Ammadu Lets Do Kummudu Song Copied By Superstar?

Share

Other day, the trailer of Superstar Akshay Kumar’s latest movie “Housefull 4” is out. For south audiences and for those north audiences who watch an abundant of south films, this trailer sounds very usual. Because the film has its influences and visuals drawn from films like Magadheera, Baahubali, and others.

While all the south fans noticed such visuals, Telugu fans are busy pointing out how come a song of Megastar Chiranjeevi is used in the movie. The film has popular ‘Ammadu Lets Do Kummudu’ (from Chiru’s Khaidi No 150) song coming up in the background score indicating that they might have remixed that song. Though mega fans are busy saying that Akshay Kumar has copied it, it might have not happened that way.

Actually, Devi Sri Prasad is known for giving his tunes to Bollywood if they ask him. Earlier he gave songs like Ringa Ringa in the same way for Salman Khan and now he might have given Ammadu Kummudu song to Akshay. Anyway, its big thing that Telugu songs are also getting remade into Bollywood.

When Sye Raa Around, Why Bunny’s Ala.. Promotions?

The first single of Sankranthi releasing movie Ala Vaikuntapuramlo is out in the market already with Sid Sriram rendering his voice for yet another impressive melody.

This time, music director Thaman has come up with another soul-stirring composition. But the point is, why hungama about this film almost three and half months in advance?

Mega fans are so upset already that Allu Arjun has neither put a tweet about Sye Raa trailer nor he has attended the pre-release event of the movie that is made on a grand scale and has some big guests like Pawan Kalyan and Rajamouli.

Ignoring Sye Raa to the core, it is surprising to see that Allu Arjun has started the promotions of Ala Vaikuntapuramlo as the first single of the film is released.

Not just single, they have shot a special music video on Thaman, Sid and their musicians’ team, and released it today.

At least, the stylish star could have waited for a couple of days and released the song post Sye Raa. But we wonder what is the rush!!

Raj Tarun daringly accepted ‘Dream Girl’

Share

In recent times, one movie that is widely discussed in Telugu film circles is none other than Bollywood movie ‘Dream Girl’ that has Ayushman Khurrana and Nushrat Barucha in the leads. As we are speaking about it, the film is into its third week and still holding strong at the box office even though it collected 115 crores nett already.

As Ayushman played the role of a guy who dresses a girl in stage dramas and later starts speaking in a girl tone as part of his call centre job, everyone got stunned by the film’s theme. Cross-gender look and playing that part easily on the screen is something Telugu hero don’t do on a fuller note, except for couple of comedy scenes.

When producer Suresh Babu acquired the rights of this flick, we hear that he’s bit worried about the leading man, but young hero Raj Tarun is said to have come forward to play the role. The film will be directed by Aneesh Krishna of ‘Ala Ela’ fame who has scored a flop with Raj Tarun through ‘Lover’ movie recently.

This is quite a daring move from Raj Tarun and if the film clicks, surely he will be back on track as a rough patch has hit from some time.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has explored many genres, but says working in mystery thriller “Badla” has been the most rewarding experience for him.

After working on Sujoy Ghosh’s “Badla”, Big B will team up with actor Emraan Hashmi for yet another mystery thriller.

“Working on this mystery thriller has been a most rewarding experience for me. Sujoy Ghosh, the director of the film, needs to be given credit for putting this intricate tale in a most exciting and watchable manner,” Big B said.

“Taapsee Pannu, who has worked with me before, is a most accomplished artist, and it has been a joy to be working with her again. The writing, the screenplay and the camerawork need special mention – they are responsible in giving this film its immense value,” the veteran0 actor said.

“Badla” also stars Amrita Singh, Tony Luke, Manav Kaul and Tanveer Ghani. It is about an interview between a lawyer and a businesswoman, in which the latter insists that she is being wrongfully framed for the murder of her lover. “Badla” will have its World TV Premiere on Zee Cinema on Sunday.

Naidu talk on village volunteers in bad taste!

Share

It is quite common in politics for the opposition parties criticising the ruling party to take political mileage.

But there is always some limit for this criticism. If the leaders cross the limit and make cheap comments, it only shows their declining standard of politics.

The comments made by Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu against village volunteers fall into this category of sub-standard politics.

Citing an example of a report about a village volunteer making sexual overtures to a woman resulting in her suicide, Naidu alleged that security of women was at peril with this village volunteer system.

“Where is the security to womenfolk at home, when village volunteers go to them in the name of delivery of goods? And what are they meant for – distributing gunny bags?” he asked.

This is nothing but insulting unemployed youth who are being provided employment, albeit at a small level, within their villages. And criticising their job as petty is very mean on the part of Naidu.

As a matter of fact, no job is small or petty. Take the case of Dabbawalas of Mumbai, who deliver home food to lakhs of employees carrying the lunch boxes on bicycles.

The delivery mechanism of Dabbawalah is a subject for research scholars in several universities.

So is the case with the delivery of goods and services by E-commerce agents like Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Zomato, Big Basket and other service delivery boys. They too go door to door to deliver services to people.

Can Naidu suspect them, too, to be a threat to security of women? Why should he look down upon only village volunteers, based on some sporadic incidents?

For a man, who claims himself to have encouraged E-commerce across the country, it is below his dignity to make such comments.

Andhra scribes fume at Murthy’s appointment!

Share

The appointment of veteran journalist and former editorial director of Sakshi media group Kondubhatla Ramachandra Murthy as an advisor to Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Public Policy has triggered yet another uproar in the Andhra media.

Already, the scribes in Andhra Pradesh are agitated over the appointment of Telangana journalists like GVD Krishna Mohan and Devulapalli Amar in key positions like communications advisor and national media advisors to the chief minister in the Andhra Pradesh government.

Now, Murthy’s appointment was like adding fuel to the fire, as he hails from Khammam district and was an out-and-out supporter of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, which Jagan had strongly opposed in the past.

Ever since the GO came out on Friday, these scribes have been giving vent to their anger in the social media.

They pointed out that Murthy, who founded HMTV television news channel, conducted a series of debates on the Telangana movement and campaigned for separate Telangana state.

“When he was in Andhra Jyothy and HMTV in the past, he used to denigrate Andhra during the debates and also in his writings. Is it not shameful on his part to accept the post of Advisor (Public Policy) and take lakhs of rupees as salary from Andhra coffers?” a social media post pointed out.

The scribes accused Murthy of pampering Jagan with his writings in Sakshi and begging him for a post in the Andhra government.

“Who are you to give advices to Jagan on public policies with the same tongue which had abused Andhra in the past? Do you think the people will forgive you and forget your diabolic nature? With what face are you joining the Andhra government, which you had abused till recently?” they asked.

Andhra govt to take over all liquor shops from Oct 1

Share

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government will take over all 3,500 liquor shops from October 1, as a first major step towards imposing prohibition in the state.

The government-owned Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Limited (APSBCL) will take over the liquor business from next month, Deputy Chief Minister and Excise Minister Naryanaswamy said on Saturday adding that the state had taken over 475 liquor shops under APSBCL from September 1.

The government had announced earlier this month that the number of liquor outlets will be reduced from 4,380 to 3,500 and will be eventually phased out.

He said the previous government had allowed the functioning of 43,000 belt shops which were closed down after Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took over as the chief minister.

Belt shops are the illegal outlets of the licensed liquor shops.

He said till now, 2,872 cases were registered and 2,928 people were taken into custody for operating belt shops.

Stating that the government will take firm steps to stamp out illicit liquor, he said so far 4,788 cases were registered for brewing of illicit liquor and 2,834 people were arrested.

Jagan Mohan Reddy during his ‘padyatra’ had promised to ban alcohol in the state in phases and keeping his word, the government is taking over the wine shops.

The deputy chief minister said the shops will remain open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Some 3,500 supervisors, 8,033 salesmen have been recruited to run these outlets.

As there is shortage of excise staff, the government proposes to recruit 678 police constables.

He alleged that the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government had treated liquor as a source of revenue. He said every hospital will have a de-addiction centre for those addicted to liquor.

“We have taken this step as women were facing lot of problems due to liquor. Government will give alternate employment to those who are dependent on liquor shops,” he said.

Inside Talk: Surender Reddy Feeling All The Pressure

Share

With the release of the movie just four days away, needless to say, the most tensed man from the camp of Sye Raa is none other than director Surender Reddy. According to insiders, various thoughts are said to be literally building up the pressure on him right now.

More than the story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, delivering a hit film with Megastar Chiranjeevi is the major thing that worries the creative director right now. At the same time, almost 280 crores budget is invested in the movie and the result could sway either side, thereby disturbing the hard efforts he has put for years.

Also, this is the first time Surender Reddy is handling an epic subject unlike Rajamouli who has a tryst with epic creation through Yamadonga and Magadheera, while he has extensive grip on visual effects due to making films like Eega. Any slight mismatch of expectations and inferior quality than the work Rajamouli does will be taking a toll on Surender Reddy.

As the trailers of ‘Sye Raa’ have come out very well, let’s hope that October 2nd will clear all the pressure on Surender Reddy and emerges him victorious.

Pic Talk: Dusky Singer Endeavours At Hotness

Share

Very rarely we see singers succeeding as actors on the silver screen and we have the name of dusky beauty Andrea Jeremiah in the first row if we have to talk about one. She’s both hot for her songs and those appearances in films.

Here comes Andrea again, attending an event other day in Chennai, where her fashionable looks have taken everyone by a surprise. Inside the photoshoot, she’s seen flaunting her charms in designer wear as her sensuous looks and ravishing cleavage did the talking. Flaunting all of her sex appeals, we have to say that Andrea proved that filmmakers are not having a look at her properly.

Despite the fact that Andrea impresses with her curvaceous looks most of the time, somehow she is not a sought after siren for filmmakers. Even though she has done a couple of films like Yuganiki Okkadu and Tadakha, she never got the desired break in south film industries. Hope her new endeavours at hotness will bring her one.

Prabhas Is Back- Is Megastar’s Interview Next??

Share

The most interesting gossip Telugu folks heard in the recent times is about Prabhas coming forward to promote Sye Raa in Bollywood. But later it came out that the hunk hero will be interviewing Megastar Chiranjeevi and that will be circulated everywhere.

All these days, with Prabhas holidaying in Paris, this rumour sounded like a distant possibility. However, other night Prabhas has landed back in Tollywood as he was caught by shutterbugs at Hyderabad airport, posing in his stylish looks. With this, the gossips have once again started doing rounds that he will interview Megastar Chiru soon.

As there is the news that Ram Charan supported Saaho financially, Prabhas might do return the favour by helping Sye Raa in promotions. All said and done, Chiranjeevi is already promoting Sye Raa in Mumbai with Tamanna by her side. And then Farhan Akhtar has come up with another interview where he got both Amitabh Bachhan and Chiranjeevi aboard.

So we have to see if Prabhas also does his mega interview or not.

The Secret Ingredient Behind Sye Raa’s Action Sequences

Share

After looking at the “Battlefield” trailer of Sye Raa, many are awestruck with the way action sequences of the film have turned up. They are slick, edgy, powerful, striking, bloody and kick-ass we have to say. So what made those sequences turn up so interesting?

Many Telugu filmmakers tried to imitate stunts from films like The 300, Gladiator, Game of Thrones series and more, but not achieved the perfection and realistic quality Sye Raa did. So what is that secret ingredient Sye Raa has poured in? For that, we have to say that there are many factors, not just one.

To create such stunts, firstly Sye Raa got the same Hollywood choreographers like Lee Whittaker and Greg Powel to handle the job. They chose the right terrain, right fighters and right equipment to film such work. Most of the fights are extensively canned in Kokapet set and Georgia, where they have master control on what is happening.

Then they got a top-notch visual effects team in place to assist the fights. From wire removals to creating digital body doubles, they have arranged everything to make the actions sequences seamless and merged live-action with 3D work in a realistic manner.

On top of everything, the ability of Ram Charan to pour huge budgets made these first rate action sequences possible and we have to appreciate that. Let’s not forget director Surender Reddy’s contribution as well.

Azharuddin calls on KTR amid talks of joining TRS

Share

Hyderabad: Former Indian captain and newly-elected President of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Mohammad Azharuddin on Saturday called on Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Working President and cabinet minister K. T. Rama Rao amid speculations that he is quitting Congress party to join TRS.

A day after being elected as the HCA President, the former MP and Working President of Congress party’s Telangana union called on Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR.

Azharuddin, however, told reporters later that it was a courtesy call and they did not discuss politics. The former captain said he sought the government’s support for his efforts to promote the game of cricket.

He claimed that Rama Rao assured full support from the government. The minister also told him that the government is giving priority to sports.

He said he would also meet Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and seek his blessings for the efforts to improve the standards of Hyderabad cricket.

“We can achieve the goal only by working together,” he said.

Azharuddin was accompanied by five other office-bearers of HCA, who were elected from his panel in Friday’s elections.

With his election as HCA President, Azharuddin will be beginning a new innings, nearly two decades after he was banned from playing cricket for his alleged involvement in match fixing.

Though Andhra Pradesh High Court lifted the ban on him in 2012, it was too late for him to return to the game as a player.

The 56-year-old had joined Congress party before 2009 elections and was elected to Lok Sabha from Moradabad constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He, however, lost the polls from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan in 2014.

No Direct Fight Between Mahesh and Bunny

Share

Come Sankranthi, there is always a tough competition in Telugu film industry for release of films.

For, the Sankranti sentiment always worked out for film stars, who believe that films released during the festive season will be big hits.

Reason is simple: film-loving Andhra audiences are relatively free enjoying holidays in their villages watching new films.

So, when films of two leading heroes are released on the same day during the season, they will have tough fight to win over the audiences and gross big collections.

Coming Sankranti season, two big-ticket films – Mahesh Babu’s “Sarileru Neekevvaru” and Allu Arjun’s “Ala Vaikunthapuramulo” – are up for release.

This has led to the talk for some time that both these films might be released on the same day, leading to a tough fight the two big stars.

But now, it is confirmed that there is no direct fight between Mahesh and Allu Arjun, as there is going to be a day’s gap between “Sarileru Neekevvaru” and “Ala Vaikunthapuramulo.”

While Mahesh Babu’s fim is going to be released on January 11 which falls on Saturday, Allu Arjun’s “Ala Vaikunthapuramlo” has been slated for release on Sunday, January 12.

It is learnt the producers of two movies have come to an understanding on the release dates, after a lot of arguments and discussions.

“Sarileru Neekevvaru” is being directed by successful director Anil Ravipudi who has just recently delivered blockbuster “F2”. The film’s overseas rights were sold for a whopping Rs 13.5 crore.

“Ala Vaikunthapuramlo”, which has already released its first song on Saturday, is directed by Trivikram. The film’s overseas rights fetched the producers Rs 8.5 crore.
