Anushka Shetty Reveals Why She Took a Break After Bhaagamathie

Share

After the release of Bhaagamathie, actress Anushka Shetty took a surprising break from the silver screen, sparking endless speculation. At a time when she was at the peak of her career, the sudden pause left fans wondering. Typically, actors step away after a string of flops, but Anushka chose to take time off despite being in the midst of back-to-back successes.

Rumors swirled—some said she wasn’t getting offers, others claimed she was deliberately distancing herself from films, and a few speculated that she was preparing for marriage. Through it all, Anushka remained silent, never addressing the buzz directly—until now.

In a recent interaction, Anushka finally opened up about the real reason behind her hiatus. “By the time I completed Bhaagamathie, I was exhausted from doing films non-stop. It had reached a point where every day—from morning to night—was spent in front of the camera. Life had turned into a series of sets and schedules,” she explained.

She revealed that the break was a conscious decision to step away and recharge. “I felt the need to distance myself from the camera for a while. I received plenty of film offers during the break, but I just didn’t have the enthusiasm to act at that time. This gap helped me reconnect with myself, and now I feel completely refreshed and excited to work again.”

Anushka also shared an interesting detail about her preferences—despite being a part of iconic horror films like Arundhati and Bhaagamathie, she admitted that she doesn’t watch horror films herself. When asked if she had seen those two movies, her response subtly hinted that she hadn’t.

However, she holds Arundhati very close to her heart, calling it a turning point in her career. “I learned so much during the shoot of Arundhati. It remains one of the most impactful experiences of my life,” she said.

Now back in the spotlight, Anushka appears re-energized and ready to take on new challenges—with a sense of calm, clarity, and the same grace that made her a household name.

Malavika Manoj’s Promising Telugu Debut in O Bhama Ayyo Rama

Share

After winning hearts with her performance in the Malayalam film Jo, actress Malavika Manoj is all set to make her Telugu debut with the romantic comedy O Bhama Ayyo Rama, starring Suhas in the lead. Directed by Ram Godhal and produced by Harish Nalla under the WE Arts banner, the film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on July 11.

In a recent media interaction, Malavika shared her excitement about entering Telugu cinema and the unique journey behind her role. “Director Ram watched my performance in Jo and felt I was the perfect fit for this film,” Malavika said. “When I heard the story, I immediately connected with it.”

Speaking about her character, she revealed, “I play Satyabhama, a role that’s very different from what I’ve done before. It’s not the typical simple village girl. This character is modern, hyper, bold, and full of attitude. It challenged me to express a wide range of emotions, and that’s something every actor craves.”

Interestingly, Malavika didn’t undergo specific prep for the role. “Even though Telugu isn’t my first language, I understood the emotions and performed accordingly. The team was so professional and supportive—it really made my debut experience joyful.”

One of the most challenging moments for Malavika was a swimming scene. “I didn’t know how to swim,” she admitted. “But I didn’t want to delay the shoot, so I just faced the fear and did it. That moment really pushed me as an actor.”

Malavika also praised her co-star Suhas. “He’s a very dedicated artist—quiet, focused, and fully committed on set. Working with him was a pleasure.” She also appreciated the experience of working with directors like Harish Shankar and Maruthi, calling them “extremely professional and encouraging.”

On whether she is open to glamorous roles, Malavika said, “I don’t follow strict rules. If I’m comfortable with the character and the story justifies it, I’m open to it. But if something doesn’t feel right to me, I wouldn’t take it up.”

Reflecting on her role and the film’s theme, she concluded, “O Bhama Ayyo Rama feels fresh and entertaining. The love story is portrayed differently, and I believe the audience will find it both heartwarming and humorous. I feel truly lucky to be a part of this film.”

With her confident screen presence, refreshing honesty, and passion for versatility, Malavika Manoj is surely an exciting new talent to watch out for in Telugu cinema.

Upasana’s Powerful Message: Marry from Strength, Not Fear

Upasana Kamineni Konidela—philanthropist, entrepreneur, and wife of Global Star Ram Charan—has once again used her platform to champion women’s empowerment. In a heartfelt social media message, she offered a bold and thought-provoking perspective on modern marriage, urging women to “marry from strength, not fear.”

Known for her consistent advocacy of financial independence and emotional well-being, Upasana encouraged young women to first build self-worth, confidence, and independence before stepping into marriage. “Let’s encourage our women to marry from strength, not fear. No more marrying for money or status—those can be built together with the right partner,” she wrote.

Her post struck a chord across social platforms, especially among millennials and Gen Z, as she highlighted the need for mutual respect, emotional maturity, and stability in relationships—rather than adhering to traditional timelines or societal pressures.

Upasana also drew insight from a recent session at Harvard Business School, where she studied under renowned professor Debora Spar. She echoed the evolving view that women no longer need marriage as a pathway to status, security, or even parenthood. Instead, she emphasized, marriage should be a conscious and empowered choice.

Wrapping up her message with a gentle but impactful line, she urged women to, “Find your Ram”—a reference to choosing a partner who brings strength and peace, not stress and pressure.

Upasana’s words come at a time when the conversation around women’s autonomy in relationships is gaining momentum in India, and her voice continues to inspire many to rethink age-old conventions through a modern, progressive lens.

Share

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s nephew, Maadhav—son of his younger brother Raghu—is all set to make his silver screen debut with the film Maremma, a rustic action drama directed by newcomer Manchala Nagaraj.

Unveiling the film’s first look poster, the makers have given audiences a glimpse of the film’s raw and intense backdrop. Maadhav, in a rugged lungi-clad avatar, is seen standing fiercely with a stick in hand, exuding power and grit. His long hair, thick beard, and earthy costume reflect the film’s rural tone. A buffalo in the background further reinforces the village setting and adds authenticity to his character’s world.

Maremma promises to blend emotion, action, and authentic storytelling, making it a compelling launchpad for the debutant actor. Maadhav’s screen presence in the first look has already sparked curiosity and excitement among fans.

The film features Deepa Balu as the female lead, while Vinod Kumar and Vikas Vasishta play significant supporting roles. The technical team is equally promising—Prasanth Ankireddy handles the cinematography, Prashanth R Vihari composes the music, with Dev Rathod on editing duties, and Rajkumar Murugesan as the art director.

With an intense storyline set in a rural landscape and a strong supporting crew, Maremma appears to be a well-thought-out debut vehicle for Maadhav. The film is expected to resonate with both mass and class audiences alike.

War 2 Shoot Wrapped, Set for August 2025 Release

The much-awaited next chapter in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, War 2, has officially wrapped up its shoot. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the high-octane action thriller stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in lead roles and is set for a grand theatrical release on August 14, 2025—perfectly timed for the Independence Day weekend.

The ambitious production commenced in October 2023, spanning nearly two years of filming across international and domestic locations. The journey began in Salamanca, Spain, where the team captured a gripping car chase sequence, followed by adrenaline-pumping action scenes filmed at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, including a high-speed boat chase.

Back home in Mumbai, pivotal set pieces and fight sequences were filmed throughout 2024. One of the highlights includes Hrithik Roshan’s katana fight, choreographed on a specially constructed set inspired by a Shaolin Monastery. Meanwhile, a massive 40-man action sequence featuring Jr NTR added further scale and intensity to the production.

The shoot continued in Italy, covering picturesque locales such as Venice, Lake Como, and the Amalfi Coast, where key romantic and action portions with Roshan and Advani were filmed. The film’s climactic scenes were shot at Film City and YRF Studios in Mumbai, with renowned international action choreographers adding finesse to the final moments.

The final leg of the shoot wrapped up this month with a grand dance sequence featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, choreographed by Bosco Martis. Featuring over 500 background dancers, the song was previously delayed due to Roshan’s leg injury but was successfully completed, marking the official wrap of the production.

Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, War 2 continues the legacy of the blockbuster Spy Universe, following the success of War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. With a star-studded cast, globe-trotting visuals, and high-stakes action, War 2 is being positioned as one of India’s biggest action spectacles of 2025.

Details regarding promotional campaigns, teaser, and trailer launches are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Uppu Kappurambu Falls Flat Despite Keerthy Suresh’s Effort

Share

Keerthy Suresh has carved out a solid career by choosing roles that showcase both her versatility and depth—from National Award-winning performances like Mahanati to crowd-pleasing commercial films. But her latest release, Uppu Kappurambu, feels like a step sideways, if not backwards.

The film opens on an awkward note and unfortunately, never quite finds its rhythm. The core premise—centered around limited graveyard space and family tradition—had the potential to evolve into a quirky social satire or an emotionally resonant tale. Instead, it gets buried under forced humor, underwhelming writing, and flat executi nbon.

Keerthy’s character feels misplaced in the larger scheme of things. She attempts exaggerated comic timing and expressive antics, but the lack of strong writing makes her performance feel strained rather than natural. It’s not that she can’t pull off lighter roles—she’s proven otherwise—but here, the material gives her little to work with.

Suhas, an actor who’s recently been associated with offbeat and engaging roles, also struggles to rise above the confused screenplay. His presence brings moments of sincerity, but even he can’t rescue the film from its identity crisis. The emotional subplots, which could’ve added some much-needed depth, remain underdeveloped and glossed over.

The film also raises questions about the curation standards of streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video. Having big names and an unusual premise isn’t enough. Uppu Kappurambu seems like a project greenlit for novelty, but without a solid creative foundation to back it up. It’s a reminder that even talented actors need to align with scripts that understand their strengths.

In the end, Uppu Kappurambu squanders a promising idea and a talented cast, offering neither laughs nor impact. Hopefully, the team behind it—and the platforms supporting such projects—will see this as a learning moment and aim for better cohesion between concept, writing, and execution in future endeavors.
