Budget 2019: 5 Things To Know
– The first Union Budget of Independent India was presented by RK Shanmukhan Chetty on November 26, 1947.
– Indira Gandhi was the first woman Finance Minister to present the Union Budget in 1970. So, Nirmala Sitharaman will be the second woman Finance Minister to present the Union Budget in 2019. However, Nirmala will be the first full-time woman Finance Minister to present the budget since Indira Gandhi was also Prime Minister when she had presented the budget for 1970-71.
– Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present the 89th Union Budget (including interim budgets) today.
– The longest budget speech was made by Manmohan Singh in 1991 with 18,364 words. Arun Jaitley had come close to Manmohan’s record in 2014-15 budget speech with 16,552 words. Chidambaram delivered relatively smaller budget speeches.
– Morarji Desai holds the record for delivering highest number of budgets – 10. Chidambaram is the second to Morarji Desi as he delivered 8 budgets so far.
A Sweet And Short Kashmir Trip For Mahesh
That’s just a quite short break for Mahesh Babu after he returned from London, wrapping his major European holiday after the super success of Maharshi. And now, he has headed back to work again though it is pouring a bit in the upper parts of India.
It took just a couple of weeks for Mahesh to get back to work again as he got fit in this time and has landed in Kashmir now. He will be shooting for a few action episodes related to Sarileru Neekevvaru in various locales of Kashmir in the coming days. As Mahesh is playing the role of an army Major in the movie, Kashmir backdrop is aptly suitable for the same.
But this Kashmir episode is going to be sweet and short because Mahesh will return to Hyderabad very soon. And then, there will be no going anywhere as the whole of the film will be shot in Hyderabad only. They will be flying to Europe to shoot some songs on Mahesh and heroine Rashmika Mandanna later.
Sarileru Neekevvaru is set for January 2020 release, so the film will be progressing without any delay to catch the deadlines.
This Tamil Hero Should Give Up Hollywood Disorder
Our ‘Hero’ plays the role of a guy with negative shades and chases down goons in style in a foreign locale. Or he is out there saving an innocent from the clutches of someone. Or he is there in a stylised avatar and picks advanced weapons on behalf of government– All these lines look like typical Hollywood stories, and here is their connection with this talented Tamil hero.
In recent times, we have seen Vikram’s movies like 10 Enradhukulla, Inkokkadu, Dhruva Natchitram (only trailer released) and now Mr KK. All these films have Vikram featuring in a stylish avatar, doing some chases, few stunts and performing some stunning emotions quite easily. If we look at each trailer individually, they are amazing, but collectively it looks like Vikram is doing the same thing again and again.
While Vikram is known for picking up versatile stories, it looks like he lost interest over such projects as they have given him back to back flops. But then, this Hollywood disorder is also not good as repeated feeding of similar action stuff will also not work. Rather going for such Hollywood-like stories and scenes, maybe Vikram should try something like that of a Danush and Vijay Sethupathi, where things are raw and native.
Naidu trying to shed TDP’s ‘kamma party’ image!
After facing humiliating defeat at the hands of YSRCP in the recent Assembly polls, former AP CM and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to shed ‘kamma party’ image associated with TDP.
This is because the post-mortem on election results being conducted by Naidu in all the review meetings has been revealing that voters opposed TDP because it is a ‘kamma party’ and worked only for the benefit of ‘kamma people’ during the last five years of its rule in AP.
Party leaders and cadre are bringing to the notice of Naidu that because of ‘kamma party’ image, TDP lost polls as all other castes in AP supported YSRCP.
They told Naidu that ‘kamma image’ has damaged the prospects of TDP. With this, Naidu is now trying to shed ‘kamma image’ of TDP. Naidu is now claiming that TDP is not at all a ‘kamma party’.
He said if TDP is a ‘kamma party’ he would have lost Kuppam seat also.
Naidu said out of 2 lakh voters in Kuppam, only 1,000 votes are from Kamma caste, to which Naidu belongs.
He said he won from Kuppam for the seventh consecutive term because all non-Kamma castes supported him.
Kuppam proves that TDP is not a ‘kamma party’ and all TDP leaders and cadre should highlight this example in their constituencies to shed TDP’s image of a ‘kamma party’, Naidu said.
Watch: Entha Manchivaadavuraa Title Logo
As we have already reported, Nandamuri Kalyanram’s upcoming film title ‘Entha Manchivaadavuraa’ title logo is unveiled with a concept video, on the eve of the actor’s birthday.
Going by this Title Video, once can easily understand that Kalyanram play a Good Samaritan in the film.
Kalyanram delivered a hit film this year with ‘118’ and actor is looking forward to come up with another entertaining movie this year with ‘Entha Manchivaadavuraa’.
After the debacle of ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’, National Award Film Director Satish Vegesna took his time to announce this new project, with Mehreen as the leading lady and Gopisundar is composing the music for the film.
Umesh Gupta & Subhas Gupta are producing the film under Aditya Music Pvt Ltd banner and Sivalenka Krishna Prasad is the presenter.
Saaho Missing The Magic of Baahubali
One of the biggest factors in the mighty success of Baahubali movies is publicity. Rajamouli and Arka Media made sure to grab full attention of Non-Telugu markets just by their promotion tactics.
Now the makers of Saaho are hoping to make similar sensation like Baahubali, but they haven’t come up with anything worth noting as of now.
Saaho is clearly lagging behind in terms of promotion. Thanks to post-Baahubali craze of Prabhas, the film is getting good attention all over. However, Team Saaho is failing to build on the existing hype around it.
Apart from launching a teaser and a couple of posters, there is nothing innovative from Team Saaho in promoting the film.
They have hired a promotional team from Bollywood and they don’t have a clue about how to target Telugu and Southern markets.
With the makers pre-occupied with wrapping up the songs and post production, it is up to the PR team to see that the film keeps trending all the time.
With the release date fast approaching, Team Saaho should do something to keep the film buzzing.
Releasing Today: Can Samantha Do It Solo?
Samantha has numerous hits up her sleeve and she is probably the most successful actress among her contemporaries.
However, Samantha is yet to score a hit all by herself with a female oriented film. U Turn won acclaim but didn’t turn out to be a success at the box office.
In Samantha’s defence, U Turn was a serious thriller that has limited appeal. But Oh Baby that is releasing today is a comedy entertainer with Samantha playing a fun character.
Oh Baby is having pretty good pre release buzz that could translate into good openings at the ticket windows.
Samantha has competition though. Burrakatha featuring Aadi Sai Kumar and Spiderman: Far From Home are releasing today along with Oh Baby. However, Samantha should dominate the Telugu box office given its impressive promos and pre release buzz.
Oh Baby is a key film for Samantha as its performance can influence the actress’s future choices.
KCR trying to throw away Andhra employees from Hyd!
One one hand, Telangana CM KCR is claiming to be maintaining ‘cordial ties’ with AP, by frequently meeting AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy.On the other hand, he is making moves to throw away Andhra employees working in various Telangana government departments from Hyderabad citing the same ‘cordial ties’.
In the recent meeting between KCR and Jagan, Telangana officials proposed before Jagan to take all the Andhra employees working in various departments in Telangana government to Andhra.
This is against the spirit of AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
The Act clearly stated that employees will be given the choice to choose the state of their choice after bifurcation.Few Andhra employees are working in Hyderabad, especially in Secretariat, TS Transco, TS Genco and other Heads of Departments (HoD) offices because they opted for Telangana when Kamalnathan committee appointed by Centre for bifurcation of employees between Telangana and AP.
These employees should be continued in their chosen states till they retire.
But KCR now wants all Andhra employees to shift to Amaravathi and AP government should take these employees based on their ‘Andhra nativity’.About 1,157 Andha employees are working in TS Transco, TS Genco in Hyderabad.
The TS government now proposed before Jagan to shift these employees to Andhra as they are Andhra natives and all jobs in Telangana should belong to Telangana natives.KCR feels that to maintain ‘cordial ties’ it is better only natives get jobs in their respective states.
It remains to be seen how Jagan reacts to this proposal.
Get Ready For Remix Of Dhee And Ready!
From a long time, there is this combination that many are waiting for. It is none other than Manchu Vishnu and Sreenu Vaitla, who have created magic with “Dhee” back then, where there are no expectations of them. Now that both the celebs are in need of a break, is there any possibility of that?
Reports are coming that Sreenu Vaitla is uniting not just with his ‘Dhee’ hero, but also with his ‘Ready’ hero Ram Pothineni. Both those films are super hits at that time and Vaitla has started the cult of ‘house comedy’ in Tollywood. However, all these three have stuck to the same for long, thereby developing a need to come up with something fresh now.
Reports are coming that now Vaitla is coming up with a multi-starrer featuring Vishnu and Ram in the leads. The film will have a crime comedy as the storyline, where the director will be experimenting with some unique characterization for both the heroes. There is no authenticity over these reports, but Film Nagar folks are saying that the project is very much on.
In that case, we have to say that the remix of Dhee and Ready is getting ready, and hope they come out with flying colors.
