Director Maruthi is riding high on the success of The Raja Saab, which has emerged as the biggest Sankranthi blockbuster by crossing ₹201 crore gross worldwide within just four days of its release. Calling the achievement deeply satisfying, Maruthi said the numbers reflect genuine audience acceptance across all sections, including families and children. He expressed happiness over the way audiences have embraced Prabhas in a refreshing new avatar and noted that crossing the ₹200 crore mark even before the core festive holidays was a proud moment for the entire team.

Explaining the film’s unique treatment, Maruthi said The Raja Saab was never meant to be a routine festive entertainer. By blending fantasy with psychological elements, he anticipated that the film might take some time to fully connect with viewers. He recalled Prabhas reassuring him during the process, encouraging him to stay calm and confident about the experimental approach. According to Maruthi, the addition of the old-getup sequences helped everything fall perfectly into place.

Maruthi also addressed mixed initial reactions, stating that some audiences expected a lighter film during the festival season. Once the psychological track kicks in, the narrative takes a darker and more layered turn, which may have surprised a section of viewers. He emphasized that he did not want to make a simple horror-comedy with a star like Prabhas and instead opted for a large-scale fantasy-psychological experience.
