Jagan to focus on social media to counter Oppn!

Share

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is said to be unhappy with the way his media managers have not been able to counter the opposition’s attack on the government on various policy decisions.

While the publicity wing of the CMO has been doing its job of disseminating the information to the media with regard to various decisions being taken by the government, there have been regular press conferences by the ministers and YSR Congress spokespersons to counter-attack the opposition criticism.

Yet, Jagan is said to have felt that the government’s version and the party’s version are not reaching the people effectively except in his own media house Sakshi, compared to the statements and comments of opposition leaders which are getting big coverage, due to lack of proper counter-attacking by the government on time.

For example, the media, particularly the national media, gave a big coverage to Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s tweet that the state government had spent around Rs 15.65 crore for sprucing up Jagan’s official residence at Tadepalli, including widening of the road to his house.

However, there was no counter-attack from either the government or the party to Naidu’s criticism. So, only one-sided view was carried in the media.

So, Jagan is learnt to have decided to strengthen the social media and digital media wing of the government, so that there would be a strong mechanism to not only counter the opposition view, but also present the government’s decisions in simple and effective manner.

He is understood to have suggested his media managers to study how the Bharatiya Janata Party and the NDA government at the Centre are running their social media wings which do not lose a single minute to highlight the government’s decisions through Twitter and Facebook instantly.

“The YSRC government can devise its own social media mechanism for the effective communication with the people directly,” he suggested.

Top 5: A Blockbuster First Weekend For AK’s Bala

Share

1) Bala: Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest comedy has hit the ball out of the park in its first weekend. It fell just short of Ayushmann’s highest first weekend grosser Dream Girl.

The film collected Rs. 43.95 Cr nett in its first weekend and is set to cross Rs. 100 Cr nett as the word of mouth is super positive.

Ayushmann continues to impress with his choice of scripts that are not only giving him scope to explore his acting skills but also connecting with the aam janta.

2) Yedu Chepala Katha: ‘Boothu’ filled promos have ensured very good opening for this adult comedy. But the film turned out to be a dud that it couldn’t capitalize on its big opening day numbers.

It still opened on top among this weekend Telugu releases.

3) Khaidi: Karthi’s Khaidi is still holding well at the ticket windows. It has collected very good numbers in Telugu States and has become the biggest hit for Karthi among his dubbed flicks.

4) Thipparaa Meesam: Sri Vishnu’s Thipparaa Meesam failed to get a decent start and couldn’t pick up over the weekend because of poor word of mouth.

It will go down as a flop in spite of selling it for a pretty reasonable price.

5) Meeku Mathrame Cheptha: Vijay Deverakonda’s marketing tricks couldn’t save this lacklustre film from ending up as a failure at the box office.

Where are your five kids studying, Mr Pawan?

Ever since the YSR Congress government led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to introduce English medium in the government schools, the opposition leaders including Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan have been raising a lot of hue and cry.

Even Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu has joined the chorus and indirectly criticised the Jagan government’s move on the English medium schools.

He said the education should be taught to students only in their mother tongue.

On Monday, Jagan Mohan Reddy shot back at his critics on the decision to introduce English medium.

He said 33 per cent of the people in the state were still illiterate as per 2011 census.

Though poor people are interested in sending their children to schools, particularly English medium schools so that they can compete with students of other schools, they were facing a lot of challenges, he said.

Poll: Is it wise to introduce English medium in all government schools in AP?

Stating that his government has introduced English as compulsory as medium of instruction only to make the children compete with others across the world, Jagan wondered why some so-called leaders were opposing his move.

“Chandrababu Naidu, Venkaiah Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and others – everybody criticised me. Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy have been writing stories against my decision every day. They all should question themselves as to whether they are right or not,” he said.

Jagan sought to know which medium Chandrababu Naidu’s son (Lokesh) had studied in his schooling and which medium school his grandson was going to join shortly.

“Mr Venkaiah Naidu, in which medium did you children and grand children study? And Mr Pawan Kalyan, the actor! You have three wives and you might be having four or five children. Tell me, what medium of instruction they are studying in?” he asked.

The chief minister asserted that the people of Andhra had suffered a lot for not studying in English medium.

“That is why, we have taken this decision. Every school will have an English lab from this year and from next year, all the government schools will have only English medium. However, Telugu or Urdu will be a compulsory subject in those schools,” he said.

Deepika falls sick after best friend’s wedding

Share

Actress Deepika Padukone on Monday shared that she has fallen ill after having “too much fun” at her best friend’s wedding.

Deepika along with her husband Ranveer Singh recently attended the wedding of the actress’s friend in Bengaluru. A lot of pictures and videos have been doing the rounds on the internet in which the two can be seen shaking a leg at the dance floor.

And now that wedding is over, the “Piku” actress gave a health update to fans, hinting she is down with fever.

“When you have too much fun at your best friend’s wedding,” Deepika captioned the Instagram story in which she added a thermometer sticker to her face.

On the film front, Deepika will be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s “Chhapaak”, which is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

When Anil didn’t get a job in Narayana college!

Share

Interesting as it might sound, young and dynamic irrigation minister in the cabinet of YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy P Anil Kumar Yadav, who defeated former minister P Narayana in Nellore assembly constituency during the recent elections, had once applied for a job in the college owned by Narayana.

Anil, who had done his BDS, said in a recent interview to a channel, said he was idle after completing his degree in medicine. “My mother used to feel embarrassed to tell the people that her son was sitting idle despite completion of BDS. She was forcing me to take up some job,” he said.

Under pressure from his mother, Anil applied for a lecturer’s job in Narayana Medical College. “But I was denied a job stating that there were no vacancies. I was asked to wait for three months before applying again. I was not interested in the job,” he said.

A few years later, Anil defeated Narayana, the chairman of the group of educational institutions in the elections. “May be, I would have remained there as a lecturer, had I been given the job in the college. But now I have become a minister,” he said.

Anil said he had never imagined that he would come into politics in his life, forget about becoming a minister. “I never wanted to practise as a doctor either. I would have worked in a cool drinks’ shop. But certain incidents led me into politics,” he said.

Fact Check: Jagan Never Opposed English Medium!

Share

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s attack on his detractors who are criticising his decision to introduce English medium compulsorily in all the government schools has kicked up an intense debate.

Soon after his pungent comments against Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, social media is flooded with comments in favour of and against Jagan’s comments and decision.

TDP general secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh questioned why Jagan had opposed the same decision of his father Naidu who had issued orders introducing English medium in all municipal schools.

In order to buttress his argument, Lokesh attached two paper clippings of Sakshi daily, promoted by Jagan, which carried articles strongly opposing Naidu’s decision to introduce English medium.

“Which medium your daughters were studying in, when your own paper was questioning the introduction of English medium in municipal schools?” Lokesh asked.

Ironically, same clippings were attached along with comments by Pawan Kalyan questioning Jagan’s decision. It clearly indicated that Pawan is keenly following Lokesh.

However, enquiries revealed that Jagan had never opposed introduction of English as a medium of instruction in schools by the Naidu government. There was not a single instance of Jagan making any statement against Naidu’s decision in this regard.

Of course, his own daily Sakshi carried stories questioning Naidu’s orders on English medium without preparing the system for the same. As a newspaper, it had every right to question Naidu’s decisions.

But they cannot be attributed to Jagan’s personal opinions. Had he made any open statements against Naidu, it is justified on the part of his rivals to question him now. When he did not make any comments, how can they target him personally?

Pawan Tweets In English Against English!

Share

Ever since YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy made a scathing attack on his detractors for criticising his decision to introduce English medium compulsorily in all the government schools, Jana Sena Party president and actor Pawan Kalyan has been coming out with a series of tweets against Jagan.

Pawan was obviously hurt by the comments of Jagan, referring to the former’s three wives and five children. He was trying to create an impression that he was maintaining a lot of restraint.

But looking by his series of tweets, it appears he was very much frustrated with Jagan’s comments.

He started with cutting and pasting of TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh’s tweets with previous paper clippings of Sakshi which criticised then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s similar move to introduce English medium in schools.

“YCP’s stand regarding medium of teaching when they were in opposition,” said his first tweet with attached clipping of Sakshi borrowed from Lokesh.

“One more article reflecting YCP’s hypocrisy then and now,” said the next tweet with another clipping of Sakshi posted by Lokesh.

He also posted another news clipping mentioning comments of Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, presently AP Official Languages Commission chairman, opposing Naidu’s move in the past.

“We have to learn how to safeguard and promote one’s own mother tongue by looking at Kannadigas, Marathis, Tamils and Hindi speaking Indians,” he said in another tweet.

Interestingly, all tweets of Pawan were in English, while he is opposing English medium for teaching, though he could have tweeted in Telugu as well, if he has so much love for the language.

He also attached the pictures of Telugu books like those of poet Bala Gangadhara Tilak, Suryarayandhra Nighantuvu etc.

May be someone has pointed this out to him. Suddenly, he started tweeting in Telugu as well, reminding Jagan about the establishment of a library at Kadapa by C P Brown, which had 66,000 Telugu books.

“An English gentleman C P Brown could do so much for our own Telugu language and it is sad our own Telugu leaders planning to wipe it out (sic),” he commented.

“It is sad that YCP leader comes from Kadapa and yet ignores Telugu,” he said.

Jagan comments on English medium spark uproar!

Share

YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s strong retort to the opposition parties on their hypocrisy on introduction of English medium in government schools has triggered an uproar in the political circles.

While defending his decision, Jagan, in his usual style, took pot shots at Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan and even Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidy for opposing the English medium in schools.

What led to the uproar was Jagan’s poser on Pawan Kalyan as to what medium his four or five children were studying. In the process, Jagan had referred to Pawan’s three marriages.

“He has three wives and must be having four or five children. Where are they studying, if not in English medium schools?” he asked.

Obviously, Pawan was terribly hurt with Jagan’s comments, what he described as an attack on his personal life. His social media unit reacted immediately through twitter.

“Is it true that your gang of thieves had consumed jail food only because of Pawan Kalyan’s multiple marriages?” it asked.

Though it was also a direct and personal attack on Jagan, the Jana Sena chief sought to create an impression that he was maintaining utmost restraint on the chief minister’s comments.

His party issued a statement, making an appeal to the party cadre not to react to Jagan’s remarks on Pawan Kalyan’s personal life.

“This was obviously to divert the people’s attention from the fight taken up by Pawan Kalyan in support of construction workers. It is indeed very hurting to see the chief minister making personal comments on Pawan, who is only questioning his policies. Yet, let us bear with them for the sake of people’s welfare. Pawan Kalyan will respond to every criticism during his visit to Vijayawada on Tuesday,” the statement said.

Abhinandan’s mannequin in museum: Pakistan stoops to new low

Share

Ever since Indian Air Force Wing Pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was released on March 1 after taking him into custody by PAF, Pakistan has been trolling the Indian hero for various reasons. The most brutal trolls on the teacup and his moustache have made Pakistan drop its sensibility.

After portraying Abhinandan in a witty manner in one of its ad during the world cup, Pakistan is stooping down to much-unprecedented level by coming up with Mr.Varthaman’s mannequin. Yes, a war museum in Pakistan Air Force is seen displaying a mannequin of Indian Air Force Wing Pilot Abhinandan Varthaman. And of course, more than Indians, its Pakistanis, who do not forget the teacup. They have also placed the cup beside him.

A photo of the mannequin was shared by political commentator and Pakistan journalist Anwar Lodhi who captioned his post, “PAF has put mannequin of Abhi Nandhan on display in the museum. This would be a more interesting display if it can arrange a Cup of FANTASTIC tea in his hand.” Putting war ethics at bay, Pakistan has dishonoured Indian pilot once again.

While India is celebrating his valour and bravery, Pakistan, on the other hand, is trying to demean him as brutally as possible. Abhinandan, who was flying the MiG 21 Bison during a counter-attack to the Balakot airstrike in February chased Pakistani F-16 fighters. However, his jet surpassed the Pakistani side and was shot down. Hence was taken into custody by the Pakistan Army upon landing. Before his plane was shot, he had hit a Pakistani F-16.

‘Lokesh is not leader material’

Share

Anil Kumar Yadav, the Andhra Pradesh minister for Irrigation and Water Resources, is one of the firebrand leaders of YSR Congress Party. The 39 year old Nellore MLA is known for launching a serious verbal attack on opponents whenever the party needs him. In a recent interview with a TV news channel, Anil was asked if he ever got a call from Nara Chandrababu Naidu or Telugu Desham to join their party.

“No. Luckily, I didn’t receive any invitation from TDP. I don’t know why, but they (TDP) might have thought that I may not pay attention to their invitation. Also, I believe that they’ll never invite me in future as well.” said Anil. When the minister was asked to share his opinion on Nara Chandrababu Naidu as a politician, he replied ‘I think he is someone who’ll never shy away from seizing any political opportunity. He is capable of projecting a lie for ten times to make people believe that it’s a fact.’ According to Anil Kumar, Nara Lokesh is ‘not a leader material’ like Jagan, who can lead from the front.

Having elected as Nellore City MLA in 2014 and 2019, Anil is one of the loyalists to party and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Why DSP & Thaman Do It In Chennai- Here’s A Version

Share

A couple of weeks ago, it has come out that many star producers are actually worried about working with Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman, because of the exorbitant expenses involved in roping them. As they operate from Chennai, providing 7-star accommodations to them in Hyderabad is costing them a bomb. But then, there is another version as to why Thaman and DSP stay in Chennai only.

The primary reason for these two top music composers to settle in Chennai is that there they could do the best of their work. Because in Hyderabad, there is a huge lack of availability when it comes to individual music players of specific instruments. Say we need 40 violin players and 20 clarinet players, it is very hard to find people here who could read music from the sheets and play it. But in Chennai, there is a pool of talent where musicians are available in abundance. Perhaps that is the reason DSP and Thaman made Chennai their base.

A source working in the music industry says, “In Hyderabad, if a guy learns an instrument like guitar, very soon he will look forward to become a music director. But in Chennai, a guitarist stays a guitarist forever and explores various genres, variations and formates of playing the guitar throughout his life. Such skilful creative musicians are tough to find here in Hyderabad”.

So to get the best people playing their music, both Thaman and DSP are actually staying in Chennai we must say.

Is This Director Back To Nani?

Share

Looks like the non-availability of heroes dates is becoming a worrying factor for some directors, while others are struggling to get the right story such that heroes will give them dates. Struggling in the first category is none other than Siva Nirvana who has scored an impressive hit with his recent outing Majili.

Actually Siva Nirvana is all set to direct Vijay Devarkonda as he prepared a village backdrop story for him. But then, Vijay has got an invitation from Puri Jagan and that changed most of his plans. After wrapping World Famous Lover, the young hero wants to take up delayed-project Hero and Puri’s film. That makes Siva Nirvana to wait for another 7-8 months easily.

Reports are now coming up that actually Siva Nirvana went to Nani with the same story hoping that the film will take off immediately. As Nani has only a month more to shoot for ‘V’ and signed no other project, surely Siva’s film will take off immediately. Looks like that is a win-win situation for both.

In the recent times, even Sukumar moved to Allu Arjun from Mahesh Babu for the same reason as the director doesn’t want to wait after the hero picked up Sarileru Neekevvaru in between, though he was supposed to work on Rangasthalam director’s flick first.

Ramya Krishna And Madhavan Turn ‘Mega’ Parents

Share

Some pairings always create a fascination among the viewers. While the likes of Prakash Raj and Jayasudha are a superhit pair that are ruled out now, directors are bringing veteran heroes and heroines to do the same. Here’s an interesting snippet about one such upcoming pairing.

For the upcoming film of Varun Tej, which revolves around the theme of boxing, we hear that ‘Sivagami’ Ramya Krishna is picked up for the role of mother. But coming to hero’s father role, they say that Madhavan is most likely to give nod for it. Now imagine how the pairing of Ramya and Madhavan looks on the screen.

Definitely it will be one hell of a powerhouse as both the 50-year-old actors are known for delivering some stunners in recent times. Whether Ramya in Baahubali or Madhavan in Breathe web series, they just captivate the viewers with their stunning screen presence. And now that they are going to appear in the strong author-backed role, surely #VT10 is going to get bigger and better.

Recently some rumours are out there that #VT10 is being kept on hold as Varun Tej is considering to take off his project with Surender Reddy first. But it seems like that is being a mere rumour.
