Tamil Nadu announces 14-day complete lockdown from May 10 to 24

In order to curb the increasing Covid-19 infections during the second wave, the Government of Tamil Nadu announced a complete lockdown in the state from May 10 to May 24. The shutdown comes just a day after MK Stalin took oath as the CM of Tamil Nadu.

Announcing the lockdown, the state has said the decision to go for a complete lockdown was taken due to inevitable conditions in the state owing to the rise in Coronavirus cases. The lockdown will come into effect at 4 am on May 10 and will be in force till 4 am on May 24.

The government has given some much needed time for the people to prepare for the lockdown by allowing all shops and establishments to stay open from 6 am to 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

During the complete lockdown, vegetable, meat and fish shops and provisional stores may operate only till noon. All other shops will remain closed. On the other hand, state-owned liquor shops will be locked during the complete lockdown period in the state. Takeaway services are permitted for restaurants, and essential services are exempted from lockdown orders.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) seem to be a biggest obstacle in film release and even high budget films sometimes can’t bypass this too. It cuts off ‘objectionable’ scenes and thereby restraining the freedom of expression of the makers despite the scenes not being so unacceptable. This perception of CBFC got a boost under the chairmanship of Pahlaj Nihalani.

Nevertheless, since a couple of years, very few films have released and interestingly, the CBFC was not reported to have chopped scenes or dialogues in most of them. But with regard to the much anticipated big budget Eid release, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai, the CBFC, too, had been liberal and certified it without a cut.

It is learnt that the makers voluntarily trimmed some scenes and modifications after getting the censor certificate. Surprisingly, as many as 21 modifications have been carried out. It is presumably done by keeping in mind the family audience too.

According to one of the modifications in the cut list, the buzz is, ‘Swacchh Mumbai’ has been replaced by ‘Swacchh Bharat’. Also, a ‘Jai Maharashtra’ dialogue was also deleted in the same dialogue.

Vamsi too is raring get things going his way after making a disappointing directorial debut with Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya. He impressed Nithiin with his script and is confident of making a comeback with this film.

Nithiin – Vakkantham Vamsi project will be launched once the Covid curve flattens. It will hit the floors by the end of this year.

Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan recovers from Covid-19

Actor cum politician Pawan Kalyan has tested negative for the novel coronavirus. The actor’s political party, Janasena, has released a statement regarding Power star’s health condition.

As per reports, the Vakeel Saab actor took an RT-PCR test three days ago, and the result came out negative. The doctors said that he is healthy and will recover completely soon.

The actor had contracted Coronavirus in the second week of April. Pawan Kalyan along with his staff took part in a public meeting in Tirupati on April 3 ahead of by-polls.

After this, PSPK experienced symptoms like nausea, chest congestion, and mild fever. Doctors found an infection in his lungs and they did the treatment for the same. Now, the Janasenani thanked all those who have prayed for his well-being.

On the movie front, Pawan Kalyan will next be seen in Hari Hara Veera Mallu directed by Krish and an untitled Telugu remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum. He also gave a nod to young directors like Harish Shankar and Surender Reddy.

Buzz: Covid messes up Khiladi’s budget plans

The makers of Ravi Teja’s Khiladi planned a 25-day schedule in Italy but had to cut it short after the Italian government-imposed travel restrictions due to Covid second wave. The unit could shoot only around 50% of the portion they had initially planned to. Consequently, the Italy schedule has ended up as a complete catastrophe.

The unforeseen circumstances that had arisen in the Italy schedule has reportedly messed up Khiladi’s budget plans.

The makers allotted Rs 15 crores budget for the Italy schedule. Now that they could not get the desired output, they will have to shoot many of these scenes in Hyderabad which would in turn end up burning a hole in their pocket. The producers will have to spend around Rs 25 crores to wrap up this schedule now.

Team Khiladi will be resuming shoot from 10th May and wrap up the remaining portion at a brisk pace. Owing to Covid second wave, Khiladi’s budget is shooting up big time.

Gopichand’s Seetimarr deferred its release date not once but twice. The film was supposed to release in theatres on 2nd April, but was postponed to a later date.

As per trusted sources, there seems to be a financial reason behind the postponement of the film.

Reportedly, the producer of Seetimarr kept quoting unusually high prices for the theatrical rights of the film and distributors did not show any interest, considering Gopichand’s recent track record and the pandemic situation.

Now, the producer is in talks with OTT platforms as he wishes to sell the direct to digital rights for a feasible amount. He is waiting for the right offer to come his way.

If an OTT platform offers a good price for the digital rights of the Seetimarr, the film will skip theatrical release and go the OTT way.

The Sampath Nandi directorial is billed to be a sports drama and it features Tamannaah in the lady lead role.

క్వారెంటైన్ లో ఉన్న ఆండ్రియా ఎలా ఇలా కుక్క పిల్లతో నాకించుకుంటుంది అంటూ ఫాలోవర్స్ విమర్శలు చేస్తున్నారు. ప్రస్తుత సమయంలో ప్రతి ఒక్కరు కూడా సామాజిక దూరం పాటించాల్సిందే.. ప్రతి ఒక్కరు ఈ సమయంలో కనీస జాగ్రత్తలు పాటించాల్సిందే. అలా కాదని కరోనాతో బాధపడుతున్న ఆండ్రియా కుక్క పిల్లతో అంత చనువుగా ఉండటం బుగ్గలపై నాకించుకోవడం ఖచ్చితంగా తప్పే అంటూ విమర్శలు వ్యక్తం అవుతున్నాయి.

‘‘మనకు కొవిడ్ లక్షణాలు కనిపించిన వెంటనే చికిత్స తీసుకోవాలి. మీకు దగ్గు జ్వరం తలనొప్పి ఒళ్లు నొప్పులు ఉన్నాయంటే కరోనా అయి ఉంటుంది. వెంటనే.. డాక్టరు వద్దకు వెళ్లి చికిత్స చేయించుకోండి. ఏ లక్షణాలు కనిపించినా కరోనా నిబంధనలు జాగ్రత్తలు పాటిస్తూ చికిత్స తీసుకోవాలి.’’ అని సూచించారు.

‘‘కొవిడ్ బారిన పడిన వారికి టైం అన్నింటికన్నా ప్రధానమైంది. తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రతీ ఆరోగ్య కేంద్రంలో ఆసుపత్రుల్లో కొవిడ్ డాక్టర్లను అందుబాటులో పెట్టింది. మీరు వాళ్లతో మాట్లాడొచ్చు. మీరు ఏ గవర్నమెంట్ ఆసుపత్రికి వెళ్లినా.. మందులు కిట్ రూపంలో ఇస్తారు. వాటిని వాడితే సరిపోతుంది. భయపడకండి. జాగ్రత్తగా ఉండండి’’ అంటూ చెప్పుకొచ్చారు విజయ్.

Days after getting suspended from the microblogging site Twitter permanently, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut faced a bog shock after a police case was filed against her.Accusing the Queen actress of hate speech and instigating communal disharmony, the spokesperson of Trinamool Congress Riju Datta has lodged a complaint against Kangana at the Ultadanga police station in Kolkata.

The spokesperson has claimed that through her social media posts, Kangana Ranaut has tried to incite communal disharmony. He had also accused Kangana of distorting the pictures of the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Benerjee and uploading them.

‘Ranaut has made several offensive posts from her verified official Instagram handle in the story section. She has also distorted and maligned the image of chief minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee,’ Riju Dutta said in the complaint.

Based on the complaint of Riju Dutta, a case under sections 153A, 504,505 IPC, and 43 and 66 IT Act was registered against the controversial actress.Kangana Ranaut has reacted sharply to the FIR registered against her. Accusing the West Bengal Chief Minister of killing her voice, the actress said, the cases of FIRs cannot scare her.

Kangana Ranaut landed in controversy after she reacted to the alleged post-poll violence that erupted in West Bengal. In a series of tweets, she called for a fitting response to the violence. As a result, she was banned from Twitter permanently.However, this is not the first time, she made it to the headlines with landing in controversy. Reacting to the Amazon Prime Video web-series Tandav row, Kangana said, the heads of the Tandav makers should be taken -off.
