Akhil Akkineni Returns to Sets After Wedding

Recently, Akhil Akkineni stepped into a new phase of life by tying the knot with Zainab Rauvji, a Mumbai-based entrepreneur. The wedding was an intimate and low-key affair held at the Akkineni family residence. After the wedding, the couple went on a short honeymoon and have now returned to their routine life.
Wasting no time, Akhil has jumped straight back into work. He is currently shooting for his upcoming film Lenin, which is being directed by Murali Kishor Abburu. Interestingly, the shoot is taking place at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, allowing Akhil to resume work without needing to travel extensively after his honeymoon.
A significant portion of the film has already been shot. However, wedding preparations had temporarily paused the production. During Akhil’s absence, scenes that didn’t require his presence were filmed. Now that he’s back on set, the shoot has picked up momentum. The team is working hard to wrap up the current schedule quickly.
Following this, a portion of the film is expected to be shot abroad, with planning for that schedule already underway. After Lenin, Akhil is reportedly lining up a massive project, and sources from the Akkineni camp suggest that a top star director is being brought on board for it.
Now married and settled, Akhil seems to be approaching his career with renewed focus and confidence. With personal milestones aligning, the Akkineni star is hopeful that this new chapter will bring him both personal and professional success.
Madhoo Opens Up About Career, Missed Film with Amitabh

Actress Madhoo, who made a memorable debut in South Indian cinema with Roja after her Hindi success with Phool Aur Kaante, quickly established herself as a leading actress in both industries. Despite her rising fame, Madhoo surprised many by stepping away from films in 1999 after marrying Anand Shah.
In a recent interview, Madhoo revealed an interesting moment from her career—she turned down an opportunity to act alongside Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. She was offered a role in Sooryavansham, but declined it as her wedding date had already been fixed. “I didn’t consider it a big offer at the time. I just chose to go ahead with my personal life,” she explained. The role eventually went to actress Soundarya. While Sooryavansham was a commercial failure upon release, it later gained cult status and immense popularity on television.
After a long hiatus, Madhoo made a comeback in Telugu cinema with the film Anthaka Mundu Aa Tarvatha, directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti. Since then, she has been steadily active in both Tollywood and Kollywood. Speaking about her break from acting, Madhoo shared, “Even though I was receiving back-to-back offers during my peak, I started feeling disconnected from acting. The commercial nature of the projects and not being able to work with realistic filmmakers led to that discontent.”
She added that, unlike Bollywood where she turned down several A-list opportunities, she found creative satisfaction working with South Indian directors who focus on authenticity and storytelling. Most recently, Madhoo appeared in the devotional film Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and starring Vishnu Manchu. The film also featured Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, and Brahmanandam.
Up next, Madhoo will be seen in a romantic drama titled Chinna Chinna Aasai, written and directed by Varsha Vasudev. The actress seems to be relishing this new phase of her career, working on meaningful projects that resonate with her creatively.
Karan Johar Jokes About Bollywood WhatsApp Gossip

Popular Bollywood filmmaker and producer Karan Johar has been ruling the OTT space recently, earning widespread recognition not only as a hitmaker but also as one of the most influential figures in Hindi cinema. However, no matter how powerful or popular he may be, it’s surprising to hear how he’s discussed in private circles—especially Bollywood WhatsApp groups.
Known for his sharp wit and comic timing, Karan is loved for his candidness and ability to deliver punchy, humorous lines. During a recent live session, a curious fan asked him an interesting question: “Since you’re part of several Bollywood WhatsApp groups, have you ever thought of making a film or writing a book based on the conversations that happen there?”
Karan’s reaction was both amusing and honest. With a smile, he responded, “If my friends and I ever got a place in those WhatsApp groups, we’d have to pack up and move to London—we couldn’t stay in Mumbai anymore!” He humorously hinted that the things discussed in those groups are far too bold or controversial to survive socially in the city.
He added, “To be honest, we are instant commentators in our own groups. We become fashion critics, film critics—basically critics of everything. Everyone has an opinion, but that doesn’t mean it can always be said openly, even in a private group.”
Currently, Karan Johar is hosting the popular reality show The Traitors on Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, his production house Dharma Productions is gearing up to release Sarzameen, an intense thriller set in Kashmir. Directed by Kayoze Irani, the film stars Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Sarzameen is scheduled to premiere on July 25 on JioCinema.
Karan’s playful response and transparency once again reflect why he remains one of Bollywood’s most engaging personalities—on-screen and off.
Dhanush Gears Up for Triple Treat in 2025

After delivering a solid success with Kubera, actor Dhanush is all set to keep the momentum going with two more films slated for release this year. In Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula, Dhanush impressed audiences and critics alike with his performance as Deva. While the film had an average run in Tamil Nadu, it surprised everyone by grossing nearly ₹100 crore at the Telugu box office — an unprecedented feat for a Dhanush film. It went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year in Telugu states.
With this success behind him, there is a lot of buzz around Dhanush’s next two projects. First up is Idly Kadai, a film he is directing himself. All of Dhanush’s previous directorial ventures have been well received, and expectations are high once again. Industry insiders, especially from Kollywood, are confident that Idly Kadai will be a major hit in Tamil Nadu. While its box office prospects in Telugu remain uncertain, many believe that the success of Kubera could help it earn decent numbers even in Telugu states.
Idly Kadai is being produced by Aakash Bhaskaran, with Dhanush also serving as a co-producer. The film is being planned for an October 1 release and is being touted as one of Dhanush’s biggest releases of 2025. From the look, storyline, and presentation, many feel it could reach the range of his earlier hit Raanjhanaa.
Following Idly Kadai, Dhanush will return to the big screen with the Hindi film Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L. Rai, with Kriti Sanon playing the female lead. Recently, the director revealed that Dhanush has completed his portions of the shoot, and the team is confident that this film too will strike gold. There is already considerable buzz around the film in both Hindi and Tamil markets, thanks to Dhanush’s past success in Bollywood.
Having already opened 2025 with a strong hit in Kubera, Dhanush is aiming to score a hat-trick this year with Idly Kadai in October and Tere Ishk Mein in November. Fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing if he can pull off this rare feat—delivering three major hits in a single year, something even top stars rarely achieve.
Will 2025 be Dhanush’s most successful year yet? Fans and industry watchers alike are waiting to find out.
Rajinikanth Brings Back Vintage Vibes with Chikittu Song

It’s already known that superstar Rajinikanth is teaming up with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the much-awaited film Coolie. The project has generated massive buzz, and with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, expectations are sky-high. This powerful combination of Rajinikanth, Lokesh, and Anirudh is raising excitement across pan-India audiences. The makers have also kickstarted promotions, releasing lyrical singles one after another to keep the momentum going.
Recently, the song Chikittu was released, and once again, Rajinikanth impresses with his signature hook steps. But surprisingly, it’s Anirudh who is stealing the spotlight in this track with his energetic performance. Sharing his experience related to the song, Anirudh recently opened up and said, “You’ll see vintage Rajinikanth in this number. He worked extremely hard and took the song as a challenge. Normally, Rajini sir never listens to the songs before shoot—except for ‘Hukum’ from Jailer, he hasn’t heard much in advance. But for Coolie, he listened to Chikittu beforehand. You can see how much he enjoyed it just by watching his dance. He’s absolutely killed it in that classic vintage style. It feels like seeing the Rajinikanth from 30 years ago again.”
Anirudh also added that Rajinikanth shares a unique energy when working with him. Their collaboration in Jailer showcased that same enthusiasm and magic. Over the years, fans have felt that the vibe of classic Rajini songs had faded a bit, with more focus on content than musical impact. But with Anirudh’s arrival, that golden touch seems to be returning. It’s no surprise then that Rajinikanth is making sure Anirudh handles the music for every one of his recent films.
Mrunal Thakur Replaces Shruti Haasan in Dacoit

Actors Adivi Sesh and Shruti Haasan grabbed headlines last November when they were spotted together at a 50 Cent concert in Mumbai. Shortly after, they announced their collaboration on a rustic action drama titled Dacoit, sparking much excitement among fans. However, in May this year, reports surfaced that Shruti had exited the project due to creative differences. Soon after, Mrunal Thakur was confirmed as her replacement.
In a recent podcast, Adivi Sesh opened up about the change and clarified that there was no dramatic fallout behind Shruti’s departure. “It just didn’t work out,” he stated. “There were different working styles, and she’s also quite busy with her other project, Coolie. It was all very amicable and respectful. I take a lot of time to make a film, and not everyone is on board with that process. That’s really all there is to it.”
Speaking about Mrunal Thakur, Sesh expressed his admiration for her craft, especially after seeing her performance in Sita Ramam. He was pleasantly surprised when she agreed to come on board Dacoit within hours of hearing the narration—unlike many actors who often take weeks to decide. Sesh also appreciated her humility, sharing that Mrunal was touched by the fact that her name was given first and given due prominence in the official announcement video, which, he noted, is not common in the industry.
Reiterating the importance of her role, Sesh described Dacoit as a “two-hero film,” emphasizing that Mrunal’s character carries equal narrative weight. With this fresh casting and a promising script, Dacoit continues to be one of the most anticipated projects on Adivi Sesh’s slate.
Bollywood’s Epic Ramayana Set for Global Release

Bollywood is preparing for one of its most ambitious cinematic projects with a grand adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Revered by over 2.5 billion people across the world, this legendary tale is being brought to the big screen in a massive two-part live-action format. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with the Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG and Yash’s production house Monster Mind Creations, the film promises a rich blend of mythology and cutting-edge technology.
Set 5,000 years ago, the film is being made for an IMAX release, with Part 1 scheduled for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 for Diwali 2027. The project recently made waves with the launch of Ramayana: The Introduction, a first-look teaser revealed with grandeur across nine Indian cities and even showcased on a huge billboard in Times Square, New York — highlighting its global vision.
The casting is star-studded. Ranbir Kapoor takes on the role of Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash portrays the antagonist Ravana while also serving as a co-producer, Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey takes on the role of Lakshmana. The film aims to go beyond merely narrating the age-old story; it seeks to reintroduce India’s spiritual and cultural essence to the world through emotionally powerful storytelling and top-tier cinematic techniques.
According to producer Namit Malhotra, the biggest challenge lies in striking the right balance — maintaining the mythological authenticity while embracing modern filmmaking tools. As expectations rise, this adaptation of Ramayana is poised to become a landmark in Indian cinema, blending tradition and technology on a global stage.
