Biggest Punch To #ChaySam’s Majili
One of the super hit films of this season is none other than Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s Majili, which was directed by Siva Nirvana. The film has already made 40 crores share from the box office and emerged as the biggest solo hit of the Akkineni star.
At a time when Maharshi got average talk, definitely, a hit film like Majili would have made more money, giving some more last minute profits to the distributors of the movie. However, the film got its biggest punch as family audiences now found a great alternative of the film against its theatrical watching.
Majili got released on Amazon Prime now and already people with 55-inch TVs equipped with home theatres already started enjoying the theatrical experience of this romantic drama at their homes. Surely this will create a bit of dent in Majili collections, but the film already gave 200% profits to its makers anyway.
On the other hand, those who have watched the film in theatres are getting ready to watch it for the second time on their TVs and laptops now.
Pic Talk: Kajal claps for her manager’s production
Tall beauty Kajal Aggarwal’s manager Ronnson Joseph is turning as producer and the film is launched today in Hyderabad.
This film will have noted producer Raj Kandukuri’s son Shiva in the male lead role is while Megha Akash is the female lead.
Titled ‘Manu Charita’ the film will be directed by Bharath Kumar P and music is by Gopi Sundar.
Kajal clapped the sound board for the first scene while on the lead pair while Ajay Bhupathi directed the first scene and C Kalyan switched on the camera. Director Sudheer Varma and prosucer Sahu Garapati have handed over the script.
‘Manu Charitra’ is touted to be an intense love story and the regular shooting will commence from this month.
Kajal is presenting the movie while N Sreenivas Reddy is also the producer.
Back To Back Rumours On Geethanjali
Directed by Raj Kiran under the ‘guidance’ of Kona Venkat, Geethanjali (2014) is a super hit horror film that featured Telugu beauty Anjali in the lead. And now, Kona Venkat has initiated Geethanjali 2 with her, a couple of months ago.
Reports are doing rounds that the producer of the film is not happy with the way Kona Venkat is handling the project and the overall story is also said to be cliched. For that reason, the sequel is said to have got halted big time recently. The producer is not willing to go ahead with the project it seems.
And another rumour we’re hearing is that the rumoured director, an NRI from the USA, is said to be directing the film in a mediocre way. After watching the film’s first schedule rushes, the whole unit has got shocked with his work, a source said.
Also there are rumours that Anjali is getting married hence the film got stopped, but other day the Razole beauty has given clarity that there is no truth in such thing and she’s not getting married any sooner.
Mahesh Going Back To Aagadu Theme For Fun
With Maharshi hitting cinemas, Mahesh Babu is going to take a couple of months break from work, before he actually starts shooting for director Anil Ravipudi’s movie. And already the Superstar revealed that this film is going to be another Dookudu like stuff for him.
Reports are coming that there will Aagadu theme touched in Anil Ravipudi’s movie. That is nothing but the Rayalaseema slang with a dose of satire and comedy. Though Aagadu was directed by Sreenu Vaitla, majority of the comedy part of the film was written by Anil Ravipudi only. Later this young writer left for his directorial debut Pataas, leaving Aagadu’s fate in the doldrums.
It looks like Anil will now incorporate his thoughts developed for Mahesh during that time and carve out a new age comedy entertainer. Meanwhile, as Maharshi also happens to be another serious film after the likes of Bharat Anu Nenu and Spyder, fans are also wanting this comedy dose from the Superstar big time.
Dear Telugu Directors, Give Him Better Roles
There are many underrated actors and only a few of them regularly get opportunities. One such actor is none other than talented Rajeev Kanakala who is in the film industry since his childhood. And other day, he just flashed his brilliant acting prowess yet again.
In Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi, Rajeev appeared in a brief role that barely gives him two proper scenes. He excels in that small role with negative touch quite easily and proved that he’s someone who could be mould into any sort of character. While the audiences wanted more of him, the character got shrouded in the storyline.
Those who have seen Rajeev’s portrayal are seen asking directors and filmmakers to give more roles to such a talented person. In fact, he deserves some strong villain roles opposite star Telugu heroes as he could seriously give a run for the money when given such challenges.
Like Rajeev, we have other talented actors like Brahmaji and Naresh who should be given some more serious and better roles.
After #SyeRaa, Anushka Might Join #RRR
After the super success of Bhaghamathie movie, curvaceous siren Anushka hasn’t signed any other big film owing to the fact that she wants to slim down heavily. And now, she’s part of many films including that of Indo-American film Silence.
Recently we have reported that Anushka is likely to sizzle in #SyeRaa, as she is likely to do a special item number in this film featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi as Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Though there is confirmation over this, some sources revealed that Anushka will shoot for the song very soon.
And then, there is a buzz that the Baahubali actress will also join Rajamouli’s next film. Reportedly she will be doing a small role in the period film #RRR which deals with the life and times of Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. A source revealed that she plays a three minutes crucial role in the movie, which comes right before the interval.
Looks like Baahubali’s Devasena is enjoying her presence in historical and period films if the news about her acts in Sye Raa and RRR is true.
TIME Magazine Cover calls Modi ‘Divider-in-Chief’
In what could create an annoying few days for the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Time Magazine’s cover has described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as India’s “Divider in Chief.” The May 20th issue of the Time’s is apparently on all editions of the Magazine except the US. The cover story written by Aatish Taseer questions “Can the world’s largest democracy endure another five years of a Modi government?.”
Interestingly, Aatish Taseer is the son of popular Delhi-based journalist Tavleen Singh who has been a pro-BJP journalist for a long time. Another article in the magazine looks at how Modi’s reign in India has had a positive effect on the country and why the country needs a strong face like him to push economic reforms.
Many view this as a change of stance from the Time Magazine which had Modi on its 2015 issue cover where it said “Why Modi Matters” and also carried an in-depth interview of the Prime Minister. In this issue’s cover story written by Taseer, the article explores how Modi’s ascension to power was followed by a series of incidents that promote hate-mongering among different religious communities. The article also looks into how nationalism has been used as a clever strategy by the BJP in the election campaigns but has had debilitating effects on the country.
Day 2: Maharshi Holds Well in Nizam
Mahesh Babu’s “Maharshi” took mixed reactions from all. The reviews were also not so entirely positive. But the film is cashing in on the craze and summer holidays.
After setting non-Baahubali record on the first day, the movie has performed on strong note on second day too.
“Maharshi” has raked in Rs 3.28 Cr share in its second day which is very good hold. Its total share is Rs 9.66 Cr.
If it continues to perform in similar manner on Saturday and Sunday, then it will head for big haul in the first week.
On the other hand, the film is continuing to underperform in USA. On Friday, it has received just above $200k (early estimates). It will only reach to $1 million mark on Saturday.
“Maharshi” is Mahesh Babu’s 25th film. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju, the film has Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh in key roles.
‘iSmart Shankar’ rights are yet to be done: Charmme
The producers of ‘iSmart Shankar’ has rubbished the reports of ‘iSmart Shankar.’ Some unconfirmed reports claimed that the film’s business is done.
But denying, Charmme said, “We haven’t talked about it till date as we have concentrated on the shoot all these days. Very soon we are planning to launch the teaser as well.”
Further Charmme said, Friday happens to be the last of talkie part shooting and songs are remaining to be done. With the confidence on the content n combination of Puri n Ram ‘iSmart Shankar’ has been shot on a very grand scale.
Acknowledging that they received offers from various areas, Charmme added, yes that’s true that many distributors have approached me for the rights but I refused to take a call at such early stages .. As the main focus is to make our film superbly and then we will discuss about the rights and business of the film.
‘iSmart Shankar’ is a Puri Jagannadh directorial and has Ram Pothineni, Nidhhi Agerwal and Nabha Natesh in the lead roles.
Namrata Slams Troll Who Wrote ‘Use Make-Up, Are You Depressed’
Namrata Shirodkar is celebrating the release and early success of her actor husband Mahesh Babu’s recent film Maharshi with her family and close friends.
Pictures from their cosy get-together are all over the internet and on one of the photos and in the comments section of one of the pictures, an Instagram user wrote: “Namarta, why don’t you put some make-up. Are you suffering with… depression.”
The former Miss World shut the troll with her empowering reply, which read: “You might love women with make-up… maybe you should follow someone who is always made up and suits your criteria! You are not going to find it on this page!! So maybe you should get off it… sincere request.”
Namrata Shirodkar was crowned Miss India in 1993 and she went on to represent India in the Miss Universe pageant, where she stood sixth.Five years after winning Miss India pageant, Namrata Shirodkar started her Bollywood journey with a small appearance in Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai.
Namrata Shirodkar and Mahesh Babu are parents to son Gautham and daughter Sitara.
