Megastar Chiranjeevi, a household name in Telugu cinema, recently shared a special post that has left his fans nostalgic. The actor took to social media to share a photo from his college days, where he performed in a play called “Rajinama” in 1974-75.

Chiranjeevi, who has been in the industry for nearly 40 years, began his journey without any film background. His debut film was “Punadirallu,” where he was one of the four heroes. He then rose to fame with his unique acting style.The shared photo is from his second-year college days, where he received the Best Actor award for his performance in “Rajinama.” Fans are thrilled to see the transformation from then to now.

Currently, Chiranjeevi is working on his upcoming socio-fantasy film “Vishwambar,” directed by Vashistha. Although initially scheduled for Sankranti release, it has been postponed to summer to accommodate his son Ram Charan’s film.

Ashok Galla’s upcoming film, Devaki Nandana Vasudeva, directed by Arjun Jandyala, is currently in the post-production phase. The film’s business has already commenced on a promising note, with Shankara Pictures acquiring the worldwide theatrical rights for a significant sum.

Positioned as a mass-action family entertainer with devotional elements, the film’s first teaser provided a glimpse into its grand scale. Bheems Ceciroleo has composed the music, and two songs from the film have been released so far. Varanasi Manasa is the leading lady opposite Ashok Galla. The film is produced by Somineni Balakrishna under the banner of Lalithambika Productions.

Devaki Nandana Vasudeva is slated for a theatrical release on November 14th, 2023.

Zelensky says Ukraine expects North Korean troops to be deployed in battlefield in few days

Seoul, Oct 25 (IANS) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that intelligence indicates Russia is expected to deploy the first batch of North Korean soldiers in combat zones within a few days.

Zelensky shared the assessment on social media platform X, citing a report from Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, Yonhap news agency reported.

“According to intelligence, the first North Korean soldiers are expected to be deployed by Russia to combat zones as early as October 27–28,” Zelensky wrote. “This is a clear escalation by Russia.”

He called for “a principled and strong response” from global leaders against Russia’s efforts to continue the war with Ukraine.

“North Korea’s actual involvement in combat should not be met with indifference or uncertain commentary, but with tangible pressure on both Moscow and Pyongyang, to uphold the UN Charter and to hold them accountable for this escalation,” he said.

South Korea and the United States have said North Korea sent around 3,000 troops to eastern Russia for possible deployment in a war against Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin did not deny or confirm the deployment but said his government takes the “comprehensive strategic partnership” treaty with North Korea seriously, which includes a mutual defence clause. It was signed in June and ratified by Russian lawmakers Thursday.

“But I would like to say that it will be our sovereign decision: whether we will apply something or not, where, how. Whether we need it or whether we will be engaged, let’s say, only in conducting some exercises, training and sharing experience. This is entirely our own business,” Putin said in an interview with the state-run Rossiya-1 TV channel Friday.

Pakistan world’s third worst country in managing law and order

Islamabad, Oct 26 (IANS) The World Justice Project (WJP) Rule of Law Index 2024 has ranked Pakistan as the world’s third worst nation among 142 countries, when it comes to maintaining the law and order situation.

According to the report, Pakistan was ranked 140th along with Mali (141) and Nigeria (142) in terms of order and security.

Pakistan is referred to as a state where the military might is supreme and stands above all, thus putting the rights of people and the rule of law on an extremely poor footing, especially in the areas of civil and criminal justice.

Among the areas most affected by the poor justice system include civil and criminal justice, fundamental rights, open government, corruption, regulatory enforcement and order and security.

The WJP index rated Pakistan’s global ranking at 129 out of a total of 142 countries assessed.

With the top judges of the country fighting publicly against each other – claiming to be the savior of the country’s legal system – the WJP’s report is a serious blot on the country, exposing its deteriorating justice system and governance.

The WJP report factored in issues like constraints on government powers, absence of corruption, open government, fundamental rights, order and security, regulatory enforcement, civil justice and criminal justice to determine rule of law performance of a country.

The report further highlighted that Pakistan’s global ranking in the area of criminal justice stands at 98 out of 142 countries. In the area of provision of civil justice, Pakistan stands at 128 out of 142 countries globally. In the area of regulatory enforcement, Pakistan’s global ranking remains at 127.

Pakistan is also ranked 125 in the field of fundamental rights and 124 in the field of absence of corruption.

The World Justice Project is an independent, multidisciplinary organisation working to create knowledge, build awareness, and stimulate action to advance the rule of law worldwide.

The WJP Rule of Law Index was first piloted in 2008. Since then it has evolved, expanding to include over 142 countries.
