Why ballot voting inevitable in Nizamabad
Telangana CM KCR’s daughter Kalwakuntla Kavitha who is expecting to win the Nizamabad Lok Sabha for the second time, has a tough road ahead. Before 2014 elections, she promised to the farmers in the district for the establishment of a turmeric board. As she missed her promise, people especially the farmers are upset.
Not just this, the minimum support price (MSP) to red jowar is not fulfilled. Angered over delivering the promises, the farmers especially the turmeric farmers have filed nomination for the Lok Sabha seat against Kavitha. On the last day about 182 farmers have filed nomination and the number could have been higher if the police had not restricted.
So far about 245 candidates have registered the names for Nizamabad Lok Sabha and keeping the number in the mind, this election might be held to ballot as EVMs have fixed number of options. If this happens the votes would certainly split and become a threat to Kavitha in all sorts. March 28th is the last date to take back their nomination and if that doesn’t happen, KCR’s daughter is in all troubles.
Also there is said to be tension in Kavitha’s camp. Many leaders are holding negotiations but farmers are heard to be adamant and are taking no chances this time.
Then Bandla, Now KA Paul
Bandla Ganesh’s comedy was superhit in Telangana elections. Actor and T-Congress leader Bandla Ganesh had made tall claims that Congress would sweep the polls in Telangana. He had even claimed that he would cut his throat if Congress doesn’t come to the power. His statements, his interviews and his campaign had evoked a lot of laughs and a lot of response from people and political rivals.
In the same fashion, KA Paul is making similar humour in AP election campaign. KA Paul claiming that his political party Praja Shanti Party would sweep the polls. He stated that he will win as Narsapuram MP by defeating Janasena’s Naga Babu, YCP’s Raghurama Krishnam Raju, TDP’s Venkata Siva Rama Raju.
KA Paul stated that even the votes of candidates of Opposition parties and their families will be for Praja Shanti Party. He said YCP’s Raghurama Krishnam Raju will also vote for ‘Helicopter’, the election symbol of his political party.
In humour, KA Paul has beaten Bandla Ganesh for sure. KA Paul’s comedy is now being enjoyed by the people of Narsapuram. And media is chasing Paul for his interviews, bytes to gather views.

It is a very good date as it will have ample time to cash in on the summer holidays. However, Dear Comrade will face stiff competition from Surya’s NGK that is also slated for release on the same day.
Although Surya has been struggling of late, NGK is riding on high expectations as it is directed by ace director Selva Raghavan. NGK also is aiming for pan South-India release on May 31.
It may not affect on the openings of Telugu version of Dear Comrade, but it will surely eat into its business in other states.

He is called ‘Power Star’ of Telugu cinema and today he spoke about the ‘power’ he has in politics. Say it cinematic or topline punches during election campaigns, Pawan Kalyan is surely making his crowds go cheering for him with his one lines at the public meetings.
Touring Nellore as part of the election campaign, today the Janasena supremo made some interesting comments on YSR Congress. At one point he said, “To stop the FAN, we have the POWER that would unplug their candidates. YSRC MLA candidates are not merely candidates but they are a betting mafia. Go and play cards at clubs, why do you need politics” said Pawan Kalyan.
Every single line of Pawan has pushed his cadres into quite a joy and they shouted, whistled and clapped for his histrionics all the time. Another interesting comment Pawan made is that “All these YSRC candidates have earlier claimed that they are my fans. I told them to leave the betting business to claim as my fans”
Seems like Pawan is going quite harder on Jagan, giving not even a gap for YSR Congress folks to respond. We have to see what they will say about Janasena supremo’s words.
Another Wicket Down: Sr Director Starts Jagan Bhajana
Just a year ago, senior director and producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja who is considered to be a respectable gentleman in Telugu Film Industry has heaped praises on Pawan Kalyan in his YouTube videos. And then he attended Telugu Desam’s Dharma Porata Deeksha in April last year to praise Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts to develop Andhra Pradesh. So what now?
After how Posani Krishnamurali, Chinni Krishna and Kona Venkat started batting for YS Jagan by giving their first ever (and the only possible) interviews to Sakshi Paper over politics, now Tammareddy also started blasting Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan. “Chandrababu bluffed AP people with incomplete capital Amaravathi, Polavaram Project and others. He’s still promising fake schemes for AP people and copying original ideas of Jagan’s YSRC” says Tammareddy.
He attacked Chandrababu saying that the AP CM has grabbed MLAs from YSR Congress party and also for spending crores of rupees on world tours where Nara Lokesh and Naidu intended to bring foreign investments to AP. “While the likes of YSR implemented those promises that are not given by them during polls, Naidu is not even implementing the ones he promised” he mocks.
But YS Jagan? “There is a belief that if YS Jagan comes to power, he will rule like his father and bring that golden period back to Andhra Pradesh”. And without taking Pawan’s name, he added, “Hardly cinema heroes could become CMs by starting a new political outfit. That’s impossible. And film industry always travels with the ones who won and formed the government”.
Wonder what made Tammareddy join the Jagan Bhajana gang now, is what netizens are saying, as they felt he’s being honest about TDP and Pawan earlier.

Objections over Nara Lokesh’s nomination
The local returning officer has raised objections over Mangalagiri TDP candidate, Nara Lokesh. The returning officer has claimed that the notary provided by Lokesh belongs to Krishna district which is not valid in Guntur district. Under Notary section 9, Lokesh’s nomination may not be accepted.
But as this issue was raised a day after the deadline for filing nomination had ended, Lokesh will get grace period. Accordingly the returning officer did give Lokesh 24 hours’ time to provide a fresh notary which falls under Guntur jurisdiction.
This is for the first time, Lokesh is contesting the elections and last week he filed his nomination. The Election Commission is currently busy with scrutinizing the nominations. March 28th is the last date for withdrawing the nominations. Lokesh is competing with YSRCP’s sitting MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
Social media main news source for young Indians
Online news generally and social media specifically have outpaced print as the main source of news among English-speaking young Indian news users, showed a new report.People over 35 still mix online and offline media to a great extent, according to the Oxford University’s Reuters Institute India Digital News Report.
While more than half of respondents in the study reported getting news from social media, a quarter identified social media as their main source of online news. Facebook and WhatsApp are particularly widely used, with 75 per cent of respondents using Facebook (and 52 per centsaying they get news there), and 82 per cent using WhatsApp (with 52 per cent getting news there).
Other social media widely used for news include Instagram, Twitter and Facebook’s Messenger – whereas Snapchat is much less widely used.
Based on data from a survey of English-speaking online news users in India, the study also showed that India has emerging as an overwhelmingly mobile-first, and for many mobile-only, media market.
Nearly 70 per cent of the respondents identified smartphones as their main device for online news.
The research showed that people in India have low trust in news overall (36 per cent). But they have higher levels of trust in news in search (45 per cent) and social media (34 per cent) than respondents in many other countries.
Nearly 60 per cent of users are worried whether online news they come across is real or fake.
More than half of the respondents said they fear openly expressing their political views online could get them into trouble with authorities, the study showed.
Another senior quits Cong to join TRS!
The Congress party in Telangana, which is on a weak footing following the desertion of several MLAs and senior leaders in the last one month, is set to receive yet another setback.Former minister and senior party leader from Medak Sunitha Laxma Reddy is learnt to have decided to resign from the party and join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi shortly.
According to party sources, Sunitha has already met TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and struck a deal for joining the TRS. In all probability, she will announce a formal decision by Monday evening.It appears the TRS leadership is hell-bent on decimating the Congress completely in Telangana.
Soon after the Lok Sabha elections, some more Congress MLAs are expected to make a beeline to Pragati Bhavan and the grand old party will be left with half a dozen MLAs in the assembly.If the Congress can win at least a couple of MP seats, it can regain its lost prestige at least to some extent.
But if the TRS wins all the 16 MP seats, the Congress will totally crumble, as many leaders, who are disgruntled with the style of functioning of present PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, are looking at the TRS as an alternative.
And the Congress party will soon get disintegrated, which is what KCR wants!
