Osmania University Gets Historic ₹1,000 Cr Upgrade

The Telangana state government has approved a massive ₹1,000 crore fund for the development of Osmania University (OU), marking the largest-ever infrastructure grant sanctioned for any single university in India. For the century-old institution that has shaped generations of students, this announcement is being hailed as a historic and transformative moment.
Osmania University, one of the oldest and most respected public universities in the country, has been in dire need of major infrastructure upgrades. Despite its sprawling campus and academic legacy, many of its buildings, hostels, laboratories, and basic facilities have remained outdated for years. Students and faculty have long demanded improvements to match contemporary educational standards.
The newly sanctioned funds will be utilized for comprehensive modernization of the OU campus. While detailed project plans are yet to be officially released, the investment is expected to focus on upgrading classrooms, research and lab facilities, student hostels, internal roads, sanitation systems, digital infrastructure, and other essential amenities.
Education experts believe these upgrades will significantly enhance the academic atmosphere and student experience, helping Osmania University regain its prominence on national and global platforms.
This move also carries strong political significance. OU students played a pivotal role in the Telangana statehood movement, yet the university saw minimal development during the previous BRS government. Many students felt neglected, and the campus witnessed a decade of stagnation.
By committing ₹1,000 crore toward OU’s modernization, the Congress government aims to restore the institution’s lost glory and address long-standing student concerns. The announcement also coincides with the Telangana Rising Summit, where the state is positioning itself as a hub for investment, innovation, and job creation.
For OU students, alumni, educators, and the academic fraternity, this decision represents a long-awaited step toward revival—a move that could redefine the future of higher education in Telangana.
Vijay Sethupathi’s Heartfelt Tribute to Mohanlal & Nagarjuna

At the JioHotstar South Unbound event in Chennai, Kollywood actor Vijay Sethupathi, lovingly called Makkalselvan, took the stage with his trademark humility and heartfelt warmth. “I am very happy and extremely proud to be sharing the stage with such great people,” he said, acknowledging the legends—Mohanlal and Nagarjuna—standing beside him. His admiration for Mohanlal was immediate and sincere. “I am the biggest fan of Mohanlal sir. I like him a lot,” he said with a smile. Then came the line that set the crowd buzzing: “I have his autograph framed in my office.” For him, even the smallest gesture toward his idol meant the world. “Whether I gave him a shawl or a bouquet, I got the chance to express my love for someone I look up to. That itself thrills me.”
He then turned to Tollywood King Akkineni Nagarjuna, speaking with equal respect. “Nagarjuna sir is such a gentleman,” he said, adding with humour, “They do so much research on anti-aging… please research him! From his hair to his style, he’s so handsome and always energetic.” Sethupathi fondly recalled growing up watching Nagarjuna on screen. “Since childhood, I have watched his movies. He is still the same. Sir, maybe even when my grandchildren are born, you will still look like this,” he joked.
When the conversation shifted to Bigg Boss, his tone grew thoughtful. He spoke not as a host, but as someone transformed by the experience. “This show gives people the chance to understand human nature. The contestants, the host, the audience—everyone becomes part of that journey,” he said. According to him, Bigg Boss stands apart because of its honesty. “There is no drama there. And as humans, we can’t have the same personality throughout. We keep changing. We must look at ourselves.” That introspection is why Sethupathi calls Bigg Boss “a mirror.”
“I see myself in all the contestants,” he said. Like Nagarjuna, he too admitted that his first instinct was to refuse the show. “I said I wouldn’t do Bigg Boss. I said I didn’t know the format. I had never watched it. I had a different opinion about it.” But everything changed once he stepped into the house. “I did Season 8 first. Now I am doing Season 9.” He described the experience poetically: “After I went there, it felt like reading a great book.” He said he learned from the contestants—their tasks, their behaviour, and their emotional journeys.
Addressing criticism, he echoed Mohanlal’s views. “Criticism should always come. Critics are welcome because they give perspective.” And perspective, he said, is the soul of Bigg Boss. “The show discusses perspectives. We realise how many viewpoints exist.” More than answers, he enjoys the questions the show asks of him. “Bigg Boss raises so many questions for me. I have learned a lot from it. I’m very happy to be doing it.”
Before ending, he thanked JioHotstar for supporting creative storytelling. “My series has been released, and you are investing so much. A lot of people are working, and many are dreaming.” For Sethupathi, stories are the heartbeat of humanity. “There are many stories that need to be told. Art brings people closer, educates them, and moves them forward. That is a big step. Thank you for coming forward and investing in it.”
Naidu Pushes for Faster, Smarter Governance Reforms

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday put forward a striking proposal aimed at cutting through bureaucratic delays and accelerating governance. Addressing senior bureaucrats, Heads of Departments, and secretaries at a high-level review, he stressed the need for a complete shift in administrative mindset and functioning.
Naidu stated that governance reforms must be pursued with urgency, focusing on speed, simplicity, and accountability. While the Constitution has been amended countless times to serve national interests, he pointed out that officials still hesitate to amend outdated business rules that hinder public service delivery.
He questioned this resistance, saying: “If business rules need to be changed for the benefit of the people, what is wrong in that?” He highlighted that procedures should never become obstacles to efficiency.
Criticising unnecessary file creation, Naidu said file disposal must be faster and smarter. He also suggested that the government is ready to amend Business Rules wherever required to eliminate redundant processes.
To modernize governance, Naidu insisted that all obsolete regulations be removed and that every department undergo a complete transformation. Regular audits will now be mandatory, he said, with performance metrics for each official and each department already available to the government.
“Officials must work with the awareness that their performance is fully visible,” he cautioned.
Naidu stressed that every officer must function with vision, responsibility, and accountability to citizens. He urged government staff to shed negative attitudes and reluctance toward new programmes or instructions.
“Some individuals immediately start thinking about how to avoid implementing a task. This mindset must change,” he warned.
He further emphasised that conduct and attitude matter as much as results. While many officers deliver good outcomes, their approach toward citizens must also improve.
“Officials should respond positively to people and applicants. Good results are important, but behaviour is equally crucial,” Naidu added.
Akhanda 2 Release Turmoil

Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 is undoubtedly the most hyped film of 2025, riding on the massive success of its franchise and the excitement surrounding the sequel. But, unexpectedly, its release process has turned into one of the most chaotic and poorly managed episodes of the year.
Originally scheduled for a December 5 release, the film was pushed back at the last minute due to financial hurdles and a court case filed by Eros. After nearly a week of uncertainty, the stay was finally lifted following an internal settlement.
However, despite the premiere being just a day away, online bookings in Telangana have still not opened. According to sources, several financial clearances between the producers and distributors remain pending, delaying the process further.
The situation has left fans restless and frustrated, constantly checking for updates with no clarity in sight. Industry insiders reveal that the issues may not be sorted out until evening, meaning ticket sales might only begin after that.
With time running out, the biggest questions remain:
When will the bookings finally open? Will fans still rush to grab tickets? And will this delay impact the premiere shows and opening day collections?
Jetlee First Look: Rhea Singha’s Fierce Tollywood Debut

Actor Satya, who has been selective with his recent projects, takes the lead in the upcoming film Jetlee, marking his third collaboration with Mathu Vadalara director Ritesh Rana. Touted as a jet-speed adventure entertainer, the film has already created curiosity with its first-look poster showcasing Satya in a quirky, humorous avatar.
Jetlee also introduces Miss Universe India Rhea Singha to Tollywood, who steps in as the female lead. On the occasion of her birthday, the makers released her striking first-look poster. She is seen inside a burning aircraft, holding a gun, dressed in a bold black-and-maroon combat outfit. The flying sparks and shattered debris around her further amplify her fierce and powerful screen presence.
Produced by Clap Entertainment, Jetlee is designed as a chaos-filled action-comedy. The film’s shoot is currently progressing at a brisk pace.
Kavitha Slams BRS “Bangaru Telangana” Faction

During the tenure of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) under former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, party leaders frequently spoke of building a “Bangaru Telangana.” However, the phrase has increasingly become associated with leaders who accumulated immense wealth and assets during KCR’s regime, while grassroots Telangana activists continued to struggle financially.
KCR’s daughter, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, has repeatedly criticized this trend, taking aim at her cousins—former minister T. Harish Rao and former Rajya Sabha member Joginapally Santosh—for amassing significant wealth in the name of Bangaru Telangana. “Is it enough if these leaders have tonnes of gold in their houses? What about the rest of Telangana?” she had questioned in the past.
On Wednesday, Kavitha once again launched a sharp attack on BRS leaders, referring to them as the “BT batch” (Bangaru Telangana batch). She alleged that this group had hijacked the party and marginalized the original Telangana movement activists. “This BT batch misused power for personal gain, whereas the ‘UT batch’ (Udyama Telangana batch), representing those who fought for statehood, continues to suffer,” she asserted.
Kavitha further accused the BT batch of aligning opportunistically with whoever holds power, describing them as sycophants who merely “sing praises of those in government.” She highlighted widespread land encroachments by leaders from this faction, noting that complaints are routinely dismissed as vindictive. “The previous government did the same, and the current rulers are following the same pattern,” she added.
Speaking about her own political journey, Kavitha said she was once confined to Nizamabad due to internal strategies, while BT batch candidates won in constituencies such as Uppal, Malkajgiri, Qutbullapur, Medchal, and Kukatpally. According to her, if the UT batch’s principles had been followed, Shambipur Raja would have been appointed as a minister, but instead, someone from the BT batch received a cabinet berth.
She vowed to continue supporting Telangana activists and families of martyrs. “Wherever movement activists own land, we will plant the Jagruthi flag. I will keep fighting for them,” she declared.
Kavitha accused the BT batch of joining the BRS en masse for land, power, and control, claiming they had encroached on lakes and extensive public land. “Qutbullapur is now mockingly called ‘Kabzalapur’ due to the scale of encroachments,” she said.
Indirectly criticizing Harish Rao, Kavitha noted that the BRS MLA who calls himself the “six-foot bullet” had never developed a hospital in his constituency. She also criticized former minister Jagadish Reddy for failing to understand public issues, adding that people themselves no longer take him seriously.

Ram Mohan Naidu’s Stand in Indigo Crisis Sparks Debate

The ongoing Indigo crisis has generated significant noise in the aviation sector, placing Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu at the centre of national media attention. Several North-based media outlets have criticised him, accusing him of mishandling the situation and portraying the crisis as a political failure. Many observers believe there is a deliberate attempt to target Naidu personally and, by extension, the TDP, especially since none of these outlets have questioned the BJP-led central government, which also shares responsibility.
However, the situation requires a more measured and fair assessment. Since taking charge, Ram Mohan Naidu has already faced one of the most challenging moments in recent aviation history—the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. It was a moment of national grief and a true test for the aviation ministry.
Rather than suppressing information or delaying accountability, he ensured that the investigation report was completed quickly and made public despite pressure from the airline. His decision reinforced transparency and responsibility toward passengers and the families of the victims.
This approach is not sudden. The TDP, under Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, has long emphasised ethical governance, strong administrative systems, and rule-based decision-making. Whether in infrastructure development, administrative reforms, or industrial growth, CBN’s focus has always been on discipline, accountability, and service delivery. Ram Mohan Naidu appears to be following that same philosophy.
In the current Indigo issue, he is insisting that the airline adhere to aviation rules, safety standards, and operational guidelines without shortcuts. His stand is not anti-corporate—it is pro-safety. For a country with a rapidly expanding aviation network, uniform enforcement of rules is essential to prevent future disasters.
Beyond crisis management, he has also initiated people-friendly reforms. Soon after assuming office, he promised to make air travel more affordable. True to his word, he launched the UDAN Yatri Café initiative to tackle the problem of overpriced food at airports, offering travellers affordable options such as tea or coffee at just ₹20.
In contrast, certain media groups in Noida appear intent on diverting blame away from Indigo and the NDA government for the structural issues that contributed to this crisis. Over time, the aviation sector has become a duopoly dominated by Air India and Indigo—an unhealthy concentration of power that affects competition and service quality.
Ram Mohan Naidu openly highlighted these structural gaps in the Lok Sabha and even invited new companies to invest in India’s aviation market. If these reforms take shape and the current duopoly is broken, India could witness a more competitive, safer, and transparent aviation ecosystem. In that scenario, Ram Mohan Naidu may well be remembered as one of the most effective aviation ministers the country has seen.
