Bollywood actor Aamir Khan tests positive for Covid-19
Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan is the latest celebrity to test positive for the novel coronavirus. The actor’s spokesperson issued a statement confirming the news about Khan diagnosed with Covid-19.
The statement read, “Mr Aamir Khan has tested positive for COVID-19. He is at home in self-quarantine, following all the protocols, and he’s doing fine. All those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. Thank you for all your wishes and concern.”
Aamir Khan is currently working on his upcoming film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. The actor has been travelling to many places as the film is being shot in India covering around 100 different locations.
Laal Singh Chaddha is an official Hindi adaptation of Hollywood’s blockbuster hit ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks. The film is helmed by director Advait Chandan.
Notably, Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali had also tested positive for the virus earlier this month.

Where is Ponnala Lakshmiah these days?
He was a four-time MLA. He was also the minister for major irrigation during 2009-20014 period. Not just that, he was the first PCC chief after Telangana was carved out. But, today this strong BC leader is keeping an unusually low profile. He is not even bothering to keep contact with the voters of his native constituency of Janagam.
No marks for guessing who the political leader is. He is Ponnala Lakshmaiah, one of the most well-known BC face of the Congress Party. Unfortunately for him, he suffered consecutive defeats in 2014 and 2018 assembly elections. Since then, he has not been keeping touch with Janagam constituency. There is not even a single instance of Ponnala taking out a protest or a rally or a dharna in the constituency since 2018. Occasionally, he goes live on the Facebook to give out his ideas on the latest politics. But, he is not visiting the constituency.
Ponnala Lakshmaiah was considered quite close to late YSR and had enjoyed very good relations with him. Even after YSR’s demise, the was active both as an irrigation minister and also as the PCC chief. But, two back-to-back defeats seem to have affected him very much.
Talasani Srinivas Yadav denies rumours of locking the Film theatres
The coronavirus cases in India are rising each passing day with the country recording 47,262 fresh cases in a day, the highest single-day rise so far this year. Apparently, Telangana is one of the states, which is witnessing a rise in active cases.
With the rise of active caseload, there were reports that film theatres in the state will be shut down again. We know the theatres reopened in parts in India under “Unlock 5.0”, after seven months of shutdown.
With the closure of nearly 10,000 theatres in mid-March last year, the film industry in the country has suffered a lot.
As the speculations about the closure of big screens are spreading faster, Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday responded in a video message saying that there will be no closure of cinema theatres in Telangana.
He denied rumours the rumours and said theatres will run as usual with Covid rules. The minister also said the film industry would go into huge losses if the big screens were closed again.

Telangana Assembly: Congress leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka miffed with Speaker for cutting off mike
HYDERABAD: Expressing anguish over his speeches being frequently obstructed in the Assembly, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, in a strongly-worded open letter to the Speaker, said he was feeling humiliated by the latter disconnecting his mike. He said not letting the Opposition leader to speak was not good for democracy.
The letter states ever since Congress MLAs have begun joining TRS, the happenings on the floor of the house are causing him mental strain. “I have been cooperating for the smooth conduct of business in the house. But, on every occasion, while I was playing my role by speaking on issues, repeatedly cutting off my mike is an act of insult,” he said.
“In one instance, I asked you to take photograph with you after submitting a representation, but you declined. This has hurt my soul (sic),” Vikramarka said. He urged the Speaker to protect the rights of members by acting in a non-partisan manner.

Earlier during the day, the Congress legislators attended the Assembly and Council wearing black fabric around the neck as a protest against the Speaker’s “biased attitude”. Speaking to the media after offering floral tributes at Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park, Bhatti said the ruling party was stifling the voices of Opposition. He said he had requested the Speaker many times to give them an opportunity to speak, but it had been in vain
Venu Sriram: Pawan Kalyan perfectly balances politics and movies
Venu Sriram bagged the golden opportunity of directing Pawan Kalyan for his third film – Vakeel Saab. The film is slated for release on 9th April and the makers have commenced promotions.
Speaking with media, Venu said working with Pawan Kalyan has been a great learning experience for him.
“Pawan Kalyan garu is one such actor who takes the pressure off the director. He is a master of multitasking and perfectly balances his political and movie career. I learnt a lot from him both personally and professionally,” he said.
Venu went on to say that Pawan Kalyan’s inputs played a decisive role in completing Vakeel Saab at a brisk pace.
“Vakeel Saab is not a frame-by-frame remake of Pink. We added a lot of regional flavour to the film in order to make it more appealing to native audiences,” he commented.
Vakeel Saab is expected to get off to a rollicking start at the box office given the fact that Pawan Kalyan will be seen on the big screens after three long years. The film is produced by Dil Raju

Centre hasn’t walked the talk on industrial aid: Telangana minister KT Rama Rao
HYDERABAD: Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao on Tuesday flayed the Centre for its lack of support towards industrial development in Telangana over the past six years, despite assuring the same under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
Replying to a question raised by M Janardhan Reddy and others during question hour in the State Assembly, the Minister said the Centre had not honoured the laws passed by the Parliament and failed to provide any assistance to the State till date.
He alleged that the Centre had not released any financial assistance to Telangana in the past six-and-a-half years and added that the laws made by the Central government in Parliament were being flouted, thus setting a bad precedent.
He lambasted the Central government’s claims of providing Rs 20 lakh crore under the Atmanirbhar Bharat package for industrial stimulus to overcome the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there was no benefit to Telangana with the Centre’s package except a few street vendors receiving loans of up to Rs 10,000 each, he said.
The Minister said that approvals were issued to set up 15,326 industries in the State under TS-iPASS in the past six years. Investments worth Rs 2,13,431 crore were attracted to the State under the scheme. The State government was committed to decentralisation of industrialisation and was promoting establishment of industries in backward regions of the State, he said.
Government mooting food processing units
Rama Rao said the State government was considering to establish food processing units in every constituency. The District Collectors concerned have identified locations for Special Food Processing Zones (SFPZ), and feasibility study reports are awaited, he said.
Replying to a question raised by P Sudarshan Reddy, the Minister said that food parks/clusters in 46 acres of land would be established through Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) in Narsampet of Warangal Rural district. The said land would be acquired by the District Collector at the earliest, he added.
