With audiences eager for entertainment after a period of restrictions, “Gangs of Godavari” emerges as a highly anticipated Telugu film slated for release on May 31st, 2024. This raw action drama, directed and written by Krishna Chaitanya, stars Vishwak Sen in the lead role and has garnered significant positive buzz despite facing postponements.

The film’s promotional campaign has been particularly successful, with content generating a phenomenal response so far. Notably, the makers released a special election-day poster across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh featuring Vishwak Sen in a politician’s attire, hinting at a strong political undercurrent that is likely to add depth to the narrative.

Adding to the excitement, sources report that the OTT rights for “Gangs of Godavari” have been acquired by Netflix for an impressive sum of ₹14 crore. The two released songs have also garnered significant popularity, further amplifying audience anticipation.

The makers describe “Gangs of Godavari” as an intense story brimming with raw emotions that will leave audiences awestruck. The film boasts a skilled technical team, with Navin Nooli serving as editor and Yuvan Shankar Raja composing the music. Anith Madhadi handles cinematography.

Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya take on the producer roles, while Krishna Chaitanya dons the dual hat of writer and director. However, despite exceeding expectations and grossing over ₹725 crore at the box office, “Salaar Part 1” fell short of the coveted ₹1000 crore mark. While acknowledging that the actor’s voice may have undergone changes, audiences craved his signature powerful dialogues. Reports suggest that all of Prabhas’ spoken lines in “Salaar Part 1” could fit on a single page.

In response to this feedback, sources claim that both Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel are committed to rectifying this issue in “Salaar Part 2.” Neel is reportedly incorporating a significant amount of impactful dialogue for Prabhas in the sequel, much to the excitement of fans. The official production start date for “Salaar Part 2” remains unconfirmed.

The supporting cast of “Salaar Part 1” boasts prominent names from the South Indian film industry. Prithviraj Sukumaran portrays Varadharaja Mannar, while Prabhas takes on the role of Devaratha. Shruti Haasan plays a pivotal character who witnesses a crucial flashback sequence. Jagapathi Babu portrays Prithviraj’s father, and Shriya Reddy takes on the role of Radha Rama. Eeswari Rao portrays Prabhas’ mother in this pan-Indian film. The technical team includes music composer Ravi Basrur and cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda.

Sree Vishnu is known for his unique story selection. His movies have novel ideas which is why he is appreciated by many. He made a strong comeback with a super hit fun film like ‘Samajavaragamana’ and continued his successful run with another entertainer like ‘Om Bheem Bush’. It looks like the actor is in no mood to stop as he is signing projects back to back.

Whilst he announced his 18th film under the Geetha Arts banner, Sree Vishnu is working on an investigative thriller. This is his 17th film and around 60% of the shooting has been completed. He also announced a project under the direction of Janaki Ram Marella. Not stopping there, he has reportedly given his green signal to another project and it is going to be his 20th film.
Nandu, who worked as a writer for ‘Samajavaragamana’ is turning into a director with this film. Apparently, Sree Vishnu immensely liked the script narrated by Nandu and the official announcement is expected to arrive soon. Anil Sunkara will be producing this film under the AK Entertainments banner.

If things fall in place, the shooting will commence at the start of next year. Vishnu is done with the shooting of ‘SWAG’ and Hasit Goli is the director. People Media Factory is bankrolling this project. It looks like Sree Vishnu is on a signing spree.
