Bounces Back With A Blockbuster, But No Takers!
Puri Jagannadh has this habit of bouncing back when everybody writes off him. He has delivered his biggest hits when his chips are down.
Blockbuster success of iSmart Shankar has put him back in the reckoning, but apparently no big star is keen on working with him at this point.
Although iSmart has proved that Puri’s formula can still set the cash registers ringing, most of the industry people are seeing it as one of the fluke hits of recent times. No wonder Puri is yet to find lead actor for his next film.
He is one director who always keeps himself busy, but Puri hasn’t got any call from any of the trending heroes of Tollywood post iSmart success.
Puri is reportedly contemplating a movie with Balakrishna, who liked his work despite the failure of Paisa Vasool.
He also has Vijay Deverakonda in his mind, but the Dear Comrade actor is too busy with other assignments.
Puri also wants to do a sequel to iSmart Shankar, but he is yet develop the idea into a script.
Rs 10,000 for a load of sand! Babu slams YCP
Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu is in shell-shock with the sand rates going up in Andhra Pradesh. Rs 10,000 is being charged for a tractor load of sand and he questioned what is the government doing. Chandrababu went on to criticise YSRCP government for not taking any initiative in coming up with new policy.
“If certain changes are needed to be made in the system, the government should have a proper planning, methods to implement it and possibilities in addressing the loopholes. Then they can go for abolishing old policy or make amendments. YSRCP government has bluntly rubbed off the old sand policy and is yet to come up with new one,” said Naidu. He further questioned did YSRCP estimated the consequences?
“Lakhs of people who are dependent on construction field, are now with no work. The dream to built a house is further going far for common man. Rs 10,000 is being quoted for one tractor load of sand. Why such huge amount? Is it to fill the pockets of YSRCP leaders,” quipped Naidu.
Construction works in Kurnool are jobless for the last two months and are finding it hard to cope-up with the day-to-day expenses. They are in distress and appealed to the government to come up with a new sand policy at the earliest, so that the constructions would resume across the district.
Revanth Reddy To Fight For Mojo TV Employees?
With the Mojo TV channel being shut, the livelihood of employees is at stake. The new management has asked the staff to take one-month extra salary and tender resignations.
This prompted several employees to launch a protest against the new management’s diktat. In the process, they tried to seek the help of the journalist associations. However, the associations’ heads are unable to keep their foot in due to the channel owner’s alleged close ties with CM KCR.
In a desperate bid, the protesting employees have now found a ray of hope in KCR’s arch-rival and TPCC Working President Revanth Reddy. The Malkajgiri MP has been at loggerheads with the said industrialist and KCR since a long time.
Even the TV channels that are managed by the industrialist had given extensive coverage when Revanth’s house was raided by IT sleuths during the general elections.
Revanth taking up the issue and fighting for the Mojo TV employees will definitely give a political twist to the whole episode. We can surely expect Revanth to dig out all the unknown details and deals of Mojo TV’s acquisition. Whether he will be successful eventually or not remains to be seen.
Media Catches Amit Shah’s ‘Top Secret’
The PM Modi led BJP government has strategically abolished the ‘Article 35A and Article 370’ pertaining to Jammu & Kashmir. Post the cabinet meeting, union Home Minister Amit Shah directly reached the Parliament and as he got down of his car, the media surrounded him. Shah was carrying couple of papers with him in his hands and he just greeted the media and walked inside of the Parliament.
But the papers that were in Amit Shah’s hand have exposed the complete sketch of BJP on the Kashmir issue. On top of the papers, it is printed ‘Top Secret’ followed by the action plan that needs to be implemented. The action plan is divided into three categories i.e, Constitutional, Political and Law & Order. Shah implemented the constitutional process as per what is printed on the ‘Top Secret’ papers and the rest will follow today and tomorrow. As part of BJP’s sketch, PM Modi will address the nation on J&K tomorrow at 5 PM. Before that Modi will talk to NDA MPs and after his speech, he will speak to J&K Governor, CMs of various states in the country.
In the Law & Order category, the centre is expected to send the Principal Secretary of Home Ministry to J&K to take a look at the stock of armed forces. The centre will also inform states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, West Bengal, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh to make adequate security measures to make sure the normalcy is not disturbed.
Overall, BJP did scrap off privileges of J&K with proper background work and so far succeeded in implementing it without any hurdles.
‘I’m Always Be With TDP & Babu garu’
Last week there came rumours about young TDP leader Devineni Avinash that he is in thoughts to quit Telugu Desam and join BJP. But Avinash did not respond on these unclaimed reports until Tuesday morning. He took to his official Twitter handle and clarified that he would remain in TDP and by the side of Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
So that puts the rumours to rest but Devineni Avinash did not disclose from where these rumours came from. He unsuccessfully contested from Gudivada in the last elections. As the previous polls were Avinash’s first elections, he is now focusing on building the cadre in the constituency. He is actively participating in the party activities these days and getting in touch with the cadre.
Post the elections, it’s the TDP that suffered the most. Many leaders are leaving the party and joining BJP as they are reluctant to join YSRCP. BJP is also doing ‘Operation Akarsh’ in Andhra Pradesh in all sorts and pulling leaders to build its strength.
Second Warning: Centre To Jagan on PPAs row
Nearly 50 companies have knocked the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the YSRCP government’s decision to revise the PPAs signed in TDP’s regime. Despite this, CM YS Jagan is not comprising and is insisting for a revision of all power agreements.
As the court is taking its own time it verifying the facts and giving its verdict, the electricity providers have approached the Centre over this yet again. In response to the companies fresh complaint, the union government has written to the AP government and clarified that all the wind and solar projects should be in running status as per the Electricity Act 2003. The centre has also warned that if these companies incur losses, then the state government is liable of repayment.
In fact this is the second letter the Centre has written to the YSRCP government. In July first week, Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, RK Singh had written to CM YS Jagan, asking him to reconsider his decision of reviewing the PPAs. The Minister Singh further added that if the state government finds out clear-cut wrongdoing in the PPAs then it has the authority to cancel them. But if no such things are verified, the government should not revise them.
What will Jagan do next based on this letter from the centre is a million Dollar question. Nevertheless, he appears to be adamant which is going to hurt the state’s exchequer badly unless an immediate decision is not taken.
Rana’s Brother Abhiram Is Back On Track?
Though there are plans to launch Suresh Babu’s younger son Abhiram Daggubati as a hero long back, somehow they didn’t work. Later some pictures shared by Sri Reddy on the social media did more damage to the Daggubati youngster and he has shifted to handling production related works of films like Oh Baby.
Reports are now coming that the Daggubati dad is once again moving the pawns to launch his younger son as a hero. Impressed with Manmadhdu 2 rushes, which Suresh Babu is said to have watched recently, he asked the director Rahul to make a script that could introduce his younger son Abhiram as a hero.
Though the talks are at a very preliminary stage, Suresh Babu is said to be looking for some edgy scripts like Andhadhun or Badaai Ho to launch his son, and he wants the young director to come up with such stories. In the first place, Abhiram is said to be getting groomed in Mumbai and New York in acting skills.
While elder brother Rana Daggubati is already an actor, we have to see if Abhiram could prove his mettle or not.
Rumour: He Grabbed Role By Helping Producer!
Other day, there is this PR news everywhere that this comedian, who has suddenly become a star producer only to crash a couple of films later, is getting paid a whopping sum to star in the film of a big superstar. The news sounded quite eggy because of the fact that he is neither a star comedian nor someone who deserves such pay to star in a film. But why is he there?
A little dig into the scene revealed that actually, this comedian helped one of the producers of that film big time, and hence this role. As that producer is in neck-deep troubles and unable to fetch huge sums to finance his latest movie, this comedian is said to have helped pool the bucks through his contacts. For that help, the producer convinced the director and hero to bestow this comedian with a role in the movie, says a source.
Well, at a time when none is ready to offer him roles for the kind of comments he made previously, this producer took a chance with it. There is no wrong in this, but actually, the comedian trying to get more attention for his bit-role than the ones playing crucial roles is what creates a headache for all. Because the PR machinery of the film is also surprised by the comedian’s publicity.

From being a participant in 90s popular show Dance Baby Dance to becoming a show host on TV, she has got huge fanbase among Telugu people of the old cable TV era. Her name is Jahnavi.
Later this lady appeared as a side-kick in films like Gopichand’s Yagnam where she rocked the Muslim girl role but went missing from the mainstream. She has fallen in love with cinematographer Rasool Ellore who is almost 15 years elder to her and the couple got married later, after which she exited from TV and films.
But now, she is re-entering films as a fashion designer with Adivi Sesh’s Evaru, where she has designed outfits fro the leading actors. We hear that she has handled the outfits of Sesh and Regina for certain scenes. Though Jahnavi has earlier tried to make a comeback as an actress, somehow it didn’t work.

Ram and Genelia had acted in Sreenu Vaitla’s blockbuster comedy entertainer ‘Ready’ in 2008. Since then, they remained good friends. In fact, Ram fondly calls her Genu. On the other hand, Riteish, while posting a picture of Ram and Genelia on his Instagram, said, “Ready 2 already”.
Prabhas’ Wedding: Sister Pragathi Turns Central Point
As the release of Saaho is around the corner, once again media started discussing Prabhas’ wedding, which we already revealed. This time Bollywood’s top media houses have started discussing Prabhas’ wedding and the way they are mentioning about his sister Pragathi Uppalapati in this connection, is something a surprise for Telugu audiences.
