Share

Vijay Antony, known for his unconventional scripts and intense roles, is gearing up for the release of his 25th film, Badhrakali. Following the success of his sleeper hit Maargan, the multi-faceted actor returns with a hard-hitting political action thriller directed by Arun Prabhu.

Produced by Ramanjaneyulu Javvaji under Sarvanth Ram Creations and presented by Vijay Antony Film Corporation and Meera Vijay Antony, Badhrakali is set to hit the big screens on September 5th.

The striking release poster showcases Vijay Antony seated on the ground, gripping a gun, his eyes fierce with defiance. A blood-red full moon and towering temple structures in the background add a mythic and ominous vibe, teasing the film’s intense narrative.

The film features a strong ensemble cast including Vaagai Chandrasekar, Rini Bot, Riya Jithu, and Master Keshav in pivotal roles. Backed by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, the Telugu version will be distributed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by Asian Suresh Entertainment.

Adding to the excitement, Vijay Antony also scores the music for Badhrakali, while acclaimed cinematographer Shelley Calist handles the visuals.

Pawan Kalyan Dismisses Boycott Calls on Hari Hara Veera Mallu

Share

As Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu gears up for its grand theatrical release tomorrow, political undercurrents are making their presence felt. Supporters of rival political parties, particularly some affiliated with the YSRCP, have begun circulating negative commentary online and even called for a boycott of the film in certain circles.

Unfazed by these developments, Pawan Kalyan addressed the issue head-on during a recent media interaction. When questioned about the growing online negativity and boycott appeals allegedly driven by political motives, the actor-politician responded with characteristic composure and wit.

“Why would anyone boycott the film?” Pawan questioned, dismissing the controversy. “They’re just doing it for the sake of it—there’s no genuine reason behind it. In the past, people went as far as buying tickets in black just to watch a film. No one can really stop a movie from reaching the audience.”

He further remarked, “It would actually be surprising if they didn’t try such tactics,” alluding to a pattern of political vendetta often seeping into the entertainment space.

Despite the noise online, there appears to be little real-world traction for the boycott campaign. Public interest in Hari Hara Veera Mallu remains strong, and early trends suggest that the film’s release will proceed unaffected. Pawan Kalyan, for his part, seems unbothered, choosing instead to focus on the film’s launch and his continuing political engagements.

Share

Celebrating the birthday of one of Tamil cinema’s most beloved stars, the makers of Karuppu treated fans to an electrifying teaser, hot on the heels of the powerful first look poster released yesterday.

The teaser opens with the vibrant sights and sounds of a village carnival, brimming with cultural richness and festive energy. A commanding voiceover evokes spiritual strength and sets a reverent yet intense tone. Suriya makes a thunderous entry, brandishing a weapon, setting off a series of high-impact visuals designed for a full-blown theatrical experience.

Suriya appears in multiple striking avatars, each dripping with screen presence and mass appeal. However, it is his final look — clad in black, exuding effortless charisma — that leaves a lasting impression. Packed with whistle-worthy moments and dialogue tailored for fans and the masses, the teaser successfully builds anticipation for the film.

Directed by RJ Balaji and ambitiously produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabu under Dream Warrior Pictures, Karuppu promises high production value. The teaser showcases stellar cinematography by GK Vishnu and a pulsating, goosebump-inducing score by Sai Abhyankkar.

Trisha Krishnan stars as the female lead in this much-awaited venture, which is gearing up for a grand release. With its compelling visuals and powerful tone, Karuppu positions itself as a potential blockbuster in the making.

Teja Sajja’s Mirai: First Single “Vibe Undi” Drops July 26

Riding high on the success of his recent larger-than-life entertainers, Teja Sajja is back with another ambitious project — Mirai. Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni and bankrolled on a lavish scale by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the banner of People Media Factory, the film has already made waves nationwide with its visually striking teaser.

The makers are now all set to kickstart the musical promotions with the release of the film’s first single, Vibe Undi, slated for launch on July 26. Music for Mirai is composed by Gowra Hari, who previously scored for the blockbuster HanuMan.

The newly unveiled poster for the song showcases sizzling on-screen chemistry between Teja Sajja and leading lady Ritika Nayak. Teja, sporting a stylish look with a beard, glasses, and a trendy hairdo, exudes charm, while his intense gaze and close pose with Ritika hint at a romantic and energetic vibe.

Mirai is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on September 5, in both 2D and 3D formats, promising a high-octane cinematic experience.

Comeback Woes Senior Actresses Face Box Office Setbacks

Share

In the Telugu film industry, it’s not uncommon for senior actresses to take a break following marriage and later return to the silver screen. While such comebacks are often celebrated and eagerly anticipated, not all of them result in success. This year, three popular actresses—Anshu, Laya, and Genelia—made their return to Telugu cinema after extended hiatuses. Unfortunately, each of their comeback projects failed to make a mark at the box office.

Anshu, best remembered for her roles in Manmadhudu and Raghavendra, made her comeback nearly two decades later with Mazaka, starring Sundeep Kishan. Despite the buzz surrounding her return, the film failed to resonate with audiences and ended up as a commercial failure.

Laya, a familiar face from the early 2000s, returned to the big screen with Thammudu, featuring Nithiin in the lead. Though she played a significant role, the film did not meet expectations and was declared a major disappointment upon release.

Genelia, who was once one of the most sought-after actresses in the Telugu film industry, made her much-awaited comeback after a 13-year break with the film Junior. Married to actor Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia’s return generated substantial interest. However, the film received negative reviews for its outdated storyline and weak screenplay, ultimately failing to impress both critics and audiences.

These examples highlight the unpredictable nature of film comebacks, especially in an industry where audience preferences evolve rapidly. While nostalgia can create initial excitement, sustained success depends on strong scripts, engaging storytelling, and the right opportunities.

Pawan Kalyan Shares Update on Mother’s Health Amid Film Promotions

As Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, gears up for its grand worldwide release tomorrow, the actor has been actively participating in promotional activities alongside director Krish Jagarlamudi and co-director AM Jyothi Krishna. The film features Niddhi Agerwal in the lead female role, and expectations are soaring high among fans and cinema enthusiasts.

Amidst the film’s promotions, Pawan Kalyan opened up about a personal matter during a media interaction—his mother Anjana Devi’s health. Earlier, there were speculations in the media regarding her well-being, which were promptly addressed by Pawan’s brother Naga Babu, who reassured the public that she was fine. However, Pawan has now provided a clear update, confirming that his mother is currently undergoing treatment and is on the path to recovery.

Addressing queries about his absence from recent cabinet meetings, the actor-politician explained, “I had to skip one meeting due to my own health issues, and the second time because my mother was admitted to the hospital. We chose not to disclose it earlier due to personal and cultural sentiments. But yes, she is still in the hospital and recovering steadily.”

Anjana Devi, who is in her 70s, is reportedly battling age-related health complications. Despite the challenges on the personal front, Pawan Kalyan has remained committed to his professional and political responsibilities, striking a delicate balance between both spheres.

Pawan Kalyan Explains Delay in Naga Babu’s Cabinet Entry

Share

Earlier this year, it was officially announced that Konidela Naga Babu would be inducted into the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet following his nomination and subsequent election as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC). While he has since secured the MLC post, his cabinet appointment has not yet materialized—prompting speculation and political chatter around the delay.

Addressing the issue during a recent interaction, Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan provided a candid explanation. He clarified that the delay is not due to any indecision from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu or the TDP, but rather due to internal planning within the Janasena Party.

“I wished for Naga Babu to become an MLC, and that goal has been fulfilled. As for his cabinet inclusion, the responsibility lies with me. I need to evaluate the portfolios currently held by Janasena and determine how to appropriately accommodate him. Chandrababu Garu has already extended his support, but the final call is mine. Once the party’s internal hierarchy and responsibilities are clearly aligned, we will proceed,” said Pawan Kalyan.

This statement firmly places the onus of the decision on Janasena’s internal strategy rather than coalition delays. It also reflects Kalyan’s measured approach to party management and governance.

For now, it appears both Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu are in no immediate rush, opting to wait for the right time and structure before taking the next step.

Smart Strategies to Secure a US Visa in 2025

Share

If you’re planning a visit to the United States this year, booking your flight might be the simplest part of the journey. The real challenge lies in securing a US visa appointment—a process often marked by long wait times, sudden cancellations, and shifting embassy protocols. Navigating this system successfully requires strategic planning, persistence, and timely action.

1. Book Your Appointment Early—Even If It’s Far Out
After completing the DS-160 form and paying the visa fee, schedule your visa appointment as soon as possible. Even if the earliest available slot is months away, locking in a date is critical—it opens up options to reschedule, request expedited appointments, or qualify for an interview waiver later. This initial step is key to maintaining flexibility and reducing uncertainty.

2. Consider “Consulate Shopping” to Cut Wait Times
Wait periods can vary drastically between consulates. As of June 2025, the wait time for a B1/B2 (visitor) visa interview is approximately six months in Kolkata, compared to 9.5 months in Mumbai. Applicants who are willing and eligible to travel to a different city may legally schedule their interview at a less congested consulate, potentially reducing wait times significantly.

3. Monitor Cancellations Strategically
Visa slots often reopen due to cancellations. Applicants who check the USTravelDocs portal multiple times a day—particularly around midnight and midday—have a higher chance of snagging an earlier slot. However, proceed with caution: excessive refreshing may trigger a 24-hour account lock.

4. Request an Expedited Appointment If Justified
If you’re facing urgent circumstances—such as a medical emergency, a student intake deadline, a funeral, or a denied ESTA—you may qualify for an expedited appointment. First, book the earliest available slot, then submit an expedited request with proper documentation. Approvals are granted at the discretion of the consulate, so ensure your case is well-supported.

5. Watch for Embassy-Wide Slot Releases
During peak seasons, the US Embassy often releases bulk appointments. For example, in May 2025, thousands of student visa slots were made available ahead of the fall semester. Stay alert for such announcements via the embassy’s official channels, especially if your travel is tied to academic or seasonal timelines.

6. Use Technology—But Wisely
Many applicants rely on browser extensions, Telegram bots, and forums like VisaJourney to track real-time slot openings. While these tools can be helpful, be cautious: unauthorized automation or use of third-party agents may result in account suspensions. Stick to credible, embassy-approved methods of monitoring and scheduling.

7. Be Document-Ready at All Times
In the rush to find an earlier appointment, don’t overlook the essentials. Always keep your DS-160 confirmation, valid passport, fee receipt, and relevant supporting documents (such as university admission letters, medical reports, or employment proofs) organized and up-to-date. Also, keep an eye on policy changes—such as the expected launch of a $1,000 premium processing option for tourist visas later in 2025.

8. Use the Interview Waiver Program (Dropbox) If Eligible
In February 2025, the US State Department expanded its Interview Waiver Program, allowing eligible applicants—including visa renewals within 12 to 48 months, certain H-2 workers, and diplomats—to skip the in-person interview. Instead, applicants can submit their documents via Dropbox, significantly reducing processing time compared to traditional interviews.

Final Tip: Demand for US visas remains consistently high. Early action, informed planning, and vigilance are your best allies in securing a smooth and timely appointment. Whether you’re a student, tourist, or professional, staying ahead of the curve will make all the difference.

India Rises in 2025 Passport Index

Share

India has recorded its most significant improvement to date in the Henley Passport Index, climbing eight positions to reach 77th place in the latest mid-year 2025 update. This marks the highest jump by any country in the last six months, despite India’s visa-free access increasing modestly from 57 to 59 destinations.

The development reflects broader shifts in global mobility patterns, as emerging powers like India, China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE continue to expand their international access, steadily closing the gap with traditional leaders such as the US and UK.

At the top of the index, Singapore retained its first-place ranking with visa-free access to 193 destinations. Japan and South Korea followed with access to 190 destinations each. Meanwhile, seven European Union countries, including France, Germany, and Italy, shared the third spot. The UK dropped to sixth place, while the US fell to 10th, now at risk of falling out of the global top ten for the first time.

Among the most notable long-term improvements, the UAE surged from 42nd to 8th over the past decade—more than any other country. China also advanced significantly, now ranked 60th, after adding a wide range of visa waivers, particularly for Gulf and South American nations.

These changes align with a broader rise in mobility across Asia-Pacific. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), airlines in the region led global air travel growth in the first five months of 2025, posting a 9.5% increase despite slowdowns in other markets. IATA Director General Willie Walsh noted strong forward bookings and consumer confidence heading into the Northern Hemisphere’s summer travel season.

The index underlines a critical shift: passport strength is increasingly influenced by strategic diplomacy, economic engagement, and regional cooperation, rather than historical dominance.

Son of Sardar 2 Trailer Disappoints Ahead of Release

Share

There was a time when Bollywood thrived on slapstick comedies, but over the years, audience preferences have shifted. Yet, some filmmakers continue to bet on the genre. Son of Sardar 2, starring Ajay Devgn, is one such attempt, but it seems to be struggling even before its release.

The film, initially slated for a July 25th release, has now been pushed to August 1st due to the strong box office performance of Saiyaara. To regain some momentum, the makers dropped a second trailer — but the response has been underwhelming.

Many viewers expressed disappointment with the latest trailer, calling it worse than the first. It has been criticized for its outdated and forced humour, silly punchlines, and even for recycling scenes from the earlier trailer, indicating a lack of fresh content. Some sections of the audience are also upset over certain insensitive dialogues, particularly jokes related to Pakistan and Mrunal Thakur’s character, which many found distasteful. Additionally, an attempt to introduce a transgender character has backfired, as the portrayal comes across as tone-deaf and offensive.

With these concerns, fans are skeptical about the film’s prospects, even with the postponed release date. In contrast, Saiyaara continues to dominate the box office, and there’s growing speculation that it might easily out-earn Son of Sardar 2 in just a single day compared to the latter’s week-long earnings
