Business Strategy Behind ‘Salaar’ Rights!

‘Salaar’ is a full-on action film starring Prabhas in the lead role while ‘KGF’ fame Prasanth Neel is directing it. Produced by Homebale Films, the first part of this story will be released on 28th September. The Telugu theatrical rights of this film were sold for 180 crores as per reports and it is a mind-boggling number.

In fact, the production house did not sell ‘KGF 2’ and ‘Kantara’. Without any advance, they distributed it with the nominal commission. Now, they are looking to sell the theatrical rights of ‘Salaar’ to higher prizes which surprised many. Sources say that the decision taken by OTT platforms is the reason for it.

Apparently, noted OTT platforms have lost heavily by spending hundreds of crores on big films which ended up being failures. After these setbacks, they have internally decided not to spend more than 125 crores. No matter how big the hero is or how big the hype is, they have reportedly decided that 125 crores is the line that will not be crossed.

Due to this, the makers have reportedly decided to sell the theatrical rights of ‘Salaar’ for high rates in order to get the investment back. Also, movies like ‘Salaar’ and ‘Project K’ are being made in two parts which means that spending 125 crores on each part will be a huge loss for OTT platforms.

Shruti Hassan is the female lead in this film while Ravi Basrur is composing the music. Homebale Films are bankrolling this project. The other technical team includes Ujwal Kulkarni, Karthik, Ramarao, Anbariv, Bhuvan Gowda, Shiva Kumar and others. Jagapathi Babu is playing a key role in this movie and so is Malayalam star hero Prithviraj Sukumaran.

When someone gets an opportunity to work with Megastar Chiranjeevi, they take it without any second thought. It is mainly because he is a legend who everyone grew up watching. But young hero Siddu Jonnalagadda politely refused the offer where he could share the screen with Chiranjeevi. This has become a hot topic in the tinsel town.

After ‘Bholaa Shankar’, Chiranjeevi is going to work under Kalyan Krishna Kurasala’s direction. Sushmita Konidela will be producing this family entertainer and Sreeleela was also fixed as the heroine beside Siddu Jonnalagadda. Though he was positive at the beginning, the ‘DJ Tillu’ hero changed his mind as per reports. While many say that it is a remake of ‘Bro Daddy’, people close to the movie unit deny this news.

While it may surprise a lot of people, many say that it is the right move. As we know, the entire focus will be on Megastar if he is in the film. From the audience to the directors, everyone will be concentrated on the legendary actor and the rest will be ignored. This will not help Siddu’s career at all. Talented actor Satyadev accepted the offer of working with Chiru in ‘Godfather’ happily but it did not fuel his career. He did not get any significant roles or offers from big directors after that. All he had was the satisfaction of working with Megastar himself.

The situation is different for Ravi Teja as he is a star himself and anything he does in an extended cameo will please the audience. But Siddu has been working a lot to preserve the craze he attained through ‘DJ Tillu’. Apart from ‘Tillu Square’, he did not take up any other project. He was supposed to work with Nandini Reddy but the failure of ‘Anni Manchi Sakunamule’ made him a bit skeptical. When he is making such careful moves, accepting Chiru’s film in which he will be completely overshadowed is not the right decision according to many.

‘Double Ismart’ Begins In Mumbai With An Action Scene!

The super hit combination of Ustaad Ram Pothineni and dashing director Puri Jagannadh is back again. After a blockbuster like ‘Ismart Shankar’, the duo has officially announced the beginning of their new project ‘Double Ismart’. His makeover for this project has amazed everyone already. The star hero looked dapper and crazy just like in ‘Ismart Shankar’.

As announced, the regular shooting commenced in Mumbai today. The team kicked off the shooting in style by filming a key action sequence. This massive scene has Ram and fighters battling it out in a huge set. Stunt choreographer Kecha who worked with Puri many times since his ‘Iddarammayilatho’ days in working on it. Hollywood cinematographer Gianni Giannelli is working for this high-voltage action entertainer.

In this working still, we can see Puri, Kecha and Gianni smiling while Ram is seen sitting behind them. His styling once again catches attention. Double iSmart is being made on a high budget with technically high standards. The makers will reveal the other cast and crew of the movie soon.

As we are aware, Charmme and Puri will be bankrolling the project while Vishu Reddy is the CEO. The movie will release on 8th March 2024 on the auspicious day of Maha Shivaratri. The movie will have a pan-Indian release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. It is well known that Ram has worked on Boyapati’s mass entertainer ‘Skanda’ till recently and it is going to hit the screens on September 15th.

Top Production House Gets Nizam Rights For ‘BRO’!

With no big releases this month, the stage is perfectly set for Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘BRO’ to light up the box office. This fantasy drama directed by Samuthirakani is a remake of ‘Vinodhaya Sitham’ and there are good expectations on this film. Though ‘My Dear Markandeya’ did not get a positive response from the audience, the team are hopeful that the aura of Mega heroes is enough to get huge collections on the first weekend.

The promotions are not quite aggressive and the pre-release business of this movie is superb. The producers are selling the theatrical rights of ‘BRO’ for fancy rates and the latest reports suggest that Mythri Movie Makers who ventured into distribution recently have grabbed the Nizam rights of this crazy movie. Apparently, they have spent 33 crores on this movie and are hoping to make good profits from the film.

People Media Factory is bankrolling this project on a high budget. Sujith Vaasudev is the director of photography while star director Trivikram penned the screenplay and dialogues. The rest of the cast includes Ketika Sharma, Priya Prakash Varrier, Samuthirakani, Rohini, Rajeswari Nair, Raja, Tanikella Bharani, Vennela Kishore, Subbaraju, Prudhvi Raj, Narra Srinu, Yuva Lakshmi, Devika, Ali Reza and Surya Srinivas.

Other than ‘BRO’, Pawan Kalyan is working on ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ under Harish Shankar’s direction as well. There are no updates regarding his period drama ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ while his action thriller ‘OG’ under Sujeeth’s direction is also on the floors.

Thalapathy Vijay To Embark On Padayatra Across The State?

The Film industry and politics are co-related. A few film stars ventured into politics and shined there. Compared to the other states, the trend is very relevant in the South. If we take Tamil Nadu as an example, Jayalalithaa, M. G. Ramachandran, and Kamal Haasan took the political path.

While Jayalalithaa and MGR shined and became Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Kamal Haasan is yet to prove himself. Another Superstar Rajinikanth also came very close to take the political path. But he backed out citing health reasons. One top star is said to be focused on this.

Of late, we are hearing that Thalapathy Vijay might enter politics. He recently met members of the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI). Following this, a debate is going on that Vijay might embark on a padayatra. The news had created a sensation in the state.

Vijay is expected to start a state-wide padayatra soon before taking the big step into the political spectrum. Though there is no official statement on this, there is a big buzz around the possible state-wide padayatra.

What Vijay is doing is raising many eyeballs. Recently, the star hero met the students who topped the 10th and 12th exams and facilitated them. An event was held to facilitate the topper in the Assembly constituencies in the state.

Vijay is not just a top star but also the most bankable star. If he has to focus on full-time politics, he has to put an end to his film career. We have to wait and see what happens next.

Padayatra has a big history and those who went on a yatra became the Chief Ministers. We have seen this with YSR, Chandrababu Naidu, and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Telugu land. Maybe Vijay wants to take the same path.

Cheating Case Slapped on Sai Surya Real-Estate Company!

A real-estate company that took money from customers to sell plots is said to have cheated them. The company did not hand over the flats. The Real-estate company reportedly collected crores of money from the customers in the name of the ventures. The Real-estate company is based in Hyderabad.

As per the media reports that are doing rounds, Hyd-based Real-estate company Sai Surya Developers reportedly cheated the customers by taking money from them. Superstar Mahesh Babu is the brand ambassador of the company. His family appeared in the ad.

If we have to take anything from the media reports, the real-estate company took money from the customers to give plots in return. The management reportedly assured the customers of handing over the flats by 2022. But that did not happen and customers started getting doubts.

So the customers started demanding their money back. But there is no response from them. Seeing this, the customers filed a police complaint under a few sections with the Madhura Nagar police station. They are demanding their money back and strict action. A complaint was filed by company owner Satish Chandra Gupta reportedly.

Reports also said that the Real-estate company made a sale deed with a third party without the customers’ notice. The company reportedly collected over Rs 3 crores from 11 customers. A cheating case has been filed against the real-estate firm.

Customers invested crores of rupees in the venture hoping that they would get the flats to move in. The company assured the customers that the flats will be handed over by 2022 December.

Earlier, a few FIRs were filed against Mahender Singh Dhoni as the buyers who gave money for the homes built by the real estate group Amrapali did not get the flats. Saying that they brought flats seeing Dhoni, they filed the complaint.

SRK Thanks Sethupathi For Tamil Classes!

The prevue of ‘Jawan’ was met with a thunderous response all over the world. It gained over 125 million views across YouTube already and the mind-boggling visuals made everyone very excited. Star Tamil director Atlee made a high-octane commercial action flick with King Khan and the mass moments in the prevue were quite astonishing. Paired with Anirudh’s superb background music, Shah Rukh Khan was presented in the best way possible. He was seen sporting various looks throughout the video.

After the teaser’s release, SRK took to social media and thanked some of the key team members. Talking about Vijay Sethupathi, he said, “Sir an honour to work with you. Thanks for teaching me a bit of Tamil on sets & the delicious food u got. Love un Nanba.” It looks like SRK took a few Tamil speaking classes from Sethupathi and we need to see if the ‘DDLJ’ actor uses them during promotions or not.

Talking about his director Atlee, he said, “Sirrrrrr!!! Maaasssssss!! Your are da man!!!! Thank u for everything and making sure the A K Meer gave his inputs along with Priya!! Love u all.” He went onto thank choreographer Sobhi master. He said, “Thank u @shobimaster for making me dance like a cool hero. Please give my love to your whole team. I tried my best…” Talking about Sunil Grover, who was not shown in the teaser, SRK wrote, “Thank u my ‘Guthi’ too much fun having u on this journey. You are so good in the film! Love u.” He even thanked DOP Vishnu as well.

The prevue of ‘Jawan’ was appreciated all over and even Salman Khan praised it by saying, “Pathan jawan ban gaya, outstanding trailer, absolutely loved it. Now this is the kind of a movie we should see in theatres only. I toh for sure seeing it 1st day ko hi. Mazaa ahh gaya wahhhhh..” The movie will have Nayanthara playing the lead while Deepika Padukone is going to have a special appearance. It is coming out on 7th September 2023.
