Chiranjeevi Gets Emotional, Calls Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu a Special Film

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi has expressed immense happiness and emotional attachment towards Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, as revealed during the film’s pre-release event. The legendary actor shared heartfelt thoughts about the film, its team, and the memorable journey he experienced while working on the project.

Chiranjeevi began his speech by extending his best wishes to all the Sankranti releases, saying, “Let Sankranti 2026 be unforgettable for Telugu cinema. This festive season is bringing films that families will truly enjoy. I urge everyone to watch them only in theatres.”

Recalling how the project took shape, Chiru mentioned that veteran director Raghavendra Rao had praised Anil Ravipudi’s comic timing and storytelling abilities years ago, and fittingly, this film began with his blessings. “When Anil narrated the story, I immediately liked it because it had all the essential elements. When I suggested trying something different, Anil firmly said, ‘No… you must play this character in your classic style,’” Chiranjeevi revealed.

The Megastar went on to praise Anil Ravipudi’s preparation and vision, stating that the director referred to several scenes and moments from his earlier films to bring out the vintage Chiranjeevi magic. “Working with Anil has been a wonderful experience. On the final day of the shoot, I became very emotional. I’ve never felt that way before,” he added.

Chiranjeevi also expressed confidence in the film’s success, noting that it has already become a “super hit at the production level.” “The film was completed on time, within budget, and we achieved our first victory. The second victory now lies in the hands of the audience,” he said.

Speaking fondly about co-star Venkatesh, Chiru described him as deeply philosophical and wise beyond his age. “He feels like a compact-sized guru to me. He balances cinema and personal life beautifully. We enjoyed every moment working together—it was endless fun,” he shared.

Music director Bheems Ceciroleo also received special appreciation from the Megastar. Chiranjeevi praised the composer for delivering organic and energetic music, with clearly audible lyrics. He also highlighted a special rap song composed by Bheems, calling it one of the film’s major attractions.

Concluding his speech, Chiranjeevi extended his best wishes to producers Sahu Garapati and Sushmita Konidela, expressing gratitude for their support and commitment to the project.

CBFC Hurdles Delay Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Release

Share

Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, which was announced as the actor’s final on-screen appearance before his full-time entry into politics, has hit an unexpected roadblock ahead of its release. While the film was initially expected to arrive as scheduled, certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) have forced the makers to postpone the release.

According to reports, a member of the CBFC wrote to the chairman stating that his objections were not properly recorded before the committee arrived at its recommendation. Soon after the Madras High Court reserved its order on a petition challenging the CBFC’s decision to withhold the censor certificate, the makers officially announced the postponement, leaving fans disappointed and the industry on edge.

With Jana Nayagan delayed, attention has now shifted to Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi. Interestingly, the situation bears similarities to the issues faced by Parasakthi as well. The CBFC screening committee is said to have suggested around 23 cuts, and the makers are reportedly awaiting the final certification, which is expected to be issued soon.

The delay in receiving the certificate appears to be the reason behind the absence of an official censor announcement so far. With just a day left for release, it would be crucial for the team to issue clarity on the film’s censor status at the earliest.

Directed by Sudha Kongara, Parasakthi carries massive expectations at the box office, and a timely certification will be key in determining its release prospects.

Chiru’s ‘Hook Step’ Sets Sankranti Buzz on Fire

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sankranti release Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu has received a massive boost in hype just at the right time ahead of its theatrical release on January 12, thanks to the whistle-worthy instant chartbuster ‘Hook Step’, which was unveiled on Wednesday.

Chiranjeevi’s electrifying dance moves, combined with his vintage grace and effortless swag, have struck a perfect balance between nostalgia and contemporary appeal. The modern beats and catchy lyrics further elevate the song, turning it into an instant rage within minutes of its release. Not just Mega fans, but audiences across all sections have been raving about Chiru’s unmatched charm, style, and screen presence.

The response to the Hook Step lyrical video has been overwhelming, with social media flooded with fan-made edits celebrating Chiranjeevi’s iconic dance style from his timeless classics. Composer Bheems Ceciroleo delivers a foot-tapping tune, while Baba Sehgal’s distinctive vocals add extra energy to the track. Earlier, the first song Meesala Pilla emerged as a blockbuster and played a key role in building strong buzz around this full-fledged entertainer.

While the trailer and the much-hyped Chiru–Venky song received a decent response, Hook Step has completely tilted the momentum in the film’s favour. Special credit goes to choreographer Aata Sandeep, who has successfully brought out Chiranjeevi in his prime form through this high-energy number.

With less than a week to go for its grand release, the phenomenal reception to Hook Step is expected to translate into strong festival buzz and solid opening numbers at the box office, despite stiff competition from other Sankranti releases. If the film manages to secure positive word of mouth, Tollywood could witness a full-fledged box office storm led by Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film stars Nayanthara as the female lead and is set to hit theatres on January 12.

Yash’s Toxic Teaser: Stylish, Dark & Power-Packed Return

Share

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Rocking Star Yash in the lead, is one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. Coming right after the massive success of the KGF franchise, expectations around the film are naturally sky-high. While the project has also drawn attention due to repeated delays, the makers have now reignited excitement by unveiling a teaser on the occasion of Yash’s birthday, introducing his character Raya.

Billed as a period gangster drama, the teaser offers a stylish glimpse into the dark and intriguing world of Toxic. It opens at a graveyard, where a group of gangsters discuss the return of a feared figure. As tension builds, they notice a strangely shaking car parked outside. What follows is an unexpected reveal — Yash’s character is inside the car, passionately kissing a woman. Just as the gang prepares for confrontation, a sudden explosion rocks the scene, throwing everyone into chaos. Emerging from the car in trademark style, Yash makes a powerful statement: “Daddy’s home.”

Living up to its tagline, A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, the teaser clearly hints at intense, adult-oriented content, likely earning the film an A certificate from the censor board. Visually, the teaser is grand, slick, and technically superior. The scale and finesse of the making come as a surprise, especially since director Geethu Mohandas has not previously attempted a project of this magnitude. The production values, cinematography, and overall technical output stand out.

However, the strong dose of violence and the bold car sequence may limit the film’s appeal among family audiences. Given that such a stylized portrayal of intimacy comes from a female filmmaker, it will be interesting to see how critics and netizens respond. Smartly, the makers have kept the plot details tightly under wraps, allowing the teaser to focus purely on mood, character, and spectacle — a move that has successfully generated solid buzz around the project.

Toxic boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi, and Sudev Nair in key roles. The film is scheduled to hit the big screens on March 19, 2026.

AR Rahman Rumored for Chiranjeevi’s Mega158

Share

When Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman was brought on for Ram Charan’s Peddi, opinions were mixed. However, the runaway success of the song “Chikiri Chikiri”, composed by the Mozart of Madras, has changed the narrative—suggesting that many more Telugu stars could seek Rahman’s musical magic in the near future.

Strong Tollywood buzz now indicates that AR Rahman is in consideration for Megastar Chiranjeevi’s next project, tentatively titled #Mega158, to be directed by KS Bobby, famed for Waltair Veerayya. If this collaboration materializes, it would mark the first-ever official partnership between Chiranjeevi and AR Rahman.

Interestingly, the idea isn’t entirely new. Back in the 90s, had Chiranjeevi accepted S. Shankar’s Oke Okkadu, Rahman’s compositions could have entered his filmography. However, when Shankar’s Gentleman was remade in Hindi, the original Rahman tunes were retained, but it didn’t count as a direct collaboration with Chiranjeevi.

Now, after Ram Charan’s “Chikiri Chikiri” became a pan-India chartbuster, crossing 200 million views on YouTube across all languages, Rahman’s unique ability to blend rooted Indian sounds with global sensibilities has made him a hot choice in Telugu cinema.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see if the Chiru–Rahman combo will finally become a reality, potentially creating a historic musical moment in Tollywood.

Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Release Postponed

Share

The highly anticipated release of Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has been officially postponed, just two days before its original theatrical release. The announcement came on January 7 from the film’s overseas distributors in Europe and Malaysia.

In a statement shared on X, the distributors explained:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the initial release of Jana Nayagan, scheduled for January 9, 2026, has been postponed to a later date. We are awaiting updates from the production team. Once the new release date is finalized, official announcements will be made through authorized platforms.”

They also appealed to fans to remain calm amid the uncertainty, urging supporters not to engage with unverified information and to be patient while arrangements are still underway. The note called for unity and responsible behavior as a resolution is awaited.

The postponement comes amid a legal issue regarding the film’s certification. On Wednesday, the Madras High Court reserved its verdict on the originally scheduled release date after the makers sought legal clarity on the censor process. The court directed that Jana Nayagan be reviewed by a fresh committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The original Tamil version must receive certification before approvals can be granted for the dubbed Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada versions, effectively putting the film’s release on hold.

The producers approached the court after the film failed to secure certification despite being submitted over a month ago. Earlier, on December 19, the CBFC reportedly suggested certain cuts and muted dialogues.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Narain. Touted as Thalapathy Vijay’s final film before his full-time entry into politics, the project now faces its biggest hurdle as fans await clarity on a new release date.

Chiru–Venky Steal the Show at Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu Event

The Mega Victory Pre-Release Event of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu was held in Hyderabad with grand fanfare, graced by two stalwarts of Telugu cinema—Megastar Chiranjeevi and Victory Venkatesh. The event turned into a celebration of cinema, camaraderie, and Sankranthi spirit.

Producer Sahu Garapati expressed heartfelt gratitude to director Anil Ravipudi for making the dream collaboration possible. “Last Sankranthi, Anil shook the box office. This Sankranthi, he’s going to redefine it. That’s the confidence we have. The entire team worked relentlessly to bring the film on time,” he said.

Producer Sushmita Konidela called the project a landmark moment in her journey. “Releasing a film during Sankranthi itself is special, but doing it with my father is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thanks to Venkatesh and Nayanthara, the film has reached another level. Anil Ravipudi is the backbone of this movie,” she said. She also shared an emotional note on Ram Charan, adding, “My biggest love to Charan—he always checks on me to see if I’m doing okay.”

Director Anil Ravipudi brought the house down when he joined Baba Sehgal on stage for a live performance of the chartbuster ‘Hook Step’, electrifying the audience. Thanking the producers, he said, “Sahu Garapati and Sushmita Konidela believed in this film from day one and carried it forward with complete trust. Bheems Ceciroleo has delivered his best album, and everyone should applaud him.”

He further thanked Nayanthara for her unwavering support, noting her participation in promotional content even during the industry strike. Speaking about Venkatesh, Anil said, “He is not just a friend but a guide. His positivity and sporting nature define his greatness. People are already discussing his role in many ways. The main reason he agreed to this film is Chiranjeevi. He appears as Venky Gowda from Karnataka in the film.”

Sharing his emotional journey with the Megastar, Anil added, “Working with Chiranjeevi garu is a dream for many. He has achieved everything—even a Guinness World Record. Watching different shades of his classic characters come alive every day on set was magical. On the final day of the shoot, he hugged me warmly—a moment I’ll cherish forever.”

Calling the film a complete festive entertainer, Anil concluded, “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is a wholesome feast packed with comedy, emotion, music, dance, and sentiment in perfect balance. Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh came together to give Telugu audiences a grand Sankranthi treat. I hope I get the opportunity someday to direct a full-fledged film with both of them.”

Viral Call Hypes Prabhas’ Career-Best Act in The Raja Saab

Share

A call recording featuring distributor Shashi is currently going viral on social media, creating strong buzz around The Raja Saab. Shashi, who reportedly watched the film, shared intriguing insights into its content, sparking excitement among fans.

According to him, Prabhas delivers one of the finest performances of his career, showcasing multiple shades of his acting prowess. He remarked that while Prabhas’ 24-year journey has been filled with memorable roles, The Raja Saab feels like a culmination of all those performances, blending every strength the star is known for into a single, powerful act.

Shashi further noted that the film carries the classic mass vibe reminiscent of vintage Chiranjeevi entertainers, particularly echoing the energetic spirit of Donga Mogudu, but presented in a fresh and contemporary style.

He also revealed that Prabhas’ much-talked-about cigar scene has currently been trimmed and is expected to be added back from January 15. Among the standout moments, he specifically highlighted a hospital sequence, calling it deeply emotional and a major performance high point. According to him, the last 30 minutes of the film are set to be the biggest highlight, leaving a lasting impact.

Notably, he emphasized that the film doesn’t rely solely on Prabhas’ star power. Sanjay Dutt, Zarina Wahab, and Satya also shine in their respective roles, emerging as heroes in their own right with strong screen presence.

Shashi concluded by saying that audiences might walk out of theatres feeling almost surreal, questioning whether they truly witnessed Prabhas on screen, and feeling compelled to return for repeat viewings. With its blend of mass appeal and emotional depth, The Raja Saab is expected to be a complete family entertainer during the Sankranti season.

If these reactions go beyond personal opinion and strike a chord with the wider audience, The Raja Saab could well emerge as a thumping box-office success. The film is set to hit the big screens with paid premieres on January 8.

Chiru’s Hook Step Brings Back Vintage Mass Energy

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming wholesome entertainer Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi, is shaping up to be a perfect blend of family emotions and high-voltage mass moments. The recently released track “Hook Step” is a clear indication of what fans can expect.

Composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, the song crackles with raw mass folk energy, smartly fused with contemporary electronic elements. Thumping percussion forms the backbone, steadily building momentum before exploding into an electrifying crescendo that instantly evokes memories of Chiranjeevi’s iconic 90s chartbusters.

Lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry goes all-out with unapologetically mass lyrics, while the biggest nostalgia boost comes from Baba Sehgal. Once synonymous with Chiru’s blockbuster dance numbers, Baba’s energetic vocals inject a retro vibe that seamlessly blends with the modern soundscape.

Chiranjeevi, sporting a refreshingly youthful look, effortlessly reclaims his trademark swagger. His impeccable timing and natural ease elevate the song, while the choreography cleverly weaves in subtle callbacks to his legendary dance moves—making every hook step a guaranteed fan moment.

Overall, “Hook Step” is tailor-made for the big screen—vibrant, nostalgic, and pulsating with energy. It’s the kind of number that’s bound to set theatres on fire and send fans into a frenzy.
