Indian-origin Woman Elected As Lieutenant Governor of Maryland!
Indians are showing their prowess in various fields. Many big MNCs have Indian-origin people holding big positions like CEOs. Rishi Sunak was recently elected as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and another Indian-origin person created history by getting elected to a big position.
Aruna Miller was elected as the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. She becomes the first person from the Indian-American community to take up the position. Maryland stays very close to the United States Capital.
In the tough fight, Miller emerged victorious with big names like United States President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris campaigning for her. The Lieutenant Governor is a big position in the state after the Governo and in the absence of Governor Miller will assume the position if needed.
Despite facing a tough fight from the opponent she also had to fight the conspiracy and narrative that she gathered support from the Right-wing people. Aruna Miller strongly countered the narrative and said that the narrative is nothing but a conspiracy.
“Maryland, tonight you showed the nation what a small but mighty state can do when democracy is on the ballot. You chose unity over division, expanding rights over restricting rights, and hope over fear. You chose Wes Moore and me to be your next Governor and Lieutenant Governor,” Aruna Miller said after winning the election.
Aruna Miller was born in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna District in the combined state. But in 1972 she and her parents moved to the United States and started living there.
Aruna Miller cemented her place as a good leader in the Indian-American community and the support helped her in winning the polls. In her winning speech, she said that she has been working for the nation ever since she moved there and she will not stop doing that.

Previously, trade experts used to say that the months of February and March are the dullest months in terms of box office results. With the youth getting busy with examinations during these two months, not a lot of filmmakers released their movies. But the pandemic changed this scenario completely.
The schedules of examinations got completely shuffled which made February and March free for releases in the last two years. Even big-budget films are getting released in Feb and March but it resulted in November becoming a very dull month. Notable films are not getting released during this month and many filmmakers started to ignore this month as it is in between big festivals like Dasara and Sankranti.
October is considered as a festive month due to Dasara and Diwali when big films hit the screens while well-known films start arriving once again in mid-December. The producers and directors are not risking movie releases in November as many films are getting postponed. Leaving Sirish’s ‘Urvashivo Rakshasivo’ and Samantha’s ‘Yashoda’, there are no other notable releases this month.
Allari Naresh’s ‘Itlu Maredumilli Niyojakavargam’, Abhiram and Teja’s ‘Ahimsa’, ‘Hunt’ and many other films are not arriving in November. As we know, Allu Sirish’s film is not getting enough collections despite getting decent talk. For the past couple of years, there are no hits in the month of November. We need to see what will be the result of ‘Yashoda’. If it fails, this month will be too long for the producers and even for the audience who are awaiting the big releases.

Ninne Pelladutha makers set for next
After their successful film Ninne Pelladutha starring Aman Preet (Rakul Preet Singh’s brother) and Sidhika Sharma, producers Velugodu Sridhar Babu and Rajasekhar Chowdary are all set to bring out another romantic drama. They are collaborating with young director N Srinivas.
“We are super thrilled with the response Ninne Pelladutha got. The lead cast’s performance was appreciated and the success of the film boosted our confidence to make another youthful entertainer,” says Rajasekhar. While the casting of the film is in progress, the makers have locked the script. “The film talks about how today’s relationships are being perceived — how love blossoms and how quickly there’s a break up,” adds Sridhar, who has zeroed in on locations in Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu, Kanpur and Karnataka for the new film.
The makers are planning to retain the same technicians. “You know the acclaim Ninne Pelladutha’s music and cinematography received. So we decided to go with the same technicians for our next film too and recreate the magic,” he beams.

A Litmus Test For Samantha’s Stardom!
Over ten films were released last week and the only one which managed to attract the audience was ‘Oorvasivo Rakshasivo’. It is the only movie that got decent collections and no other flicks managed to generate any buzz. After the weekend, even Sirish’s film started to fade away and the focus of the audience has now shifted to the upcoming weekend.
As we know, Samantha’s ‘Yashoda’ is getting released this week and there are good expectations on it. Due to her health issues, Samantha did not actively participate in the promotions and gave only one interview. While the lack of publicity may act against the film, the sympathy towards the star actress may work in favour of the film.
On the whole, this dull period at the box office is going to be a litmus test for Samantha’s star power. She needs to drag people into the theatres and needs to recover over 12 crores in the Telugu states. ‘Yashoda’ did a pre-release theatrical business of 23-24 crores worldwide and we need to see if she manages to pull it back in terms of box office collections or not.
The trailer proves that there is content in this film but the star power of Samantha is going to play a crucial part in bringing people on the first day. The business was done mainly because it is a Samantha film and her craze is the reason for advance bookings. It will be a huge task for a heroine-oriented film to gross around 40 crores and earn a share of 24 crores in November. Let us wait till the 11th to find out what happens with ‘Yashoda’.
