Govt Lands Details on CM Jagan’s Table

Share

The details of government-owned lands are on CM Jagan’s table. As per reliable sources, for the last two months, the revenue department has done extensive work and provided the complete details of lands in government ownership to CMO. The file is now on CM Jagan’s table. The file has details of government lands in Visakhapatnam and few other districts as well.

While initially it was suspected that this was all for the proposed new capital city and assessment of government lands in various districts, the latest we learnt is that this is for the assessment of government assets. Jagan administration is toying with the idea of selling government properties to raise revenue of state government.

As AP is going through a severe financial crunch and Centre hasn’t kept its promises on AP Reorganization Act, Jagan has no other option left but to sell government properties. As Jagan’s Navaratnalu schemes require huge money, the government is contemplating to sell the unused properties to private persons to raise money.

Opposition parties are raising serious concerns over Jagan’s policy on lands after his sand policy miserably failed leaving construction industry in neck-deep losses.

He’s said to be trying hard to distance his daughters from this pub addiction.

Pawan Kalyan Has Turned Pawan Naidu?

Share

For quite some time, YSR Congress party and Jana Sena Party have been indulging in a war of words with the latter taking up an aggressive stand against the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government and its policies.

The war reached a new high after Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan started attacking Jagan on sand issue in the last few days.

At his Visakhapatnam rally, Pawan went all out against the YSRC and the chief minister. Naturally, the YSRC leaders, especially those from Pawan’s Kapu community, launched a counter-attack.

The inadvertent reference by Jagan to Pawan Kalyan’s three wives has taken this war to an ugly turn, as Pawan hurled abuses at the chief minister saying whether the latter had any shame in making such comments and asking him, too, to marry three wives if he wanted.

The YSRC leaders noticed a deliberate attempt by the Jana Sena chief to attribute caste motive to Jagan.

For a long time, Pawan has been referring to the chief minister as “Jagan Reddy,” to point out that he was favouring his own community.

So, they now have a chance to shoot back at Pawan, who appeared to be clearly following the line of Telugu Desam Party headed by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

They are of the view that Pawan’s whole objective is to favour the TDP president ultimately and then get political benefits from him.

There is also a talk that Pawan is planning to bring about a patch-up between Kapu and Kamma communities, which are otherwise rivals, to take on Reddys.

In fact, both Naidu and Pawan appear to be systematically taking up issues in tandem to attack Jagan and both of them are targeting Reddy community.

Apparently realising this, the YSRC leaders have started calling Pawan Kalyan as Pawan Naidu, in retaliation to the Jana Sena chief calling the chief minister as Jagan Reddy.

On Tuesday, state information and public relations minister Perni Nani referred to Jana Sena chief as “Pawan Naidu,” instead of Pawan Kalyan.

May be, it is an attempt to alienate Pawan from his own Kapu community and project him as a pro-Kamma, as he is toeing the line of Naidu!

Rashmi Gautham Turns Lesbian!

Share

Rashmi Gautham shot to fame with her TV show “Jabardasth” and is currently hosting a couple of TV shows but her film career is not happening much.

After the commercial success of “Guntur Talkies”, she was flooded with many offers as the heroine and she did accept them left and right but none of them had succeeded at the box-office.

The flops have left her in no new offers. The bold actress is now signing a web series.

If reports are to be believed, she has signed a web series in which she will do a lesbian role. Buzz is that she will have to perform some hot sex scenes.

Rashmi is not new to performing such hot scenes. She did smooch scenes and had done exposing in ‘Guntur Talkies’.

Gopichand Too Opts for Partnership

Share

Macho star Gopichand also has realized that his market has come crashing down. He has also joined the club of stars whose films are bringing minimum openings.

Gopichand has signed three projects in recent times but all these projects are now struggling to find financiers.

After the massive failure of ‘Chanakya’, several producers have backed off. The announced projects have stopped the shooting.

Financiers have lost confidence in his action dramas. Gopichand has now made a wise decision.

He has come forward not to take a paycheck. Gopichand will also be a partner in each of his next movies. He will take his remuneration only after the producer completes business.

He will share profits instead of remuneration. He is already implementing this for Sampath Nandi’s film that was recently launched. Tamannah is the heroine.

News Scan: Sand storm, Pawan polygamy, English row!

Share

The Central government’s decision to impose President’s rule in Maharashtra was the major issue that hit the headlines in major Telugu newspapers in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

However, controversial issues like sand shortage, multiple marriages of actor-politician Pawan Kalyan and Jagan government’s decision to introduce English as the medium of instruction continued to dominate the front pages of these dailies.

Sakshi is the only newspaper which carried a big flyer on the Central Board of Direct Taxes’ statement that it had busted a hawala racket worth Rs 3,300-crore that was spread across multiple cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad with links to “leading corporate houses” in the infrastructure sector.

The Sakshi story confined the CBDT statement to Rs 150 crore racket involving corporate biggies from Andhra.

It pointed out a series of IT raids on then Telugu Desam Party leaders like Sujana Chowdary earlier this year and also an infrastructure major whose promoter is closely related to a media baron (obviously referring to Navayuga) and bagged the Polavaram contract at escalated value.

Otherwise, both Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy took the Maharashtra drama as the lead story, explaining how the Centre gained control over the state taking advantage of the uncertainty in the government formation. Sakshi relegated this development to a single column on the right side of the page.

For Sakshi, the lead story, however, is chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s review on the implementation of government schemes and selection of beneficiaries in a transparent and speedy manner.

Interestingly, Jagan’s review meeting was also a second lead story in Andhra Jyothy. The lead point, however, is the decision to introduce beneficiary card for every scheme. The conduct of state-level survey to identify beneficiaries, conduct of sand week from Thursday to ensure adequate supply of sand and strict vigilance on those indulging in corruption in sand supply were the highlights of this story.

The same story was also prominently highlighted by Eenadu, but below the fold on the front page. It highlights availability of two lakhs tonnes every day and crackdown on corruption in sand supply.

Sakshi has completely ignored the termination of agreement with Singapore government-led consortium to develop start-up area in Amaravati, while Eenadu made it a big story on page-1 below the fold.

“Singapore left Amaravati” screamed the headline in Eenadu, saying the start-up area project was cancelled with mutual consent. Interestingly, even Andhra Jyothy did not attach much importance to it and pushed it into the inside pages.

Another national story on the likely judgement of Supreme Court on bringing chief justice of India into the purview of Right to Information Act also figured as a major story in both Sakshi and Eenadu, while Andhra Jyothy did not consider it as a priority item.

The ugly debate over Pawan Kalyan’s polygamy has become a frontpage story for all the three big Telugu newspapers.

While Eenadu was confined to only Pawan’s outburst asking Jagan whether the latter had gone to jail only because of the former’s multiple marriages, both Sakshi and Andhra Jyothy carried the version of information minister Perni Nani, who attacked Jana Sena chief, describing him as Pawan Naidu.

The debate over English as the medium of instruction was yet another issue that figured prominently in the three major dailies.

Eenadu carried it as an anchor story, highlighting the movement to save mother tongue launched by as many as 39 organisations under the umbrella of Forum for Telugu as Medium of Instruction.

Andhra Jyothy, too, carried an anchor story on this issue as a big debate and carried the argument that both Telugu and English should be there for medium of instruction.

Sakshi carried only a pointer to the statement of State BC Welfare Association president Janga Krishna Murthy who alleged that the debate against English medium was only to benefit corporate schools and deny advantage to the government schools.

Apart from these common stories, each newspaper has its own priority news on the front page. Eenadu carried small reports on senior journalist Rajat Sharma opposing the media gag order issued by the Jagan government and a curtain raiser on Chandrababu Naidu’s Sand Deeksha on Thursday.

Sakshi carried a small story on Modi’s visit to Brazil for BRICS meeting and Andhra Jyothy published a report on RTI commission’s order against secret GOs of the state governments.

I am Unhurt and Safe, says Rajasekhar

On Wednesday, actor Rajasekhar had a narrow escape in a road accident in Hyderabad. As the media is reporting that he sustained injuries, Rajasekhar clarified that he was unhurt in the accident.

In a statement, he explained that he was driving back home from Ramoji Film City when the accident took place.

According to him, his Mercedes Benz car overturned near Appa junction on the Outer Ring Road when he was driving to him in the early hours.

Some passengers in a car passing through the same road while the accident took place immediately rushed to the place and recognized him. They broke the windowpane to bring him out of the car.

Due to the safety features of the Benz car, he was unhurt.

“I had no injuries and I am perfectly alright. I have informed the police from the accident spot. My wife immediately rushed to pick me up,” he said in a statement.

Rajasekhar urged the media not to make it an issue. It is a minor accident and I am safe, he said.

Hero’s foreign jaunts at producers’ expense?

Share

When a big hero is engaged in shooting for a film, it is like a jackpot for him. As long as the production goes on, the hero doesn’t have to spend a penny from pocket.

Right from salaries of hero’s personal staff to manager’s expenses and even make-up man’s salary are borne by the producer.

This has become very common these days. But of late, producers are forced to bear the expenses of heroes’ foreign tours during the production period.

Generally, it takes at least 10 months to produce a film with a big hero. During this period, if the hero wants to take a break and go on a foreign tour along with his wife, the producer has to bear the entire cost of the hero’s foreign jaunt.

Now, producers have got used to bear this additional burden. But there is a particular hero who loves to go on foreign tours frequently on the pretext of vacations.

He flies to picturesque locations abroad at least three to four times a year and whenever he goes, he spends at least a week there.

Nobody would have any objection to this hero going abroad as and when he wanted. But the problem is that he would thrust the entire burden of his foreign tours on the producer in whose film he would be acting at that time.

Right from the first class tickets to hotel expenses and other entertainment charges would have to be borne by the producers.

Apparently, every producer who makes a film with this hero adds at least one to two crore rupees extra to his production cost.

When asked about the same, a producer who had done films with this hero and production executives who worked with him have parried the answer, saying: “No comment please!”

Did Jagan Go to Jail Because of My 3 Marriages? -Pawan Kalyan

Share

“Have you been to jail for 2 years because of my 3 marriages? Is it due to my 3 marriages that you and Viayasai Reddy started suitcase companies and went to jail?” shot back Pawan Kalyan straight as he questioned AP CM Jagan Reddy today at a press meet.

Also, Pawan advised him, “You also get married thrice, who said no to you? Why are you worried about my three marriages? It didn’t work out, so I married like that. You can also do that if you want”, later he added, “When Janasena is criticising your policy, why don’t you respond about policy rather than attacking anyone on the personal thing?”

Pawan indicated that Janasena is not TDP that YSRC folks will talk whatever they like. “Don’t you have any shame YSRC leadership and Jagan Reddy garu? Telugu language taught us culture and respect, don’t you have that? Both Janasena and I are not scared of your factionist behaviour, power and money” articulated Pawan Kalyan.

“Can you imagine how we can talk if we want to attack you personally? You can’t even stand them” Pawan stressed, as he gave warning to all the YSRC MLAs as well.

Pic Talk: Telugu Beauty In ‘Lust Stories’

Share

Even for the Telugu web series that is being produced and directed by Telugu filmmakers, usually, the star cast, especially the heroines, are from faraway lands only. Much to the excitement of native Telugu girls, that mould is now being broken.

After watching Vizag beauty Chandini Chowdhary in Zee’s web series Gods of Dharmapuri, now Warangal beauty Eesha Rebba is getting ready to sizzle in Netflix web series. Like we revealed it already, she will be seen in one of the short films as part of Telugu “Lust Stories”. Her part is directed by Sankalp Reddy of Ghazi fame.

Though the news has come out long back, many still have doubts about whether she is really part of that web series or not. But then, the clarity came easily with the actress posing straight from the shooting spot of this latest project as the shoot began in Hyderabad already.

The four-part Telugu anthology ‘Lust Stories’ is being directed by Nandini Reddy, Sankalp Reddy and Tarun Bhaskar. As Sandeep Reddy Vanga walked out from his part, we have to see who will direct the fourth one.
