Ram Charan: Oscars is like an Olympian gold medal for us

Ram Charan is currently busy promoting his film RRR in the USA, ahead of the Oscar awards ceremony which is set to take place on the 12th of March in Los Angeles. As part of that, the actor has been interacting with various press people and media houses and took part in a podcast recently. In that podcast, Ram Charan spoke about various topics and did not limit himself to just RRR.

Talking about his Deeksha, which he is often seen in, he said that the main reason he’s always doing Deeksha is to keep himself disciplined. He said that he got this discipline from his father, who raised him that way and always ensured that he grew up the right way. About his father, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan said that Chiru never let him or his other family members talk about movies when they were at home, and it always used to be about their family only. He said that this is how they are now as well. Charan also spoke about how there are now eight actors from within his own family, only because of Chiru, who hails from a lower-middle-class family.

About RRR, Charan said that it was a pleasure to have worked with Rajamouli, whose vision is unparalleled. He spoke about the grueling process of shooting Naatu Naatu, and the kind of effort that went into making the song, which is now nominated at the Oscars.

Charan hailed Rajamouli in his recent podcast, saying that the director is trying his very best to unite all the film industries of the country into one – the Indian film industry. He said that India is a diverse country that has many cultures and faiths, and yet continues to be united.

The actor said that he would love to work with Hollywood actress Julia Roberts, who is widely admired in India. He also revealed that Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are his favorite actors. Charan also spoke about how much he loves films like Terminator and Gladiator, and the admiration he has for Mel Gibson’s movies.

About RRR’s nomination at the Oscars, Charan said that winning the Oscar would be like winning an Olympic Gold Medal for everyone in India. He said that the win would be highly emotional for him and everyone else. He also said he wishes and hopes for more and more Indian movies to win Oscars in the years to come.

RGV Attacks GHMC Mayor In New Song Kukkala Mayor!

The Amberpet issue brought the dogs’ menace issue to the discussion again. A small kid passed away in the attack. The ruling party faced severe criticism on the issue. The High Court also held the civic body authorities responsible for this. More than others GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi became the target of many.

The response of the Mayor did not go well with many and they asked how a responsible person can say this. Not just the common people, but celebrities like Ram Gopal Varma also slammed her. The director even said that the stray dogs should be left in her house so she can understand the problem.

Now the maverick director released a song on the dogs’ menace targeting the Mayor. He had penned down the lyrics. We can sense his stand on the issue as he used some strong lines that despite begging for taxes from people, Mayor cannot understand the problem.

Blaming the Mayor for the life lost, RGV said that the Mayor has a Dog brain and she will understand the situation only if hundreds of dogs are released in her house. Whose sin is this, asked RGV in the song titled Kukkala Mayor.

Throughout the song, RGV questioned and blamed the Mayor. He asked if she felt any pain seeing the parents of the kid crying their hearts out for losing their kid. It appears that RGV did not forget the issue and still holds the Mayor responsible for the incident.

The Casting Couch row created a sensation across the globe. Though it was started in Hollywood with a few actresses sharing their horrific experiences, the controversy later spread to other industries too. One after the other, the actresses came forward to share what they went through.

Senior Bollywood actress Vidya Balan who is riding high on women-centric films revealed how she almost faced a casting couch incident. Walking down memory lane, the actress said that a director tried to misbehave with her but she escaped the incident as he handled the situation better.

In an interview, Vidya Balan said that when she was in Chennai for an ad shoot, a director called for a project, and during the conversation, he insisted on going into the hotel room. Having sensed something wrong, she left the hotel door open and the director left.

“I didn’t understand, because I was alone. But I did a very smart thing. When we went to the room, I left the door open. And then he knew that the only way for him was out. So, I don’t really believe that I’ve had an experience with the casting couch,” Vidya Balan said.

Saying that self-preservation kicked in, Vidya Balan said that she cannot call the incident casting couch as no suggestion or proposition was made. In her interview, she shared many interesting things like meeting her husband.

Vidya Balan said that she met Siddharth Roy Kapur in Mumbai after the awards ceremony. At a party hosted by Karan Johar, she met Kapur and their conversation started there. Vidya Balan called Siddharth Roy Kapur a charming man.

Calling Karan Johar the matchmaker between them, Vidya Balan said that their first conversation was a polite one and things started brewing.

“Life was bringing us together a lot at that time. We ended up at a party together at Karan’s place. Karan has played Cupid in this relationship. He invited me to a party at his house and I was a bit [surprised] because I didn’t really know him. I [felt] how sweet,” Vidya Balan said.

Vidya Balan’s last outing was Jalsa. Suresh Triveni’s directorial was a thriller film that also stars talented actress Shefali Shah. She has two projects which are in the shooting stage. However, the projects are yet to be titled.

Megastar Chiranjeevi Watched Balagam, And Appreciates The Team

Dil Raju Productions produced the recent sensation Balagam starring Priyadarshi and Kavya Kalyanram. The rural-based family drama that marks the directorial debut of Venu Yeldandi is running successfully in its second week. The film produced by Harshith Reddy, Hanshitha Reddy which won critical accolades is turning out to be a huge commercial hit.

Meanwhile, a special screening of Balagam was held for megastar Chiranjeevi who loved it for the beautiful emotions and genuine narrative. “Balagam is a true and honest film with genuine emotions. Venu, you did complete justice, although you have a commercial producer like Dil Raju. It’s a pakka nativity movie that showed the Telangana culture beautifully. All the very best to the entire team,” said Chiranjeevi.

Chiranjeevi also felicitated the team Balagam.

Unwanted Controversy For An Unimportant Issue!

Not just the Telugu film lovers but the entire nation is eagerly waiting for 12th March as it would reveal whether ‘RRR’ bags an Oscar or not. As we know, Ram Charan, Rajamouli, NTR and the rest of ‘RRR’ team have flown to Los Angeles weeks before the big night and doing everything they can to bring the buzz on ‘Naatu Naatu’ song.

The super hit song will be performed live onstage by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. With all the international applause and awards it got, ‘RRR’ is truly the pride of Indian cinema. It shed a light on Telugu cinema on an international level and it is something everyone should celebrate together. But there are people who are pulling each other’s hair on social media regarding irrelevant issues.

Senior person Tammareddy Bharadwaj said that the ‘RRR’ team spent 80 crores on campaigning for Oscars while budding filmmakers would have made 10 quality films with that money. This led to a huge uproar on social media and even certain bigwigs of Tollywood found fault in his comments. Nagababu went on social media and created a fuss by writing,”Nee Yamma Mogudu cheppada 80 crores aiyyindhi ani.” This did not go well with some people including Tammareddy who came up with a media trying to explain what really happened at the seminar and how his words were taken out of context. He said some strong words about Nagababu as well and warned him.

This unwanted controversy before the big night is surely pointless. While the team of ‘RRR’ is out there representing Indian cinema at the Oscars, people right here are indulging in these silly quarrels on social media. Even netizens and fans who are getting involved in these fights should understand this.

Every promotional material released so far by the makers of Natural Star Nani’s highly anticipated Pan India project Dasara raised curiosity on the movie. While Srikanth Odela designed and presented Nani’s character as Dharani in a never seen before rugged and rustic avatar, music director Santhosh Narayanan provided soundtracks that will be remembered for a long time.

The teaser of the movie received an overwhelming response all over the country. Meanwhile, the makers have announced the trailer date. The theatrical trailer of Dasara will be unleashed in another 3 days on March 14th. The announcement poster looks very intriguing as it shows Nani in an intense avatar, though his face isn’t visible. He is seen standing in front of a burning massive ten-headed Ravanasura effigy with two axes in his hand.

The movie being mounted on a large scale by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas stars Keerthy Suresh playing the female lead, while Dheekshith Shetty, Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar and Zarina Wahab will be seen in important roles. Sathyan Sooryan ISC is the cinematographer.

The film Dasara will have a simultaneous release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages on March 30th.

The other day, Indian actress Priyanka Chopra who is settled in Hollywood now, threw a lavish party to a sect few members who are nominated for the Oscars.

One of the special attractions at the event was Ram Charan. Charan is one of the very few guests for the event and he appeared to have had a gala time there.

Charan and Priyanka are good friends as well. They worked together on Zanjeer and they evidently share a very good rapport.

Is the home minister’s position a jinxed one for women politicians in Andhra Pradesh? While earlier home minister Mekathoti Sucharita, who was the home minister earlier, has earned the nick-name of being a lame duck minister. During her term, YSRCP key leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy was called the proxy home minister. Not only did she lose her post in the cabinet reshuffle and she is now all set to join the TDP.

The fate of the current home minister of YS Jagan government appears to be no different. Current home minister Thaneti Vanitha, who is from Kovvur assembly constituency, too is facing the heat. Many of her statements are landing her in controversy. Even in Kovvur assembly constituency, her position is getting increasingly weak.

Kovvur has always been a TDP citadel and the YSRCP won it only once. In the 2019 elections, the YSRCP could win only because of former MLA TV Rama Rao. He left the TDP and joined the YSRCP at the last minute. He campaigned vigorously for the YSRCP and helped Vanitha win the elections.

However, things have changed now. Rama Rao has resigned from the YSRCP and Vanitha has antagonised several hardcore and loyal YSRCP leaders. Most local leaders are reportedly keeping away from Vanitha’s programmes. Also, there are widespread allegations that the minister’s relatives are calling the shots in the constituency. This too has alienated several party workers. As of now, Vanitha is said to be on a sticky wicket in Kovvur.
