Actress Malaika Arora’s Father Passes Away in Tragic Accident
Renowned actress, dancer, and model Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Arora, tragically passed away on the morning of September 11, 2024. He jumped off the terrace of his seven-story building located in Bandra, Mumbai.
The Mumbai Police immediately arrived at the scene, confirming the incident on Twitter. Initial reports suggested that Anil Arora had committed suicide, but later, a source clarified that it was an accidental fall. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
Malaika’s ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, was seen arriving at Malaika’s family home in Mumbai to offer support. The location was surrounded by police personnel. Malaika’s parents separated when she was 11 years old, and she lived with her mother and sister, Amritha. Anil Arora worked in the Indian Merchant Navy and was of Punjabi Hindu descent.

Apple iPhone 16 being launched globally from Indian factories
New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) Union Railways and Electronics and IT Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, on Tuesday said that Apple’s latest iPhone 16 is being produced and launched globally from the Indian manufacturing plants.
The ‘Make in India’ new iPhones will be available in the country on September 20, and will be exported to other nations as well.
“Apple’s latest iPhone 16 being produced and launched globally from Indian factories,” said Minister Vaishnaw.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative is now driving the creation of iconic products for the world,” the minister posted on X social media platform.
iPhone exports continue to clock around $1 billion each month thanks to the government’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme. According to the government, in the ecosystem of Apple alone, more than 2 lakh people have got employment and there is good amount of growth.
The iPhone exports from India surged sharply to $12.1 billion in 2023-24 from $6.27 billion in 2022-23. Overall, the company’s India operations reached 23.5 billion dollars in value in the last fiscal (FY24).
iPhone factories in the country are set to hire more than 10,000 people directly in the peak festival period. Apple aims to manufacture more than 50 million iPhones in India per year, as it aims to shift some of the production out from China.
Tata Electronics, which runs two plants for Apple, is the biggest job creator in the Apple ecosystem, along with Foxconn and Pegatron.
As tech giants like Apple continue to shift iPhone manufacturing to India amid political stability and friendly government policies, the country captured almost half of the lost market (40.5 per cent) from China and Vietnam in the last fiscal year.
Mobile phone exports from the country touched nearly $16 billion in FY24 from $11 billion in FY23. The overall electronic manufacturing in the country is expected to reach around $250 billion in the next five years.
Iran, Mexico voice support for truce in Gaza
Tehran, Sep 11 (IANS) Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and his Mexican counterpart Alicia Barcena have expressed their countries’ support for a ceasefire in Gaza.
In a phone call on Tuesday, the two sides also called for the continuation of bilateral political talks and consultations, according to a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Xinhua news agency reported.
Barcena said her country supported the achievement of a truce in Gaza and maintained that the violence and bloodshed in the Palestinian coastal enclave should end as soon as possible.
The Iranian foreign minister, for his part, condemned the continuation of Israeli “crimes” against Palestinians and at the regional level, highlighting the necessity to immediately stop them.
Araghchi added that Iran would back any ceasefire agreement approved by the Palestinian people and resistance groups.
Israel has been launching a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023.
The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has reached 41,020, Gaza-based health authorities said on Tuesday.
