New ‘Sardar Patel’ Shah both hailed, taunted on Twitter
New Delhi: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared the decks for BJP President Amit Shah to become the new Home Minister of the country, messages warning stone pelters in Kashmir, terrorists, Maoists and the so-called “Tukde Tukde Gang” flooded Twitter, while others dubbed it a poor choice.
“Stone pelters in Kashmir, Bangladeshis pack your Bag. India has got new Sardar Patel as Home Minister @AmitShah,” tweeted Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, spokesperson, BJP Delhi.
“Amit Shah is the new Home Minister! Beware all ‘Tukde Tukde Gang’, terrorists, Maoists and their supporters! Your dad is here… #HomeMinistry,” wrote another Twitter user.
Memes mocking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other opposition leaders also started doing the rounds on the social media.
While one person wondered if Kejriwal fell ill hearing the news of Shah becoming the Home Minister, someone else made a meme of fugitive Indian Islamic preacher Zakir Naik saying: “I love India. India is best…”
“Meet the new Home Minister of India. IB will directly report to him. AB HOGA NYAY,” wrote one Twitter user.
“Mota Bhai is the new Home Minister of India. All those pseudo-liberals who wanted to leave India, now is the time,” said another user.
“Amit Shah broke the back of terrorism in Gujarat as Home Minister. As union Home Minister, he’ll take anti-corruption cases against Vadra, National Herald, Chidambarams & others to a quicker conclusion apart from handling Naxal & Pak terrorism, J&K & keeping an eye on the party,” wrote journalist Minhaz Merchant.
Shah’s new job also drew criticism. “Amit Shah is Home Minister. What a time to be alive,” lamented columnist Mitali Saran.
“A few years ago, a bunch of tapes came out in public domain in which a man could be heard instructing Gujarat Police to stalk a woman. That man is now going to be a Union Minister of India. #NewIndia,” Alt News Co-founder Pratik Sinha tweeted.
“That man is now the Home Minister of India. Achhe Din ahead for women safety and privacy,” said Dalit rights activists Jignesh Mevani.
Called the “Chanakya” of modern day Indian politics, Shah became Modi a loyalist as both were associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since their early days.
During his tenure as a minister in Gujarat, Shah held several portfolios including transport, police, housing, border security, civil defense, gram rakshak dal, Home Guards, prison, prohibition, excise, law and justice, parliamentary affairs and the coveted Home Ministry.

New Andhra CM goes for major shake-up in administration
Amaravati: A day after taking oath as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has gone for a major shake-up in the administration, shunting out the police chief and four Secretaries in the Chief Minister’s Office.
As expected, Jagan Reddy carried out the rejig in the top echelons of the police department, replacing Director General of Police (DGP) R.P. Thakur with Damodar Goutam Sawang.
Thakur, who was considered close to Jagan’s predecessor N. Chandrababu Naidu, was posted as Commissioner, Printing & Stationery and Stores Purchase, considered a loop posting.
Chief Secretary L.V. Subrahmanyam late Thursday issued orders appointing Sawang as the head of police force.
Sawang, who is Director, Vigilance & Enforcement Department, was given full additional charge as the new DGP. He is eventually expected to take regular charge as the state police chief.
Hours after his appointment, Sawang met Jagan Reddy at the latter’s office and discussed the law and order situation in the state.
Jagan Reddy is understood to have given him necessary instructions on reshuffle in the police administration.
In another major reshuffle, the new government transferred A.B. Venkateswara Rao, Director General, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He was directed to report to the General Administration Department for further posting.
Kumar Vishwajeet, Additional Director General, Intelligence, was given full additional charge as Director General, ACB, until further orders.
Venkateswara Rao was Additional Director General, Intelligence, when the Election Commission shunted him out in April following a complaint by Jagan’s YSR Congress Party that he was supporting the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
The new government also shunted out four IAS officials from the Chief Minister’s Office.
They are Satish Chandra, Special Chief Secretary to CM, G. Sai Prasad, Principal Secretary to CM, M. Girija Shankar and Adusimilli V. Rajamouli, both Secretaries to CM. They were directed to report to General Administration for further postings.
Solomon Arokia Raj, Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, was posted as Secretary to the Chief Minister. Shamsher Singh Rawat, Principal Secretary to Government, Social Welfare, was transferred and posted as Principal, Finance Secretary.
P. Krishna Mohan Reddy, Special Grade Deputy Collector (Retd), was appointed as Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister.
All the orders were issued by Chief Secretary Subrahmanyam, who is likely to continue on the top post.
He was appointed as Chief Secretary by the Election Commission after shunting out A.C. Punetha on charges of allegedly defying the poll panel’s order on transfer of some officials.
Srilakshmi To Get Plum Post In AP?
Senior IAS officer Y Srilakshmi, who had been facing a CBI inquiry in the sensational Obulapuram mining scandal since 2011, is most likely to get a prominent post in Andhra Pradesh government headed by YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Srilakshmi, a 1988 batch IAS officer allotted to Telangana cadre, met Jagan at the latter’s Tadepalli residence on Friday.
She requested him to take up with the Telangana government to relieve her, so that she could serve her native state of Andhra Pradesh.
She had already moved an application with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government stating that she would like to work with the Jagan government in AP.
She had opted for the Telagnana cadre during the bifurcation, as she did not want to work under Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu, who she feels was responsible for her implication in the case.
Now that Naidu was defeated, she wants to come to AP on deputation to work in her native state at least for another five years.
Apparently, Jagan received Srilakshmi well and showed a lot of sympathy for her. He promised to get Srilakshmi on the board and give her a prime posting.
In all probability, she might get the special chief secretary rank post in a key department, sources said.
Srilakshmi was charged by the CBI with flouting norms in granting mining leases to Obulapuram Mining Corporation owned by mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy when Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was Chief Minister.
She had been arrested on November 28, 2011 and had spent nearly one year in Chanchalguda Jail where she fell sick. She came out on bail in October 2012.
In 2016, the Telangana government revoked her suspension, gave orders allotting her to Telangana cadre and a posting.
She rejoined the duty after five years and had been appointed secretary, public enterprises.

Meet The Poorest MP In The Modi’s Cabinet

Yesterday in the swearing-in ceremony, Pratap Chandra Sarangi received an outstanding response from the dignitaries present at the venue. But who is this Pratap Chandra Sarangi and why people at the swearing ceremony gave him a standing ovation.
Pratap is the poorest among the entire cabinet and is well known for his outmost simplicity. In fact during the election campaign, he hired auto-rickshaws because of his financial status to seek votes from people. Narendra Modi knows about Pratap and so he campaigned extensively for the Odisha leader and finally the result was a positive outcome.
Pratap Chandra Sarangi is an MP from Balasore constituency of Odisha. The 64-year-old first time Parliamentarian is hailed as “Odisha’s Modi” as he is quite famous for his oratory skills. Pratap won against crorepati candidates BJD MP Rabindra Kumar Jena and Odisha Congress’ Navajyoti Patnaik in this election with a majority of 13,000 votes.
In the social media, Pratap is getting popular for his down-to-earth nature and people are hailing for Modi too for inducting Pratap in the cabinet.
Irrespective of politics, country needs such honest leaders whose work talks more than anything else.

‘Ruler’ Balayya To Romance Two Youngsters

With the kick given by his win at Hindupur constituency as a MLA at a time when YS Jagan wave has swept Andhra Pradesh, we hear that Nandamuri Balakrishna is quite ecstatic. That said, he is getting ready to join the latest schedule of his ongoing film very soon.
Directed by KS Ravikumar, Balayya is coming up with a cop drama yet again. Reports have that the film is titled “Ruler”. While the title sounds like a Boyapati-sh word, looks like the makers want to cash on the Nandamuri star’s mass image. And the big news is that the 60-nearing star is all set to romance two young heroines.
Though there is a remuneration issue with Payal Rajput, producer C Kalyan is said to have dealt the issue quite carefully and retained her for the film. And then, they have roped in Mehreen Pirzada as another heroine for the movie, a source revealed.
Will the audience accept Balayay romancing Mehreen and Payal is something that worries some film lovers, but his fans might enjoy it. Let’s see.
Shocking Cost For Jagan’s Swearing-In Ceremony
If you are wondering how much did the newly elected CM of Andhra spent on his oath taking ceremony, the cost for such a grand event may take you by surprise. The swearing-in ceremony of AP new Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, that happened on Thursday afternoon, costed a little less than Rs 50 lakh for state government.
The event that took place in Vijayawada saw CM of Telangana, KCR and DMK chief Stalin as chief guests. With a view to not spend huge money on this ceremony, Jagan is said to have opted for a stadium (Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada).
The cost incurred on arrangements of swearing in ceremony related to stage, invitation cards, food, furniture and other items is Rs 48.5 lakhs. The state government has issued Rs 29.10 lakhs in advance for the same, according to Srikant Nagulapalli, Secretary to Government (Political), General Administration Department. The advance amount was released to take care of Governor’s two-way travel, accommodation, dining facilities for chief guests and AC bills.
#SyeRaa: Anushka To Wield Sword As Well
The role of Baahubali diva Anushka Shetty in upcoming magnum opus #SyeRaa is taking interesting turns each day when it comes to speculations. While the actress hasn’t confirmed anything about this role on social media, reports are coming that she got a very challenging one.
Like we said earlier, her role deals with narrating the story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy to some other people. One may ask, how will Anushka know about the whole story in such depth. To address that logic, director Surender Reddy is said to be showing Anushka in a warrior role. She wields sword and fights alongside Uyyalawada as they face the British forces on the battleground.
Currently, Anushka went to the USA to shoot for “Silence” and we hear that she has already wrapped her part on #SyeRaa. There were also some reports earlier that Anushka will also feature in a special song alongside Chiranjeevi, but that doesn’t seem true if we have to go by inside reports.
Set for October 2nd release, Sye Raa is aiming a record release in the whole of India and create many records.
‘Jr NTR Is The Only Saviour Of TDP’

After YSRCP’s massive victory, Ram Gopal Varma was on a tweeting spree, posting humiliating tweets on Chandrababu Naidu and TDP. He also posted many hideous memes leading to controversies in his comment section. Now, once again, after Jagan’s swearing-in ceremony, RGV posted new tweets that targetted TDP and Janasena.
Making a mockery of other parties has become his regular forte’. Yesterday, a new tweet of his has now become a sensation. He gave unsolicited advice/ suggestion to Jr NTR on saving the TDP.
He tweeted – “If Tarak takes over TDP, all people will immediately forget TDP’s disastrous failure..NTR’s grandson can be the only saviour and if he has any respect for his grandfather he should immoderately save TDP Jai NTR Jai TARAK. Hey @tarak9999 if u have any respect for ur grandfather, u should save the TDP party NTR founded from the man who backstabbed him then and his son who’s front stabbing it now ..Jai NTR I request u @tarak9999 just as an NTR fan, not to join the backstabber of ur grandfather, like the way ur Babai did ..What ur babai did is a bigger vennupotu than what the alludu did”.
Many believe that Jr NTR can only save TDP, in fact, YSRCP MLA Kodali Nani too said that if NTR doesn’t take TDP’s responsibility, the party would disappear soon. While NTR’s decision on this is vaguely predicted, RGV is not stopping anytime sooner in pointing out the flaws of other parties.
