Jagan to prune Amaravati master plan?

The YSR Congress party government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is learnt to have decided to make drastic changes in the master plan for the new capital of Amaravati in order to bring down burden on the state government.

According to highly placed sources, Jagan told the officials of the AP Capital Reconstruction Development that there was no need to have the capital in such a huge area and it could be restricted to only those buildings and infrastructure required for an operational capital.

He reportedly suggested that the master plan could be reworked in such a way that only government buildings like Secretariat, assembly, high court and residential quarters for ministers, MLAs, judges and bureaucrats could be there in the capital region.

“After keeping the land required for this core capital region, besides infrastructure facilities like roads, power supply, drainage and greenery, the remaining land could be returned to the farmers. All the villages in the capital region don’t have to be disturbed,” sources said.

The chief minister is understood to have given green signal for the ongoing constructions, after reworking the tenders and complete them in a specified time.

“Already, the previous government had made huge borrowings and there shall be no more loans. The World Bank loan can also be rejected,” Jagan told them.

He also ordered reviewing of land allocations made to various institutions.

“Those who have already commenced their work would be allowed to continue and those which did not start the projects would have to surrender their lands,” sources said.

Municipal polls, an acid test for KCR

The forthcoming elections to the municipalities and corporations across Telangana are going to be an acid test to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

According to official sources, the elections to 138 municipalities, besides corporations, are likely to be held on August 11. The government would soon inform the State Election Commission for taking up elections.

Sources said that the SEC might issue a notification on July 21. Before that the SEC may release the voters’ list as per the wards in the municipalities.

Later on, the reservations would be finalised to SC, ST, BC and women. The reservations would be finalised and published on July 19.

The TRS received a setback in the Lok Sabha elections by winning just nine out of 17 MP seats in the state, but bounced back in the local body elections by capturing all the 32 zilla parishads and 90 per cent of the mandal parishads. But they were purely local issues, where the people voted for the local candidates.

However, in the municipal elections, the electorate would be urban and educated, where the problems and election issues would be different. The TRS would be facing a tough battle from both the Congress and the BJP.

If the TRS can repeat the performance of local bodies and the assembly elections in municipal polls, too, then KCR will gain enough strength to rule the state without any hassles till 2023.

Allu Arjun shares photos of newly upgraded vanity van

Hyderabad: Actor Allu Arjun on Friday shared pictures of his new, highly sophisticated and upgraded vanity van with his followers on Twitter.

“Every time I buy something big in my life, there is only one thought in my mind. People have showered so much love; it’s the power of their love that I am being able to buy all this. Gratitude forever. Thank you all. It’s my vanity van, FALCON,” Arjun tweeted along with some pictures of the vanity van.

Going by the pictures, Arjun’s van has got a major upgrade. According to the industry grapevine, the van cost a whopping Rs 7 crore.

Arjun is currently busy shooting for filmmaker Trivikram’s yet-untitled Telugu film, which also stars Pooja Hegde and Tabu in crucial roles.

This is Arjun’s third film with Trivikram after “Julayi” and “S/O Sathyamurthy”.

Rajamouli And TANA, What Went Wrong?

Two contradictory social media posts from TANA chief and Rajamouli have led the NRI fans into confusion. Because, actually Rajamouli was welcomed by TANA president Satish Vemana at the airport, whose pictures are now going viral.

And then there comes a clarification tweet from Rajamouli saying, “Friends, I have come to Washington on a personal work. Not for TANA convention. I might not even attend peddanna’s musical show. I do not want people to expect me at the convention and get disappointed. Hence the clarificarion (sic)”.

So, is it an coincidence that Rajamouli landed in the USA at a time when Satish Vemana and other TANA representatives are present at the airport? Some NRIs are however saying that they never knew Rajamouli was coming for the event, as TANA organizers did not mention it anywhere in the celebration details or in the guests list.

So it is probably a coincidence where TANA Organizers met Rajamouli at the airport while they were receiving other guests and respectfully welcomed him to the event for which Rajamouli must have clarified to end the dilemma.

Also, the actress earlier stated that she will be happy to see the grand First Day collections for the movie, and going by the word of mouth at theatres, all the first shows and second shows might help her see a mighty figure.

With ‘Oh Baby’ getting 3 and above stars from all quarters, surely Samantha will have a great time ahead at the box office. Responding to a Twitter query, she now says, “Finally, I’m going sleep”, though she’s still busy replying, retweeting and liking tweets.

Music Director Turns Villain For Palasa

Raghu Kunche needs no introduction in the film circles. From being a TV programmes host to a once-upon-a-time successful music composer, Raghu Kunche made his own mark in the movie industry. Often times, he is seen on the big screen in small roles but for the first time, he decided to take up acting full-time and turned the lead antagonist for an upcoming Telugu movie titled Palasa 1978.

As a matter of fact, Raghu Kunche is not being considered by popular filmmakers. He is being restricted to some unnoticed small budgeted flicks that come and go without any notice. Just like the movies, his music is also going unnoticed. The actor’s last notable project as a music director is Puri Jagannath’s Devudu Chesina Manushulu.

Hence, Raghu is now eyeing on making a comeback to success as an actor. Karuna Kumar who earlier made Drona is directing Palasa and roped in Raghu for the villain role. Interestingly, Raghu will be playing four shades in this villain role and he will be presented in four different looks.
