Prabhas and The Raja Saab: A Crucial Moment of Reflection

Share

Prabhas remains one of the most influential stars in Indian cinema today. Following the monumental success of Baahubali, he emerged as a true pan-Indian icon, carrying immense expectations with every project he signs. His films are now closely scrutinized by fans and critics alike, all hoping to see him in impactful and memorable roles that match his stature.

In recent years, Prabhas’s career has seen both highs and lows. Films such as Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush faced criticism for their execution, storytelling, and presentation, leading to questions about his script choices. However, Salaar and Kalki: 2898 AD restored confidence among fans, clearly demonstrating that strong direction and well-defined vision are key to showcasing Prabhas effectively on screen.

With a desire to explore something different, Prabhas ventured into the horror-comedy genre with The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi. The film marked a new experiment for the actor and also gave the director an opportunity to handle a star of Prabhas’s scale for the first time. Released amid moderate expectations, the film aimed to present Prabhas in a lighter, more unconventional role.

Following its release, The Raja Saab received a mixed response. While some audiences appreciated Prabhas’s willingness to step outside his comfort zone, others felt the film did not fully capitalize on his strengths. Criticism centered on aspects such as his look, dubbing, styling, visual effects, and the overall execution of the story. Many viewers believed that a stronger narrative and tighter presentation could have elevated the film significantly.

Social media has since been abuzz with discussions, reviews, and divided opinions. Fans, in particular, have voiced concern and expressed hope that Prabhas will take this feedback seriously while selecting future projects. The key question now is whether this criticism will reach the star and influence his upcoming decisions.

Currently, Prabhas is reportedly on a short holiday in Italy and is expected to return after the Sankranthi festival. As one of the biggest stars in the country, how he processes audience feedback and chooses his next films will be crucial in shaping the next phase of his career.

Producer and Telangana Congress leader Bandla Ganesh is set to undertake a long Maha Padayatra from Shadnagar to Tirumala as an act of devotion and gratitude. The spiritual journey is linked to a vow he made during a critical phase in Andhra Pradesh politics.

When former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in the Skill Development case under the previous YSR Congress Party government, Bandla Ganesh prayed to Lord Venkateswara for Naidu’s release without any blemish to his reputation. With Naidu now released and the matter no longer casting a shadow on his image, Bandla Ganesh has decided to fulfill his vow.

The Maha Padayatra will commence on the 19th of this month from Bandla Ganesh’s residence in Shadnagar. He will walk the entire distance to Tirumala, where he will offer prayers and have darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

According to sources, Bandla Ganesh is planning a grand launch for the padayatra, with a large-scale event marking the beginning of the journey. The initiative is expected to attract attention not only for its deep spiritual significance but also for the sheer distance and commitment involved in the walk.

Manchu Manoj’s Auto Ride Moment Wins Hearts on Instagram

Share

Actor Manchu Manoj recently delighted fans by sharing a simple yet heartwarming moment from his personal life on Instagram. In the reel, Manoj is seen travelling in an auto-rickshaw with his wife, Mounika, after his car reportedly broke down unexpectedly. Instead of letting the situation turn stressful, the actor embraced it with ease and humour, choosing an auto ride and even guiding the driver along Hyderabad’s familiar routes.

The video struck a chord with audiences, especially city dwellers who instantly related to the experience. Manoj’s grounded approach and casual interaction reflected an everyday reality that many encounter, making the moment feel authentic and endearing.

Sharing the reel, Manoj added a witty caption: “When the car says ‘not today’… Hyderabad traffic says ‘hop in’.” He also fondly referred to the outing as “Auto Time” with his “one and only,” highlighting the comfort and companionship he shares with his wife. Adding to the charm, Manoj mentioned how Hyderabad’s early mornings and winter weather feel “next level,” making the quiet auto ride even more special.

He concluded the caption with a thoughtful line, “Life happens… love keeps rolling,” perfectly capturing the spirit of the reel. The post not only showcased Manoj’s down-to-earth nature but also offered a refreshing reminder that joy can be found in life’s unplanned moments.

Controversy: The New-Age Publicity Formula in Indian Cinema

Share

The Telugu film industry has steadily positioned itself at the forefront of Indian cinema—both in terms of filmmaking ambition and box office dominance. While scale, star power, and technical finesse have played a major role, a new and striking trend is now shaping the industry’s promotional landscape: controversy as a calculated marketing strategy.

In today’s overcrowded entertainment ecosystem, making a film is no longer the most difficult task. Reaching audiences and sustaining their attention has become the real challenge. With content flooding theatres, OTT platforms, and social media, visibility is the new currency. Traditional promotions demand massive budgets, often running into crores, with no guarantee of impact. To counter this, some filmmakers have adopted a more provocative approach—manufacturing controversy.

A single poster, a teaser frame, or a deliberately bold scene can ignite intense debates online. What begins as criticism quickly snowballs into nationwide attention, amplified by social media algorithms and news coverage. Even when controversies escalate to formal complaints, police notices, or interventions by social bodies, the film gains unprecedented publicity—often at no additional cost.

Filmmakers like Ram Gopal Varma and Sandeep Reddy Vanga have effectively leveraged this phenomenon. From Arjun Reddy to Animal, Vanga’s films faced sharp backlash over their portrayal of masculinity and relationships. Feminist groups, critics, and online audiences strongly opposed the content, yet the sustained discourse only widened the films’ reach. Vanga’s minimal response to criticism further fueled curiosity, reinforcing the idea that outrage translates directly into visibility.

This approach is no longer limited to one genre or ideology. Aditya Dhar’s Dhoorandhar benefitted from political and nationalistic debates that heightened public interest. More recently, the first look of Spirit and the teaser of Toxic triggered similar reactions, proving that criticism is no longer something filmmakers shy away from—it is actively harnessed.

What once threatened a film’s prospects is now being repurposed as a promotional tool. Controversy has evolved from a risk into a strategy, reshaping how films are marketed and consumed. This trend highlights a significant shift in Indian cinema, where attention—positive or negative—has become the ultimate driver of success.

The picture, featuring the couple holding hands and smiling warmly at each other, captured the depth of their bond and drew admiration from fans.

In her emotional caption, Reba described Joemon as her biggest cheerleader, best friend, and life partner. Expressing gratitude for their journey together, she concluded the note with a loving anniversary wish, fondly calling him her “baby” forever. The post quickly resonated with followers, who praised the couple’s chemistry and sincerity.

Reba Monica John is a familiar name across Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada cinema. She rose to prominence after becoming the second runner-up on the reality show Midukki and made her film debut with Jacobinte Swargarajyam in 2016. She later gained nationwide recognition for her role in the Tamil blockbuster Bigil, starring alongside Vijay.

Reba and Joemon Joseph tied the knot on January 9, 2022, after several years of dating. Their elegant Christian wedding ceremony took place in Bengaluru in the presence of close family and friends. Reba wore a classic white wedding gown, while Joemon opted for a black blazer, reflecting the couple’s understated style. The celebrations also included a lively sangeet ceremony prior to the wedding.

Joemon Joseph, who is not associated with the film industry, is a management professional. An MBA graduate from the United States, he works as a consultant with a multinational company and is based in Bengaluru. He comes from a business family and is known for his interests in fitness, travel, football, and pets. The couple shares their home with their golden retriever, Bruno.

Reba and Joemon first met through a mutual friend, with their friendship gradually blossoming into love. Raja Saab Song Faces Plagiarism Allegations

Share

Prabhas made a grand return to theatres with Raja Saab, which released worldwide on January 9. While the film opened to strong attention, it has now landed in controversy over one of its songs. The track Naache Naache has come under scrutiny after a Sweden-based DJ and music producer, Vidojin, alleged that the tune bears a close resemblance to his independent song Naache Naache Beat, released in 2024.

Taking to social media, Vidojin claimed that his composition was created and shared publicly well before the movie song was announced. He urged listeners to compare both tracks and judge the similarities for themselves, raising questions about originality. As a symbolic protest, the DJ reportedly displayed slippers online, drawing further attention to the issue.

Vidojin clarified that his allegations are not directed at Prabhas, stating that the actor has no involvement in music-related decisions. He also praised Prabhas, calling him a talented performer with a massive fan following. Raja Saab is directed by Maruti, with music composed by Thaman, one of Telugu cinema’s most prominent music directors.

As of now, the film’s makers have not issued an official response to the claims. Reactions among Prabhas’ fans remain divided, with some dismissing the allegations and others demanding clarity from the team. With the song continuing to trend online, it remains to be seen whether the makers will respond or allow the controversy to settle on its own.

Parasakthi Controversy: Offensive Language Sparks Outrage

Share

The reported use of the derogatory term “Golti” in the Tamil version of Parasakthi has sparked serious concern and outrage, particularly among Telugu-speaking audiences. The word is not harmless slang but a long-standing pejorative used to demean and stereotype the Telugu community in Tamil Nadu. Its inclusion—used more than once—in a mainstream commercial film is deeply troubling and reflects a glaring lack of cultural sensitivity.

What makes the situation even more disappointing is the stature of the individuals involved. Director Sudha Kongara, herself of Telugu origin, is expected to be acutely aware of the historical and emotional weight such language carries. Instead, its presence in the film feels like a painful contradiction of responsibility and awareness. Likewise, Sivakarthikeyan, who enjoys strong support and goodwill from Telugu audiences, appears to have overlooked the impact such dialogue would have on a community that has consistently embraced his work.

Cinema is a powerful medium capable of bridging linguistic and cultural divides. When used irresponsibly, however, it can just as easily reinforce prejudice and alienation. At a time when audiences increasingly demand inclusivity, respect, and accountability, resorting to offensive terminology under the guise of realism or creative freedom feels regressive and unacceptable.

Creative expression does not grant immunity from responsibility. When a film normalizes language that insults an entire linguistic group, it crosses a line that cannot be ignored. A public acknowledgment of the mistake and a sincere apology from the makers are the bare minimum steps required to address the hurt caused. Silence or defensiveness will only deepen the divide and undermine the unifying potential of cinema.

Allu Arjun–Lokesh Kanagaraj Film to Embrace Hyderabadi Backdrop

Share

The buzz around Pushpa star Allu Arjun and acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ambitious collaboration continues to intensify, with industry chatter pointing toward a major official announcement soon. While the project is expected to be a high-octane gangster drama in Lokesh’s signature style, an interesting creative development has now caught attention.

According to reports, Allu Arjun has expressed a strong preference for the film’s setting, requesting that nearly 50 percent of the shoot take place in Hyderabad. This marks a notable departure from Lokesh Kanagaraj’s usual visual canvas, as most of his previous films have been largely shot in Chennai, barring Leo, which featured locations like Kashmir and Manali. The actor reportedly wants the film to carry strong Hyderabadi vibes—something rarely explored by top stars in recent times.

Sources suggest that Lokesh Kanagaraj has agreed to this condition, and his team has already begun location recce in Hyderabad. From a production standpoint, shooting extensively in the actor’s home city also offers practical advantages, including smoother logistics, tighter scheduling, and better cost control. Additionally, with large-scale indoor sequences increasingly being filmed at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad naturally becomes an efficient and visually rich base for the project.

If this collaboration materializes as expected, the blend of Lokesh’s gritty storytelling and Allu Arjun’s mass appeal, set against a Hyderabadi backdrop, could offer a refreshing cinematic experience.

Why The Raja Saab Missed #OG’s Premiere Record

Share

Ahead of Superstar Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, industry watchers expected the film to rewrite several box-office benchmarks, including the record-setting premiere collections of Pawan Kalyan’s #OG. However, that milestone has remained out of reach, and the reasons are largely circumstantial rather than reflective of Prabhas’ market strength.

When #OG released in September 2025, it benefitted from extraordinary pre-release momentum. Director Sujeeth’s slick and stylish trailer, coupled with a pulsating background score, generated massive buzz. Crucially, ticket price hikes were permitted in both Telugu states, enabling the film to rake in an impressive ₹20–23 crore from global premiere shows alone.

The Raja Saab, on the other hand, faced a different scenario. While anticipation around the film was strong, the urgency and frenzy to grab premiere tickets did not match the fever pitch seen during #OG. More importantly, the Telangana government did not allow ticket hikes for premiere shows. This regulatory hurdle significantly capped the film’s premiere-day earnings, preventing it from challenging #OG’s record.

With the Telangana High Court having made stern observations regarding ticket price hikes, the possibility of surpassing #OG’s premiere collections appears unlikely in the near future. Unless exceptional interventions occur—potentially for mega-budget projects helmed by filmmakers like SS Rajamouli, such as the much-discussed Vaaranaasi—the #OG premiere record is expected to stand firm.

Aishwarya Rajesh Unveils Damini Look in Oh..! Sukumari

Thiru Veer and Aishwarya Rajesh, both coming off blockbuster successes in their most recent outings, are teaming up for the first time in the upcoming film Oh..! Sukumari. Billed as a full-fledged entertainer set against a colourful rural backdrop, the film marks the directorial debut of Bharat Dharshan.

Marking Aishwarya Rajesh’s birthday, the makers unveiled her first-look poster, introducing her as Damini. Presented in a traditional village avatar, the actress is seen mid-run, sporting a determined yet slightly anxious expression. The striking visual hints at a lively and chaotic moment, while also capturing the essence of Damini as a strong, independent woman rooted in grit and resilience.

The poster effectively reflects the film’s rustic charm and spirited tone, raising curiosity around Aishwarya Rajesh’s character and the narrative set in a vibrant village milieu.

Oh..! Sukumari is produced by Maheswara Reddy Mooli under the Gangaa Entertainments banner, with music composed by Bharath Manchiraju.

Pirated Version of Prabhas’ The Raja Saab Played at US Restaurant, Video Goes Viral

Share

Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab, which hit theatres worldwide yesterday, is already facing a major piracy-related controversy. The film had special premieres a day earlier in the USA and select locations in the Telugu states, where Prabhas films are celebrated almost like Sankranthi or Dasara releases.

In a shocking development, a video has surfaced on social media showing a North Indian restaurant in Ohio, USA, allegedly playing a pirated version of The Raja Saab on its television screens. The incident reportedly took place at a restaurant located in Dublin city, Ohio.

An Instagram user shared the video online, expressing disbelief over how the restaurant management managed to obtain an illegal print of the film within just a day of its release. The user also pointed out that publicly screening a pirated copy is a serious offence and could attract legal action under anti-piracy laws.

This incident has raised eyebrows, especially at a time when the Indian film industry believes it is gaining ground in its fight against piracy. Recently, authorities arrested Ravi, the prime accused behind the infamous iBomma piracy website, which was considered a significant breakthrough for the Telugu film industry.

The controversy has sparked strong reactions online, with many arguing that piracy is not a “small mistake” but a serious crime that directly harms filmmakers, producers, distributors, and thousands of daily-wage workers who depend on cinema. Viewers have demanded strict action against the restaurant management for allegedly encouraging piracy and disrespecting the hard work behind big-scale films like The Raja Saab.

Given that Prabhas films often carry massive budgets and emotional investment from fans—much like a festival release in Telugu households—such incidents are being seen as particularly damaging.

As of now, there has been no official statement from the film’s makers or US authorities. More details are awaited as the issue continues to gain traction online.

After generating early buzz with its title announcement and pre-look, the makers today unveiled the film’s first look poster. Adding to the significance of the launch, Superstar Mahesh Babu officially released the first look of his nephew’s debut film.

The poster presents Jaya Krishna in a striking and rugged avatar. Sporting curly hair and a fierce expression, he is seen riding a motorcycle in the middle of high-octane action. Dressed in a black T-shirt and wristband, he grips a gun aimed forward, while dust trails and dynamic speed lines heighten the adrenaline-filled visual. The first look establishes him as a determined and intense protagonist, hinting at a raw and powerful character.

Director Ajay Bhupathi appears to be crafting yet another gripping narrative, introducing Jaya Krishna in a full-fledged action-packed role. Alongside the action, the film is said to feature a strong and emotionally engaging love story. Rasha Thadani makes her Telugu debut with Srinivasa Mangapuram, playing the female lead opposite Jaya Krishna.

Veteran producer Ashwini Dutt, known for launching several big stars, is presenting the film, which is being produced by P Kiran under the Chandamama Kathalu banner. On the technical front, acclaimed composer GV Prakash Kumar is on board as the music director, while Jayakrishna ISC handles the cinematography.

Puri Jagannadh & Vijay Sethupathi’s Telugu Project Raises Curiosity

Share

Fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on the much-anticipated collaboration between filmmaker Puri Jagannadh and actor Vijay Sethupathi. While official details remain under wraps, fresh information about the project has begun to surface, generating significant buzz—especially since it is being made exclusively in Telugu. Earlier reports suggested that the film might explore a Money Heist-style narrative and could be titled Slumdog, though Jagannadh has yet to confirm the title officially.

According to a source close to the project, the story is set in a jhopadpatti—a colony inhabited by economically marginalised people. Vijay Sethupathi’s character is said to take shelter as a tenant in the home of a Muslim woman living in the colony. The source revealed that the entire colony of beggars is constructed around her character, with Sethupathi also portraying a beggar. What unfolds next forms the crux of the story.

On the creative front, the source shared that the team has worked extensively on the look and detailing of the woman’s character, as well as the residents of the colony, to ensure authenticity. While the on-ground shoot has already been completed, post-production and dubbing have not yet begun.

As fans eagerly await an official announcement regarding the film’s title and release schedule, the delay has only heightened curiosity and expectations surrounding this intriguing Puri Jagannadh–Vijay Sethupathi collaboration.
