Mainstream media ignoring Pawan Kalyan!

Share

Once a popular hero in Tollywood, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan has hardly been getting any coverage in the mainstream media, though he has started activating his party in the recent past, after going into silent mode following his party’s miserable show in the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections.

Sakshi, the mouth piece of YSR Congress party, has been giving zero coverage to Pawan Kalyan or his party.

While the daily has not been publishing even a small bit about Pawan either in main pages or in district supplements, Sakshi channel or even the web edition has completely blacked out the Jana Sena Party and its boss.

Even the letter written by Pawan Kalyan to YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy requesting that the government relax norms for supply of sand to resume construction activities in the state has not found a place in Sakshi media.

Even the pro-Telugu Desam Party media houses like Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu, which used to give considerable coverage to Pawan Kalyan before the elections, have stared ignoring him after the elections.

However, unlike Sakshi, these yellow media are not completely blacking out Pawan, but are giving insignificant coverage in the inside pages.

While the television channel owned by Jana Sena party leader 99TV has no great viewership, no other media house is giving any coverage to him.

That is precisely, Pawan wants to bring out his own forthnightly magazine to highlight his speeches and party programmes!

Vijay Deverakonda Messed It Up Big Time!

Share

Dear Comrade is the third film from Vijay Deverakonda after he has taken the box office by storm with Geetha Govindam.

And none of these films were able to set the box office on fire like Geetha Govindam or Arjun Reddy. NOTA

Vijay picked NOTA hoping that it would be the right follow up film for Arjun Reddy, but it turned out to be a damp squib.

Taxiwala that was supposed to come after Pelli Chupulu only made it to theaters post Geetha Govindam. Thanks to Vijay’s rising stardom, the low budget film made good profits but it turned out to be a pointless film for Vijay at that stage.

Dear Comrade was on sets by the time Geetha Govindam released. Mythri Movie Makers reassessed the market value of Dear Comrade according to Vijay’s current market and hiked the budget.

Vijay made sure to have all the elements that would appeal to youth and reinstate his rebel image, but such things didn’t fit in Dear Comrade, which eventually got turned down by all sections of audience.

Instead of signing up movies that build on his Geetha Govindam’s image, Vijay picked films that restricted him from going to the next league.

It’s high time to make wise choices to utilize his youth following and do movies that also caters to family audience.

Real Estate: 1.74 lakh homes stalled across major cities

Share

New Delhi: Supreme Court’s recent landmark verdict on the Amrapali case has brought the limelight back to the the Indian realty sector and lakhs of home buyers as numbers of incomplete and stalled housing projects continue to be on the rise creating “ghost cities” by the day.

The magnitude of the country’s real estate sector’s dark reality can be gauged from the fact that around 1.74 lakh homes in 220 projects across the top seven cities in the country are completely stalled, as per the data from Anarock Property Consultants.

“Launched either in 2013 or before, these projects have absolutely no construction activity going on. The overall value of all stalled units is estimated to be more than Rs 1,774 billion (Rs 1.77 lakh crore). Most of these projects have been grounded due to either liquidity issues or litigations,” the Anarock report said.

Around 1.15 lakh homes, which accounts for nearly 66 per cent of the total stalled units have already been sold to buyers who have been left in the lurch, at the mercy of either the concerned developers or the law of the land. The net estimated value of these sold units is around Rs 1.11 lakh crore.

As per the data, the National Capital Region (NCR) has the largest pile-up of stalled units with 1.18 lakh homes spread over 67 projects with an overall value of Rs 82.2 thousand crore. Of this, nearly 69 per cent or 83,470 units are already sold out.

Further, around 98 per cent of the stuck projects in NCR are located in Noida and Greater Noida alone, while other cities like Gurugram, Ghaziabad have minimal inventory.

The other major market of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) ranked second in terms of stalled projects with 38,060 units stalled across the city. The stalled units are spread across 89 projects, compared to 67 in NCR, the data showed.

Pune comes next with nearly 28 stalled projects comprising 9,650 units, followed by Hyderabad with nearly 4,150 units. Bengaluru has 26 projects comprising 3,870 stuck units.

The housing distress, although spread across the country, is mostly felt and witnessed in the NCR, with Noida and Greater Noida in the lead. The cases such as Jaypee Infratech, Amrapali Group and Unitech have been under the glare, with all them being dragged to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has cancelled Amrapali’s RERA licence, and ordered investigation on its key officials, and has asked the state-run construction major NBCC to take over its projects. NBCC has also submitted its proposal to work as consultant for the completion of Unitech’s projects.

Jaypee Infratech, on the other hand, is going through the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) and has surpassed the 270 day deadline of achieving a resolution. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) this week extended its resolution process by another 90 days.

These legal issues have also hit the already-distressed homebuyers. Sanjeev Sahani, who bought a 2-BHK flat at one of Jaypee’s projects in Noida in 2011 still for the completion of his home and says that the total legal cost born by home buyers to get their rightful home has reached around Rs 2 crore by now.

Sahani, who is also a member of a home buyer’s association told IANS: “The tower in which I bought the flat is not even 50 per cent built. Even if a third party takes it up, it would take another three years to complete.”

Now Mahesh Is Upset With His Co-Director!

Share

Looks like it is bad season for co-directors on the sets of big superstars. Recently, Allu Arjun firing on his co-director made it to the headlines of film columns.

Now we came to know about another incident where Mahesh Babu was upset with the co-director of Sarileru Neekevvaru.

There was news about Mahesh Babu asking to supply mineral water to everybody on the sets during Kashmir schedule. However, buzz has it that the news was reported in Mahesh’s favor by his PR team.

If the buzz has to be believed, direction department complained to co-director about the drinking water supplied on sets.

They were unhappy with the quality of water supplied and the co-director directly took it to Mahesh’s notice and the superstar told him to talk to the production unit.

Mahesh was reportedly upset with the co-director bringing such trivial matter to his notice and asked Anil Ravipudi to replace him. But replacing co-director will upset all the scheduled plans and therefore Anil pacified him and said that he would see that it won’t repeat again.

The PR team of Mahesh sensed that this would be leaked to the media and they cooked up a story that would show the superstar as a generous person.

Tamil Scenes Directly Mixed in Rakshasudu?

Share

Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Anupama starrer “Rakshasudu” is hitting the screens tomorrow. The film is an official remake of Tamil thriller “Ratsasan”.

However, industry buzz is that director Ramesh Varma has used the majority of Tamil movie sequences as is in Telugu without shooting them again.

There are many episodes in the Tamil film where there was no presence of hero or heroine.

The movie is about a serial killer and those scenes were filmed in a riveting way in the Tamil movie. So, Ramesh Varma reportedly used them as they were in the Telugu version as well.

One of the reasons why this remake was wrapped up in just four months.

Bellamkonda Srinivas is heavily banking on this thriller as this is a concept-oriented movie. He hopes to get his first hit.

While the reactions to Nagarjuna’s anchoring is mixed, the “Bigg Boss” show has clicked again as per the latest TV ratings.

Nagarjuna’s maiden episode of the season 3 of “Bigg Boss” has created a whopping record. Of all the three seasons, Nagarjuna’s first episode was watched by more number of audiences.

This season’s first episode has registered highest ever rating for the show’s launch. It got 17.92 TVR points.

The craze around the show has made people glued to the television screens. This has helped Star Maa gaining huge points overall.

It has to be seen how this show would attract the audiences in the coming weeks. NTR as the first host of the reality show made it very popular.

NTR with his high energetic anchoring brought more ratings to the show later than the launch episode. However, Nani has failed to match to NTR’s standards.

Now people will compare Nagarjuna with NTR in the coming weeks.

Rs 22.52 lakh for Jagan’s security in Israel?

Share

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with his family members, left for Israel on Thursday, as part of his thanksgiving to Jesus Christ at Bethlehem for bestowing him with victory in the recent assembly elections in the state.

He would spend four days in Israel, visit several holy places there, besides meeting the local Israeli officials. He would return to Hyderabad in the early hours of August 5.

According to party sources, Jagan’s Israel visit is purely personal visit and all the expenses for his tour would be borne by his family.

However, hours before Jagan’s departure to Israel, the YSRC government issued a government order (GO Rt no. 1737 dated July 31), according sanction of Rs 22,52,500 towards providing security arrangements to him during his four-day visit to that country.

According to the GO, the amount would be credited to the account of Triple S Tours and Travels, for making security arrangements for Jagan and his family during the tour. Apparently, the agency submitted an invoice for US $ 30,591 for the purpose.

Interestingly, the amount of Rs 22.52 lakh would be routed through Airtravel Enterprises India Ltd, a Hyderabad-based travel agency, which is looking after the travel and other arrangements for Jagan and his family.

The GO does not mention what kind of security arrangements would be in place for Jagan in Israel and why it had to hire a private travel agency to provide security to him.

Since Jagan has the diplomatic passport, it would be enough to inform the local police about his visit for security arrangements, a political observer commented.

One also wonders why the money is being routed through a Hyderabad-based travel agency to another private agency in Israel.

“Both are travel agencies and not private security agencies. So, there is something fishy in these payments,” the observer said.

Truth Behind Bollywood Stars’ Viral Drug Party Video

Share

For the last couple of nights, a viral video in which several top Bollywood stars were seen in an allegedly ‘drugged state’ at Karan Johar’s house party has been the center of controversies. The video, shot by Karan himself, showcases stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora and Vicky Kaushal (he was seen clearing his nose, with a power like substance lying next to him) in an ‘inebriated’ and ‘stoned’ condition.

The video turned out to be a huge controversy when Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Majinder Sirsa tweeted it with the caption ‘Udta Bollywood’. However, netizens were divided on the video’s claims that the stars abused drugs at Karan’s party. Many said that the stars were only ‘drunk’ and that they were not high on drugs.

Finally, Mumbai Congress leader and businessman Milind Deora blasted Majinder for making baseless allegations and demanded an apology from the SAD MLA for tarnishing the reputation of the actors. Milind said that even his wife was present in the video and clarified that nobody took drugs at the party as being alleged.

Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, directors Zoya Akhtar and Ayan Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan were among the celebrities who were seen in the video.

Why nobody should question Pawan?

Share

A true leader should be more democratic, listen to views of the people around him, especially his well-wishers and accommodate their views, if he finds them positive, while formulating his political action plan.If the leader takes unilateral decisions and tries to thrust them on his followers, he will only be autocratic and he can never succeed.

“Listen to everyone, take your own decision” is the quality of a leader.

Even the big national parties like the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party or for that matter the Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress party follow this formula. While the Congress party has a working committee, the BJP has an advisory council.

Similarly, the TDP and YSRC have their own politburos and political advisory committees to take crucial decisions, though they are headed by strong leaders. This simple logic seems to be missing in the thinking of Jana Sena Party headed by Pawan Kalyan.

It was evident from the advice given by his elder brother and party leader Naga Babu to the party workers at a meeting in Rajahmundry the other day.Naga Babu told the party workers not to question Pawan Kalyan on anything.“Don’t give him any suggestions or advices to do like this or that. Even I don’t give him any such advices. I only ask him what I should do in the party and do not question his decisions,” he said.

He further said a true political worker should not question the party president’s decisions.“Because, Pawan is a visionary and he knows much more than any of us on what to do and what not. You may not like a decision taken by him, but only Pawan knows the long-term implications of the decision. So, don’t question Pawan,” he said.

The election results have clearly shown how Pawan had faltered in taking right decisions. Had he taken right advices from seniors at right time, he could have got a few more MLA seats, if not come to power.
“Now, he should be held responsible for his own decisions. At least in future, Pawan should learn to listen to the people, before formulating his own strategies,” an analyst observed.

Jagan to meet Modi to strengthen ties!

Share

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah on August 6.

The meetings assume significance in the wake of strained relations between the BJP and the YSRC in the recent past, as was evident from the aggressive attacks being made by the BJP leaders on Jagan and his government of late.

According to party sources, Jagan, who will be going to Israel on Thursday along with his family, would return to Vijayawada on August 4. Soon after his return, he would leave for New Delhi on a two-day tour on August 6 and 7.

“He will meet the Prime Minister on August 6 and discuss all the pending issues and the problems that are faced by the state, besides seeking liberal financial assistance to the state,” party sources said.

Jagan will also meet Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Home Minister Amit Shah during his two-day tour.He is also contemplating meeting President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu during the visit.

It is likely that Jagan would make efforts to bridge the widening gap between the two parties. Though YSRC might not join the NDA, it will definitely not adopt a confrontational approach towards the BJP, sources said.

Who Will Direct Mahesh For His Next Film?

Share

Mahesh Babu has accepted a film offer from Mythri Movie Makers and the production house said that his movie will go on floors in 2020.But the director for the project hasn’t been confirmed yet. The actor listened to scripts from Geetha Govindam fame Parasuram Petla and Maharshi director, Vamshi Paidipally wants to make another one with the actor.

There is an outside chance that Sandeep Reddy Vanga or Naga Ashwin could get a call up from Mahesh Babu. Naga Ashwin made Mahanati before and the director has a big story that he is working on from past few months, it seems.Parasuram tried his best to come up with a script that Mahesh will accept outright but that hasn’t been the case. Vamshi is trying to come up with a script by February to confirm his film.

Sandeep announced a crime thriller and he can find any producer he wants as he could deliver a 270 crores grosser in Hindi too. Naga Ashwin could bring something new to the table but Ashwini Dutt might ask for a stake in the production.

There could be a curveball altogether with SS Rajamouli finally making his film with Mahesh too. Well, as off now, only Sarileru Neekevvaru is next Mahesh film and rest all are speculations as actor did not commit to any director after small clash with Sukumar, except Anil Ravipudi who is directing him, as we speak.
