#PriyankaReddy: Telugu Celebs Reaction

Share

The gang-rape and subsequent murder of Dr Priyanka Reddy has created a furore and a sense of uneasiness everywhere. It’s a heart-wrenching situation to know that Priyanka is trapped by the inhuman beasts who punctured her bike’s tyre and then took her to an isolated place to rape her for hours, before choking her death and then burning her body with kerosene.

This inhuman act not only demands condemnation, but everyone is seeking for speedy justice in the case as this one is no less than a Nirbhaya rape case that shook the whole of the nation. Here is what Telugu celebs are saying about this.

Disturbed by the news, Sai Dharam Tej tweeted, “Angry. Saddened. Shocked. Speechless. Hearing such heart-wrenching news even today is absolutely disturbing. Let us work together as a society to bring a change and put an end to this barbarism. #JusticeForPriyankaReddy”.

Hero Vijay Devarakonda urged people to take care of the men/boys in our homes and teach them about respective women. In his lengthy message he says, those people who don’t behave like humans don’t need human rights.

Heroine Raashi Khanna says, “At a loss of words.. I feel helpless and heartbroken! It’s gut wrenching to even read about it! Where are we heading!!? These monsters need to be hanged! #RIPPriyankaReddy”

Senior hero Rajasekhar says, “Heartbroken, #Priyankareddy and #Manasa.Just outrageous. The ones responsible must be punished, how long will this go on? How many more souls should we lose! the media and others on the internet are being shameless! Where are your ethics and morals? Sharing images of the victim… How insensitive are you! Give the families some space, let them mourn! Stop surrounding them with your cameras and mics. As a father of two girls, my heart goes out to the families, I hope they find the strength to cope with the loss #PriyankaReddy and #Manasa deserve justice”.

Producer Raj Kandukuri feels that cruel mindset of these rapists should be changed. He tweeted, “Feeling sad and helpless for #Drpriyankareddy. No security measures are enough unless the cruel mindset in the human animals change. No amount of punishment is match for this inhuman deed”.

Big stars like Mahesh, Allu Arjun, Samantha, Rakul are yet to react on the incident however.

What’s Troubling This Good Boy!

Sometimes few films lost in the craze of others despite the fact that some proven filmmakers helm them. One such is said to be happening with Kalyan Ram’s upcoming movie Entha Manchivadavu ra now. Directed by Satish Vegesna of Satamanam Bhavati fame, the film is planned for Jan 14th release.

Rumoured to be a remake of super hit Gujarati film, actually, the film’s teaser got some craze for the movie. However, the presence of Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is actually said to be threatening the prospects of Entha Manchivadavu Ra. While fetching theatres is a daunting task for this movie, also the lack of experienced producers and happening chaps behind it is said to be affecting the film’s business.

Produced by Sivalenka Krishnaprasad and Aditya Music together, the film is said to be finding it tough when it comes to finding the right distributors. Because most distributors are said to have either invested on Sarileru Neekevvaru or Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo or Darbar, and they are confident that those mass films will rake more moolah during the Sankranthi season.

That’s the reason Kalyan Ram’s film is finding it hard to sell, and we have to see how the business closes.

KCR punch to RTC JAC leaders

With the TSRTC issue getting a happy ending, CM KCR has now directed the officials to arrange a meeting with RTC employees. On Sunday this meeting will be held at Pragathi Bhavan at 12 Noon.

For this meeting, CM wanted at least five employees from each depot across the state. There a total of 97 bus depots in Telangana and among the five member representation, KCR asked to include two women employees and also employees of all communities. The RTC MD was instructed to make travel arrangements for the employees who would reach from different parts of Telangana to Hyderabad.

However, KCR directed the officials not to allow RTC JAC or union leaders at any cost as he opined that they are polluting the employees with bad ideas. Yesterday at the press meet, KCR criticized union leaders who led an unsuccessful strike and added that there is no question of meeting union leaders for talks and he would not encourage them at all hereafter. KCR also vowed that eliminate unions in RTC and in its place, it would appoint two officials at every depot who would like into the issues of employees.

Overall, KCR is making sure to influence RTC employees in his way and not entertain unions and leaders.

Chandrababu’s U-Turn: Karnataka To Maharashtra

Share

In the 2018 Karnataka assembly elections, TDP chief Chandrababu who quit ties with BJP, campaigned against the saffron party. Post the election results, Congress and JD(U) alliance formed government and Chandrababu graced the swearing-in ceremony of Kumaraswamy as Karnataka CM. But then Congress-JD(U) government did not last long and the rest is history.

In the general elections, Chandrababu went all out against BJP but it did not work. TDP secured a humiliating defeat and this has made Chandrababu to go soft on BJP. In the recent times, Chandrababu has restricted himself talking against BJP even though the saffron leaders are continuously attacking the TDP.

Exactly a week back, Chandrababu personally thanked Home Minister Amit Shah for restoring AP capital Amaravati in Indian map. This caught the attention of national media and political experts. Many believe that Chandrababu is deliberately going soft on BJP so as to patch up the differences.

Another incident of the TDP honcho being silent on BJP is the Maharashtra ‘power’ game. BJP and Shiva Sena were on a tug of war for the CM chair. Dramatic scenes witnessed in the last one week and finally Shiva Sena grabbed the CM chair. Last evening Chandrababu formally greeted Uddhav Thackeray on taking oath as CM through his social media handles like any other politician.

Even though BJP has clarified that the doors are closed for TDP in NDA, Chandrababu is taking many turns that ultimately lead to BJP. Will the TDP leader’s efforts pay off? That looks tough but never know politics change in minutes if not in seconds.

Why did KCR soften his stand on RTC staff?

Share

Till a couple of days ago, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao appeared to be adopting a stubborn stand on the employees and workers of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) who had been on strike since October 5.

KCR was so tough on his stand that he declared that all those who were on strike were dismissed and mentioned the same in the government’s affidavit filed before the high court.

He said the RTC cannot be brought back to the pre-strike period at all and the chapter of RTC was closed.

The RTC management also told the court that it required Rs 640 crore per month to bail out the corporation and the state government was not in a position to pay even a single rupee.

Even when the helpless RTC employees announced that they were withdrawing their strike, he did not call the striking leaders for talks.

And when the employees sought to report to their duties on Tuesday, he got them arrested by the police.

And with the high court giving green signal to the privatisation of RTC routes, the employees had lost all their hopes on getting back their jobs. They were only hoping for a solution in the labour court.

Suddenly on Thursday evening, things changed dramatically. KCR showed tremendous magnanimity towards the RTC employees and asked them to report to the duty without any issues and assured to take care of all their welfare in future, provided they do not fall into the trap of opposition parties and union leaders.

He also invited the RTC employees to Pragati Bhavan for an interaction to understand all their problems.

He declared that there would be no privatisation and in fact, said he thought of handing over the private routes to the RTC employees, if at all he wanted to do any privatisation.

How come there is this sudden change of heart in KCR?

The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders claimed that KCR had to come down and soften his stand towards the RTC employees only under pressure from the Centre which threatened to intervene if he did not resolve the issue.

The TRS leaders, however, say KCR always had soft corner towards the employees, but he was angry with them for falling into the trap of the opposition. He ensured that the government gained complete grip over the RTC by presenting a strong argument in the high court.

Once the union leaders gave up on their demands and declared that they were calling off their strike and the employees started revolting against the leaders, the chief minister worked out the bailout plan.

However, KCR has revealed that it was high court chief justice Raghavendra Singh Chowhan who had prevailed upon him to come to the rescue of RTC workers.

The chief minister happened to meet the CJ at a function in Raj Bhavan three days ago, where the latter asked KCR to take a sympathetic view of the RTC employees’ lives and their families. That changed the mind of KCR!

Shock to Naidu: SC leader defects to YSRC!

Share

In yet another shock to Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, senior Dalit leader and former chairman of SC/ST Commission Karem Sivaji is all set to take a plunge into the ruling YSR Congress party.

Sivaji, a prominent Mala leader and former president of Mala Mahanadu, resigned from the post of SC/ST Commission chairman only on Thursday, six months after the YSR Congress party came to power.

He wrote letters to chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and also TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu to this effect.

Party sources said Sivaji along with hundreds of his followers would join the YSRC in the presence of Jagan later in the day.

Sivaji’s defection follows the jumping of aother prominent Mala leader Jupudi Prabhakar Rao who also deserted the TDP to join the YSRC. Both the defections are a big setback to the TDP.

Like Jupudi, Sivaji was also highly critical of the YSRC and Jagan till recently. He accused the YSRC of being hand in glove with the BJP, which was trying to destabilise the TDP government.

But such leaders have chosen to defect to the same party which they had abused till recently for their political survival!

This day in 2010: A first step towards a new history!

Share

It was exactly this day nine years ago that a first step was made towards creating a new history in Andhra Pradesh politics.

The step was for the formation of a new regional party in the state and the burial of more than 125-year old national party.

On November 29, 2010, then Congress MP from Kadapa Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy resigned from his Lok Sabha seat and also from the party, raising a banner of revolt against the Congress high command which tried to split his family and humiliating the family of late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy who was responsible for bringing the grand old party to power twice in Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan’s mother Y S Vijayalakshmi too resigned as Congress MLA from Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa in support of her son. He announced floating of a new political party – YSR Congress.

Jagan wrote a strongly-worded letter to Congress president Sonia expressing unhappiness over the way he and his mother were ill-treated by the party for launching the Odarpu Yatra across the state.

He even hinted at a conspiracy to kill his father and called the helicopter crash probe an eyewash.

Many felt that Jagan had taken a big risk by quitting the Congress party and even senior leaders close to him reportedly suggested to him to come to a compromise with Sonia Gandhi. But Jagan did not relent and decided to go ahead.

Expectedly, Jagan had to face a lot of troubles from the Congress-led centre, especially in the form of a CBI case into his alleged disproportionate assets and was jailed for 16 months. Yet, he never compromised on his principles and self-respect.

Nine years down the line, Jagan had achieved what he aspired for – the chief minister’s post to complete the unfinished welfare agenda of his father YSR who died in a tragic helicopter crash.

The people have given him a massive mandate, which was unprecedented in the history of Andhra Pradesh, whether it was a combined state or a residuary state – 151 MLAs and 22 MPs with nearly 50 per cent vote share.

And what has happened to the Congress? It has completely disintegrated and virtually disappeared from the political scene of the state. If people talk about the Congress now, it is only YSR Congress. That is a new chapter in Andhra’s political history!

Why can’t women enjoy sex?: Director

Share

Director Musassar Aziz has reacted to people criticising a dialogue delivered by Bhumi Pednekar in the upcoming comedy, “Pati Patni Aur Woh”, where her character is seen saying she loves sex.

In the film’s trailer released a while back, Bhumi’s character meets Kartik Aaryan’s protagonist for a prospective arranged marriage.

“Ji humein sex bohot pasand hai,” she tells him. While many Bollywood buffs have had a hearty laugh, many others have objected it to it, saying this was adult humour, not suitable for family viewing, reports timesnow.com.

“Why do you have a problem when a woman says she loves sex? Why is that adult humour? When a man says he loves sex, you are okay with it, but when a woman says she loves sex, everyone has a problem. Why can’t a woman like sex? Does that make her a person of less character? Sex is as pleasurable for a man as it is for a woman,” said Aziz, interacting with the media while promoting the film.

Pati Patni Aur Woh stars Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday, and is a remake of BR Chopra’s 1978 hit of the same name. The film is slated to release on December 6.

4 held for rape, murder of Priyanka Reddy

Hyderabad: Two days after her charred body was found below a bridge in Telangana’s Shadnagar town, police have arrested the culprits responsible for the horrific murder of a 27-year-old veterinarian.

Earlier today, officers familiar with the investigation had told media outlets that a truck driver and cleaner were brought in for questioning in connection to the crime along with two others.

The matter came to light on Thursday morning when locals found the charred body of a woman under the Chatanpally bridge near Shadnagar town. Local law enforcement was alerted and officers arrived at the spot in no time.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the body was that of a veterinarian who went missing from the Tondupally toll plaza the previous night. The senior superintendent of police (SSP) ordered the formation of a special team to crack the chilling murder.

According to the victim’s family, she went to a clinic in Kolluru village on Wednesday afternoon. On her way back to her home in Shamshabad, she parked her scooty at a spot near the Tondupally toll plaza and took a cab to a dermatologist in Gachibowli.

She took a cab back to the same spot but found the tire of her scooty punctured upon her return. The victim placed a call to her sister at around 9:45 pm and informed her about the flat tire and how someone had offered to help.

The owner of a cycle repair shop told investigators that a boy had wheeled in the victim’s two-wheeler somewhere between 9 and 10 pm on the night of the murder. Soon after, police found her footwear and pieces of her clothing at a spot not far from the toll plaza.

Also found there was an empty bottle of alcohol. This fuelled speculation that the culprits may have intentionally flattened the tire of her scooty to offer their help.

Investigators believe that she may have been sexually assaulted by the accused before they murdered her and burnt her body under the Chatanpally bridge near Telangana’s Shadnagar town.

In her statement to the police, the victim’s sister said that she was the last person to speak to her after which the victim’s cell phone had been switched off.

The sheer brutality of this unnerving crime has sent waves of shock across the country with citizens from across India demanding justice for the 27-year-old veterinarian who was targeted and murdered by the accused.

BC vs Reddy tussle in Telangana PCC!

Share

If there is one strong reason why people of Telangana are compelled to vote the Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by K Chandrasekhara Rao back to power, it is the weak opposition, particularly the Congress party.

Though the party is down in the dumps for the last five years, the leaders are not learning lessons. The party which had won just 19 out of 119 MLA seats has now been reduced to just six MLAs.

There is no change in the attitude of the party leaders, despite the huge loss in the recent by-election to Huzurnagar assembly seat.

Now, with the Congress high command is planning to infuse some life into the party by revamping the Pradesh Congress Committee and appointing an enthusiastic leader as the PCC chief, the tussle has begun in the party in the name of the castes and seniority.

Apparently to pre-empt the appointment of another Reddy leader in place of outgoing PCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Backward Class leaders are strongly resisting the move and demanding that the new PCC chief should be from BC community.

Several senior Congress leaders belonging to BC communities met at a private hotel on Thursday demanding that the post of TPCC be given to a leader from their community.

More than 100 BC leaders from across Telangana State including former PCC Presidents Ponnala Lakshmaiah and V Hanumantha Rao, ex-MLA Anil Kumar Yadav, Kuna Srisailam Goud and others attended the meeting.

The meeting resolved that in order to strengthen Congress in Telangana, the party needs to empower leaders from the BC community.

Besides the posts of PCC President, prominence and adequate representation should be given to BC leaders on other important posts in the PCC and AICC.

They said BCs should be given tickets in proportionate to their population in the forthcoming municipal elections. Further, he said the creamy layer among BCs should be removed.

How Did TDP Use Drones Over CM’s Office?

Share

Remember the fuss made by the Telugu Desam Party leaders when the Irrigation department authorities had used drones to monitor the flood levels in Krishna river in August last?

The TDP leaders raised a lot of hue and cry over flying of two drones over TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s riverfront residence at Vundavalli stating that flying of drones in the area was breach of security norms, as it falls under high security zone. They alleged that there is a big conspiracy behind usage of drones.

Naidu himself made it a big issue questioning as to how somebody could fly drone over his residence without police permission.

“Are they trying to put my life in risk? It is a clear case of conspiracy,” he said.

Now, as if giving a tit for tat response, the YSR Congress party leaders gave a complaint to the Guntur police alleging that the TDP leaders had operated drones during the visit of Naidu, along with his MPs and MLAs and party leaders to Amaravati capital region on Thursday.

YSRC leader Lella Appi Reddy, presently in-charge of Guntur parliamentary constituency, in his complaint with Thullur deputy superintendent of police, stated that the TDP leaders had used drones over state secretariat complex at Velagapudi which is a high security zone because of the presence of state assembly and chambers of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“Operating drones without the permission of police in the high security zone is a crime, as it posed threat to the security of the chief minister and other public representatives,” he argued.

Appi Reddy said the inquiries have revealed that the drones were operated at the behest of TDP general secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh.

“There appear to be a big conspiracy behind usage of drones in the Velagapudi area. This conspiracy has to be busted and action should be taken against the TDP leaders,” he demanded.

Lunch for RTC staff, no relief for union leaders!

Share

As thousands of Telangana RTC employees returned to their duties on Friday with a lot of relief on their face, it was a big setback for Telangana RTC employees’ union leaders.

The RTC management has decided against admitting the union leaders back into the duties, as the Telangana government refused to pardon the leaders who provoked the employees to take up the strike.

While welcoming chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to take back all the employees into the work, convenor of JAC of TSRTC employees’ unions E Ashwathama Reddy condemned the cancellation of duties of the union leaders. “This is atrocious. We shall approach the labour commissioner seeking justice,” he said.

Reddy pointed out that the unions not only look into the worker’s issues but also join the duties if necessary. He demanded that elections be held for the RTC unions. He also asked the government to put up a referendum and ask the workers if there was a need of unions.

The JAC leaders extended apologies to the public for causing inconvenience to them during the 52-day strike. He also extended condolences to the bereaved families and termed the workers’ death as unfortunate during the strike.

Meanwhile, KCR decided to have a meeting with RTC workers from all the 97 depots in the state on December 1 over lunch at Pragati Bhavan.

He invited five members from each depot and instructed the RTC management to make arrangements for their travel to attend the meeting. Out of five members, at least two members should be women. The chief minister will interact personally with workers after the lunch.

As expected, there is no invitation for the union leaders for the lunch programme.

PM Modi takes bath at airport, doesn’t book luxury hotels

Share

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is often blamed for his frequent foreign visits and how they might drain our economy, reveals the inside story that the PM focus more on cutting extra price solely spent on him. With spending less money as a priority, the technical halts of Modi’s foreign visits have a few details that the country must know.

It is revealed that Modi opts to take accommodation or take a shower at airport terminals instead of staying in luxury five-star hotels overnight. The deets have been disclosed by Home Minister Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. “In his personal and public life, PM Modi has followed a very disciplined regimen. For instance, whenever PM Modi goes on a state visit abroad, he takes less than 20 per cent staff with him. Similarly, for the official delegation, he has discouraged using a large number of cars. Earlier officials were using separate cars. and now they use a bus or a large vehicle,” he said.

Amit Shah also spoke on the ongoing debate on the Special Protection Group (Amendment) Bill, 2019. He said security cover of SPG has been misused on various occasions by the Gandhi family but PM Modi, who has been provided state security for the past 20 years, has never flouted the security blue book.

“For some, security cover has been a status symbol. For some, security has become a trivial issue where norms are violated at will. But let’s follow the example of Modiji who adheres to the security norms and protocols,” the Home Minister said.

Modi saving millions by using airport loos and low-budget accommodations has set tough norms. However, trolls are ever-ready to hit back at almost everything. Trolls claim that Modi uses 200 million worth aircraft to fly to a foreign country but used airport bathrooms sound a bit strange. One user wrote why can’t Modi fly a simple business class if he is keen on saving money.
