Trisha on Second Wind and Bollywood Ambitions

Share

Trisha Krishnan, a prominent actress in South Indian cinema, is experiencing a remarkable career resurgence. After a period of uncertainty, she has reclaimed the spotlight with the success of blockbuster films like “Ponniyin Selvan” and “Leo,” along with a string of upcoming projects. This renewed popularity has reignited discussions about her potential foray into Bollywood, the Hindi film industry that beckons many South Indian stars.

In a recent interview, Krishnan expressed her surprise at this turn of events. “Everyone is calling me the luckiest heroine down South,” she remarked. “Just when I thought my career might be over, I found myself back in the limelight.” This resurgence can be attributed to the phenomenal success of “Ponniyin Selvan,” which marked a successful “second innings” for the actress. With several significant films lined up, including “Vishwambhara” with Chiranjeevi, “Thuglife” with Kamal Haasan, and “Vidyaamuthira” with Ajith, Krishnan is solidifying her position as a leading force in South Indian cinema.

However, the conversation surrounding Krishnan’s career inevitably touches upon Bollywood ambitions. She had previously made her Hindi debut with “Khatta Meetha” in 2010, but the film underperformed. Some speculated that this experience hampered her Bollywood prospects. Krishnan dispels this notion, clarifying, “There’s no truth to that. Back then, I wasn’t prepared to relocate my family to Mumbai. Entering Bollywood often means sacrificing projects down South. With my established fanbase here, I wanted to explore Bollywood opportunities while capitalizing on my South Indian success.”

Krishnan’s current projects demonstrate her commitment to South Indian cinema. By collaborating with renowned actors like Chiranjeevi, Kamal Haasan, and Ajith, she remains firmly rooted in the industry that nurtured her career. Nevertheless, her comments leave the door open for future Bollywood endeavors. She acknowledges, “should the right project and timing come along,” she would be open to exploring opportunities in Hindi cinema.

Trisha Krishnan’s story exemplifies the cyclical nature of fame in the Indian film industry. After a period of introspection, she has returned stronger than ever, captivating audiences and solidifying her position in South Indian cinema. While Bollywood remains a potential avenue, her current focus lies on capitalizing on her well-deserved resurgence in the South. The future holds exciting possibilities for this talented actress, and audiences eagerly await her next cinematic triumph, be it down South or perhaps, on a pan-Indian stage.

“Tillu Square” Prepares for Release Amidst Heroine’s Absence and Anticipation

Share

The highly anticipated Telugu sequel “Tillu Square” is gearing up for its release on March 29, 2024, amidst a whirlwind of excitement. Fans are hopeful that the film will capture the same level of entertainment and comedic madness as its predecessor, “DJ Tillu.”

Promotional efforts, including trailers and interviews, have garnered a positive response, further fueling audience anticipation. However, the pre-release event held on the evening before the release witnessed a notable absence – the film’s heroine, Anupama Parameswaran.

Addressing the audience’s curiosity, lead actor Siddu Jonnalagadda shed light on the reason behind Parameswaran’s missed appearance. He revealed that she was deeply affected by the vulgar comments directed towards a recently released poster for “Tillu Square.” The poster, featuring the lead pair in a kiss, sparked controversy due to the placement of Parameswaran’s hand, leading to a barrage of inappropriate remarks on social media platforms.

Jonnalagadda rightfully condemned this behavior, urging audiences to maintain respectful boundaries when discussing female actors. He reportedly advised Parameswaran to skip the pre-release event due to her understandably low spirits. Jonnalagadda delivered a strong yet polite message towards those who engage in such online harassment, highlighting the anonymity and negativity associated with internet commentary.

Despite her absence at the pre-release event, Jonnalagadda assured audiences that Parameswaran would be present at future promotional activities. In a previous interview, Parameswaran expressed her appreciation for the learning experience on set while acknowledging the challenges of performing romantic scenes in front of large crews.

“Tillu Square,” directed by Mallik Ram, is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, presented by Srikara Studios. The film boasts Siddu Jonnalagadda himself as the writer, with Bheems Ceciroleo composing the background score and AS Prakash serving as the art director. Acclaimed Cinematographer KU Mohanan Advocates Realism for “Family Star”

Share

Celebrated cinematographer KU Mohanan, known for his work on Bollywood blockbusters like “Don” and “Talaash,” is set to enthrall Telugu audiences with his upcoming project, “Family Star.” Mohanan, who marked his Tollywood debut with the critically acclaimed “Maharshi,” recently opened up about his approach to the film’s visuals during a media interaction.

In a refreshing departure from the norm, Mohanan emphasizes a focus on realistic visuals for “Family Star.” He sheds light on the common tendency in commercial cinema to prioritize vibrant colors and excessive lighting. For “Family Star,” however, Mohanan has opted for a more nuanced approach, employing lighting strategically to ensure each frame exudes authenticity. This emphasis on natural visuals and a carefully selected color palette complements the heartwarming narrative centered around a middle-class protagonist.

Explaining his decision to join the project, Mohanan cites two key factors – the production house and the lead actor. He expresses his enthusiasm about collaborating with Dil Raju Productions, a renowned banner he has previously worked with, and his admiration for Vijay Deverakonda, the film’s lead star. While acknowledging the attractive remuneration, Mohanan doesn’t shy away from highlighting his artistic motivations.

Mohanan extends his observations to the broader Telugu film industry, acknowledging its position as the frontrunner in Indian cinema. However, he identifies a potential for stagnation in terms of visual storytelling. He emphasizes the importance of directors embracing diverse visions and innovative storytelling techniques, as this would directly translate into groundbreaking visual experiences crafted by cinematographers.

“Family Star,” directed by Parasuram and featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles, with music composed by Gopi Sundar, is slated for release on April 5th. Mohanan’s focus on visual realism and his call for creative exploration within Telugu cinema have sparked a conversation, raising the anticipation for “Family Star” and its potential to redefine visual storytelling in the industry.

Tillu Square Gears Up for Release: Behind-the-Scenes Glimpses Revealed

Share

The much-anticipated sequel to “DJ Tillu,” titled “Tillu Square,” is all set to hit the theaters on March 29, 2024, amidst immense hype and expectations. Siddu Jonnalagadda, who impressed audiences with his performance in the first film, is back in the lead role, aiming to recapture the magic.

As part of the film’s promotions, the team has been actively interacting with the media, revealing interesting tidbits about the making of “Tillu Square.” One such revelation came to light during a recent interview, where discussions focused on an instance involving actress Anupama Parameswaran.

Parameswaran reportedly expressed frustration due to scheduling conflicts. Her commitments to juggling 4-5 films simultaneously made it difficult to allocate the necessary time and dates required for “Tillu Square.” This situation, according to the film’s producer, Naga Vamsi, resulted in her displaying a short temper. Vamsi further claimed that this isn’t an isolated incident, as a similar occurrence took place during the production of “A Aa,” another film produced by the same banner eight years ago, featuring Parameswaran.

Vamsi, however, went on to assure audiences that Parameswaran will be seen in a glamorous avatar in “Tillu Square.” Siddu Jonnalagadda echoed this sentiment, adding that Parameswaran delivers a commendable performance in the film.

Interestingly, Jonnalagadda also revealed that, similar to “DJ Tillu,” “Tillu Square” was not filmed based on a pre-written script. He elaborated that the story unfolded organically during production.

The film boasts contributions from Ram Miryala as the music composer, Bheems Ceciroleo for the background score, and a talented cast overseen by director Mallik Ram. “Tillu Square” will be presented by Srikara Studios, while Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the production houses behind the first film, return for the sequel.

Sai Prakash Ummadisingu handled the cinematography, Navin Nooli served as the editor, and AS Prakash took on the role of art director. Notably, Siddu Jonnalagadda himself is credited with the screenplay.

With these behind-the-scenes details emerging, the excitement surrounding “Tillu Square” continues to mount. Audiences eagerly await the film’s release, anticipating a captivating story and a strong performance by the lead actors.
