I Know War Will Come Just Before Elections: Pawan Kalyan

Share

Following the Indian Air Force’s surgical strikes on the Pakistan supported terror camps in the POK and the subsequent retaliation by Pakistan, there has been a war like situation across the border. Citizens of both countries are observing the events unfold with bated breath.

But, here is actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan who says that he knew that the Indo-Pak war will definitely take place just before the upcoming general elections. “I was told 2 years back that a war will definitely take place just before the elections. So you can understand how things are,” Pawan said during his ongoing tour in Kadapa.

Pawan’s superficial revelation has witnessed severe criticism on social media. “If you had any credible information, why didn’t you alert the government or the intelligence beforehand?,” asked a netizen. Many are of the opinion that celebs and politicians must act responsibly and refrain from making such fly on the wall statements especially when there is a tense and war-like situation across the border.

Where Is KA Paul? Asks Netizens!

Share

A couple of days ago, this evangelist cum political leader has given an official statement: “I spoke to Trump, and advised Modi as well about the things he has to do. Then I spoke to Khan as well saying that going for war is not the solution. Only a couple of phone calls from me will stop the war”, said KA Paul, the president of the Praja Shanti Party.

In the wake of these comments, those who don’t believe and will not get carried away by Paul’s comments are also asking why he hasn’t made those phone calls now. Now that our Wing Commander was caught by Pak Army and both the nations are at loggerheads over the same, isn’t it KA Paul’s responsibility to call up his friend Trump and others to take immediate action?

It’s easy to make comments on the political platform and more easier to sling mud at others. But when something happens for real, standing up and delivering the needs are the most challenging things. If KA Paul is a serious politician and wants to do something for Telugu folks or the whole of India, this is the time he has to show his true potential. So, where is KA Paul now?

MLC for Ashok Babu: Will employees vote for TDP?

Share

For quite some time, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been going all out to woo nearly 5.50 lakh employees in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state.

He has provided all the facilities for employees who moved from Hyderabad to Amaravati; gave them a five-day week; increased their retirement age from 58 to 60; gave them an additional increment to overcome the problems of bifurcation; arranged special accommodation from women employees etc.

Very recently, he announced handsome interim relief pending the submission of pay-revision commission report.

And on Thursday, Naidu admitted former AP NGOs Association president Ashok Babu into Telugu Desam Party and gave him the MLC ticket under MLAs’ quota, in an obvious move to appease the employees.

At the same time, Naidu has sought to appease Kapu community by giving the MLC seat to Ashok Babu, who took voluntary retirement form the post of Assistant Commercial Tax Officer to join active politics.

Apparently, Naidu is of the hope that even if four lakh employees and their family members vote for the TDP, he would get at least 16-17 lakh votes, which will make a huge difference for the party in the event of a tough contest.

NTR’s FIL Says Naidu Unfit To Rule!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be getting isolated within his family for his attempt to promote his own son Nara Lokesh at the cost of others.

His close relatives and acquaintances are joining Naidu’s rival camp – YSR Congress party one after the other. His co-brother Daggubati Venkateshwara Rao and his son Hitesh Chenchuram formally joined the YSRC in the presence of party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Hyderabad on Thursday.

At the same time, another close relative Narne Srinivasa Rao also met Jagan and joined the party. Narne’s wife Naga Mallika is the niece of Naidu and his daughter Lakshmi Pranathi got married to Junior NTR with the blessings of Naidu.

Narne said he had joined the YSRC because he was impressed with the leadership of Jaganmohan Reddy.

“I have been maintaining good relationship with the YSR family for 10 years. And my only ambition is to see Jagan as the chief minister of AP,” he said.

He took pot shots at Naidu to defend his entry into the YSRC.

“Naidu has miserably failed to provide leadership to the state. The administration has collapsed under Naidu’s regime,” he said and asserted that development of the state was possible only under the leadership of Jagan.

It is learnt Narne has requested for the YSRC ticket for Pedakurapadu assembly seat. But he told media that he had joined the party unconditionally.

“Wherever the party president asks me to contest, I will contest. Even if I don’t get the party ticket, I don’t mind,” he said.

While Narne clarified that his joining the YSRC had nothing to do with his son-in-law Jr NTR, he parried a question whether he would request his son-in-law to campaign for him.

Pic Talk: She Is Back To The Bikini Teasing

Her films might be coming late and big chances are yet to fall in her kitty, but she knows it quite well when it comes to playing the social media game. And if she starts teasing, no doubt everyone has to stop the work in hands and freeze at her beauty.

Despite the fact that Summer temperatures are already picking up, it looks like spicy siren Dishan Patani has decided to bring the hot feel much in advance. Like usual, she has slipped into her favorite Calvin Klein beach wear yet again, this time giving a peek of her terrific curves in a varied way.

Flaunting her youthful looks and revisiting that ravishing sex appeal of her, Disha made sure that innocence in her face will bowl out many wickets while her crazy look is going to bring showers of pleasure for the eligible. Shining in that black two piece, she is actually chilling out by the pool it looks like.

The teasing might not stop any sooner, and one could see her in films alongside Salman Khan in “Bharat” very soon.

AP Politics: Caste Is The King!

Share

Caste factor has acquired importance in Andhra Pradesh’s politics after bifurcation. The paradox of modernity and democratic politics in India is that while they have contributed to weakening the caste system, they have reinforced group solidarities based on caste identity. Unfortunately, these growing caste-based groups in Andhra Pradesh are making the state more vulnerable to strife and causing harm to social cohesion.

Amidst this backdrop, the state will soon be witnessing Assembly as well as General Elections where political leaders in the state are using caste as their best opportunity and weapon to further divide voters. For instance: The YSR Congress recently held the BC Garjana meeting which was focussed on the party’s appeal to Backward Classes voters, who have primarily been the ruling Telugu Desam Party’s core votebank.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party has been focussing on garnering Kapu votes which proved to be crucial for its 2014 win in Andhra Pradesh. It went a step further by announcing that Kapus will be provided 5% reservation in the 10% quote announced for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) by the Government of India.

Challenging the Telugu Desam politically over Kapu votes is Jana Sena Party. The party, founded by Pawan Kalyan who belongs to the community, has primarily attracted Kapus and has emerged as a prominent “Kapu” party despite the party’s manifesto aiming to eliminate caste discrimination. Adding to this is the party’s popularity in the Godavari districts where Kapus are a dominant community.

Interestingly, Andhra Pradesh will soon be having another caste-based meeting – Yadava Garjana, in Guntur on March 3. Yadavas, who fall primarily in the BC category. This meeting of Yadavas has not only attracted Telangana Yadava leaders but also those from neighbouring states such as Karnataka. What this reflects is that Andhra Pradesh’s caste division has also given an opportunity to other state leaders to exploit its own people, allowing them to meddle with state politics.

Unfortunately, caste polarisation is at its peak this election season and if this continues to be the driving factor in the state’s politics, it could lead to law & order disturbance as well as puts lot of young lives at stake with frequent caste wars. The political class should wake up to this reality and present reforms that will free people from the influence of caste complexities and present them equal opportunities and access to resources.

Reel heroes to bring alive ‘war heroes’ on-screen

Actors like Sidharth Malhotra and Adivi Sesh will don the uniform to play Indian soldiers who fought for their country till their last breath.

Amidst the tension between India and Pakistan, actor-writer Adivi Sesh on Wednesday took to Twitter to share “major news”. He tweeted the first look of his upcoming film titled “Major”, based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a National Security Guards (NSG) commando who lost his life while fighting terrorists at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai in 2008.

The actor, who will play the lead in the Shashikiran Tikka directorial, called it his “dream project”.

The shooting will start later this year and it is scheduled to release in 2020.

Back in 2003, actor Abhishek Bachchan brought Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra to life in J.P. Dutta’s “LOC Kargil”. The army officer was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra — India’s highest gallantry award. Soon, Sidharth will be working on his biopic, directed by Vishnu Varadhan.

Talking about the film, Sidharth had said: “It is the toughest role of my life. I feel it is an emotional responsibility to play that character because the family of Vikram Batra felt that I can play his role so, it is a big responsibility to present their story on the big screen.”

Director Sriram Raghavan and producer Dinesh Vijan, on the other hand, have teamed up for a biopic on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for the courage he displayed during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war.

“When I heard the story of Arun Khetarpal, I was inspired. He is the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. What he did and the kind of life he lived was absolutely exemplary and unbelievable,” Vijan said in a statement.

He said it is a huge responsibility to make a film with such an inspirational message.

“Arun involves a lot of passion since we all are moved by it. We are doing our homework,” he added.

According to reports, director Srikanth Velagaleti will be making a biopic on Captain Saurabh Kalia, who was taken prisoner by the Pakistani intruders in 1999.

‘Stop asking actresses about their comebacks’

Share

Actress Madhuri Dixit Nene is looking forward to a time when actresses, post marriage or pregnancy, are not asked about when they would make a “comeback” to films.

“When a hero is away from a screen for a long time, no one asks him when he would be making a comeback, but actresses have to face this question, ‘When are you coming back in films?’ every single time.

“If actresses are not doing films for sometime, it’s their personal choice. Don’t constantly ask them about their return to showbiz or films. Like other people, our priorities also differ from time to time,” Madhuri told IANS here.

Be it during the time of her marriage with Shriram Madhav Nene in 1999 or after the birth of her sons Arin (2003) and Raayan (2005), Madhuri took a break from movies to devote time to her personal life.

She said: “I have been asked about my comeback so many times… I didn’t work for years and there was one mandatory comeback question always asked to me.

“I don’t know what to say about it, but now I hope this thing will change in future and there will be no more ‘comeback’ questions being imposed to working women.”

The 51-year-old took a break of five years after starring in 2002’s “Devdas”. In 2007, she came back on-screen with “Aaja Nachle” and then was away from films for seven years before featuring in “Gulaab Gang” in 2014.

She has just featured in the comedy entertainer “Total Dhamaal”.

Taking a break was very much a conscious decision for her.

“It was not that I took a complete break from the industry or was not associated with the industry… I was just not doing films for sometime. I was not really away from the industry for a long time. People just have a perception that I took a long break.

“I wanted to enjoy new phases of my life. I wanted to have kids, and apart from work, I have had other dreams for myself which I wanted to fulfill. I love my sons and I wanted to spend good quality time with them during their initial years. So after giving birth to my sons, I didn’t do films,” she added.

Having started her career in Bollywood with film “Abodh” in 1984, the “Dhak dhak” girl owns a huge body of work despite her sporadic appearances on-screen post-2000.

Not only films, she has featured in several reality TV shows as a judge. She was a part of shows like “Dance Deewane” and “Jhalak Dikhhla Ja”, owing to her flawless dancing skills.

Is Dil Raju Under Pressure?

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s next film Maharshi is announced for summer release but soon speculations started that the film is out of summer race. With some of the portions of shoot delayed and the film’s producer Dil Raju distributing Majili, Chitralahari and Jersey in April, he wanted to release Maharshi during May.

But Superstar Mahesh Babu reportedly issued an ultimatum to Dil Raju and director Vamshi Paidipally to wrap up the shoot at the earliest and release the film as per the plan.

With no options left, Dil Raju and Sri Venkateswara Creations announced that Maharshi will hit the screens on April 25th all over.

Dil Raju is currently in extreme pressure with a bunch of films during this summer. We will have to wait and see if Dil Raju manages to push some among his distribution films to May or if he turns a threat to his own production Maharshi.

Shruti And Sunny Leone Missed Allu Arjun’s Song

In some films, item songs garner so much attention and popularity that they will be remembered for times to come. And such eternal songs also give a huge break to the leading hotties who were part of it. That’s the reason even star heroines do item songs some times.

From Katrina Kaif to Sonakshi Sinha, Kareena Kapoor to Priyanka Chopra, Shruti Haasan to Sunny Leone, almost every star heroine has done these item numbers. And the talk is that both Shruti and Sunny has missed out a big chance of featuring Allu Arjun’s item number. Actually, it’s not Bunny’s song now, but it is his song that is being remade in Tamil.

One wonders what made hero Vishal opt for Shraddha Das when there are many star heroines he could pick for ‘Blockbuster Blockbustery’ song from Sarrainodu which is being inserted into Temper remake ‘Ayogya’ in Tamil. Buzz has that two big heroines, Shruti and Sunny are the original choices for this song.

While Shruti is said to have changed her mind as she doesn’t want to be cast in item songs as he earlier item numbers failed big time. And then Sunny is said to have demanded more than 50 lakhs for the song, which the makers are not ready to shell out. Finally, it went to struggling starlet Shraddha and many are hoping that she might make most of it.

Is this YSRCP’s new strategy to corner TDP?

Share

A report stating that 3.7 crore voters’ privacy has been breached in a data theft attempt is doing rounds. According to YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy, Telugu Desam Party app has data of 3.7 crore voters including all their details and believes that this will be misused by the yellow party in the upcoming elections.

The YSRCP MP has complained to Cyberabad police in this regard. However, an FIR has not been filed. The party has alleged that the data has been used by the app from the state Resident Data Hub (SRDH) which is openly available. The data has been used by the app-making company IT Grids which is based in Hyderabad.

However, sources say that it cannot be a case of data breach as the data is openly available. According to YSRCP, the Election Commission and UIDAI have launched a probe into this. But, political observers say that the report doesn’t mention of any official probe nor does it have responses from UIDAI or Election Commission sources.

On the other hand, political observers say that this could be another strategy of YSR Congress party to corner Telugu Desam Party and expose an alleged “conspiracy” by using Cyberabad police to investigate into this case and escalate it to central agencies for probe.

“What this indicates is that with the help of TRS in Hyderabad and BJP at the Centre, YSRCP wants to make it looks like TDP is stealing private data,” a political analyst said. Looks like YSRCP is doing everything in its capacity to ensure that TDP loses the upcoming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh!

‘Air Strikes Will Help Us Win More Than 22 Lok Sabha Seats’

Share

Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa said India’s powerful surgical strikes on Pakistan have created a massive advantage to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to his political party BJP. The party would get a lot of positivity and the required attention, helping it to grab over 22 of 28 seats in the coming Karnataka LS elections.

Yeddyurappa said the damage made to Pakistan terror camps have majorly eliminated anti-Modi and brought a pro-Modi wave nationwide. He believed that the impact will be huge in the Lok Sabha elections. While interacting with media, he said youth now shows interest on Modi’s actions and approved his credibility.

He further expressed that Modi made a brave and vengeful move on Pakistan and thought a good lesson to Pakistanis. He said Modi is living on his words and kept his promise. In fact, even opposition parties appreciated the move, he said. In Karnataka, the BJP, at present, holds 16 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka.

Currently, India is striving hard to get back wing commander Abhinandan Varthman who has been under the custody of Pakistan since yesterday’s air strikes.
