Why KCR denied ticket to party floor leader in LS

Share

The TRS supreme KCR has been seeking victory in 16 LS segments in Telangana so that his party can gain the deciding power to elect the next government of India. But, Chief Minister KCR has taken a bold decision and changed three sitting MP candidates from his party. TRS was the last party to declare list of candidates, while BJP and Congress have already finalised their list.

Instead of Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, KCR has got TDP senior Nama Nageshwar into TRS and gave him the Khammam MP seat. Also, he replaced Sitaram Naik with Malothu Kavitha for Mahabubabad parliament segment. And the biggest setback has come for the senior leader and Mahaboobagar MP AP Jithendar Reddy, who was party’s floor leader in Lok Sabha from 2014. From last couple of days, a rumour was under the circulation that Reddy may be ignored ticket for this time and so, he is planning to join BJP. Some political analysts hinted that Mahaboobagar MLA Srinivas Goud submitted a report to KCR saying how he did not support him during the assembly polls.

Reacting about it, Jithendar Reddy said he can’t comment on why he was denied the party ticket and at the same time, exuded confidence that KCR will do justice to him in the days to come. He added, “If any MLA is upset with me, it’s up to them and I can make no comment about it. However, I have been maintaining good relationship with all the parties and will continue the same.”

Manne Srinivas Reddy, an industrialist, was given TRS party ticket for Mahaboobnagar Lok Sabha. The new entrant from the Congress DK Aruna, a former state minister and MLA, has joined BJP recently and she has been rewarded with Mahaboobagar parliament ticket.

Clash With #RRR: Superstar’s Bad Move Again

Share

While Rajamouli’s #RRR is set for July 30th, 2020 release date, now the likes of Salman Khan have announced that his Inshallah will be hitting cinemas on Eid 2020 which falls around the same date. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film has Alia Bhatt, the starlet of #RRR as well, in the leading role.

Bollywood trade pundits are opining that Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman should rethink the release date because clashing with a pan-India releasing film will not help them much. Both Salman and Bhansali earlier clashed similarly with other Bollywood biggies and lost big time.

Sultan, Tubelight, Tiger Zinda Hai and Race 3 are the recent films of Salman Khan where he appeared in the lead role. Guess what, while two became blockbusters, two became never-seen duds at the box office. More than the content, bad release planning affected Salman’s films’ prospects at theatres. So what would they do now?

Anyway, Bhansali takes huge time to wrap movies and it will not be as simple as that to come to fixation over the release date. Of course, Rajamouli is also a similar case. So let’s wait for July 2020 to finally know about the dates.

Rana Daggubati Is The New Political Star

Share

For mass heroes, the biggest problem is that they get typecast easily. But the real beauty lies in coming out of that cocoon and delivering something different. On that note, we have to say Baahubali star Rana Daggubati is surely going places.

Ever since Rana made his debut with Leader, there are many political stories that went to him. Quite surprisingly, whenever he played a politician on the silver screen, he got rousing applause. After Leader, we have Nene Raju Nene Mantri and NTR Biopic, where he donned political hat quite easily, and no doubt we could call him “Political Star” for that.

Reports are coming that in his upcoming film Virataparvam 1992 to be directed by Venu Udugulu of Needhi Naadhi Oke Katha fame, Rana will be playing the role of a politician once again. He is likely to appear as Panchayat Raj ward member, they say. It looks like the Political Star is continuing his legacy, isn’t it?

On the other hand, Sai Pallavi is likely to romance Rana in this movie, and sure we can say that the film will be a display of talents.

Immovable assets are valued Rs 40.81 crore while movable assets are worth Rs 12 crore. Pawan owes Rs 33,72,65,361 in the form of loans.

Will KCR’s silence on Naidu benefits Jagan?

Share

TRS chief and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has addressed two election meetings in Karimnagar and Nizambad in the last three days.

One thing that was clearly evident in these two meetings was KCR ignoring his AP counterpart and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in his hour-long speeches.

This is in sharp contrast to election meetings addressed by Naidu in AP where he is taking KCR to task and abusing him in all possible ways.

KCR never tolerated Naidu’s criticism against him earlier. KCR never lost any opportunity to give a fitting reply to either Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Naidu in the public meetings.

Strangely, this time, KCR is criticsing BJP and Congress leaders but maintaining complete silence on Naidu.

TRS party sources said KCR has been adopting ‘strategic silence’ on Naidu to benefit YSRCP in upcoming Assembly polls.

The Telangana intelligence reports and independent surveys commissioned by KCR are learnt to have revealed that if KCR attacks Naidu it will only benefit TDP and hit the prospects of YSRCP.

Even political strategist Prashanth Kishore, who too is very angry at Naidu, for calling him ‘Bihar dacoit’, reportedly advised KCR to desist from criticising Naidu as he will use it to flare of “Andhra emotions” by alleging nexus between YSRCP and TRS.

He reportedly told KCR that Naidu’s criticism on KCR helped TRS in December Assembly polls and if KCR attacks Naidu now, it will only help TDP.

KCR does not want to take any chances that would benefit TDP and hit YSRCP.

For this reason, KCR is dispalying unusual patience despite Naidu criticising him left, right and centre by terming KCR as a ‘servant’ who worked under him while he was in TDP.

KCR has decided to ignore Naidu’s criticism against him till AP pollling is completed on April 11.

It remains to be seen wheter KCR’s silence on Naidu will benefit Jagan or not in the upcoming AP elections.

Who will JD benefit: YSRC or TDP?

The entry of former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation V V Lakshminarayana into the fray for the ongoing general elections in Andhra Pradesh has made the contest interestingly poised.

Lakshminarayana, who took voluntary retirement from his IPS service, is contesting the Lok Sabha elections as Jana Sena Party candidate from Visakhapatnam parliamentary constituency.

Till his entry, the contest was only between YSR Congress party candidate M V V Satyanayana, a prominent builder and Telugu Desam Party candidate M V Sri Bharat, the youngest son-in-law of senior actor and TDP MLA from HIndupur Nandamuri Balakrishna.

While Satyanarayana enjoys tremendous support among the rural voters because of his philanthropic activities, Sri Bharat carries the goodwill of his late grandfather M V V S Murthy, former Visakhapatnam MP and founder of Gitam Group of Institutions. He is said to be a craze among the students.

Under these circumstances, Lakshminarayana entered the fray making it a virtual triangular fight. The former CBI JD is said to be enjoying the support of middle class and also new generation voters, who are looking for cleaner politics. So, he cannot be dismissed as a light weight.

At the same time, Jana Sena Party chief and power star Pawan Kalyan is also contesting from Gajuwaka, which falls under Visakhapatnam Parliamentary constituency. So, there would definitely be an impact of Pawan Kalyan on Lakshminarayana’s prospects.

It would result in a tough fight among the Jana Sena, YSRC and TDP. Though the victory of Lakshminarayana is unlikely because of his late entry into politics, his presence will definitely have bigger impact on the fortunes of TDP as well as YSRC.

It remains to be seen which of these two parties will benefit or face loss because of JD’s

Confusion in Jagan party over publicity!

Share

Those who have been watching television channels these days might have observed the publicity blitzkrieg by the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh, telling people as to why they should vote for the party.

Setting aside the debate over whether the TDP government headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had really done anything for the people or not, the TDP has been extensively propagating the welfare schemes and developmental works claimed to have been taken up in the last five years through these visual advertisements in the television channels.

Surprisingly, there has not been any such attempt from the YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy till date.

There have been no publicity films on the “Navaratnalu” (nine promises) announced by Jagan in the last one year. No such films are being telecast by the channels.

And with just two weeks left for the campaign, the party is seriously lagging behind the ruling TDP in the audio-visual campaign.

It is not that the party does not have any short films or television advertisements. The party has engaged a couple of popular film directors to make a few ad films, but they have not been telecast yet.

So, what is wrong? Enquiries revealed that there is no clarity as to who should take the responsibility of taking these videos and ad films into public.

The Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC), which is supposed to provide end-to-end solutions to the party including publicity campaign, has to do the job of producing the ad films and take them into public.

But it has not taken up the job, as it is learnt the task was entrusted to a team from Sakshi media group. However, this group has never bothered to take up the job as it is busy with something else. As a result, nobody is evincing interest in caring out visual publicity for the party.

Only some candidates of the party have been doing their own publicity campaign at their own cost!

Mohan Babu To Stage Dharna Against Naidu!

Share

In yet another embarrassment to the ruling Telugu Desam Party headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, senior actor Mohan Babu announced that he would stage a massive dharna in the temple town of Tirupati on Friday in protest against the denial of fee reimbursement to the students of his educational institutions.

Mohan Babu, once a Rajya Sabha member of the TDP, would sit on a dharna along with the thousands of students belonging to Sri Vidyaniketan Educational Institutions founded by him.

It would be definitely a negative development for Naidu ahead of the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, especially when his party is facing a tough contest in Tirupati.

For quite some time, Mohan Babu has been attacking Naidu government for failing to implement fee reimbursement scheme.

He alleged that Naidu was harassing the students of his institution by not reimbursing their tuition fees.

He alleged that the Naidu government had failed to settle the fee reimbursement dues and his institution was yet to get Rs 16 crore dues from the government until the 2018-19 academic year.

“During the academic years 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17, the state government failed to clear the fees reimbursement dues fully. They only offered a meagre amount and were treating us like beggars. Our institution is yet to get Rs 16 crore extending up to academic year 2018-19. There were several representations made but there is no response from the government end,” he said.

He recalled that during the regime of former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, there were no troubles in the implementation of the fee reimbursement scheme.

“Never had we faced such a problem as we have been facing during the TDP regime,” he said.

BJP ignores Dattatreya for Secunderabad constituency

Share

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party has ignored its senior leader and sitting MP Bandaru Dattatreya for Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency and instead fielded G. Kishan Reddy.

Dattatreya, also a former union minister, did not figure in the list of candidates announced by the BJP.

Secunderabad is among 10 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana for which the BJP declared its candidates.

Kishan Reddy, who tasted defeat in the recent Telangana Assembly elections, earlier served as the president of BJP’s state unit.

In 2014, Secunderabad was the only seat in Telangana won by the BJP. Dattatreya, who represented this constituency four times, was a Minister in the Modi government as well as earlier in Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

Congress leader and former minister D. K. Aruna, who joined the BJP on Wednesday, was named as the candidate from Mahabubnagar.

Other candidates are Ramachandra Rao (Malkajgiri), Bangaru Shruti (Nagarkurnool), Bandi Sanjay (Karimnagar), D. Aravind (Nizamabad), G, Jitendra Kumar (Nalgonda), P V Shyamsunder Rao (Bhongir), Chinta Sambamurthy (Warangal) and Hussain Naik (Mahabubabad).

Purandeswari to be BJP candidate from Vizag LS seat

Share

Amaravati: Former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari will be the BJP candidate from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency as the party decided not to field outgoing MP K. Haribabu from here.

Purandeswari is the daughter of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao. She was earlier elected from Visakhapatnam as Congress candidate in 2009.

The BJP announced candidates for two Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh in its first list released on Thursday.

Party’s state unit President Kanna Lakshminarayana was named as the candidate for Narasaraopet seat.

Clarity Comes on Pawan’s Educational Qualification

Visakhapatnam: Telugu actor and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan, who is making his electoral debut in next month’s Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls, has declared assets worth over Rs 52 crore.

The actor, who filed the nomination from Gajuwaka constituency in Visakhapatnam district on Thursday, also revealed that his liabilities were to the tune of Rs 33 crore.

Kalyan has shown his liabilities at over Rs 33 crore that include bank loans and personal loans from film personalities, production houses and family members.
