Annapurna Photo Studio: Interesting Period Love Drama
Period love dramas are a fresh subject and they tend to have the patronage of the Telugu audience if they are presented in the right manner. Here’s a new film that falls under this category.
The said film is Annapurna Photo Studio. The makers of this Chaitanya Rao starrer have dropped the trailer for the film and it clearly implies that this film is a rooted love drama.
We are shown the Godavari districts aesthetic as the film is set in this backdrop and this has a good feel. Then comes the love drama part as Chaitanya, an ANR fan who is running a photo studio tries to woo a girl.
The film appears to be a coagulation of emotions, love, drama, and comedy. There is some freshness in the presentation which could help the film if it contains enough of it to bring audience to theaters.
Then there’s the mystery track towards the end which also looks interesting. The film is backed by Yash Rangineni, who is regarded as a tasteful producer and this will help the cause as well.
The film is directed by Chendu Muddu and it is a proper period love drama. The makers will be dropping an official update on the release date very so
Manu Charitra Movie Review
The only notable movie that hit the theaters this weekend is “Manu Charitra”, starring Shiva Kandukuri.
Let’s weigh its merits and demerits.
Story:
In Warangal, Manu (Shiva Kandukuri) works for the rowdy Rudra (Daali Dhananjay). Manu approaches and proposes to gorgeous girls. He splits them up once they agree to his love.
When a girl calls him a cheater, Manu’s pal Nandu (Suhas) explains why he became that way.
Manu was a good student who liked a Christian girl named Jennifer (Megha Akash) but she left him owing to several incidents.
To forget her, he seeks to find love again but could not do so. But Manu’s life takes a dramatic change when he meets Jaanu (Pragathi Shrivastav).
Will he ever be able to forget Jennifer? Will Jennifer re-enter his life?
Artistes’ Performances:
Shiva Kandukuri appears in different shades, including a dedicated student and an alcoholic devadas. While he appears neatly in the role of a student in Megha Akash’s love episode, he doesn’t fit in with the ‘Arjun Reddy’ shade of character. First and foremost, Shiva Kandukuri neither has the body language nor acting skills to play such roles.
Megha Akash convincingly portrays a typical small-town decent girl. There are several actresses, but none of them make any distinct impression.
Pragathi Shirvastav’s character, Jaanu, appears and acts immature way.
Technical Excellence:
Gopi Sundar has given music. Two songs are okay. Cinematography is adequate. Nothing much to talk about other technical departments.

Analysis
Since “Arjun Reddy” became a cult hit in the Telugu cinema industry, young actors have tried to imitate the protagonist’s style – wearing a beard, continually drinking and smoking, and behaving violently.
The film has had such an impact on the young filmmakers that they believe that simply scripting a story about a protagonist who resorts to drinking to avoid forgetting the girl he loves is enough to make a captivating viewing.
What they are overlooking is the soul of “Arjun Reddy” and why the film’s content clicked with the youngsters.
“Manu Charitra,” set in Warangal, features a protagonist who, like Vijay Deverakonda in “Arjun Reddy,” fell in love with a girl in college and is unable to forget her even after two years.
The title refers to Manu’s story. Manu is the name of the hero in this story. However, this story is so sloppy and confused that it only superficially mimics the style of “Arjun Reddy”.
The hero is proposing to and breaking up with girls in order to forget his true love Jennifer, played by Megha Akash. However, in the second half, the same protagonist falls in love with a girl who, like Jennifer, had made prayers to God.
In a parallel to the hero’s love stories, we witness a fierce political competition between two leaders, and the assassination of the city’s mayor consumes a great deal of drama. The entire second half of the film bores us to death.
The film’s most serious flaw is its aimless plot. At the end of the climax, you wonder what the director was trying to tell all through.
“Manu Charitra” is yet another example of the aimless youth-oriented films that are currently reaching theaters. When the storyline is weak, copying any hit film does not guarantee an engaging watch. It’s a big bore. You cannot sit through it.

Charan Thanks Everyone For Their Blessings!
As it is known, Mega Power Star Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on 20th June. Wishes poured on the new parents from all over and everyone including a lot of celebrities have blessed their baby. Not just the family but the entire fanbase waited for the good news and it has finally arrived.
Upasana and the baby got discharged from the hospital today and the entire paparazzi was there to welcome them. After posing to the cameras together, Upasana and the baby went away while Ram Charan interacted with the press for a few minutes before getting inside his car. The identity of the babu has not been revealed yet despite the presence of all the media.
He thanked each and everyone for their blessings. He said that the prayers of fans have reached god who gave them the baby. Everyone in the family are very happy and he specially thanked the press for all their support. When asked about the baby’s name, Charan said that he will be revealing it publicly on the 12th or 13th day. He joked with the journalists for a bit while signing off by saying that the baby resembles him.
While Ram Charan has turned into a pan-Indian hero and is busy with interesting projects, Upasana is a successful businesswoman who runs Apollo Hospitals as the vice-chairperson. She is also known for her social activities.
Ram Charan who scored massive success with ‘RRR’ is currently working on Shankar’s project named ‘Game Changer’. It is a pan-Indian film that has Kiara Advani playing the female lead. It is Charan’s 15th film and Dil Raju’s 50th film as a producer. Shankar has penned a strong script with a political backdrop according to reports and there are high expectations on this project. Srikant, Sunil, Anjali and others play key roles in this film while Thaman will be giving the music.
Nikhil Following ‘Suravaram’ Sentiment!
The expectations on Nikhil’s upcoming ‘SPY’ skyrocketed after the trailer came out. Despite the hurried release, Nikhil is confident about the content and gave his go-ahead to the producers. He praised the hard work put in by the hundreds of technicians in order to finish the final product on time. With just a few days ahead of release, the team is planning to have interactions with Mumbai media and other press from other regions. The pressure is a bit high considering the fact that it is a pan-Indian release.
The pre-release event of ‘SPY’ will be held on 27th September. Chiranjeevi is going to attend the function as the chief guest and it will be announced officially. There is a sentiment attached here. Previously, Nikhil faced the same kind of pressure during the release of ‘Arjun Suravaram’. There were doubts about the film’s release but it arrived and turned out to be a super hit. Chiranjeevi arrived as the guest for the promotional event of that film too.
We have seen the pattern repeating for ‘SPY’ as well. Fans are feeling that this action thriller will be a huge success as well. We need to wait and see how things turn out on 29th June. ‘SPY’ is facing no competition except Sree Vishnu’s ‘Samajavaragamana’.

This action spy thriller will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Editor Garry BH has turned into a director for this film.
Venu Sriram Reworks His Rejected Script For Nithiin!
After making his debut with ‘Oh My Friend’, director Venu Sriram scored his first success with Nani’s ‘MCA’. After that, he took a lot of time and made ‘Vakeel Saab’ with Power Star Pawan Kalyan. The movie got a good response though the collections were affected by the second wave of coronavirus. He is yet to start his next project and people are curious to know which hero he works with.
Many might have already known that Venu Sriram narrated a script titled ‘ICON’ to stylish star Allu Arjun. The star hero was impressed by it and the film was officially announced. But the project never went on floors as Bunny accepted other films and kept it on hold. Bunny became an Icon Star now but the movie ‘ICON’ did not materialise. With Allu Arjun moving forward, sources claim that Venu Sriram convinced Nithiin for an interesting project.
Insiders say that the director made suitable changes to the ‘ICON’ script and the ‘Sye’ hero liked it very much. The official announcement regarding this project is expected to arrive soon.
Nithiin is currently working on #VNR and it is being made under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Rashmika is the leading lady while Venky Kudumula is the director. He lined up a few other projects too and it is to be seen when Venu Sriram’s film goes onto the floors.
Ram & Boyapati Arriving Ahead Of Schedule!
With ‘Adipurush’ proving to be a failure, the movie lovers are shifting their focus towards the next big releases. While Nikhil is arriving with ‘SPY’ at the end of this month, all the big films will start arriving from August and the flurry will continue till the end of Diwali. As we know, Ram and Boyapati are working together on a mass entertainer. The ‘First Thunder’ which came out in May generated a massive response.
There is a decent hype on this film and Sreeleela is the heroine who will be romancing Ram. The action sequences are expected to be huge and Ram is hoping to bounce back with this flick after a disaster like ‘The Warriorr’. The makers announced that the movie will be hitting the screens on 20th October before but they changed the plans.
With the shooting going on faster than they expected, the team of #BoyapatiRAPO are ready to arrive a month earlier. They took to social media and released a special poster announcing that the movie will be arriving in theatres on 15th September worldwide. Ram looks cool in the poster as he is sitting in a relaxed manner in the middle of a farm. The poster looks very pleasant and one can say that the movie is going to be a feast for the mass audience.

Is It Real Or A Promotional Strategy?
Bollywood folks have a unique way of promoting their projects. While most of South Indian movies rely on interviews, pre-release events, songs and trailers, the PR teams in the Hindi film industry create rumors of hero and heroine being in a relationship a few months before the release. They look so close to each other during the promotions and somehow their relationship fades away a few weeks after the movie’s release. This is a pattern which is being followed over the last two decades in Hindi film industry.
Recently, Tamannaah Bhatia is making a lot of news due to various reasons. While her bold scenes in Amazon Prime Video’s web series ‘Jee Karda’ became a huge topic, it is her romantic relationship with Vijay Varma which is grabbing all the attention. The rumours about them being in love has been doing rounds since the past few months but they recently made it official. People are amazed as Tamannaah is a big heroine down South and is known all over the country while Vijay Varma mostly plays character roles and villain roles.
While people are happy to see them together, one section is still skeptical about their relationship. They claim that it is all being done for ‘Lust Stories 2’ promotions. Low Buzz On Movies Of Senior Stars!
It is without a doubt that superstar Rajnikanth and Megastar Chiranjeevi are the biggest stars in Kollywood and Tollywood respectively. Rajni’s ‘Jailer’ is hitting the screens on 10th August while Chiru’s ‘Bholaa Shankar’ is arriving on 11th August. The full-fledged promotions have not begun yet. The posters and lyrical video from ‘Bholaa Shankar’ team did not get a huge response as people are skeptical about Meher Ramesh being the director and the movie being a remake of ‘Vedhalam’.
Meher Ramesh’s last film was ‘Shadow’ which arrived in 2013. His track record is quite bad and people are going to be worried about ‘Bholaa Shankar’ unless the ‘Billa’ director pulls off a masterclass somehow. The teaser is expected to arrive on 24th June. Even Rajnikanth is silent with his ‘Jailer’ promotions.
There is buzz on Dasara releases like ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’, ‘Leo’ and ‘Tiger Nageswar Rao’ but these two releases which are arriving in August have failed in creating a positive buzz. There is a talk that ‘Jailer’ overseas rights were sold for 32 crores but there is no official confirmation. As we know, Rajni’s market dropped drastically in Telugu states off late.
The main danger to these flicks arrives from ‘Animal’. This Hindi movie starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead is a mass gangster flick which is being directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. There are massive expectations on this film and people are eagerly waiting for the trailer to arrive. Also, ‘Gaddar 2’ is getting released on the same day. It looks like Rajni and Chiru have to push their producers to promote their films in a more aggressive manner from now on.
Pawan Kalyan Is Hero In Films, Not Politics: Mudragada!
Pawan Kalyan’s ongoing Varahi yatra has increased the political heat in Andhra Pradesh. His speeches attracted a swift response from Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham. He is hitting back at Pawan Kalyan. Following the same, he shot a second letter at Pawan Kalyan and asked a few questions.
Mudragada asked why he was targeted and sought an answer for this. He said that Pawan Kalyan might be thinking that he is a big star as his fans are attacking and threatening him. This is wrong, Pawan Kalyan is a hero in films, not in politics, he has to understand this, Mudragada observed.
Talking about the attacks and harassment he is facing, Mudragada asked if they feel any pride in targeting him as he is an orphan and will bear any attack. Mudragada also questioned what Pawan Kalyan did for the Kapu movement in his sensational letter.
Mudragada asked if Pawan Kalyan went to meet people who were wrongly put in jail after the murder of Ranga and if he met their family members. Did you request the then Chief Minister Marri Chenna Reddy to quash the cases filed on 3500 innocents between 88-89? Did you ask the then CM Chandrababu to remove the cases filed in 1999 during the movement, he asked.
But what caught everyone’s attention is that Mudragada thanked Janasena supporters for abusing him as this gave him a lot of energy to get ready for a war when he did not take any call on whether or not to run the elections.
Asking Pawan Kalyan an answer to why he decided to target him and MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, Mudragada also dared Pawan Kalyan to accept MLA’s dare to contest from Kakinada. He also said that if he feels scared of picking Kakinada, he can go with Pithapuram and he is all set to lock horns with him from the constituency.
Earlier, Mudragada said he wants to retire from politics. But the new letter says something else and he wants to lock horns with Pawan Kalyan directly in elections from Pithapuram. We have to wait and see what happens next.
