Naga Babu Compares Lokesh To Comedian Relangi

Share

Naga Babu has taken pot shots at Nara Lokesh. Comparing Lokesh with comedian Relangi, Naga Babu said Lokesh’s comedy is the best. He said even Jabardasth comedy is not enough in front of Lokesh’s comedy. Naga Babu also made severe comments on CM Chandrababu Naidu. Naga Babu alleged that Chandrababu Naidu is “mentally instable”.

Speaking at a press conference in Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district, Nagababu also criticized YS Jagan. He even criticized YCP’s MP candidate Raghurama Krishnam Raju and called him as “Betting Bangaru Raju”.He alleged that TDP’s Shiva Rama Raju is responsible for water pollution due to his aqua business.

KCR follows astrologers advise on elections: Modi

Share

Mocking his religious beliefs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has targeted Telangana CM KCR. Modi kick-started the election campaign and as part of it, he toured Mahbubnagar on Friday. In his speech Modi took pot-shots at KCR and added that fearing Modi’s waves KCR went for assembly polls early.

“KCR has the habit of relying on astrologers and they have advised him not to go for assembly and Lok Sabha elections simultaneously. Because it would bring bad results to KCR and his party. Astrologers have said Modi’ star is going to work in April and May months. So KCR has called early assembly elections,” said Modi. He questioned who will decide the future of Telangana, the people or the astrologers.

Modi further criticised KCR for not implementing central government schemes in Telangana such as housing for all and Aayushman Bharat which provides health to the poor. “About one crore people have their own houses now. How many did KCR give in Telangana? Like so KCR is obstructing many schemes that can benefit the poor and under privileged,” added the PM. Then Modi appealed to the people to vote for BJP candidates for a stronger government in the national capital.

‘Pasupu Kumkuma’ From TDP, ‘Mangalsutra’ From BJP

Share

Indian women often have to follow many rituals and traditions in India, mostly linked to their religious practices. Cashing in on this are political parties in the country which have named welfare schemes after some of these traditional practices.

Given that women voters are a crucial populace and generally become the key deciders of a political party’s fate, most of the political parties ensure that their schemes are women-focussed. This election season seems to be all about an increased focus on women voters.

Focussing on women empowerment and financial independence, the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh has named its scheme “Pasupu Kumkuma”, signifying the divinity of turmeric and vermilion in Hindu religious practices. Pasupu Kumkuma are given to the women in every household, as a tradition, blessing them a long and happily married life.

In this case, the government’s Pasupu Kumkuma scheme provides financial assistance to women in Self-help groups apart from also providing them smartphones, for technological advancement. On the other hand, the AP government also performs “baby shower” rituals in a traditional way for pregnant women in the state under a similar scheme.

While TDP names its scheme after a traditional Hindu practice, the BJP’s manifesto promises to give mangalsutras to newly married brides. The saffron party’s manifesto includes this traditional ornament which is worn by every married woman, as a sign of her nuptials. In the past, some parties have promised free sarees and doled them out, while some are even providing marriage expenses.

While political parties have penetrated deep and are even taking over important occasions in their lives to woo them, the real question is that do women need such ritualistic practices or do they need real empowerment schemes that uplift them?

Everyday Politics To Stop Pawan Kalyan’s Helicopter

Share

Of course, there is no coverage of Pawan Kalyan on mainstream media and media folks that promote particular channels do ignore him everywhere. Only web media and social media are buzzing a lot about Janasena. While media is like that, now political witch hunting is also in place, says Janasena folks.

Apparently, Pawan Pawan Kalyan is said to be seeing stars every day when it comes to getting permissions for his helicopter to fly off. There is a rumor that aviation officials in Delhi are rejecting the permissions to Pawan’s chopper to land in various places of Rayalseema though they have no objection for YS Jagan’s chopper to do the same.

A Janasena leader alleged that BJP-controlled aviation officials are preventing Pawan Kalyan from going to places where YS Jagan has a bit of advantage. Because YSRC cadres are worried that if Pawan questions about Viveka’s death strongly, then the whole vote banks might be pushed into thinking about voting for Jagan as he is always rumored to be backing bloodshed politics.

However, Pawan Kalyan made his own ways to reach various places in Rayalaseema and he’s breaking Rayalaseema folks into splits by asking even Chandrababu and Jagan to vote for him in the upcoming election.

Share

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and American singer Nick Jonas’ wedding was all over the media in India and the US in Dec 2018. Right from their engagement in Aug 2018 in Mumbai to their wedding in Jodhpur, Rajasthan was the talking point. Now after 117 days of married life, rumours are rife that the couple are not happy with each other and may head for divorce.

OK!, a British tabloid magazine, has reported that the couple is “falling out of love” as they get to know each other closely. The magazine has quoted an anonymous source who said that the couple is “fighting” about “each and everything” – be it “work” or “partying” or “spending time together”. The report said the couple’s marriage is “hanging by a thread”.

The report further said Nick was shocked to learn about the “controlling side” of Priyanka. As per the source, Nick had thought Priyanka was “cool and easy going” before their wedding, but he had later observed her “temper.”

The media report said Nick’s family (Jonas family) was also unhappy with Priyanka and wants the “relationship to be ended.” According to the source quoted by Ok!, Jonas family had thought Priyanka was “mature woman who was ready to settle down and have kids,” but they now feel she is a “party girl” who “acts like she is 21.” The media report also claimed that the duo is “covering-up” their differences.

Nick Jonas had dated many in the past. He had dated fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus from June 2006 to Dec 2007. Nick was later involved in a relationship with Selena Gomez in 2008, who appeared in his band music video for “Burnin’ Up”. Nick further started dating Olivia Culpo in 2013. They ended their relationship in 2015 after nearly two years of dating. Finally, Nick proposed to Priyanka Chopra in London on her birthday on July 18, 2018. Since then, things flew and the duo got married “so quickly”.

Nick and Priyanka Chopra were engaged in Aug 2018 in a Punjabi Roka ceremony held in Mumbai. Later, the couple got married in December 2018 at Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan in a traditional Hindu and Christian ceremonies. Both the families have approved the couple’s love and actively took part in their wedding.

Let’s hope the couple will overcome their differences and continue their marriage.

While shooting for it, the show’s judge Geeta Kapur asked co-judge Shilpa the secret behind her successful married life, read a statement from Sony Entertainment Television.Shilpa replied: “It’s important to have the relationship of friendship in any relationship. I think Raj and I never feel that we are tied to this relationship of marriage.

So, we don’t want to feel that burden that we are together just because we are in a marriage,” she added. She thinks most marriages fall apart because “they think they have some pressure so touchwood, that’s not there between us”.

Helping each other as a couple is important for her.

It’s our 10th year now… It’s important to grow in any relationship, be it between friends, siblings or partners, otherwise you outgrow the relationship. “It’s very important for me that I learn from every relationship that I have with people and I have learnt a lot of things from Raj and even you have to keep upgrading yourself,” she shared.

Maharshi & Chitralahari: Shall We Say He’s Back?

Share

In recent times, many film lovers got disappointed by him due to his poor compositions as he is known for coming up with either foot tapping numbers or soul-stirring songs. Yes, we are talking about composer Devi Sri Prasad.

Except for a couple of songs and that hard-hitting background music in Rangasthalam, other albums of DSP that have come after that flick are a bit disappointed we have to say. Say it Bharat Ane Nenu, Hello Guru Prema Kosame, Vinaya Vidheya Rama or F2, only a song or two made it to the chartbusters. Earlier it used to be like the whole of DSP’s album used to give that thrill to music lovers.

However, some music lovers are saying that the song Glassmates from Chitralahari and Choti Choti Baatein from Maharshi are going to be a big boost to DSP’s fans. Because the two songs are said to be funky and also carrying the soul required to impress everyone.

We have to see if DSP will bounce back big time when it comes to delivering hits with these two movies, while he has half-a-dozen films in his kitty already.

Balakrishna, A Liability For TDP!

Share

Nandamuri Balakrishna, son of Telugu Desam Party founder and legendary actor N T Rama Rao, has turned out to be a big headache for the party, which is presently headed by his brother-in-law and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Balakrishna’s arrogant attitude towards people and media, his loose tongue and his incoherent speeches have made him a big liability for Naidu, who is struggling to retain power for a second successive term due to stiff competition from YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

On Thursday, when media persons covering Naidu’s public meeting at Vijayawada which was attended by Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, came with helmets on their head, Naidu was terribly embarrassed.

The reason was obvious: the previous day, Balakrishna abused and slapped a reporter of Mojo TV during his campaign at Hindupur in Anantapur district.

Several TDP leaders at Naidu’s rally are learnt to have commented before the media that despite being NTR’s son, Balakrishna was no asset for the party but instead had become a liability.

“The party has to pay heavy penalty for the goofs-up made by Balakrishna. But there is nothing that we can do, as Balakrishna doesn’t listen to anybody; even to Naidu,” a TDP leader said.

It is a different matter that Balakrishna later apologised to media persons for his “behaviour” but sought to defend his action.

He said he thought some miscreants were trying to push children in their eagerness to shoot his rally and hence had become angry. There are no takers for his statement, though.

Niharika Started Her First Phase Of Campaigning

Share

We has revealed well in advance that both Varun Tej and Niharika will be campaigning for their dad Nagababu who is contesting on Janasena ticket for Narsapuram MP constituency. And now, Niharika has started her first phase of promotion and will be soon joining the cadres at Bhimavaram.

What is that first phase of promotion anyway? Without taking the name of Pawan Kalyan or Janasena party other day Niharika has given an entry into Jabardasth to promote her latest movie, today’s release Suryakantham. Apparently, the mega siren has turned up in Gabbar Singh getup, holding an empty tea glass in her hand.

As she flaunted that tea glass to all, it’s a clear indication that she is asking everyone to vote for Janasena. While all the sections of audiences that love Janasena are not going to like this, surely this is a stunner pulled by Niharika in the show.

And recently she confirmed that after the film’s release she will join her father in the campaigning blaze in Narasupram constituency.

Dil Raju’s Bollywood Debut Confirmed!!

Share

Ace producer Dil Raju is going places these days with his choice of films. He started off 2019 on a bang even though he pitted his F2: Fun and Frustration against legends like NTR Kathanayakudu and Vinaya Vidheya Rama. On that note, he’s now venturing into Bollywood too.

Reportedly the Telugu producer didn’t sell the rights of his super blockbuster F2 but he is now going to become co-producer of the film in Hindi, thereby making his Bollywood debut. Along with Boney Kapoor, now Dil Raju will remake F2 with a huge star-cast in Hindi, with Anees Bazmi being picked as the director of the film.

Reports are coming that they will be meeting Akshay Kumar to play the role of Venkatesh, while Arjun Kapoor is most likely to reprise the role of Varun Tej. Anyway, with Dil Raju going to Bollywood, we have to see if he will also score a mega hit like Allu Arvind whose last film Ghajini created many new clubs in Hindi hinterlands when it comes to box-office revenues.

I Don’t Know That’s Compliment Or Insult, Says Samantha

Share

Today it happens to be the release of Samantha’s latest film. No, her “Majili” with husband Chay is getting released on April 5th, but her recent Tamil movie “Super Deluxe” has hit cinemas today.

Quite surprisingly Samantha played the role of a vamp in this flick, where she gets into an affair with someone after her husband stands to ignore her. Then she conspires with her paramour to murder her husband. And the first reaction of some audiences and critics has surprised Samantha big time.

Apparently, with a comment coming out that Samantha should just retire from films because she has delivered her career’s best performance in Super Deluxe, the actress got stunned. “I don’t know if I’ve to take that as a compliment or insult” she felt, over those comments.

Featuring Vijay Sethupathi in a transgender’s role and the likes of Ramya Krishna and Faahad Fassil in other crucial roles, Super Deluxe is being termed as epic by many critics, but we have to see what general audiences will say.

Lakshmi NTR : Review

Share

The last phase of NTR’s life has been omitted from the biopic made by Balakrishna and Krish for obvious reasons. So Ram Gopal Varma jumped into cash in on the sensational and most controversial phase of NTR’s life in Lakshmi’s NTR.

What is it about?

Rama Rao (Vijay Kumar) is dejected after the defeat in 1989 polls and then enters Lakshmi Parvathi (Yagna Shetty) into his life in the name of writing his biography. They develop a bonding and decide to marry that doesn’t go well with Rama Rao’s children and son in law Babu (Sri Tej). Rest of the film is about how Babu plots a conspiracy to grab the ‘Mana Desam’ party from Rama Rao that eventually leads to the demise of the actor cum politician.

Performances:

Vijay Kumar appears like a stage artist and couldn’t do justice to the NTR character. He appears pale and dull in long shots that the directors purposefully shot close ups to make him appear like Rama Rao. Actor Sri Tej is very impressive as Babu and Yagna Shetty is overly dramatic portraying Lakshmi Parvathy’s role.

Technicalities:

Ram Gopal Varma’s mark is present in the scenes showing the power of NTR. He also did well in portraying the negative shades of Babu just by camera angles. However, too much focus on the so called love story of Rama Rao and Lakshmi turns out to be a big headache for viewers. Ram Gopal Varma blatantly made this film with one-sided view point showing Lakshmi Parvathi as the true admirer of NTR and victim of a political conspiracy.

Production values are pretty ordinary. Camera angles are innovative in few scenes but the music is pretty loud. There are many songs that are absolutely needless. None of the songs are catchy too. Editing is not up to the mark with many scenes dragging for no real purpose.

Thumbs Up:

Few scenes showcasing the conspiracy behind NTR’s fall

Thumbs Down:

One sided take on NTR’s last phase

Unnecessary songs

Dragging scenes

Excessive Drama

Analysis:

Ram Gopal Varma has been stressing that Lakshmi’s NTR is a truthful take on the late legendary leader’s life and his second marriage. However, anyone could say that he has inclined fully towards Lakshmi Parvathy to showcase NTR’s family members and especially Chandra Babu as the villain. Ram Gopal Varma deliberately tried to showcase that the love between Rama Rao and Lakshmi Parvathy is eternal and pure.

There is not a single scene where Lakshmi Parvathy appears to be cashing in on the image of NTR’s wife. She remains ‘Sathi Savitri’ from the beginning to the end. RGV went on to create sympathy on her by focusing camera on her after NTR’s death. She is seen pushed away by everyone and is left behind the crowd when her ‘husband’ dies. RGV shows that it was NTR who proposed to marry her and he was the one who asked her to join him for the canvassing.

Chandra Babu is shown like a cold blooded villain who had plotted everything to snatch the party and CM post from his father in law. There are a few unintentionally funny scenes that depicts the romance of Rama Rao and Lakshmi. RGV does a fine job in choosing the actors for key roles. He did well in filming the scenes that lead to the Viceroy incident and after. However, the drama towards the end highlighting the plight of Lakshmi Parvathi has gone overboard.

Hardcore haters of Chandra Babu may enjoy the film for obvious reasons. But as a film it is yet another mediocre effort from Ram Gopal Varma who just focused on making it a propaganda film rather sticking to the facts and without taking sides. The story is about Lakshmi’s NTR, but it turned out to be Ram Gopal Varma’s glorification of Lakshmi Parvathy.

Verdict: RGV’s Lakshmi!
