Pure Telugu Melody Nowhere Seen In Recent Flicks Except..

Telugu cinema enthusiasts yearning for a return to the soulful melodies of yesteryear can rejoice! The upcoming romantic entertainer “Dhoom Dham” boasts a song that promises a delightful escape from the current trend of electronic-heavy music.
“Tomato Buggala Pilla” stands out as a pure melody, a welcome contrast to the high-energy mass numbers and formulaic romantic tracks dominating big-budget Telugu films. This beautiful song, sung by the renowned playback singers Sri Krishna and Geeta Madhuri, exudes an old-school charm with its authentic vocals.
Gopi Sundar’s music for “Tomato Buggala Pilla” is described as “like honey to the ears,” further enhancing the song’s appeal. The heartfelt lyrics penned by the esteemed Ramajogayya Sastry add another layer of depth and emotion to the melody.
“Dhoom Dham” stars Chetan Krishna and Hebah Patel in the lead roles. The film also features a supporting cast of seasoned actors including Sai Kumar, Vennela Kishore, Prithviraj, and Goparaju Ramana.
Directed by Sai Kishore Macha, the film is produced by MS Ram Kumar under the banner of “Friday Frame Works.” Additional credits include fight choreography by Real Satish, art direction by Raghu Kulkarni, editing by Amar Reddy Kudumula, and dialogues penned by Praveen Varma. Song choreography is handled by Vijay Binni and Bhanu masters.
While the official release date for “Dhoom Dham” remains undisclosed, the arrival of “Tomato Buggala Pilla” has already generated excitement among music lovers seeking a return to the golden era of Telugu melodies. This song’s success may pave the way for a resurgence of more traditional and soulful music in Telugu cinema.
Rahman’s Legacy: Daughter Enters Music Direction

A. R. Rahman, a name synonymous with captivating music in Indian cinema, continues to enthrall audiences. From the enduring melodies of “Roja” to the global success of “Slumdog Millionaire,” Rahman’s compositions have transcended generations. His timeless classics like “Dil Se” and “Kannathil Muthamittal” stand as testaments to his enduring legacy.
However, the Rahman musical legacy is poised to embark on a new and exciting chapter. Khatija Rahman, the maestro’s daughter, is ready to take the music world by storm. Stepping into the role of music director, Khatija will make her debut with the film “Minmini,” directed by the acclaimed Halita Shamim.
This project signifies a dual milestone. It marks the arrival of a fresh musical voice on the Indian film scene, while also highlighting the growing prominence of women directors in the industry. Khatija’s foray into music direction underscores the Rahman family’s deep-rooted passion for music, a passion that has captivated audiences for decades.
While comparisons are inevitable, the true test lies in Khatija’s own creative vision. Will she inherit her father’s magic touch for crafting unforgettable melodies? Only time will tell what unique sounds will emerge from her artistic perspective.
One thing remains certain: the world eagerly awaits the next chapter in the Rahman musical legacy, led by the talented Khatija Rahman. Her debut in “Minmini” promises to be a fascinating exploration of her musical identity, and a potential continuation of the Rahman family’s remarkable artistic journey.
‘Bharateeyudu 2’ Movie Review
‘Bharateeyudu’ is an iconic movie delivered by Shankar and Kamal Haasan 28 years back. Though it is a Tamil film for its namesake, people across the country were impressed with it. The movie was a huge blockbuster in all languages. After all these years, Shankar and Kamal reunited once again to make a sequel of ‘Bharateeyudu’. The trailer and other promotional content did not meet the expectations and let us dive into the review to find out more about this film.
Story:
Aravind (Siddharth) and his friends run a YouTube channel named Barking Dogs. Through this channel, they expose the corruption and injustice in the society. But his efforts to stop corruption reach nowhere through these activities. He believes that Senapathi (Kamal Haasan) needs to comeback in order to clean all the corruption in this country. He starts a social media campaign named ‘Come Back Indian’. His efforts work out as Senapathi who was living in a Chinese Martial Arts training centre decides to come out. What does Senapathi encounter after returning to the country? How will he react to it? What change does he bring in the society? What challenges did he face? Answers to all these questions form the rest of the story.
Analysis:
There is one scene in ‘Bharateeyudu 2’ where hundreds of men from the police department aim their guns at Senapathi. But the 100-year-old man easily escapes. All of them chase him in cars while he simply hops on a skating scooter and escapes from them rapidly. Though we understand that logic should not be considered every time, this is beyond logic and cinematic liberty. This is even more crazier. We wonder if Shankar who made ‘Shivaji’, ‘Aparichitudu’ and ‘Robo’ has come up with such a lackluster scene. In another scene, Senapathi gets attacked by the public with stones, sticks and even brooms. Keeping the reasons aside, having such a beloved character getting beaten will pierce your heart. They even curse Shankar for giving this situation to a man like Senapathi. We have seen many young directors and heroes spoiling old films by remaking them but legendary names like Shankar and Kamal destroying the image of their own iconic blockbuster is quite sad. It is a film that gives us a great story of a fighter who fought in Independence and how he became a vigilante against corruption. Many dreamed of that character arriving in reality and cleaning society. The emotion in that film breaks your heart. The action gives you goosebumps. There is everything in that film. AR Rahman’s music is evergreen. Every technician gave their 100% for that film.
‘Bharateeyudu 2’ starts off on the note that our country has not changed even after all these years and that is why the youth asks Indian to come back. The movie is good till that point and everything is set in place for Senapathi’s grand entry. Everyone expects the movie to go to another level after his entry but it is not what happens. His introduction itself disappoints the audience. Indian suddenly turns into a Chinese Kung Fu master. People still hope that things will change once he starts killing corrupted people but they turn out to be a tedious watch. While Senapathi goes about with his killings, Siddharth and his gang catch corrupt officials by spying on their own families. This thread tests the patience of the audience. It gives us the feeling of watching a serial and the second half gets dragged even more. The frustration reaches a peak during the pre-climax scene. We wonder what Shankar wanted to say after watching people turning against Senapathi. There is no special surprise at the end as he stops the story midway and drops the trailer of ‘Indian 3’. It looks good but people who got vexed with ‘Indian 2’ needs to be offered something great in ‘Indian 3’. For now, ‘Indian 2’ is a major disappointment.
Performances:
Despite using heavy prosthetics on Kamal’s face, he showcased a wide range of emotions in ‘Bharateeyudu’. His body language was a huge asset and his emotional connection with the audience through the Senapathi role hugely benefitted everyone. Also, he played both father and son which helped him in presenting the required variation. But all of them went missing in ‘Bharateeyudu 2′. The make of Senapathi is quite bad and we feel impatient when he appears on the screen. We are not saying anything about Kamal’s efforts and experience. He did a great job but bad prosthetics did not help him at all.
It is true that Senapathi’s character did not resonate with the audience like before. Siddharth did a very good role. Rakul is seen as his girlfriend and had nothing much to do in the film. Her screen presence is good. Priya Bhavani Shankar, Jagan and the other actor who played the hero’s friends’ role were fine as well. As said earlier, SJ Suriya did not have a lot to do in the second part but he will have more significance in ‘Indian 3’. Bobby Simha is okay and the other big actor too did what was necessary for the movie.
Technicians:
Young sensation doesn’t really disappoint the audience when it comes to music but ‘Indian 2′ is one such rare film where he completely misses the mark. It is one of his weakest works. Anirudh might have delivered songs after watching the movie as he delivered something that we never expected i.e. mediocrity. The background score too fails badly on many occasions. Ravi Varman’s cinematography is great as the grandeur can be seen throughout the film. The production values are great but they were in vain. Telugu dialogues are good and what should we say about Shankar?
By going back 28 years, we can see how he downgraded in terms of story, writing and screenplay. While his taking and grandeur are still intact, Shankar is known for emotional drama that connects with audience. It is nowhere to be seen in this flick. Shankar might have had a few failures along the way but none of them were as bad as Bharateeyudu 2’. He looked like he was disinterested and the movie is very slow. The regular sharpness in a Shankar is nowhere to be found.
Verdict: ‘Bharateeyudu 2’ – Zero Emotional Connect With The audience.

A Mega-Collaboration on the Horizon? Kamal Haasan Rumored for Guest Role in Vijay’s 69th Film

Kollywood is abuzz with rumors of a potential dream collaboration between veteran actor Kamal Haasan and current heartthrob Vijay. According to industry sources, Kamal Haasan might be gracing Vijay’s upcoming film with a guest appearance.
Both actors are currently engrossed in their own projects. Vijay is filming for “The GOAT” under Venkat Prabhu’s direction and has also signed on for a subsequent film with H Vinoth. Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is occupied with Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated “Thug Life.”
Interestingly, fate seems to have intervened in the collaboration between Kamal Haasan and H Vinoth. Their project, tentatively titled “Kamal-233,” was shelved due to unforeseen circumstances. However, the story narrated for “Kamal-233” has reportedly found a new home in Vijay’s 69th film, directed by the same H Vinoth.
This turn of events has fueled speculation that Kamal Haasan himself might appear in the film, albeit in a guest role. This would mark the first-ever on-screen pairing of Vijay and Kamal Haasan, a prospect that has sent fans into a frenzy.
Details regarding Kamal Haasan’s potential role and the film’s progress remain shrouded in secrecy, with an official confirmation from the makers still pending. Nevertheless, the prospect of Vijay, Kamal Haasan, and H Vinoth joining forces has ignited immense excitement among cinema lovers.
Vinoth’s proven track record of delivering blockbusters like “Nerkonda Paarvai” and “Valimai” coupled with the star power of Vijay and the potential addition of Kamal Haasan has set expectations soaring for this yet-to-be-titled project. With more information awaited, this potential collaboration has undoubtedly become one of the most anticipated developments in Kollywood.

IIT Bombay innovates to optimise fuel cell electric vehicle components

New Delhi, July 23 (IANS) Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay on Tuesday informed that they have developed a novel optimisation method for determining the ideal weight and size distribution of components in fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).
The new method optimises the weight, cost, and range of FCEVs by recommending the optimal size for the radiator and thermal energy storage (TES) unit, enhancing vehicle efficiency and aiding in commercialisation.
Electric vehicles, especially FCEVs, are gaining popularity as a green alternative to fossil fuels. Unlike battery electric vehicles (BEVs), which need charging, FCEVs use hydrogen fuel cells to generate electricity, emitting only water vapour. However, fuel cells generate excessive heat, requiring large radiators for cooling, which increases vehicle weight and size.
To address this, IIT Bombay’s team led by Prof Prakash C. Ghosh and Nadiya Philip, a Prime Minister’s Research Fellow (PMRF), proposed a compact radiator coupled with a TES unit, using paraffin wax as phase change material (PCM) to store thermal energy.
This setup significantly reduces radiator size and maintains a constant coolant temperature, improving overall vehicle performance.
The study uniquely combines Electrical Energy Storage (EES) systems with TES units, using pinch analysis to determine optimal sizes for radiators, fuel cells, EES, and TES components. This integration can potentially reduce radiator size in heavy-duty vehicles by up to 2.5 times, optimising weight, volume, cost, and range based on manufacturers’ preferences.
Future steps include lab-scale experiments and real-time vehicle testing to validate the proposed thermal management system’s effectiveness under various driving conditions.
Thousands of Gazans on move again, following Israel’s evacuation orders

United Nations, July 24 (IANS) After recent evacuation orders, Gazans abandoned shelter in parts of the north and the south, moving so quickly that some left without belongings, UN humanitarians said.
It was not the first time many of them were displaced.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Tuesday that more civilians fled parts of Khan Younis following Monday’s evacuation order issued by Israeli authorities and the subsequent intensification of hostilities in that area, Xinhua news agency reported.
OCHA added that humanitarian colleagues monitoring population movements reported about 150,000 people left areas in Khan Younis.
The office is concerned about the short interval between dropping leaflets ordering people to leave and the escalation of military operations, posing significant risks. The warning was about an hour before hostilities. Many civilians were seen on the move without any belongings.
“The immediate escalation of hostilities in the area also resulted in many people being trapped in the evacuation area,” OCHA said.
“These included people with reduced mobility and family members supporting them.”
The humanitarians said that each evacuation order profoundly disrupts people’s lives, with many forced to move into areas with little or no infrastructure and very limited access to shelter, health, sanitation or other life-saving humanitarian assistance.
OCHA said the area designated for evacuation on Monday included two primary health centres, two medical points, a dozen food distribution points and eight cooked meal provision points. These have all ceased operations, with only one community kitchen still operational for those left behind.
The office also said that different parts of Salah ad Din Road have seen security incidents, including gunfire. Parts of the road, a key route for humanitarian goods, were included in Monday’s evacuation directives. This forced humanitarian supplies to be rerouted to the Coastal Road, which is not a viable alternative due to congestion.
The World Health Organisation reported that Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis is coping with an influx of patients following hostilities. Some medical supplies delivered last week for 10,000 patients were diverted to treat mass casualty victims.
OCHA also said displacement continues from the northern Gaza Strip southwards and from the Al-Bureij area of Deir al Balah amid continuing hostilities.
Humanitarians said they continue doing everything possible to provide healthcare, child protection services, cash assistance and essential items.
The UN office added that two marked UN Children’s Fund (Unicef) vehicles were hit with live ammunition while waiting at a designated holding point near the Wadi Gaza checkpoint.
Unicef said the cars were en route to reunite five children, including a baby, with their father. It’s the second such shooting incident involving UNICEF cars in the past 12 weeks.
The UN Relief Agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) suffered a similar incident on Sunday.
OCHA said there were no injuries in either incident.
“We strongly reiterate that humanitarian workers are protected under International Humanitarian Law and must never be targeted,” OCHA added.
Unicef also reported it managed to transfer some water pipes to the north to provide water to the Jabalya area. It’s a reminder that people in Gaza are surviving with only a quarter of the water supply they had before the conflict started on October 7.
Israeli army shoots down two drones approaching from east

Jerusalem, July 24 (IANS) Israel’s military said on Wednesday that its fighter jets shot down two drones that approached Israel from the east overnight.
In a statement, the military said the drones were intercepted before crossing into Israeli airspace.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an Iran-backed Shiite militant group, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it launched the drones at “a vital target” near Eilat, an Israeli resort city on the Red Sea shore, Xinhua news agency reported.
The group said the attack was conducted “in solidarity with the people of Gaza” and vowed to continue targeting “the enemy’s strongholds”.
Since the Israel-Palestine conflict began on October 7, 2023, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has launched multiple attacks on Israeli targets and US bases in the region.

Dhanush’s Poes Garden Purchase: A Real Estate Deal or a Personal Triumph?

Dhanush, the multifaceted actor and director, recently ignited a media firestorm with his acquisition of a house in Chennai’s Poes Garden, an exclusive neighborhood known for being the residence of legendary actor Rajinikanth, Dhanush’s former father-in-law. This purchase, estimated at Rs 25 crores, has transcended a simple real estate transaction, morphing into a complex narrative intertwined with Dhanush’s personal life and career.
The controversy stems from Dhanush’s past relationship with Aishwarya Rajinikanth, to whom he was married for 18 years before their separation in 2022. The proximity of the new house to Rajinikanth’s residence has fueled public scrutiny, with reactions ranging from enthusiastic support to pointed criticism. Some fans view the purchase as a well-deserved achievement, while others question the propriety of living in such close proximity to his former in-laws.
Dhanush, in a bid to address the controversy, spoke at the audio launch of his upcoming film “Raayan.” He expressed bewilderment at the public’s reaction, stating, “Why shouldn’t I buy a house in Poes Garden? Should I be living on the streets?” This candid remark highlights his desire for normalcy and underscores his right to make personal choices.
Further shedding light on his motivation, Dhanush shared a heartfelt anecdote.
