Huge budget allotted for Telangana, for 2021-22

Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao announced the annual budget for the financial year 2021-22, for Telangana state today. The budget has been estimated at Rs 2.30 lakh crore, with a projected revenue surplus of Rs 6,743 crore. This year’s budget is 63% more than the revised estimate of Rs 1.46 lakh crore for the year 2020-21, and this is despite the fact that there has been a major financial slump because of Coronavirus last year.

Harish Rao said that the government will continue to give priority to both the welfare of the people and the development of the state, despite the draining caused due to coronavirus. The revenue expenditure is estimated at over Rs. 1.69 Lakh Crores, while the capital expenditure is estimated at Rs. 29,046.77 Crores and the fiscal deficit is estimated at Rs. 45,509.60 Crores.

The finance minister said that the agricultural and allied sectors had registered a 17.7 per cent growth in 2020-21, while the secondary and service sectors recorded negative growth of 5.2% and 1.9% respectively. The state has recorded a positive growth of 1.3% in GSDP (Gross Domestic State Product) when compared to the negative growth of 3.8 per cent growth in GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the country due to the adverse impact of the pandemic.

A whopping Rs. 1,000 Crores has been allotted for the Chief Minister’s Dalit Empowerment Programme, which is a new program that the state government has introduced this year. Harish Rao said that this scheme will promote the overall welfare of the people belonging to the Dalit community, which was inspired by Dr. BR Ambedkar’s example.

Apart from this, Rs. 2,750 Crores has been allotted for Kalyan Lakshmi/Shadi Mubarak, Rs. 21.306.85 Crores for special component for SCs, Rs. 12,304.23 Crores for special component for STs, Rs. 338 Crores for weavers’ welfare and Rs. 5,522 Crores for BC welfare.

Telangana records 247 fresh COVID cases in a single day

COVID vaccine drive is reportedly found to have improved on Wednesday with 26433 beneficiaries across the state. However on the flip side, the state witnessed the highest count of Covid-19 cases for this year, in a single day on Wednesday with 247 new cases, a surge of cases in Kamareddy, Mancherial, Medchal-Malkajgiri districts has created the double trouble. This soon took the total tally to 3,01,769.

60000 test samples are under process to further report the covid count. The sudden rise was recorded subsequent to new outbreaks of positive cases from five schools across the state lately.

After a hiatus of 48 days, more than 200 cases are being reported on a daily basis since March 12. While 60,527 samples were assessed and results of 588 are awaited. Three more COVID-19 patients succumbed to the virus, increasing up the death toll to 1,659.

The new 247 cases include 45 from Mancherial, 41 from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 35 from Kamareddy, 29 from Greater Hyderabad region and 10 from Rangareddy. Till March 16 this year, a total of 93,59,772 samples have been sent to diagnostic tests. Of all the positive cases reported till date, 2,101 are active while 2,98,009 have recuperated.

Chandrababu Naidu challenges CID FIR in AP High Court

We know the CID officials probing the alleged land scam in Amaravati had summoned former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and directed him to appear before the CID regional office in Vijayawada.

Along with Naidu, former municipal minister P Narayana also received similar notices in the case. He will also be arriving before the CID office. Besides inside trading, they were also charged under SC, ST (Prevention of) Atrocities Act.

The latest update is Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday has filed a quash petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court challenging the FIR of CID. The High Court would take up the petition on Friday.

As per the CID notice, Naidu has to appear before investigating officer on March 23. In the notice, the former CM was asked not to intervene with the ongoing investigation process either indirectly or directly and not to tamper or dissolve the evidence.

TDP takes over the Tadipatri Municipality chairmanship!!

Unexpectedly, TDP won the chairmanship of Tadipatri municipality in Anantapur district. TDP councilor JC Prabhakar Reddy was elected as its chairman and Saraswati as its vice-chairman. While the TDP has a total of 18 councilors, the CPI and independent candidates also supported the TDP.

However, in the recent elections, the YCP won two out of the 36 wards in Tadipatri through consensus. With this, elections were held for 34 wards. The TDP won 18 divisions, while the YCP won 14, the CPI and the Independents won two divisions respectively.

On the other hand, the YCP won the Maidukuru Municipal Chairman’s seat in the Kadapa district. Machunur Chandra was elected as the chairman of the municipality and Mahaboob Sharif as the vice-chairman.

KCR will announce PRC to employees in two or three days!!

The CM KCR made key remarks in the assembly on the long-awaited ‘PRC’ for government employees in Telangana. CM KCR who participated in the discussion during the Assembly Budget Session spoke on many issues.

CM KCR said that the PRC will be announced to the employees within two or three days. He said that the Telangana govt would announce a respectable PRC. CM KCR said that the Telangana government will always be positive towards the employees.

KCR said, “Telangana employees will be paid the highest salaries in India and we are on our way forward to implement that promise.” He expressed confidence that the employees would definitely be satisfied after the PRC was announced.

The budget session for the fiscal year 2021-22 which has to be commenced from March 19 hasn’t materialized yet. The sole reason behind this is the Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency by-election.

Due to the by-election, the model election code will be in force from March 23 to May 2, Jagan decided not to convene the budget session for the fiscal year 2021-22.

In addition, it seems Jagan wanted to defer the budget session even after May 2 as he was of the view to shift the AP executive capital to Vishakapatnam on May 6.

On the other hand, YSRCP finalized M Gurumurthy as the candidate for the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election. By profession, M Gurumurthy is a physiotherapist and is a close associate of the YSR family.

Young actor Vishwak Sen and gorgeous dusky beauty Nivetha Pethuraj are going to share the scene space for the first time in ‘Paagal’. Billed to be a different love story, ‘Paagal’ is prepping up for a grand release in May.

The makers have today unveiled a poster featuring Nivetha. It can be seen from poster that she plays ‘Theera’ in the flick. Nivetha is seen hugging Vishwak Sen while he holds her tight with hands on her back.

Directed by Naressh Kuppili, ‘Paagal’ is presented by Dil Raju and produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations in collaboration with Bekkam Venu Gopal’s Lucky Media. Apart from Nivetha, Simran Choudhary and Megha Lekha have already been roped in as the two other heroines of the film. Manikandan is the cinematographer, while Radhan is the music director. ‘Paagal’ will be releasing on May 1st.

Vishwak Sen was last seen in Sailesh Kolanu’s directorial HIT and has also signed the Telugu remakes of Oh My Kadavule and Kappela, state reports. On the other hand, Nivetha Pethuraj is currently shooting for Venu Udugula’s Virata Parvam with Rana Daggubati, Sai Pallavi and Nandita Das.

Indian 2, the sequel to blockbuster Bharatheeyudu which released back in 1996, was promoted as one of the most prestigious projects in Indian cinema. However, the unit halted shoot following a major accident on the sets which claimed the lives of a few unit members.

Incidentally, the project did not hit the floors after the accident, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and there are reports claiming that the project has been scrapped by the producers.

Speaking with media, Kajal who was roped in to play the female lead in the film opened up about the postponement of the project.

“Majority of the crew working on Indian 2 hail from USA. They are unable to fly back to India owing to various reasons. That is reason why the shoot is postponed indefinitely,” she commented.

Meanwhile, both Shankar and Kamal Hassan move on to their subsequent projects. Kajal agreed to star in Vikram, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and Shankar announced a film with Ram Charan. There is no update on the possible resumption of Indian 2. It is unclear if the project will ever hit the floors again.

Coming to Kajal, she will next be seen in Mosagallu which is hitting the marquee tomorrow, 19th March. She will also be seen in Acharya, which is releasing on 13th May.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga made a striking debut with -Arjun Reddy which turned out to be a sensation hit at the box office and a few say it is one of the path-breaking films in Tollywood.

Soon after the release of Arjun Reddy, Sandeep received multiple calls from top-tier heroes in Tollywood and Mahesh Babu is one of them. The handsome hero wanted to collaborate with Sandeep but the latter could not come up with the right script that would suit Mahesh’s image and this project did not materialize.

Speaking about his potential collaboration with Mahesh Babu, Sandeep made an interesting comment.

“After Arjun Reddy’s release, Mahesh was one of the first actors to call me. Also, Namratha told Mahesh is ready to work with me if I could come up with the right script. Things did not fall into place then. I don’t know when, but Mahesh and I will definitely collaborate for a film,” Sandeep said.

Incidentally, Mahesh Babu and Tamannaah shot for an ad which was directed by Sandeep Vanga very recently.

Meanwhile, Mahesh is presently busy with Saravati Vaari Paata. This film is gearing up for release next Sankranthi season.

Impressive promotions & theatre count to benefit ‘Chaavu Kaburu Challaga’

Karthikeya‘s upcoming film ‘Chaavu Kaburu Challaga’ is hitting the big screens tomorrow (Friday). Touted to be a romantic comedy-drama, CKC is the big release of this week in Telugu.

When compared to films such as Mosagallu and Sashi, the Karthikeya starrer is releasing in a big number of theatres in Telugu states. The film will be released in 430 theatres, of which 151 theatres are from Telangana. On the other hand, Mosagallu and Sashi are dropping in 245 and 220 screaens, respectively.

Needless to say, Chaavu Kaburu Challaga has caught enough attention ahead of the release. Even before two weeks from the release, the movie started its promotions and made sure the film stays in the headlines for all good reasons.

The teasers, songs and promotional events have worked out very well for the film. Ahead of the release, the movie team organized events in major areas and with the help of social media influencers there, they created a big hype for the flick among the public. Karthikeya’s mass dance with Tik Tok fame Durga Rao on the road is the finest example for taking the film into the people.

As we reported earlier, the film needs Rs 13.5Cr to cross the breakeven mark. Going by the current buzz, the film may break the breakeven mark within the first week itself. The protagonist Karthikeya has taken special care to promote his film aggressively. It remains to be seen how good Chaavu Kaburu Challaga performs tomorrow on the big screens.

Sharwanand’s ‘Sreekaram‘, which was released on March 11, has received a positive response with the first show itself. Critics said the film is an inspiration to the youth and they must watch it.

However, when it comes to collections, the film failed to score big at the box office. Because of the poor promotions, the family drama could not hold the same range of numbers after receiving decent collections on the first day. Overall, in the first week, only 8.5 crore shares were collected in Andhra-Telangana.

With a worldwide break-even target of Rs 17.5 crore, Sreekaram crossed the 9.2 crore share mark in its first week. According to trade sources, this is a loss of almost 50% to distributors.

Actress Amrita Rao and her husband RJ Anmol who gave birth to an infant on 1st November last year, has been apparently jubilant with the new add on to their family. Amrita had kept her fans updated all throughout the pregnancy since then and her fans were equally excited about it.

Today the couple revealed their baby name as ‘Veer’ through an Instagram post sometime ago in the morning. Now, RJ Anmol uploaded a lovely photo of the family and the cuteness is undeniably wholesome. He captioned “Our world our happiness”, by dropping an emoji.

The trio is seen all smiles in the picture and this first picture reveal along with baby became a great delight to many today.Talking about the name Veer, Amrita disclosed, “Anmol & I are both very patriotic & the name ‘Veer’ was his first choice I loved it almost immediately”.

The couple shared their feelings about being parents and spending time with their son.
On asking how has been the experience of parenthood particularly with no assistance around, Amrita says, “Balancing Veer with My Work Meetings, days are shorter, nights are longer, clothes shabbier …but being a first-hand mom is the only way to know your baby like no one else. I feel stronger & proud I took the challenge”.
