Veteran actor Anupam Kher took to social media to pen a heartfelt note for his “guru and friend” Mahesh Bhatt.The filmmaker congratulated Kher on completing 40 years in the Indian film industry with a special note. On Friday, the Special 26 actor took to his Instagram handle and dropped a photo featuring him and Bhatt. He also posted a picture of the handwritten note given by Mahesh. Alongside the image, the actor expressed his emotions through a lengthy note where he called Mahesh Bhatt a man who gave him his identity as an actor on screen.

Anupam wrote, “Sometimes pictures don’t capture all the emotions…What you can see is how excited I’m to receive this from my guru, friend, philosopher & guide #MaheshBhattSaab who congratulated me on completing 40 years in the Indian film industry! I have been fortunate to have received a lot of love for my work over the years but today, I feel, I have received the ultimate prize.”

He added, “What you don’t see in this picture are the many drops of tears that fell when this unfolded. You don’t see my emotions, you don’t see how this gesture of love and kindness from Bhatt Saab totally overwhelmed me and brought back so many memories. I kept reading what he has written for me and I was speechless. I couldn’t speak a word and sat down holding his hand in gratitude.”

Kher recently completed his 40 years in cinema.

The actor played the role of a 69-year-old old angry man, Vijay Matthew, who dares to dream big in the film Vijay 69. The film, which also stars Chunky Panday in supporting role, released on Netflix on November 8.

Ghajini is one of the standout hits in South Indian cinema. AR Murugadoss directed it and starred Suriya in the lead role. The film was so successful that Murugadoss later remade it in Hindi, with Aamir Khan playing the lead. Recently, Suriya fueled speculation when he mentioned a possible collaboration with Aamir Khan for Ghajini 2 during the promotions for Kanguva in North India.

At the Telugu pre-release event for Kanguva, Allu Aravind-who distributed the Telugu version of Ghajini and produced the Hindi remake-was asked about the buzz surrounding a potential sequel.

The public’s response suggested that the speculation was news to him. In a lighthearted tone, Allu Aravind remarked, “The rights for a sequel are with me. If Suriya is to do it, it has to be for me.”

He also shared that while there had been plans to work with Suriya in the past, they hadn’t materialized, but he remains open to collaborating in the future. From his comments, it seems that any talk about Ghajini 2 might just be promotional hype linked to Kanguva rather than a real project in development.

GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for the film and recently composed for blockbusters Amaran and Lucky Baskhar. The composer talked about Matka and stated that he saw the film and it is a Godfather kind of a film.

He expressed confidence on the movie becoming a big blockbuster and said that Varun Tej’s performance, Karuna Kumar’s writing and directing skills have come together to create a visual spectacle. GV Prakash stated that he enjoyed composing music for the film and loved “Le Le Raja” song, the most among all.

SRT Entertainment and Vyra Entertainments are producing the film on a lavish scale with writer-director Karuna Kumar at the helm. Matka is releasing on 14th November all over.
