జానీ మాస్టర్ వివాదం.. చిన్మయి, పూనమ్ స్ట్రాంగ్ కౌంటర్

స్టార్ కొరియోగ్రాఫర్ జానీ మాస్టర్ తనపై లైంగికంగా వేదించాడని అతని దగ్గర అసిస్టెంట్ కొరియోగ్రాఫర్ గా వర్క్ చేసిన యువతి ఫిర్యాదు చేసిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. దీనిపై నార్సింగ్ పోలీస్ స్టేషన్ లో కేసు నమోదు చేసి ఎంక్వయిరీ మొదలుపెట్టారు. యువతి జానీ మాస్టర్ పై చాలా రకాల ఆరోపణలు చేసింది. గత ఐదేళ్లుగా ఇబ్బంది కలిగిస్తున్నాడని, మతం మార్చుకొని పెళ్లి చేసుకోవాలని బెదిరించాడని యువతి ఆరోపణలు చేసింది. వీటిని లిఖితపూర్వకంగా రాసి ఫిర్యాదు చేసింది.

దీనిపై పోలీసులు విచారణ మొదలుపెట్టారు. అయితే ఈ వ్యవహారంపై ఇప్పటి వరకు జానీ మాస్టర్ బయటకొచ్చి మాట్లాడలేదు. కానీ నేషనల్ వైడ్ గా ఇప్పుడు జానీ మాస్టర్ పై యువతి చేసిన ఆరోపణలు సంచలనంగా మారాయి. జానీ మాస్టర్ కేసు విషయంలో ఇంకా పూర్తి స్థాయిలో క్లారిటీ రావాల్సి ఉంది. ఇక సోషల్ మీడియాలో అతనిపై విమర్శలు వినిపిస్తున్నాయి.

Super Harvest Moon and partial lunar eclipse to grace the skies tonight

New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS) Sky gazers are in for a double treat tonight with two celestial events occurring in a rare coincidence — a super harvest Moon and partial lunar eclipse — on Tuesday night.

The Super Harvest Moon on Tuesday night will experience a partial lunar eclipse making it appear slightly larger in the night sky.

The visual delight will be visible in western Asia, North and South America, Europe, Africa, and parts of Antarctica. It will not be visible from India as during the time of the lunar eclipse, the Moon would be below the horizon in the country. It will appear at 8:04 am in New Delhi.

The term “Supermoon” was coined by astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979 as either a new or full Moon that occurs when the Moon is within 90 per cent of its closest to Earth.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac calls the full moon of September as the Harvest moon, referring to when corn harvests traditionally started.

The eclipse occurs when the Moon is slightly closer to Earth, which happens because the Moon’s orbit is slightly elliptical, or oval-shaped.

As per NASA, the Moon will appear full for about three days, from Monday evening through Thursday morning.

The Moon will start entering the Earth’s partial shadow at 8:41 pm EDT on Tuesday (6:11 am IST, Wednesday).

NASA noted that “the slight dimming of the Moon will be difficult to notice until the top edge of the Moon starts entering the full shadow”.

The peak of the eclipse will be at 10:44 pm (8:14 am IST).

As it is a partial eclipse, “only the top 8 per cent of the Moon will be in full shadow”.

The Moon will finish exiting the full shadow at 11:16 pm and the partial shadow on Wednesday at 12:47 am.

“This will be the second of four consecutive Supermoons, appearing larger than last month’s Supermoon and effectively tied with the full Moon in October for the closest full Moon of the year,” NASA said.

Thousands protest in Brussels against Audi factory closure

Brussels, Sep 17 (IANS) Thousands of people took to the streets of Brussels, Belgium, in solidarity with workers from the Audi factory that is scheduled to close and to call for a support plan to maintain industrial jobs.

According to the police, 5,500 people took to the streets of the Belgian capital on Monday, reports Xinhua news agency.

The strike was prompted by Audi’s decision to close its factory in Forest, one of the Brussels neighbourhoods where some 3,000 people are employed. Local unions have called for a strike day in solidarity with Audi workers.

“It means that 3,000 families today are left behind directly, but also all subcontractors, co-contractors…” said Marie-Helene Ska, General Secretary of the Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (CSC).

“And we hear nothing from politicians as if the fate of these 3,000 families and all subcontractors didn’t interest them,” she added.

Trade unions also called for a cutting-edge reindustrialisation for the economy, for dynamism, and for quality jobs. The union claims that austerity measures imposed by the European Union (EU) are counter-productive at all levels.

The CSC is joined by other unions: the General Labour Federation of Belgium (FGTB) and the General Confederation of Liberal Trade Unions of Belgium (CGSLB).

FGTB asked for a strong industrial plan to protect quality industrial jobs and investments. “The EU doesn’t have a clear vision for our market,” said Gert Truyens from CGSLB.

“The US and China are gaining market shares over us as they invest massively in their industries. Meanwhile, we’re debating about subventions for electric vehicles while the foundations of our industry are cracking.”

In an open letter, employers have warned that the strike would cost tens of thousands of euros, asking for stability and cooperation. Employers also called on politicians to put the survival of industries in the country on the top of their list.

Australia, UAE reach agreement on free trade deal

Canberra, Sep 17 (IANS) Australia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reached a deal on a free trade agreement.

Don Farrell, Australia’s Minister for Trade and Tourism, on Tuesday announced that negotiations on the Australia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement have concluded, Xinhua news agency reported.

He said at a press conference in Canberra that the deal would eliminate tariffs on more than 99 per cent of Australian products entering the UAE.

“This is the first trade agreement with the Middle East,” Farrell said. “The UAE is not only our largest trade and investment partner in the Middle East, but it is always one of our most important strategic diplomatic and defence partners in the region.”

According to the government, Australian exports to the UAE are expected to increase by 678 million Australian dollars (US$457.3 million) per year under the trade agreement.

Additionally, Farrell said it would open up investment from the UAE’s sovereign wealth funds in Australia’s critical minerals sector.

“The UAE has some of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world. A trade agreement with the UAE will facilitate investment, which is important to achieving the government’s ambition of becoming a renewable energy superpower,” he said in a statement.

Two-way trade between Australia and the UAE was worth 9.9 billion Australian dollars in 2023 and two-way investment was worth 20.6 billion Australian dollars.

Farrell said both nations are working on formalising the legal treaty text in preparation for signing later in 2024.

It is well known that the Titan submersible which was sent to look at the drowned Titanic ship in the Atlantic Sea too ended up with the same fate. The mini submarine imploded and five members who were in it met with death. Recently, the US Coast Guard revealed the last messages exchanged between Polar Prince, the support ship and the Titan submersible.

It was unveiled through an animation video on 16th September 2024 which explained the timeline of how the disaster happened. This was done as a part of the investigation process in order to find out how things turned the way it did. The communication at 10:15 am on that came from a sub who responded, “All good here.”

But the final update was “dropped two wts” (wts implies to ‘weights’) which was a procedure. The submarine lost all contact just six seconds later. The five passengers onboard were Nargeolet, Hamish Harding, Shahzada Dawood, his son Suleman Dawood and Stockton Rush who is the CEO of OceanGate.
