1000 people already Watched Evaru!
Sesh Adivi’s Crime Thriller ‘Evaru’, which also co-stars Regina Cassandra & Naveen Chandra, will be hitting the screen on August 15, 2019. Already the theatrical trailer created a sensation with close to 7 Million Organic Views and the team is busy with their promotional activities.
The entire unit of ‘Evaru’ seems to be confident about the film and when enquired, we got some interesting information. Producer Prasad V Potluri (PVP) and Sesh Adivi have already arranged a lot of special screenings for ‘Focus Groups’. Well, this might be a new terminology for our Industry, but showing films to ‘Focus Groups’ has become the latest trend.
After the completion of the film, the unit will invite people from various professions (Not Related to Cinema), show them the film and take note of their feedback. This is how ‘Kshanam’ promotional strategy started and both PVP & Sesh have used the same for ‘Evaru’. Sources close to the unit revealed that ‘Evaru’ was screened to close to 1000 people already at different dates and the feedback seems to be positive.
This is the reason why ‘Evaru’ team are brave enough to host a red carpet premier to the media and celebrities on August 14th, which is one day before the theatrical release of the film.
Venkat Ramji has directed this crime entertainer and Pearl V Potluri, Param V Potluri & Kavin Anne are producing ‘Evaru’ under PVP Cinemas banner.

Pic Talk: Chowdary sizzles in red
Most of the time, it is NRI Sophie Choudhary who displays her hotness through her social media pictures. Joining this brigade is Telugu girl Chandini Chowdary who is pursuing studies in the USA right now, but travels back and forth to fill her film career appetite.
Here comes Chandini, cutting a hot look in the red coloured outfit as she puts her cleavage display on the show. This is the first time she slipped into such hotness though she has declined to do glamorous roles when offers have flown her way earlier. With films like Manu, Howrah Bridge and others going for a toss, she is looking for a breakthrough now.
Here Is Why #ShameOnNationalAwards Trends
Telugu fraternity is rejoicing that Tollywood’s very own films fetched 7 national awards other day. But the biggest thing one should look at is, the authenticity of these awards no matter if Telugu films get more awards or not. Especially the Visual Effects community is deeply disappointed with these awards.
First of all, in the National Film Awards, there is no difference between Special Effects and Visual Effects awards. While Special Effects mean something achieved (like bomb blasts, tough lighting etc) with a special set, electrical and other equipment. Visual effects are greenscreen shot footage that goes for a makeover inside the computers. Other day, KGF and Awe movie has bagged a joint award for “Best VFX” category. They denoted it as ‘Best Special Effects’ award.
One wonders, what is there is KGF that deserves visual effects award? Compared to that, Awe movie got nothing in it that is worth grabbing an award. VFX community feels that gross injustice is meted to movies like Shankar’s 2 Point O and Shahrukh’a Zero which have some breathtaking effects. While 2.O has terrific work which is a result of the contribution from 2000+ VFX artists, the dwarf role in Zero (played by Shahrukh) and the space elements are one of the best works done by Indian CGI companies.
As the technical brilliance of these films is not awards and rewards, the has tag #ShameOnNationalAwards is being trended by many VFX specialists across India now. Will someone from national awards jury talk about this?
#BiggBoss03: Punished For Breaking The Rules
In all the seasons, the moment where Bigg Boss gives punishments to inmates for breaking the rules is going to be highly entertaining for the audiences. At the same time, those punishments could be harsh and sometimes physically quite demanding for the contestants.
Other day (Episode 20), Bigg Boss has warned all the contestants for breaking the roles and then gave punishments for the same. The most shocking thing is that Bigg Boss has removed Varun Sandesh as a Captain and asked him to become a servant for everyone. He has to open the door whenever someone is trying to walk through one, and greet them with smiles. Also, he should wash dishes and serve the food to all inmates. And if anyone demands him to do any luxury, he should obey it.
Baba Bhaskar, Sreemukhi, Rahul and Ali got punished for standing with others in the smoking room. They are asked to maintain the water level in a leaking drum by shoving their fingers into the holes where water is gushing out.
Tamanna, Vithika, Ashu, Rohini and Himaja are given the punishment of taking a dip in the pool whenever Bigg Boss warns someone. With Baba Bhaskar getting warned for speaking in Tamil, this group took their first dip in the pool, in the cool water.
Ram Charan Is Backstabbed Twice So Far
To put the point straight, first at Nandi awards and now at National Awards, it looks like things are not working in favour of Mega hero Ram Charan no matter how hard he works to make his onscreen performances work. Mega fans are quite disappointed that their favourite hero is not getting recognised by governments for reasons unknown.
During the times of Magadheera in 2010, actually, Ram Charan is expected to win the Nandi Award for his performance in the role of Harsha and Kaalabhairava in that Rajamouli directorial. His varied looks, intense presentation and flawless body language made the role score 100 out of 100 marks. But then, Nandi Awards Jury felt that Dasari Narayana Rao in Mesthri movie has done a better performance than Ram Charan and gave the award to him.
Now in 2019, the National Film Awards Jury feels that Ram Charan is nowhere reach to the performances delivered by Ayushman Khurrana (Andhadhun) and Vicky Kaushal (Uri). Definitely, Charan’s act in this Sukumar directorial is better than what Vicky did in Uri. Maybe the Best Actor award should have been shared between Charan and Ayushman. Shocking thing is that Charan is not given a consolation at least, like a Special Jury mention. But why?
Some feel that the political links of Chiranjeevi with Congress party and his enemies in political circles and lobbying kingdoms are responsible for snubbing his son from awards. The fans aptly put it, ‘Charan is backstabbed twice so far, and they may do it always’.
Sarileru Neekevvaru – Marchaleru Veellanevvaru
Other day the first ever intro teaser of Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru got released on the eve of the Superstar’s birthday. One thing that came to the mind of cinema lovers after watching this teaser is that both Mahesh and Devi Sri Prasad don’t change at all.
In the wake of playing a Military Major on the silver screen, cinema lovers these days are expecting a change in Mahesh’s body language. But like all the time, he boasts the same hairstyle and similar body language which never resonates with the real-life Majors of the Indian Army. Why is Mahesh so fond of his hairstyle that for any role he boasts the same?
Coming to Devi Sri Prasad, the once hot favourite for scoring thumping background scores is these days coming up with the same score all over again. And for Sarileru Neekevvaru teaser as well, the background score sounds quite similar to his recent movies. At a time when the competition is threatening from the likes of Anirudh and other youngsters, why is DSP not even thinking about it?
That makes anyone say this: “Both Mahesh and DSP won’t change at all, no matter what the content of a film is”. Simply said, ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru.. Marchaleru Veellanevvaru’

iSmart Buyer Bags Valmiki’s Nizam Rights For A Fancy Price
Harish Shankar’s upcoming Crime Drama Valmiki is hot in the trade. Varun Tej’s good track record and Harish Shankar’s capabilities as director are the reasons for the craze around Valmiki, a remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda.
Varun Tej is essaying a negative character in Valmiki and his getup has been one of the biggest selling points of the film.
Valmiki is releasing on Sep 13, which means it will have direct clash with Nani’s Gang Leader. Despite the clash, Valmiki is fetching good deals in the trade.
Nizam distribution rights of Valmiki were sold to Srinivasa Rao for an attractive price tag. It fetched Rs. 7.3 Cr, which is a very good offer for a Varun Tej starrer.
Srinivasa Rao recently released iSmart Shankar in Nizam and made superb profits on it. Now he has bet big on Valmiki that is produced by 14 Reels Plus.
J&K issue to hit TRS prospects in civic polls?
The latest euphoria prevailing across the country over abolition of Article 370 that gave autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir is said to be causing tremors in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi camp.
According to analysts, the prospects of the TRS in the municipal elections are likely to take a beating, as the Jammu and Kashmir developments have not only enhanced the image of the Bharatiya Janata Party, but also created a negative impact for the TRS among the Muslim minorities.
The TRS leaders are of the view that the party’s stand to support the Centre on Triple Talaq bill and Article 370 has widened the gap between the party and the minorities.
The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) is also upset with the stand taken by TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on these two bills and might have second thoughts in forging alliance with the TRS in municipal elections.
Secondly, the J&K development has brought a lot of cheers to the BJP, which has already gained huge ground in the Telangana by winning four MP seats.
The party will definitely cash in on the Modi image in the municipal elections, where the electorate is mostly educated and pro-Modi.
Added to this the growing disenchantment among the urban educated towards the TRS government also may prove negative to the ruling party, analysts said.
So, the initial hurry shown by the TRS leadership is not there right now and it might go slow with the election process.
A section of the TRS leaders believe that the changed political scenario could be used by the saffron party to cause a dent in the TRS prospects.
They fear that if polls are held now, they may have to face embarrassment as it happened during the Lok Sabha elections.
PR wing in Jagan government chaotic!
It has been more than two months since YSR Congress party led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power in Andhra Pradesh.
But the publicity wing of Jagan’s administration is yet to understand the importance of media management.
Most of the persons who got into the public relations team of the CMO are from Sakshi media house and they are not able to raise up to the requirements of the media.
They seem to be taking the media, local as well as national, for granted and are of the view that media has no option but to give publicity to Jagan, because he is the chief minister. So, when there are any negative reports in the media, they are not able to digest.
For example, Jagan has conducted Diplomatic Outreach Programme at Vijayawada on Friday.
The PR team of the CMO thought the local media would anyway cover it and give huge publicity to Jagan.
At the same time, the team has failed to send proper invitations to all the national media to such an important event and confined the invitations to a few select financial journalists.
As a result, Jagan’s meeting did not find much takers in the national media. Even the financial journalists could not get much access to the information with regard to Jagan’s one-on-one meetings with diplomats.
Another classic example for the negligence of Jagan’s PR team was about his meeting with a delegation of Tamil Nadu ministers who came to him to request release of water to Chennai to meet the drinking water requirements.
A small press note was issued which has no details whatsoever including from where water is being released and how much quantity.
Nobody in the PR team was able to explain this, as they were more interested in highlighting Jagan’s magnanimity in releasing water to Chennai, rather than the other details.
That is poor PR!
Keerthy 4th Telugu actress to win National Award
The Telugu film industry reaped a rich haul of honours at the 66th National Film Awards announced on Friday with actress Keerthy Suresh bagging the best actress national award for her role as yesteryear Telugu star Savitri in the biopic ‘Mahanati’.
The last time the best actress award came to Tollywood was in 1990 when Vijayashanti got it for Karthavyam, directed by Mr A. Mohan Gandhi
Keerthy is the fourth actress from Tollywood to bag the national Best Actress award after Sarada (for Nimajjanam, 1978), Archana (Daasi, 1988) and Vijayashanti.
Mahanati also won for Best Costume Designer, for Indrakshi Pattanaik, Gaurang Shah and Archana Rao
H-1B Visa Denials at All-time High
Denial of work visas to employees of India’s largest IT services exporters has risen to an all-time high, according to data sourced from a US-based research foundation.
The country’s big four software services exporters — Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL Technologies and Wipro — have seen around half of their work visa applications rejected in the past year as the Donald Trump administration pushed for more employment and higher wages for American workers.
The visa denial rate for TCS has gone up from 6% in FY15 to 37% during the first quarter of FY19 (October-December 2018), according to a report by the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP). NFAP sourced data from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that follows a October-September financial year.
The denial percentage for Infosys has gone up to a whopping 57% in the first quarter of FY19 from 2% in FY15 while the number for HCL has increased to 43% from 2% in FY15.
Spike in Number of RFEs
In the case of Wipro, it has shot up to 62% from 7% in FY15, data from NFAP showed.
“The numbers have shot through the roof,” said Shivendra Singh, vice president of the global trade department at industry body Nasscom. The high (denial) rates and request for evidence (RFE) are impacting the ability of Indian companies to service clients in the key US market besides making it more expensive, he added.
TCS, Wipro, Infosys and HCL Tech declined comment on the issue.
Nasscom’s Singh said the industry grouping has been arguing strongly for the US to streamline the process so that “(Indian) IT companies continue to make the US economy more competitive by working with more than 75% of Fortune 500 companies, majority being American”. “We are getting highly impacted by this since the numbers have never ever been this high. If the denial rate or RFEs are more, it increases the paperwork and there is more burden and more cost for companies,” he said.
New data released by USCIS also shows a spike in RFEs and visa denials. The petitions approved with RFEs for the first three quarters of fiscal 2019 was at 62.7% with an initial denial rate of 16.1%, a result of President Trump’s Buy American, Hire American executive order. In fiscal 2015, approval with RFEs was as high as 83.2%.
Rajiv S Khanna, managing attorney at law firm Immigration.com, said, “Rate of denials have gone up across the board in all legal immigration cases, especially (relating to) H-1B visas. The government has created an environment where the responses for the RFEs have increased from 30-50 pages to 600-1,000 pages for an H-1B case. It has increased its own burden of processing cases and that’s why cases are taking much longer to process than they used to.”
In April this year, Infosys said the rising attrition in its ranks was partially due to the sharp decline in H-1B visa approvals and said it had to come up with a “new value proposition” to help retain employees. Infosys’ attrition had climbed to over 18% on a standalone annualised basis at the end of March 2019, compared with 16.6% in the same period last year. Chief operating officer UB Pravin Rao said the company was seeing higher employee losses in the three-five year experience bracket in India and the two-three year experience bracket in the US for whom “the value proposition in the past has been on-site opportunities”.
The Trump administration’s executive order which seeks to create more employment and higher wages for American workers has resulted in increased scrutiny on non-immigrant visa applications and a far higher rate of denial, industry experts said. Even the percentage of L-1 applications approved after an RFE has dropped from 53% in 2015 to 50.7% in 2019. The L-1 is an intracompany transfer visa.

Decent Opening But Poor Reports For Manmadhudu
Nagarjuna starrer Manmadhudu 2 opened to poor reports everywhere. The film has been getting the thumbs down from fans and filmgoers.
Rahul Ravindran failed to repeat the magic of Manmadhudu and the adult content in the latest film is turning out to be its biggest problem.
However, the film has taken a decent opening at the box office. It has collected around Rs. 4 Crore share worlwide on its day 1. It will need to hold well and make the most of the long weekend.
Anasuya’s Kathanam has gone unnoticed due to poor promotions and Kurukshetram also has failed to impress.
It is a great opportunity for last week’s release Rakshasudu to earn breakeven status.
New releases failing to impress will makes it job easy in the second weekend as it has generated positive word of mouth.
Sampoornesh Babu’s spoof comedy Kobbari Matta released today.

100 cows dead in Vijayawada gaushala
Vijayawada: Over 100 cows died of poisoning in a gaushala on the outskirts of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred late on Friday night after the cows were given their feed at the cow shed run by non-governmental organisation Kothuru Tadepalli.
While 98 cows died hours later, the remaining are battling for life, police said.
Sahu, a cow shed committee member, said the cows started collapsing a couple of hours after they were given the feed.
Officials suspect food poisoning as the cause of the death. Police summoned veterinary doctors to conduct an autopsy on the dead cows.
Differences between the cow shed management is believed to have led to the incident as one group suspects that the feed was poisoned.
Krishna District Collector Mohammed Imtiaz visited the gaushala and ordered a probe. He said the death of a large number of cows was unfortunate.
The cow shed had more than 1,000 cows, most rescued from slaughter houses. Some cows were donated by people.
Police said they were questioning the employees who fed the animals and were also checking CCTV footage to find out if any outsider entered the cow shed before the incident.
As many as 24 cows had died at the cow shed run by the same committee near Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada two years ago. The cows were fed with stale wheat flour that resulted in their falling sick and ultimately their death. After the incident, the committee shifted the cow shed to the city outskirts.
Jagan angry with MP for threatening Kia staff?
At a time when YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying hard to overcome the negative campaign against him in the industrial sector by holding diplomats’ meets and investments summits, his party leaders seem to be causing a lot of damage to his image.
The alleged unruly behaviour of inspector-turned-YSRC MP from Hindupur Gorantla Madhav at the launch of Seltos car of Kia Motors at Penukonda in Anantapur district on Thursday is understood to have terribly upset the chief minister.
Jagan reportedly sought an explanation from Madhav for throwing tantrums at the Kia Motors management at the car launch event. He also asked the MP to meet him personally in Amaravati to give an explanation.
Already, there was a negative talk against Jagan for skipping the Kia cars launch event for his own reasons. Now, with the YSRC leader’s rude behaviour further damaged his image.
Madhav shouted at the Kia Motors officials for not inviting him on to the dais.
Pointing his finger at the Kia company official, the MP said: “How dare you ignore me at the event? I will complain to the chief minister. I will see that you bow your head in front of Jagan Mohan Reddy. You seem to be thinking that you are still working under Chandrababu Naidu rule. Wake up.”
He also attacked Kia management not recruiting the local people from Anantapur in big numbers.
“I don’t see many faces from Anantapur. You have to give jobs to locals,” he shouted.
Apparently, the MP didn’t know that the recent act of providing 75% reservation to locals was not there when the Kia motors began their operations in Andhra Pradesh.
Expressing his anguish, Madhav scribbled on the bonnet of the car with a white marker pen: “Car roll out but our young people ruled out here ..sorry,” he wrote and signed on the bonnet of the new car at the ceremony.
