Kabir Singh Trailer: Arjun Reddy Recreated!
Arjun Reddy is not an easy film to remake. In fact, its Tamil remake directed by veteran filmmaker Bala has been scrapped when the film was nearing completion. Tamil producers felt the Bala’s version hasn’t done justice to the original.
The Hindi version however looks like a faithful and authentic remake of the cult film. Even Shahid Kapoor looks good as Kabir Singh.
He is particularly impressive with the bearded getup, but looks a bit old to play the medico. Kiara Advani looks good as the female lead.
Trailer of Kabir Singh has shown some of the sensational scenes from Arjun Reddy, which are sure going to grab the attention of those who haven’t watched the original.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga made sure to keep the soul intact and that arousing background score also is retained.
Let’s see whether the story of Arjun Reddy can repeat its sensation in Hindi markets too.
With fame came abuse & mental torture: RCB fangirl
Deepika Ghose, who became an overnight sensation after being spotted cheering for Virat Kohli’s men in one of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s games in the just concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) has said that life hasn’t been the same for her since the video went viral. Disappointed at how she is now seen only as an RCB fangirl, Deepika said that there is definitely more to her personality.
It was during RCB’s game against Sunrisers Hyderabad that Deepika was spotted by one of the host broadcaster’s cameramen at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The video went viral the next day and she even got a verified status on the photo-blogging website Instagram.
Now, she has made an Instagram post, wherein she has spoken about the moment when she was spotted in the IPL and what it has led to ever since.
“My name is Deepika Ghose & that is probably the only thing that is being said about me which is 100% TRUE,” she said.
Deepika, who has been going to watch RCB matches for years now with her family, had no idea this match would be any different.
“I did not want any recognition or realise the number of times that I was on camera. I am no celebrity, just an ordinary girl who was enjoying the match. I did nothing to warrant the kind of attention that ensued after the TV images appeared and I certainly did not seek it,” said Deepika.
She added that while she was grateful for all the love she has been receiving, she is also disturbed by the unnecessary negativity. “It has been an extreme case of abuse, trauma and mental torture. I am confused as to how people found my name/profile.
“My identity, privacy and life have been hacked in an instant. A lot of the overnight followers are men who have used this platform to be crude, vulgar, vicious & entirely disrespectful.
“Even more shocking is the hate I have received from women. How quick & cruel you have been to say mean things to & about me without even knowing me. I AM ONE OF YOU!” she added.
Deepika maintained that the world desperately needs more women supporting and uplifting each other.
“I am appalled by how I have been judged & condemned instead of being given a compassionate hearing. Stop & think about how it is as a girl to have been subjected to this unwanted attention,” she said.
She further said she will turn herself into something genuine, meaningful and fabulous.
“Yes, I am #theRCBgirl but I am SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT,” Deepika ended the post.
Falaknuma Das trailer: About a thug of Old City
Hero ‘victory’ Venkatesh has launched the trailer of ‘Falaknuma Das.’ Like the teaser, this trailer also offers a lot of cuss words from the beginning to the end.
It’s all about Das played by Vishwak Sen of ‘Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi’ fame who is born and brought up in Falaknuma and loves the vibes of the place.
He wants to do some business in Falaknuma and get settled but things don’t turn up as anticipated.
Das has badass attitude like a typical Hyderabadi and doesn’t care to bash up anyone who come opposite to him. He has a romantic angle too and locks lips with the female leads.
This film also marks the directorial debut of Vishwak Sen. Then comes director Tharun Bhascker. He essays a cop and handles the gang fights of Das and others.
Overall, ‘Falaknuma Das’ trailer is racy and it’s a Suresh Productions presentation.
Millionaires leaving India in large numbers
New Delhi: A new report suggests that Indians who have the means to quit the country are doing so and in increasing numbers. India saw the third highest outflow of wealthy individuals last year.
Nearly 5,000 millionaires, or high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), left the country, which is 2% of the total number of HNWIs in India, says the Global Wealth Migration Review 2019 by AfrAsia Bank and research firm New World Wealth.
The net outflow of HNWIs that India saw in 2018, was even faster than the UK, which is in the middle of a turmoil owing to Brexit.
The UK for the last three decades was ranked among the countries with the highest number of inflow of wealthy individuals but the trend reversed in the last two years, thanks to Brexit. China topped the list, as its economy is starting to show the impact of the trade battle with the United States.
Telangana Official In Trouble For Seeking 300 Free Tickets For IPL Final
HYDERABAD: A senior official of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department landed in trouble for seeking 300 complimentary tickets for the Indian Premier League (IPL) final with higher-ups taking a “serious view” and issuing a memo.
The two most successful teams of the IPL-Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings – clashed in the final in Hyderabad on SundaFry night.
K Pradeep Rao, District Prohibition and Excise Officer of Medchal-Malkajgiri District, wrote a letter to the chief executive officer of the Hyderabad Cricket Association seeking 50 complimentary corporate box and 250 other privilege passes to be given to “higher authorities”.
“Kind attention is invited to the subject cited and requesting to provide (300) IPL cricket match tickets for the upcoming final match to be held on 12-05-2019 so as to provide the same to the higher authorities of the department,” Pradeep Rao wrote in an official letter with stamp and seal on May 9.
Justifying the letter, the official said many people sought tickets during cricket matches and the Board of Control for Cricket in India normally asked them to send the request.
When contacted, Special Chief Secretary (Commercial Taxes and Excise) Somesh Kumar said the government took a serious view of the letter written by his department official.
“This official wrote a letter (for tickets). We have taken basically a serious view. As a first step we are issuing a charge memo (to him) and further action will follow,” Mr Kumar told news agency Press Trust of India.
Recently, the central deputation tenure of senior bureaucrat Gopal Krishan Gupta, who had sought complimentary passes for IPL matches from Delhi cricket association, had been curtailed and he was sent back to his cadre railway ministry.
Mr Gupta, a 1987 batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), had in March sought complimentary passes for an IPL match from the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rajat Sharma’s office, an official communique had said.
Pollsters: BJP slowdown in Dangal 2019 but no UPA gain
New Delhi: A survey of voters undertaken by institutions and calculations by independent psephologists have indicated a surprising unanimity of possible scenarios post May 23 when the results of the Lok Sabha elections are declared — they show that the NDA is likely to have a pared down performance compared to 2014 while the UPA might not move into areas possibly vacated by the BJP-led alliance unless it finds new allies.
A study by the Centre for Socio-Economic and Political Research (CSEPR) in Delhi at the conclusion of Phase VI of polling suggests that the NDA as a pre-poll alliance could muster 231 seats as compared to 174 seats of the UPA, while calculations of the possible poll outcome by a well-known psephologist indicate similar numbers — 234 for the NDA and 169 for the UPA.
Another calculation made by a psephologist appears to anticipate that the tables could be turned on the NDA by the UPA — it suggests that the Congress and its allies could corner 287 seats as against the NDA’s 256. However, this calculation factors in possible post poll tie-ups for both the alliances.
It brackets the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal and the Bahujan Samaj Party-Samajwadi Party Mahagathbandhan in Uttar Pradesh with the Congress. There is no such tie-up now and these parties could add 80 seats to the UPA numbers, according to this calculation.
The calculation also places the YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh, the Biju Janata Dal in Odisha and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti in Telangana on the same side as the NDA. Once again, there is no such tie-up at the moment, and if these three parties were to join the NDA, they would together add 50 seats to the NDA numbers, according to this calculation. The Congress party’s own tally is likely to be 117 seats and the BJP’s 168 seats, the forecast made by this psephologist appears to indicate.
While these surveys and calculations are undertaken professionally and scientifically, they are often considered speculative in accurately predicting voter behaviour.
The CSEPR suggests that in Uttar Pradesh, the NDA could get about 30 seats, the UPA about 5 seats and the mahagathbandhan about 45 seats. These are exactly the figures anticipated in the calculations made by the second psephologist — 30 seats for the NDA, five for the Congress and 45 for the Mahagathbandhan. But as he places the Mahagathbandhan as a Congress ally, the tally for Congress and allies is placed at 50 seats. The calculations made by the first psephologist are also along these lines in Uttar Pradesh — 28 for the NDA, four for the UPA and 48 for the Mahagathbandhan.
For the big battleground of West Bengal, where the main fight is between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP, the CSEPR survey says that the BJP would do much better than in 2014 and is likely to get eight seats against two last time, while the Trinamool Congress is likely to get 32 seats and the Congress with allies a distant two seats.
The calculation by the first psephologist says that the BJP could get nine seats, the Trinamool Congress 31 seats and the Congress alliance two seats. The second psephologist’s calculations gives much more to the Trinamool Congress — 35 seats — and the Congress one seat, and the BJP alliance six seats. However, because he places the Trinamool Congress in the Congress camp, the alliance’s tally is put at 36 seats.
The subtext in this is that if these calculations and surveys indeed prove right, the BJP would have increased its vote share in Bengal and that would give the Trinamool Congress much room for worry because it would provide the BJP the launch pad for growth in the state. The BJP had got 17 per cent of the votes in the 2014 general elections but this had dropped to 10.16 per cent in the state Assembly elections in 2016.
The CSEPR indicates that in Bihar, the BJP and the Janata Dal-United could get 22 of the 40 seats while the Congress-Rashtriya Janata Dal alliance is likely to get the remaining 18 seats. The calculation by the first psephologist also favours the NDA, giving it 25 seats and the UPA 15, while the second psephologist places the NDA and the UPA tallies at 20 seats each.
In Maharashtra, which has 48 seats — the highest after Uttar Pradesh — the CSEPR survey suggests that the BJP-Shiv Sena combine will get 34 seats while the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party combine will get 14 seats. The calculations by both psephologists say that the NDA could get 28 seats and the UPA 20 seats in the state.

Will Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party have any chance after 23rd May, when the poll results come out?
Pawan Kalyan is confident of securing seats that would make a mark on Andhra Pradesh political scene.
When asked about his assessment of poll prospects, the actor recently said that he would not speculate on seats.
“We have made an impact. I am pretty sure that our party will be taken seriously by all,” he observed.

He wants to continue his political journey irrespective of win or loss. Looks like he has set eyes on 2024.
