Palana Abbayi Palana Ammayi (PAPA) is Srinivas Avasarala’s comeback film with his trademark comedy, emotion, and classical touches. This is the third film of Naga Shourya under Srinivas Avasarala’s direction. So, expectations are sky-high. Their previous outings Oohalu Gusagusalade and Jyo Achyutananda are hilarious and tug at the heartstrings. PAPA also brings Naga Shourya and Malavika Nair together for the second time. The cute pairing and the sparkling chemistry shall be the highlight of the film.
PAPA trailer is replete with classical music composed by Kalyani Mallik. The humming in the middle adds more weight to the proceedings. The whole experience can be termed as a musical journey where the characters experience different shades of friendship and love. Kalyani Mallik and Srinivas Avasarala combination shall meet everyone’s expectation and touch every soul.
Naga Shourya and Malavika can be seen in three stages of their lives and how their bonding strengthens over time. All this has Avasarala’s wacky touches with characters uttering funny lines. Rao Ramesh To Play Lead Role In “Maruti Nagar Subramanyam”
Veteran actor Rao Ramesh who was seen in recent pan Indian box office blockbusters like Pushpa, KGF 2, and others is set to turn the male lead in his upcoming concept driven film that has been title Maruti Nagar Subramanyam. The film was officially announced today.
Rao Ramesh plays the leading role in the concept driven film that is directed by Lakshman Karya of Happy Wedding fame. It will be a content backed drama and Rao Ramesh’s character will be on the lines of the ones played by Bollywood actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Raj Kumar Rao, and others. He is said to be excited about the script and the way the project is shaping up. This film will have versatile actress Indraja in the lady lead role which is going to be another exciting facet.
Speaking about the film, the director said, “This is an entertaining family drama. Rao Ramesh garu agreeing to do the male lead role itself is a success for us. He liked the story very much. It revolves around the life of an unemployed middle aged man. It will keep the audience thoroughly engaged for 2 hours. Pre production is underway now. Regular shooting will start in March.”
I Am Looking At Working Outside India As Well: Ram Charan On ABC News!
In the run up to Oscars, after a sensational Good Morning America, Mega Power Star Ram Charan gets featured on ABC News. In this interview, the ‘RRR’ star talks about the popularity of the Rajamouli-directed magnum opus and throws light on the Oscar-nominated ‘Naatu Naatu’. He also mentions that he would like to team up with filmmakers from the West.
Q: It has been a long journey to bring ‘RRR’ out into the world. How do you describe the whole process?
Just when we thought we have achieved so much, the film was well received in India and we were all satisfied and overwhelmed with the response in India and the East, it’s such an overwhelming feeling (to be accepted in the West as well). It is kind of real but also unreal (that our movie has travelled to parts of the Western world).
Q: Did you ever dream of having this kind of “Hollywood success”?
A: I don’t know if I can call it a Hollywood success, but I think Hollywood has a big heart to accept international films and respect other films as much as they respect their own films.To get that kind of response and acknowledgement for ‘RRR’ from an industry we have always respected is really heartening.
Q. ‘Naatu Naatu’ has been nominated for the Best Original Song at the Oscars. How was shooting for it like in Ukraine?
A. We filmed it three months before the Ukraine war began. Thanks to the song, I discovered that Ukraine is one of the most beautiful places and experiences I had. I wanted to take time and go there as a tourist again. We shot the song at the Mariinsky Palace for over 15 days and after 7 days of rehearsals. It’s one of the most difficult songs we ever shot.
Q: What would your feeling be if ‘Naatu Naatu’ bags the Oscar?
A. I will be the happiest. They will have to wake me up and ask me to go and collect it! I will be happy for India. It’s a decades-old film industry we have in our country. For the first time, a song from our country has been nominated. I don’t think it will just be our success but the success of the Indian film industry itself. I am not saying it because it feels good, but I really mean it. A lot of people’s emotions and culture put together is what ‘Naatu Naatu’ is about.
I think it’s a great space that we are all in right now. It’s a great time to be a part of this journey of an Indian film reaching the Academy Awards. More than an achievement, it is a responsibility. I just don’t want it to end as a one-time wonder. I want it to become a consistent process. We want to come back to the Golden Globes and Oscars again and again.
Q. What is cinema for you?
A. My director SS Rajamouli always says cinema doesn’t have a language. It’s the emotion that makes a film a film. ‘RRR’ is one of his best works as a writer with his father, Vijayendra Prasad. Cinema is an emotional language and ‘RRR’ is the kind of film that has made people dance, laugh and cry. It has got hero-elevation scenes. It has got everything.
On Indian diversity and cinema
India is a very diverse country. We always say we have unity in diversity. All cultures are so beautiful. Predominantly, the language is Hindi and so everybody thinks Bollywood gets the utmost visibility. But all States in India make fantastic movies, movies that win National Awards. Our films have got exposure across cultures. ‘RRR’ is a rooted subject whose sentimentality is rooted. We Indians love family and when you love your family, you are emotional.
On wanting to do films across the world
I am committed to doing a couple of projects in India for now. But I am looking at working outside India as well. I want the directors here (in the West) to experience the talent in India. We hope we get calls from here!
Sreeleela’s Special Song With Pawan & Sai Dharam?
Young heroine Sreeleela is the most happening person in Tollywood right now. The ‘Pelli SandaD’ actress is everywhere and the youth are going crazy over her. Also, she is acting as the heroine in Sai Dharam’s brother Vaisshnav’s upcoming film. It looks like all the signs point towards Sreeleela becoming a part of this song. Medico Suicide Row: Governor Visits NIMS To Meet Victims!
Everyone knows the sensation the alleged ragging incident reported from Warangal’s Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) had created in Telangana. The issue raised many eyeballs and several concerns were raised as many wondered how a medical student is also not safe from the ragging row.
The victim’s parents are alleging that no proper action is being taken by the cops despite the complaint and no information on her is also being sent. Though there is no proper information, a few reports say that her senior harassed her and forced her to take the step.
As another twist, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan went all the way to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) to visit the victim. It is said that she inquired about her health and also had a word with the doctors treating her.
The Governor expressed her concerns on the issue and said that it is sad to see such an incident and a probe should be conducted into this.

From there she was transferred to NIMS and her condition is critical now.

‘Agent’ Sold For A Fancy Rate But Still In Deficit!
There is a lot of hype surrounding Akhil’s upcoming pan-Indian project ‘Agent’. The action-packed teaser and ‘Malli Malli’ song have definitely increased the expectations on this movie which is all set to thrill the audience in theatres from 28th April. Akhil is expecting to reach the next level with this spy action thriller. After three failures, he scored his first hit with ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ and ‘Agent’ has a lot riding on it.
There were reports that Sony LIV bought the OTT streaming rights and the latest we hear is that big-budget racy action flick is going for fancy rates in the market. According to reports, the theatrical rights of Telugu states and Karnataka were sold wholesale for 34 crores which is excluding GST.
Apparently, Gayatri Films Satish from Vishaka has bought the rights by quoting above the rest. While others went till 30-32 crores, Satish reportedly bought it for 34 crores which is a very good price for an Akhil film. Also, the non-theatrical rights too went for a very good amount but sources say that the movie will be released with a deficit of around 15 crores and it is mainly due to Surender Reddy who reportedly spent a lot of grandeur and constant reshoots.
