Ananya Panday is embracing 2026 with honesty and relatability. In a recent Instagram reel, the actor shared a candid mirror moment, reflecting on the familiar pressure that comes with New Year resolutions. Recognizing how quickly time passes and how anxiety often accompanies the “new year, new me” mindset, Ananya emphasizes a grounded approach—focusing on small, sustainable habits rather than chasing unrealistic standards.
She highlights key routines like getting adequate sleep, staying hydrated, and exercising consistently, underscoring that consistency matters more than perfection. One simple habit she shared from her morning routine is starting the day with a handful of California almonds. Packed with natural energy, healthy fats, and vitamin E, almonds not only fuel her day but also contribute to skin health and anti-aging benefits.
Ending on a warm, personal note, Ananya wished her followers a happy new year, encouraging everyone to embrace mindfulness, self-care, and balance in 2026.

The horror-fantasy entertainer, directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory, has made a mark with its unique concept, grand visuals, and Prabhas’ strong screen presence.
In a recent interview, Nidhhi shared her experience working on the film, her role, and the journey of bringing the story to life. She expressed immense happiness and relief at the positive audience response. “The team worked on this film for nearly three years, and seeing viewers enjoy it has been deeply satisfying,” she said. While the initial response was slightly mixed, positive word of mouth gradually strengthened the film’s box office performance, proving that the content resonated with the audience.
Nidhhi plays Bessie, a nun, in the film—a role that required her to look divine and convincing on screen. She spoke about the effort that went into understanding the character, especially with costumes and overall appearance, ensuring that it suited the tone of the film. She described how the film arrived at a pivotal point in her career, following her role as a princess in Hari Hara Veera Mallu, giving her the opportunity to portray an angelic character. Nidhhi appreciated director Maruthi’s fresh approach of depicting a divine force combating evil powers rooted in tantric practices and psychological mind games.
Talking about her on-set experience, she recalled a lively and joyful atmosphere, especially working with comedians like Saptagiri, Prabhas Sreenu, and VTV Ganesh. During a phase when she was shooting simultaneously for Hari Hara Veera Mallu and The Raja Saab, the team’s support helped her manage a demanding schedule without feeling burdened.
Nidhhi also praised Prabhas for being humble, approachable, and down-to-earth, despite his pan-India stardom. She highlighted his performance in key sequences, particularly the hospital scene, and fondly remembered their casual conversations about life and cinema during breaks.
She lauded director Maruthi for his clarity and smooth working style, noting his ability to manage multiple artists efficiently and maintain a relaxed, enjoyable environment. Nidhhi also acknowledged producer T.G. Vishwa Prasad for his commitment to scale and quality, which is reflected in the film’s lavish sets, rich VFX, and high production values. She admitted that acting in VFX-heavy scenes was initially challenging but eventually became an exciting learning experience.
On a lighter note, Nidhhi laughed about the superstition surrounding horror films, clarifying that nothing unusual occurred during the shoot. However, she admitted her personal fear of horror content, joking that she prefers sleeping with lights on while reciting the Hanuman Chalisa at night.
Expressing pride in Telugu cinema, Nidhhi said she is happy to be part of the industry, noting that Telugu films are increasingly recognized for their scale and technical excellence nationwide. She also expressed her hope that all festive releases succeed, contributing to the overall growth of the industry.
Reflecting on her journey, Nidhhi shared that working with Pawan Kalyan in Hari Hara Veera Mallu taught her courage, while working with Prabhas reinforced humility despite massive success. Currently, she is busy with three Telugu films and two Hindi projects. With most of her work now in Telugu cinema, she has purchased a house in Hyderabad and plans to settle there.

India Passport Rises to 80th in Henley Index 2026

India’s passport has moved up the global mobility ladder, climbing five places to rank 80th in the Henley Passport Index 2026. Indian passport holders can now travel visa-free or obtain a visa on arrival in 55 destinations, marking a modest improvement in international travel access.
The latest ranking represents a recovery from 2025, when India slipped to 85th position despite having visa-free or e-visa access to 57 destinations. India had previously ranked 80th in 2024, making this year’s placement a return to that level. India shares the 80th spot with Niger and Algeria.
According to the index, Asia continues to dominate global passport power. Singapore retains the top position, offering its citizens visa-free access to 192 of the 227 destinations tracked. Japan and South Korea are tied for second place, each allowing access to 188 destinations without a prior visa.
Several European nations — Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Luxembourg — jointly occupy third place, with visa-free access to 186 destinations. The Henley Passport Index evaluates 199 passports worldwide and is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), measuring how many destinations can be entered without obtaining a visa in advance.
Among the strongest long-term performers is the United Arab Emirates. The UAE climbed five places this year to reach fifth position and has recorded the biggest rise in the index’s 20-year history. Since 2006, it has gained visa-free access to 149 additional destinations and surged 57 places overall.
The United States, which fell out of the top 10 for the first time last year and dropped to 12th place, has returned to the top tier, ranking 10th in the 2026 index.
At the bottom of the rankings, Afghanistan remains last at 101st place, with visa-free access to just 24 destinations. Pakistan is also near the bottom, ranked 98th globally.
VFS Global Shifts Schengen Visa Centre in Delhi to KG Marg

Visa Application Centre (VAC) in New Delhi, a move that will affect Indian applicants seeking visas for several European countries. The centre, currently operating out of Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, will shift to a new facility at 27 KG Marg, with the transition beginning on January 12, 2026. The relocation will be carried out in phases to ensure minimal disruption to visa services.
For applicants to Croatia, Denmark, Malta, Finland, Iceland, Slovenia, Norway, and Sweden, the final day for submitting visa applications at the Shivaji Stadium VAC will be January 9. From January 12 onwards, new applications for these countries will be accepted at the KG Marg centre. Passport collection for these missions, however, will continue at the Shivaji Stadium location until January 16, after which all services will be fully consolidated at KG Marg starting January 19.
A second group of European countries — including Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Malta (MES), and the Netherlands — will see their visa services at Shivaji Stadium conclude on January 16. For applicants to these destinations, all visa-related processes, including document submission, biometric enrolment, and passport collection, will resume exclusively at the KG Marg facility from January 19.
As a result of the relocation, applicants with upcoming appointments in New Delhi are advised to carefully check their appointment dates and the country they are applying to, as this will determine whether they need to visit the existing Shivaji Stadium centre or the new KG Marg location.
The Delhi move follows similar changes in other cities. Earlier this month, VFS Global relocated the Austrian Visa Application Centre in Mumbai from its previous premises to a new address in Mahalaxmi, with the change taking effect from January 2, 2026.
YCP’s Shifting Narrative Raises Questions on Its 2019–24 Claims

The YSR Congress Party (YCP) in Andhra Pradesh appears to be experimenting with multiple narratives in recent times. Initially, the party focused heavily on allegations surrounding EVMs. This was followed by the controversial “Rappa Rappa” remarks made by party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, where he openly issued strong warnings to NDA leaders and even government officials.
Now, YCP seems to have shifted its strategy yet again, centering its narrative on projecting its 2019–2024 tenure in power as a period of strong governance and welfare delivery.
Adding to this new line of thought, former YSR Congress MLA from Dharmavaram, Kethi Reddy, recently stated that the party failed to effectively publicise its achievements during its five-year rule. He claimed that while the Jagan-led government implemented several welfare schemes between 2019 and 2024, it did not successfully communicate these initiatives to the public.
Interestingly, the former MLA went a step further by claiming credit for major infrastructure projects such as the Adani–Google data center proposed in Visakhapatnam and the Bhogapuram airport project. These claims, however, have raised eyebrows among political observers.
Several intellectuals and policy experts argue that the previous YSR Congress government was often associated with policy instability, frequent reversals, and decisions that allegedly discouraged private investment in Andhra Pradesh. They point out that despite this track record, YCP is now attempting to take credit for projects that are largely linked to the present central government, while simultaneously admitting that it failed to highlight its own governance achievements.
The Jagan government had earlier faced sharp criticism over excessive borrowing and policy decisions that reportedly led major companies such as Lulu Group, Jockey, Amara Raja, Franklin Templeton, and others to either withdraw or scale back their investment plans in the state. In this context, the party’s current claim—that it merely failed in publicity despite strong governance—has left many surprised.
A neutral political observer who has closely followed Andhra Pradesh politics for several years remarked that this sudden shift in YSR Congress’s narrative raises serious questions about its consistency, credibility, and long-term political strategy.
Early Reviews Impact Ravi Teja Film, Producer Reacts

Producer Sudhakar Cherukuri, known for maintaining a calm and controversy-free image, has expressed his disappointment over the early reviews of Bharatha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, which stars Ravi Teja in the lead role.
Addressing the media, Sudhakar remarked that posting reviews late at night is not a healthy practice for the film industry. “It would have been better if reviews were shared only after the morning shows in India. Those early reviews did have some impact on the film’s initial collections,” he said.
Despite the early setback, the producer remained optimistic and confidently stated that the film is expected to reach the breakeven mark by Sunday.
Director Kishore Tirumala echoed the positive sentiment, revealing that the film is receiving an encouraging response from family audiences. “My films generally enjoy strong support from families, and this time the response for Bharatha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi has been even more overwhelming,” he said.
Kishore also expressed gratitude towards Ravi Teja, recalling their long-standing association. “After I made my small film Second Hand, Ravi Teja personally called me to appreciate it. That moment marked the beginning of our journey. He gave me complete creative freedom and trusted my vision,” the director shared.
Heroines Dimple Hayathi and Ashika Ranganath also conveyed their happiness over the positive audience response, expressing confidence that the film will continue to perform well in the coming days.

Yami Gautam’s Long-Overdue Moment of Recognition in Bollywood
Bollywood is currently showering praise on Yami Gautam, with the industry coming together to celebrate her intense and compelling performance in Haq. Over the past few days, several leading names have openly admired her work. Alia Bhatt called her the “queen of her craft,” Karan Johar admitted that he had “never been moved by a performance like this before,” while Samantha Ruth Prabhu described the film as deeply human, adding that such stories are rare—and even rarer when portrayed by an actor of Yami’s calibre. Saba Pataudi too joined the chorus, calling Yami a terrific performer.
Trade analyst Sumi Kadel sums up the moment by remarking, “Everyone salutes the rising sun.” He points out that Bollywood, an industry often divided by camps and loyalties, rarely goes against the prevailing wave—especially when the spotlight is firmly on Haq and her husband Aditya Dhar’s upcoming Dhurandhar. However, there is an irony to this sudden gush of appreciation. Yami, an outsider who built her career without backing, has often spoken about feeling sidelined and struggling for recognition despite consistently delivering strong performances.
According to industry insiders, 2025 did not see a clear box-office hit led by a female actor, and Yami’s performance stood out as the most powerful of the year, irrespective of whether Haq fits the traditional blockbuster label. In an industry where awards, visibility, and even invitations are often influenced by networking and power equations, the appreciation Yami is receiving now feels refreshingly genuine.
Not too long ago, Yami had openly addressed the exclusivity of Bollywood’s inner circles. In an interview, she remarked that casting and perceptions are shaped by a system that doesn’t always reward merit, adding that it was up to her to stay focused on her goals and chase the work she truly believed in. Today, as Bollywood applauds her in unison, Yami Gautam’s moment feels less like sudden success and more like long-overdue recognition—earned patiently, acknowledged at last.
