It’s A Baby Girl For Telugu Heroine

Share

Telugu beauty and popular Bollywood heroine Sameera Reddy turned a proud mom for the second time as she gave birth to a baby girl at a private hospital in Mumbai. The actress took to her Instagram and shared the happy news with her fans along with a touching photograph of her little angel.

Sameera got married to Mumbai-based businessman Akshai Varde in 2014. The couple already has a son named Hans Varde, born in 2015. Sameera gave up acting post her marriage and she has been leading a happy married life ever since. For the last couple of months, Sameera has been creating a lot of buzz with some stunning photoshoots, proudly showing off her baby bump.

Sameera is well known to Telugu audiences for her movies such as Chiranjeevi’s Jai Chiranjeeva and NTR’s Ashok and Narasimhudu. She was last seen in the Sai Andri Nanu song alongside Venkatesh and Rana in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum in 2014.

Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari Is Further Delayed

Share

When Megastar Chiranjeevi took to media to appreciate Mahanati movie and its director Nag Ashwin, producer Ashwini Dutt confirmed that they have narrated a Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari sequel like a film to the megastar. So what happened to that project?

Though Nag Ashwin and his team have readied a couple of stories for Chiranjeevi with all the grandeur and scale suiting Megastar’s image and Ashwini Dutt’s spending habit, somehow Chiranjeevi is unable to adjust dates for this project immediately. Due to that reason, the Mahanati director might look at some other project and some other hero.

Apparently, Chiranjeevi is busy with Sye Raa all these days and soon he will join the shoot of Koratala Siva’s movie. Later, the megastar is most likely to pick Trivikram’s project, which will be produced by Konidela Productions only. And to wrap these two films, he might need time until the fag end of 2020. That means Nag Ashwin has to wait till 2021 for Chiru’s availability if he wants to make any sequel like a film to JVAK.

After debuting with Yevade Subramanyam in 2015, Nag Ashwin took three years to come up with Mahanati, and we have to see how long he will wait for his next.

Dorasani Movie Review

Share

Set in Telangana during the period of feudalism, Dorasani is a love story of a young and innocent couple who face the wrath of the system. Vijay Deverakonda’s brother Anand and Rajasekhar’s younger daughter Shivathmika made debut with this film directed by Mahendra.

What is it about?

Raju (Anand) is the son of a painter. He falls in love with the daughter of Dora in the first sight. She is called Chinna Dorasani (Shivathmika) by the villagers. She too falls in love with Raju, but they find it hard to talk to each other let alone meeting. They keep it a secret for few days, but her father sees them and the consequences follow.

Performances:

Anand Deverakonda suits the character although he looks very average. His voice and modulation is quite identical to his brother Vijay Deverakonda. His performance is just okay. Shivathmika lets her eyes do the talking and she also suited the character of Dorasani. She can perform too. Most of the story revolves around the lead pair and other actors that played Dora, Naxal leader and Dorasani’s maid are good in their respective roles.

Technicalities:

KVR Mahendra’s story has an interesting setting, but that doesn’t make this routine love story engaging. The slow moving screenplay make this predictable story a tedious watch. The poetic style of narrating and shot making is impressive though. He handled the final portions of the film like an experienced director.

Music is the asset of Dorasani. Songs are mellifluous and impresses in the first listening itself. Cinematography is beautiful and gives the film an authentic period look. Dialogues and costume designing is flawless. Producers have dared to make an off-beat love story sans any commercial elements.

Thumbs Up:

Shivathmika

Songs

Climax

Thumbs Down:

Regular story

Disengaging and slow screenplay

Lack of entertainment

Analysis:

Dorasani is a film set in the eighties period somewhere around thirty years ago. It was the time when Telangana was under feudal system. Love blossoms between a young couple who doesn’t care much about their social differences. First half entirely focuses on how this couple expresses their feelings to each other as they couldn’t even talk to each other. All they can do is see each other at nights through a window. This seems fine okay at the beginning but soon turns tedious as the story doesn’t move forward at all.

The intermission comes at a predictable point and things turn tough for the couple as their romance is no longer a secret. The boy is arrested by the cops and the girl is sent somewhere. There is also the naxal movement that runs as a parallel theme. We expect that part to play a vital role in the story, but it just used as a tool to create drama in few scenes. The ending is shot well, but it becomes predictable as there is too much build up to it. Apparently, the director trusted the climax to come as a shocker to the audience. But nothing about Dorasani offers novelty including its climax as we had seen numerous films with similar themes.

Only saving grace for Dorasani is its music and visuals. Performance by Shivathmika also is impressive. The love story is passé and largely boring. After a point, Dorasani becomes pointless as it brings nothing new to the table. The second half has scope to engage the viewers by building tension, but it is done in a half baked fashion. Even the climax that should have been gut wrenching turns out emotionless and mediocre. Dorasani is a film that cannot please any age group because of its lethargic and uninteresting ways of dealing with a familiar subject.

Verdict: Outdated!

Vijay Deverakonda’s NOTA Director Gets Married

Share

Vijay Deverakonda’s NOTA director Anand Shankar has got hitched. He has tied the knot with his longtime girl friend Divyanka Jeevanantham. The wedding was strictly a private affair in the presence of the couple’s family members, relatives and close friends.

Anand and Divyanka were engaged in November 2018 at Dubai in a private affair. The duo has finally got married on 11th July, 2019 at a closed ceremony. It was a traditional wedding.

Anand had earlier worked as an assistant director under AR Murugadoss. He has made his directorial debut with Arima Nambi starring Vikram Prabhu and Priya Anand. The original was a super hit.

However, this was later remade in Telugu as Dynamite by Vishnu Manchu and the film was helmed by Deva Katta. It was a debacle in Telugu. Anand’s second film was with Vikram i.e Iru Mugan (dubbed into Telugu as Inkokkadu). Iru Mugan was a success in Tamil where as the film failed in Telugu.

Suresh Babu Not Happy With ‘Oh Baby’ Because..

Share

Here and then, we are hearing that ace producer Suresh Babu who has bankrolled Oh Baby is not happy with the film’s output. Though this Samantha starrer went on to become a super hit at the box office, the producer has his own share of upsets to share.

Reportedly Suresh is said to be unhappy with the film’s music, as many critics also pointed out, better songs and background score would have helped the movie a lot. The film’s music was composed by Mickey J Meyer who has recently impressed with films like A..Aa and Mahanati. An interesting thing is that Mickey composed everything while staying in London and the USA, and hasn’t even met Suresh Babu in person while doing the work.

Also, he is said to have not given any tune much in advance but only before two days of the shoot, which irked Suresh further. Though the producer is against this composer, we hear that Samantha and Nandini Reddy backed him up, and hence Mickey continued. Anyway, hope Suresh takes care of his films’ music next time and also this is a learning point for Samantha too.

Love u Amma. #mamasboy #forever” posted Charan, sharing his picture with mom Surekha. It’s more like a now and then pictures, as Charan mixed two pictures, one when he’s young and another a present one. That’s too adorable we have to say.

Elated by his arrival, family members and celebs like Upasana, Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Samantha, Kiara Advani, and others have welcomed him big time into the arena.

Will Puri Give Break To This Heroine?

Share

Imported from Kannada, Nabha Natesh is doing quite a noise in Tollywood these days. All thanks to her film with Puri Jagannadh. Given that Puri had brought several heroines, actresses, in the past and gave them the much-needed break, now the question is whether Nabha will join the bandwagon. As there is a dearth for heroines in Telugu right now, Nabha comes in handy with her flawless Telugu.

The other day she stunned everyone with her fluency in Telugu. Her Telugu speech at iSmart Shankar Bonalu event was a surprise for many as the video said to have trended at No. 2 on YouTube. Nabha is now very serious about her Telugu career and this forced her to learn the language by her second film itself.

As she pinned high hopes on iSmart Shankar where she revved up the glam quotient, she has already signed Ravi Teja’s Disco Raja. It can be noted that Puri had given break to the likes of Anushka Shetty, Asin, Renu Desai, Rakshita, Ayesha Takia, Hansika Motwani, Adah Sharma who are all launched in Telugu through his films, one has to be seen whether he gives break to Nabha or not.

Triangular Fight With Saaho: Hero Is Not Overconfident

Share

Prabhas Saaho is hitting cinemas on August 15th across in India in various languages and till today it looked like a cakewalk for him at Bollywood box office. But the arrival of two films, Akshay’s Mission Mangal and John Abraham’s Batla House are going to make tough for everyone.

With T-Series producing Saaho, surely there will not be any big competition for theatres or any other promotions for this Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer. And if there is anyone who has to lose a bit, definitely it is not Akshay Kumar who is going to suffer but John Abraham they say. As lots of Akshay’s patriotic films always clicked, John has to do his math properly regarding this fight.

Talking about the same, John Abraham clarified, “I’m not overconfident but we have no issue of theatres or anything. I’m not even thinking about other films in race, but I think only about my movies. It came out well and we will rock on August 15th” he said.

As both Akshay and Prabhas are unavailable for a comment on this, John’s words are going viral at the moment.

Buzz: Black Money Producer Back With A Bang

Share

Earlier there were many rumours surrounding this producer, saying that he’s the one who brings black money from outside and converts into white through the production of films. No matter how many films of him flopped, he keeps on producing movies, and that’s where doubts are occurring.

Then after the death of a particular don, he has gone silent, without even producing a single film for a couple of years. But he made his comeback recently, thanks to his proximity with a star who has a politicial background. Whether the star knows about this guy’s background is not sure to anyone, he made use of that connect to work things.

And now, he made a couple of films that didn’t work at the box office, but he’s busy with three more films, of which one happens to be a biggie. Telugu industry is right now worried as to where he’s getting the investments from, as it is tough to believe that he is taking loans to produce these flop movies.

Mass Audiences Loving This Glamour Treat

Share

Whether that is a press meet at Guntur, or meeting students in a college or catching up with a media house for interviews, the one thing that is noticeable about Ismart Shankar is the glamour quotient being poured by the film’s heroines.

Slowly, the buzz around Nidhi Aggerwal and Nabha Natesh picked up and many mass audiences are now eagerly waiting to see these beauties on the silver screen. Thanks to their naughty looks at the promotional events of Ram Pothineni starrer Ismart Shankar. Both the hotties succeed in getting the attention from all quarters, while song teasers of the film are full of their glamour dosage.

Though films are not running these days merely on the basis of glamour, the high octane energy of Ram could keep mass audiences glued to seats, while this ravishing hot look of heroines might tickle them further. As Ismart Shankar is hitting cinemas on July 18th, we have to see what happens.

Friday Talk: Who Eats Well? Who Gets Eaten?

Share

This Friday, when there are films like Oh Baby, Agent Athreya and Brochevarevaru ra running at the box office, three other films are testing their luck. They are none other than Sandeep Kishan’s Ninu Veedani Needanu Nenu, Sivathmika and Anand Deverakonda’s Dorasaani and Srihari’s son Meghamsh’s Rajdooth.

Naturally, if we look at these films, the thing that occurs to our mind is, who among them will eat revenue at the box office, who gets eaten by other movies in the race. There will be a huge demand for Sandeep’s film first because it happens to be a horror comedy and they are the go-to films for many audiences. If the second half is engaging and funny, the film clicks big time.

And then comes the love story Dorasaani, which is riding high on the hopes that rich-poor love with vintage backdrop might work wonders. Such films work only if the hero and heroine sweep the audiences off their feet. And youngster Meghamsh’s Rajdooth hasn’t got a response on social media, but the promotions are quite strong that word of mouth might help it after the first show.

One thing is clear- the one that got huge hit talk will do quite well while the one that gets average talk will be eaten away by others.

Alerted By Trolls, Nag Wants Manmadhudu To Be Clean

Share

Manmadhudu 2 is being trolled for its plot and the bold dialogues that were shown in the promos.Although those elements were the reason for the heightened expectations on the film, Nagarjuna has reportedly asked director Rahul Ravindran to remove all the ‘adult’ stuff make it a clean film.

Films with bold content are taking the box office by storm, but also turning out to be ‘controversial’.
Take for instance Kabir Singh that has become the most debated film of the year and Nagarjuna doesn’t want his film to take the centre stage for wrong reasons.

Nagarjuna has always maintained a clean image in his career spanning over thirty years and he wants it stay that way. When his daughter-in-law Samantha is making clean movies like Oh Baby, the veteran superstar isn’t willing to make movies that make family audiences cringe.

Rahul Ravindran is reportedly removing all the bold dialogue and stuff from Manmadhudu 2 on Nagarjuna’s orders.Wonder how Manmadhudu 2 turns out if it gets rid of all those elements that appeal to contemporary audience.

Congress imploding after LS polls?

Share

New Delhi: The debacle in the Lok Sabha polls appears to be leading to an implosion in the 134-year-old Congress, with the legislators and leaders dumping the grand old party in states amid chaos in its top leadership.

Since last month, the Congress saw its MLAs quitting in hordes in Telangana, Karnataka and Goa. The biggest setback came in Karnataka, where the party is on the verge of losing its government.

In Karnataka, 13 of the Congress 79 MLAs have tendered their resignation since July 6, putting the party’s 13-month-old coalition government with JD(S) in a crisis situation.

The party had formed government in a post-poll alliance with 37-member JD(S) in May last year after the Assembly polls threw up a hung House. In the 225-member Assembly, including a nominated member, the Congress and JD(S), along with the support of lone members of BSP and regional party KPJP and an Independent, mustered 118 MLAs, five more than the required simple majority.

This prevented the BJP, with 105 MLAs, from forming the government.

However, the Congress got a rude shock after its MLAs started resigning since last Saturday. Along with its 13 legislators, 3 of the JD(S) have also quit. The MLA of KPJP and the Independent have also withdrawn their support.

Even as the Congress was grappling with the Karnataka crisis, its 10 MLAs, led by Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Chandrakant Kavlekar, quit the party on Wednesday.

The 10 Congress MLAs soon after joined the BJP, raising the ruling party’s tally to 27 in the Assembly.

This left the Congress with only 5 MLAs in the 40-member Goa Assembly, where it had emerged as the single largest party after the 2017 polls with 17 seats. Two legislators had left the party earlier.

Commenting on the exodus in the Congress, its MLA and former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat told IANS on Thursday, “If the Opposition leader himself quits the party and joins the BJP, what can I say?”

The shockers for the Congress in Karnataka and Goa came just about a month after 12 out of its 18 MLAs dumped the party in Telangana to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).

The party also faced embarrassment in Maharashtra, where its Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil quit last month.

There are suggestions that the Congress could face a similar situation in Madhya Pradesh too because of simmering infighting among various camps, which got aggravated after the Lok Sabha polls.

The unrest in the Congress was fuelled after the debacle in the Lok Sabha elections in which the party managed to get only 52 seats in the 545-member House.

The stunned party’s woes increased with its President Rahul Gandhi tendering his resignation from the post immediately after the poll results came on May 23, creating a sort of vacuum in the leadership and uncertainty among the cadres.

Some Congress leaders in private say that they are not aware who is running the show in the party now, since Rahul Gandhi has refused to reconsider his resignation and recently made public that he was no more the President.

Veteran party leader Karan Singh, however, went public recently, saying he was “aghast to see the confusion and disorientation” in which the Congress has fallen since Rahul Gandhi resigned on May 25.

In a statement, he said instead of putting an alternate structure in place after Rahul quit, “a month was wasted pleading” with him to take back his resignation, which :as a man of honour and integrity, he should not have been pressured to do.”

After the poll debacle, Roshan Baig, a former Karnataka minister who was one of the senior Congress leaders to resign recently, had attacked some senior party leaders like K.C. Venugopal and Siddaramaiah for the poor performance.

He had said that it was because of them that the Congress won only one seat in the recent Lok Sabha elections out of 28 seats in Karnataka, despite bagging 79 out of 225 seats in the Assembly elections held last year.

The BJP swept the Lok Sabha polls, bagging 25 seats.
