Mallu Megastar Kickstarts His Horror Thriller ‘Bramayugam’!

A lot of Malayalam films have impressed the Telugu audience lately. Popular OTT platforms are dubbing the movies from Kerala and releasing them in Telugu which is turning out to be a huge business. Now, another interesting film is arriving and it is named ‘Bramayugam’. It is written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan and the movie was officially launched a while ago.

Chakravarthy Ramachandra found ‘Night Shift Studios’ which is a production house that will exclusively bankroll movies in the horror-thriller genre. Talking about the movie, Sadasivan Rahul said, “I am elated to be directing the stalwart Mammookka. Bramayugam is a rooted story set in the dark ages of Kerala. I am glad to be backed by the producers who’re pushing the boundaries of making this into an immersive film experience. I hope it will be a treat to Mammookka’s fans and genre enthusiasts worldwide.”

The founder of Night Shift Studios, Chakravarthy Ramachandra was an independent producer for over a decade till 2016 when he joined YNOT Studios. S. Sashikanth, the founder and producer of YNOT Studios, is a partner in this venture. Over the last 7 years, Sashikanth and Ramachandra have produced highly successful films. Chakravarthy Ramachandra along with S Sashikanth stated, “We are honored and thrilled to have the legendary Mammookka in our inaugural production.

The unparalleled image of Mammookka is set to bring life to what is going to be a spectacular cinematic experience. Bramayugam is a promising world created by director Rahul with a talented cast and crew. Night Shift Studios is envisioned and created as a culmination of the producers’ shared passion for the horror genre, born from their experience working with rich content and talented filmmakers. They hope to take homegrown horror-thriller films to the world through the banner.”

The film also stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan and Amalda Liz in prominent roles, with Shehnad Jalal as the cinematographer, Jothish Shankar as the production designer. ‘Bramayugam’ is being filmed on a grand canvas in Ottapalam and Kochi. Dialogues are given by TD Ramakrishnan, make-up by Ronex Xavier and costumes by Melwy J. Shafique Mohammed Ali as the editor, music by Christo Xavier and others.

He said that he faced a lot of heat due to that role unnecessarily. He commented that Raghavendra Rao and Bapu are his inspirations when it comes to presenting heroines.

There were reports that Krishna Vamsi is going to director Balakrishna’s 100th film and the title ‘Raitu’ went viral as well. They even planned on bringing Amitabh Bachchan on board for the president role. But things did not materialize and the project was shelved. This Is Why ‘Vikram’ Is Better Than ‘Jailer’!

Superstar Rajnikanth made a solid comeback with ‘Jailer’ which is shattering records in Tamil Nadu. While the movie has grossed over 50 crores already in the Telugu market, the collections in AP & Telangana has surpassed Kamal Hassan’s ‘Vikram’ already. In Tamil Nadu too, the collections of ‘Jailer’ are fantastic and it is expected to cross ‘Vikram’ collections very soon.

Due to such huge collections, Rajni’s fans claim that ‘Jailer’ is far better than ‘Vikram’. But it is far from the truth. ‘Jailer’ is not a spectacular film and has a very regular story. It is a dark comedy which was presented very well. Director Nelson Dilipkumar made sure that he injects his typical brand of comedy in a simple revenge drama. He added elements that are required for a superstar Rajni’s film. There are ample moments for Rajnikanth fans to enjoy in this movie that were missing from his previous films.

The expectations are quite low on ‘Jailer’ because of Rajni’s last few movies and this helped a lot. The movie had its fair share of flaws including a below-par second half which was saved by a superb climax. Nelson heavily relied on the charisma of Thalaiva during the whole movie and even took the support of superstars from Kannada and Malayalam industries through the climax.

But it is not the case with ‘Vikram’ at all. Kamal’s film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has solid content and the action sequences are brilliant. While it is Anirudh who proved to be the backbone for both movies, ‘Vikram’ has a more unique story, twists, drama and maintained Hollywood standards in storytelling. So, comparing these two films is like comparing night and day.
