Modi Very Much Impressed With Jagan!

Share

It appears PM Narendra Modi was all praise for YSRCP president and Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for presenting the Covid-19 situation in his state in right perspective and making meaningful demands during the Monday’s video conference.

Union health minister Harshavardhan had a telephonic talk with Jagan on Tuesday and conveyed Modi’s appreciation for the stand taken by AP on various Corona-related issues, including the stigma surrounding Covid-19.

The Chief Minister once again stressed on removing the stigma over coronavirus from the public and instil confidence among them to fight over the virus. He instructed the officials to bring awareness among the public over Covid-19 in order to control the further spread.

The Union minister said Jagan’s progressive and pragmatic outlook towards the future of the state and the country at large was laudable. He said the chief minister touched upon pertinent aspects that need to be addressed, like the Stigma surrounding Covid-19.

Rather than calling for a blanket extension of the lockdown, Jagan pitched for a rather different approach. He suggested that creating self-awareness among people should be the priority above imposition of restrictions and clamping down, which is adding to the stigma surrounding Covid-19.

The PM also reportedly appreciated Jagan’s call for restoration of public transport to enable the working class move around freely as it is mandatory for the economy to get back to where it was.

Jacqueline Gets Jolt Ahead of Tollywood Entry

Share

Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez appeared in an item song in Prabhas starrer “Saaho” but that was less of a Telugu film more of a multi-lingual Pan Indian project.

She is debuting in a proper Telugu film now. She will play a princess’s role in the Pawan Kalyan starrer period drama being directed by Krish.

She was roped in to attract the Hindi market. But Krish’s plans may not work as her recent movies in Hindi bombed.

Moreover, her latest Netflix movie Mrs.Serial Killer was mercilessly trolled by one and all. The film is currently streaming on Netflix but it has already been declared dud.

With such a track record, Jacqueline’s casting may not help Krish and his team to sell it to the North Indian market.

The period film is said to be set in 1870. Pawan Kalyan plays the role on the lines of a Robin Hood. The main heroine has not yet been decided but Jacqueline will play the second female lead.

Bigg Boss 4 Review Meeting: Key Decision Taken?

Share

One of the most awaited reality show is none other than Bigg Boss. Ever since its arrival into Telugu circuits, the show became quite successful too and the second season has got highest TRP’s due to Kaushal and co’s crazy antics inside the house. So when is Bigg Boss 4 going to turn up on TV?

Apparently, with the lockdown restrictions, social distancing norms and other things in place, definitely Bigg Boss makers will not be risking to keep 15-20 contestants in a closed place for the sake of the show. Even if they do, any legal petition from anyone would push them into trouble. So in these turbulent times, they have to take a key decision, regarding which a review meeting is said to have got held recently.

Talk is coming out that like Wimbledon and IPL, even Bigg Boss is also called off for this year, as things are not even 1% favourable for the show to run. Though some celebs have already agreed to enter the house after getting Covid-19 tests done, and Nagarjuna likely to return as the host, the show’s producers are said to have taken a decision to call it off this year.

Anyway, another final decision will be taken regarding this decision after the Central government announces lockdown exit plan and how new rules will be enforced when it comes to TV and Cinema production.

AP ministers spend night in gas-leak affected villages

Share

Four Andhra Pradesh Ministers and two MPs of the ruling YSR Congress Party spent Monday night in villages affected by gas leak from LG Polymers India factory to instill confidence among the villagers who returned to their homes four days after the disaster.

Ministers Avanthi Srinivas, Botsa Satyanarayana, Dharmana Krishnadas, K. Kanna Babu, and MPs Vijayasai Reddy and MVV Satyanarayana stayed in the five villages near the chemical plant, interacted with the villagers, and tried to reassure them on their safety.

Vijayasai Reddy, who spent the night outside a house in Venkatapuram, said the effort proved that the government was not merely paying compensation but also wanted to instill confidence among people affected by the gas leak.

Twelve people were killed and over 400 taken ill following leak of styrene gas from the chemical plant on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam in the early hours of May 7.

About 10,000 people from these villages were evacuated and kept in rehabilitation camps in the city. They started returning on Monday evening after the government declared the villages safe for living.

On the direction of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Ministers and MPs spent the night in the villages to instill confidence among the people.

Tourism minister Avanthi Srinivas, who spent the night at a house in Padmanabhanagar, went around in the village on Tuesday morning and interacted with villagers to know their problems.

The Minister claimed that normalcy has returned to the village. Agriculture Minister K. Kannababu said the villagers spent a peaceful night after four days.

The ministers announced that health camps will be conducted in all villages in the next 100 days to monitor the health of the villagers.

Vijaya Sai Reddy assured the people that the villages will be developed as green and safe zone. The government will arrange food for the villagers, provide 25 tonnes of fodder for the cattle and ensure every possible help till the situation completely returns to normal.

They said volunteers will take up enumeration from Tuesday for payment of compensation. The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10,000 each to the people in affected villages.

The Ministers on Monday presented documents to eight out of 12 bereaved families relating to payment of ex gratia of Rs 1 crore each. The payment for remaining cases will be made in a day or two.

As per the announcement made by the Chief Minister, those hospitalised for serious ailments would get Rs 10 lakh each and others admitted would receive Rs 1 lakh each. The entire cost of hospitalization will be borne by the government.

Sai Reddy back in action in Vizag!

Share

YSR Congress party general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy, who has been avoiding coming to Visakhapatnam ever since the poisonous gas leakage from LG Polymers Ltd took place claiming the lives of 12 persons on May 7, is back in action.

Vijay Sai Reddy, who tried to come to Visakhapatnam along with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on the fateful day in helicopter, was asked to get down by the chief minister from his car. In his place, Jagan took health minister Alla Nani along with him Visakhapatnam.

This led to a lot of speculations in the media stating that all is not well between him and Jagan and that the latter expressed unhappiness over the way Sai Reddy allegedly mishandled the Coronavirus situation in Visakhapatnam.

For the next four days, Sai Reddy was nowhere to be seen in the port city, at a time when everybody thought he would be in the centre stage of relief operations.

Everybody thought the MP was forced to stay out the works, which were entrusted to a group of ministers led by agriculture minister K Kanna Babu.

But on Monday, the YSRC leader was back in Visakhapatnam. He had not only overseen the relief operations in the affected villages, but also slept along with the ministers in one of the villages.

Sai Reddy clarified to the reporters that he could not come to Visakhapatnam on the fateful day, because there was no place in the helicopter and he had thought the presence of health minister was more important than him at the spot.

“It was unnecessarily made an issue by the yellow media and the TDP leaders,” he said.

The MP said he had adopted Visakhapatnam and there was no question of running away from my responsibilities during crisis times.

“I will put in all my energies for the development of Visakhapatnam city,” he said.

Sai Reddy said the chief minister wants this area to be made into a safe and green zone and so, there was no need for the people to worry.

“We shall stay put in the villages to give confidence to the people and see that everybody is safe. We have brought the people here only after ensuring that there are no chemicals in the air here,” he said.
