‘If Modi becomes PM again, No More Elections In India’
Likening Prime Minister Narendra Modi to China’s authoritarian regime under Mao and current Premier Xi Jingping, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said if Modi is elected as PM once again, India may have to tread the path as China or Russia.
“If we re-elect Modi, then I doubt if we will ever have elections in India. Chunav honge bhi, aur nahin bhi honge…jaise China, Russia mein hota hai (Elections will be held in the country or may be not, like what happens in China, Russia),” he said.
Stating that Democracy is in danger, Gehlot said that Modi could do anything to come back to power “It could even mean a war with Pakistan that India cannot afford at this stage,” he said. Elaborating on Modi’s publicity blitz, he said Modi is a great actor and he is a master at marketing false promises to people of India. “If Modi was in Bollywood, he would have made a mark within India and globally too, with his oratory and acting skills,” he added.
Gehlot’s remarks come at a time the both the Congress and the BJP are trading barbs at each other with just a few days left for the Lok Sabha polls, beginning on April 11th. Reiterating that Congress and its allies will win the election this time, he said that people will eventually understand the falsehood that BJP is propagating.
Father and daughter battle for Aaraku MP seat
Every election is important for a politician. As the days are passing, many leaders are emerging and so it is making difficult for political parties to choose a suitable candidate for a constituency. Till date we have seen battle of brothers, cousins and others in election and now we are going to witness a fight between father and daughter.
It is Kishore Chandradev and his daughter Shruti Devi. Both are contesting for Aaraku Parliament seat. Kishore Chandradev recently joined Telugu Desam Party and also managed to get ticket while his daughter Shruti is contesting on behalf of Congress party. Kishore has been in Congress for decades and post AP bifurcation, he remained silent and stayed away from party activities. Few days back, he resigned to Congress and stepped into TDP.
While Shruti followed her dad when in Congress and in the three last elections, she shouldered the responsibility of campaign on behalf of her father. However unlike father, Shruti remained in Congress and impressed by her loyalty, the party offered her ticket.
So the poll battle between in father and daughter is on. Who will won it? Dad has the edge but never underestimate Shruti who has good grip over Aaraku constituency.
Pawan In Two Places: Risky Move Or Calculated?
Ever since Pawan Kalyan announced that he will be contesting in two constituencies including Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka, there is huge criticism around the move. Many felt that the Janasena supremo will be unnecessarily wasting the money of people and time of Election Commission at one of those constituencies as they have to conduct a by-election if Pawan wins them both.
However, despite knowing the fact that it will be quite risky to face the comments of opposition if he contests in two places, why would have Pawan Kalyan preferred that move? In 2009 election, Megastar Chiranjeevi has made a swashbuckling entry with Praja Rajayam Party and then contested in two places, Tirupathi and Palakollu. But he lost at one place and that explains Pawan’s fear, isn’t it?
Back then, Kapu party dominated Pallakollu lost sheen in the stroke of politics as there are reports that both TDP and Congress candidates colluded with each other to make sure that Chiranjeevi will be defeated. But in Tirupathi, the fanbase of Megastar is so strong that he hasn’t lost the bet. Anticipating similar political conspiracies, Pawan might have felt that he couldn’t just go with one place and hence the two constituencies.
Who Is The Showstopper From Nandamuri Family?
Just in five years time, a lot of things have changed for the Nandamuri family heroes, when it comes to films. And now, they have to find their new showstopper to promote the Telugu Desam party in some constituencies.
Way back in 2014 elections, while Nandamuri Balakrishna campaigned for himself and for a couple of others, Jr NTR hasn’t turned up in the campaigning as usual since his last appearance in 2009. And then, the showstopper of the Nandamuri family at that time is Nara Rohit. With hit films and in great form, he has that time toured in some places to promote Telugu desam party.
And now in 2019, while Balayya will campaign for himself again, who is going to become that showstopper who is not contesting but promoting TDP? While Nara Rohit is out of the scene this time, it looks like Jr NTR has no mood to do that even after a decade long gap from his first ever campaign.
The new star from Nandamuri family who got the latest craze is Kalyan Ram. So, will he come for campaign this time Or will he never appear like the way he has never appeared at his sister’s election campaign in Kukatpally? Let’s see.
Viveka’s Daughter Press Meet on Father’s Murder
YS Vivekananda Reddy’s brutal murder has raised the temperature of state politics and it has become a political issue with both ruling and opposition parties leveling allegations against one another. While the SIT appointed by the state government is probing the matter at brisk speed, YS Viveka’s daughter YS Sunitha has called for a press conference to address on the issue.
In her first press conference briefing media, YS Sunitha said she is the only heiress to YS Vivekananda Reddy. She said she has been raised by her father with a lot of love and affection. She said her father YS Viveka had been busy with his public life. She said for him, “people were first and family were next”. Sunitha said YS Viveka had a great affinity toward the people of Pulivendula.
Talking about her father’s bone-chilling murder, Sunitha said she was aghast. She said various rumours, speculations aired in TV channels, published in newspapers have made her more upset. Calling for a thorough probe into her father’s murder, YS Sunitha demanded a stern action against the culprits who killed her father. Sunitha said she has been “hearing” a lot of “bad” propaganda against her slain father and she urged everyone to maintain calm, composure. “Please show him the respect that you show to him when he was alive. My sincere request to all people, politicians, media out there,” said YS Sunitha.
YS Sunitha asked why the people who sit above the SIT are jumping to conclusions even before the SIT’s investigation into her father’s murder is done. Responding to Chandrababu Naidu’s allegation that the murder happened within the family, Viveka’s daughter Sunitha responded gently. She said YS family has people from different walks of life, different castes, cultures, religions and she said all have learnt to live together despite the differences of opinions and diversified backgrounds.
“We learnt to live with each other. We respect each other. Just because we have difference of opinion, does that mean we kill each other?,” said YS Sunitha. She added that one needs maturity to understand this and she criticized that those who lacks the maturity are making such comments. She said each year all the family gathers and spends time. She said the family has already met twice in the last 3 or 4 months. She said YS family is a “cohesive” family.
YS Sunitha said it was her father’s dream to see YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister. Hence she asked everyone to put a full stop to spreading ‘maligning’ rumours about her family.
On the whole, YS Sunitha addressed the media with a lot of composure. She handled all the questions with a lot of grace. While she speaks with confidence, one could see the pain in her voice and heart about her father’s unnatural death. She said she will wait for the SIT to complete its probe into her father’s death and asked one and all to maintain restraint.

Behind The Scene: Learning the ropes
Bothsa Satyanarayana, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, Raghurama Raju, Butta Renuka etc, etc. All these politicians at one point of time or the other had criticized YS Jagan vehemently and quit his Party.
If something like this had happened in 2014 or after that, there was no way that Jagan would have welcomed them back into his Party. But, in taking them back now, he has clearly matured as a politician and learnt to keep his ego aside in the best interests of the Party.
There are many YSRCP hard-core supporters who feel that Jagan has made a mistake in readmitting them.
However, the reality is that these people need to be entertained owing to various reasons such as their caste, financial clout etc.
India is a country where a man accused of rape, murder or other heinous crimes may contest the election and still win simply because his community will vote for him or her irrespective of their reputation. Or, they may have enough money to sway the election in their favour.
YS Jagan has realised this fact and in doing so, has proved that he is acquiring all the necessary attributes to emerge as a successful politician.

Uttam for LS polls shows Cong weakness!
The decision of the Congress high command to field Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy from Nalgonda in the parliament elections to be held on April 11 shows how weak the party is in Telangana.Apparently, the Congress party could not find a stronger candidate to fight the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, which has grabbed majority of the assembly segments in Nalgonda.
The party has only Uttam among the seven assembly segments under this parliamentary constituency. The only other Congress MLA – Chirumarthi Lingaiah from Nakrekal also joined the TRS recently.Though the party thought of fielding defeated MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, he did not evince much interest in Nalgonda. Instead, he preferred to move to Bhongir, where the Congress has considerable strength.
Moreover, his brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy’s assembly constituency Munugode comes under Bhongir parliamentary constituency. Secondly, Bhongir was earlier represented by Rajagopal Reddy.Uttam’s name was among the eight names announced by the high command on Monday night. In the first list released on Friday night, too, the party announced eight names.
However, Uttam is said to be not very much interested in contesting the Lok Sabha polls, because Nalgonda is not an easy seat to win and he has to pump in more money.Secondly, if he loses the MP elections, it would bring down his image completely. Moreover, he is already an MLA from Huzurnagar.
“He told the high command that even if he wins the Nalgonda MP seat, the party cannot retain Huzurnagar assembly seat in the by-elections, as KCR is an expert in grabbing seats in the by-elections. He wants to continue in the state to save the party at a time when the MLAs are deserting it one after the other,” he told the high command.
But since there are no other takers, the high command insisted that Uttam should contest the MP elections. Even if he loses the polls, he has no problem, as he can continue as an MLA.
Sai Dharam Tej Goes Pawan Kalyan’s Way
Megastar’s nephew Sai Dharam Tej has been going through lean phase as an actor from a long time. It has been a while since his film clicked at the box office.Last three films of SDT were forgettable duds with miniscule theatrical revenues. He has pinned lot of hopes on Chitralahari to resurrect his career.
Meanwhile, Sai Dharam Tej has gone for a name change and dropped ‘Dharam’ from his name in the hope of finding luck.It is not new for mega heroes to go for a name change. Pawan Kalyan was introduced as Kalyan Babu and later became Pawan Kalyan starting from Gokulamlo Seetha.
Ram Charan Tej dropped Tej from his name before his introduction to screen with Chirutha.Sai Dharam Tej took a long time to go for name change though. In fact he had found success and established himself with his original name, but somehow lost track in the middle.
Will the change in name change the fortunes of this mega lad?
