This film is the first hit in recent times for cute looking heroine Mehreen Pirzada but she is saying that it is a ‘tiny’ victory. But what has this Punjabi kudi scored right now could be the biggest of her career, and the only thing she should look forward to is beating it.
F2 is such a surprise hit that it became the highest grosser of the careers of Venky and Varun Tej, as well as Mehreen. From last one year or so, Mehreen is busy scoring only flops at the box office and at one time it looked like nothing is happening for her. But surely her ‘honey is the best’ act worked big time.
At this point, Mehreen is celebrating, but she has captioned a picture of her saying that she is celebrating every tiny victory now. But this is not a tiny one honey, because from now Mehreen will be hot pick for many multi-starrers and even big heroes might look at her. The way she carried the role and also her terrific glamour act has appealed to many.
Talk: Director Leaves His Caste Feeling
He is one of those directors who made some sensible films even with big stars. And then his way of expressing the cutest and delicate family emotions has struck a chord with Telugu audiences. But he has one drawback.
Apparently, in all of his films, he gives super prominence to his own caste. While he works with people from all castes, inside the film he uses names and surnames that belong prominently to his own caste. Almost all of his films bear this signature, no matter whether they are hits or flops.
But it looks like after scoring big flopbuster, he has changed his mindset. Though he didn’t make any formal announcement about his movie, the title of the film itself has a surname which doesn’t belong to his caste. And that gave a hint that he might have kept aside.
Anyway, hope this director scores a hit now!
Nani Unable To Come Out Of Jersey Mood
Like Jr NTR said earlier that he was unable to come out of the ‘Ravana’ character mode when he played that stammering villain’s role, it looks every hero will go through such experiences at some part of their careers. Even Nani is into one now.
Though Nani’s issue is not about a personality disorder or work taking a toll on him, but he is said to have got his mind fixed on this composer and not able to come out. Apparently Nani’s upcoming movie “Jersey” has one of India’s finest composer Anirudh delivering the music. All the tunes are said to have mesmerized him so much that he wants the same guy for all of his films now.
With director Vikram K Kumar, who is going to be directing Nani’s next, locking Anup Rubens as the composer of the movie, we hear that Nani has a change of mind over this. He wants Anirudh to come aboard rather than Anup, say sources. Earlier Nani believed in his Majnu composer same way, and they worked in three films back to back. Seems like now Nani wants Anirudh to do same for him.
We have to see who will be finally becoming the composer for this film.
Software Engineers In Kuchipudi Vaari Veedhi
Buzz has already engulfed the whole of Tollywood that director Srikanth Addala, who wants a bounce back strongly after the disastrous show of “Brahmotsavam”, is coming up with a new film featuring Venkatesh and Kamal Haasan in the leads.
While there is no official confirmation regarding the same, a buzz is now doing rounds that the film, tentatively titled ‘Kuchipudi Vaari Veedhi’ has yet another interesting emotional subcontext as the backbone of the story. Inside the film, both Venky and Kamal will be seen as guys who are running software companies and they both come to their native village after years. What happens between them and villagers is the rest of the story.
We hear that the film will have rich and poor differences type of storyline, though there is no clarity if one of the heroes will be seen as rich and another one as poor. For now, whatever the buzz is being heard is too interesting to hear.
Anyway, hope Srikanth gives a formal announcement very soon!
Did Modi ignore Tollywood & Kollywood?
He met Karan Johar and gang once. Then he met another next line of heroes. Then he met Kapil Sharma and some TV celebs. But all these people hail from Bollywood only. We are talking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with cinema stars and the discussion about it on social media.
With Modi meeting just Bollywood people to discuss about GST on tickets and other things related to films, one wonders if he has conveniently forgotten the other big film industries like Telugu and Tamil. Especially Tollywood is the one that produces films (quantity) in near equal number to that of Bollywood. And the market is so big that today Hindi’s biggest hit is Telugu film Baahubali.
At this point, shouldn’t Modi and his team make sure that they will be meeting Southern film industry biggies who are right now creating tremors in Bollywood as well? Many netizens are opining that this is the kind of justice always North based politicians do to the South, from a long time.
Some, however, felt that Modi’s meeting are only propaganda to win the support of film stars for BJP’s election campaign. And as he knows clearly that no south state in India is going to fall in his trap, he simply avoided meeting them. We have to see if BJP people will respond to this.
Megastar Searching For New Directors Now
Megastar Chiranjeevi is now a happy man because most of the youngsters in his house have now taken a leaf from him and turned to ‘acting’ career. And then, apart from his blood relation, another one also became a hero with his blessings.
After encouraging a set of mega heroes to become a team themselves, a huge team of mega heroes landed in Tollywood now. After Pawan Kalyan, we have Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Sai Dharam Tej, Varun Tej, Niharika, Allu Sirish and now Vaishnav Tej entering the showbiz business.
Joining all these heroes is none other than Megastar’s younger son-in-law Kalyaan Dhev. Though this newly promoted father is already doing his second film, we hear that Chiranjeevi is busy finding some new directors for him. New in the sense, he is said to be finding debutants who have worked with star directors. So, why this special care on Alludu?
With Allu Arjun and Ram Charan already becoming that big stars, and others also doing good, Chiranjeevi is said to have felt that there is a need to set Kalyaan’s career as well from the initial stages itself. And hence this special caring.
Dil Raju Announces ‘Maharshi’ Release Date
Kicking superstar Mahesh Babu’s fans into super happiness, now producer Dil Raju, who is running high with the success of “F2: Fun and Frustration” has now announced “Maharshi” release date.
After paying a visit to Lord Balaji at Tirumala, a happy looking Dil Raju actually revealed that his next release is going to be Mahesh’s Maharshi. He stated that the film is slated for an April 25th release. That’s a high summer release, a time period during which Mahesh is scoring big hits in recent times.
On April 18th we have Lawrence most successful Kanchana franchise film, Kanchana 3 hitting cinemas and then Nani’s Jersey will be released on 19th. Seems like Dil Raju blocked the following week. No doubt, fans are now expecting a Bharat Anu Nenu like success repeated in April 2019.
Then we have to see the other films coming from Dil Raju’s stable as well. Becuase he said, ‘four more films of me are on the way this year’.
Buzz: All Eyes On Thaman’s Magic Now
Composer Thaman is known for his terrific melodies and thumping background score. Though some of his Telugu films that got good music haven’t worked, many blockbusters are supported by his background score including the latest Simmba and the upcoming Saaho.
Tollywood is now looking forward to seeing Thaman’s best after Tholiprema and Aravinda Sametha, in the form of Mr Majnu. Actually, this film has interesting tunes scored by Thaman for the songs, but more than that, music lovers are waiting to see the background score he gives.
When Tholiprema has hit cinemas last year, Thaman’s heart touching background score just created the right mood to emotionally affect the audience, thus making the film a super hit. Going by the music he has given for the trailer of this Akhil and Nidhhi Agerwal starrer, it looks like he will be giving a feast with background score now.
Last year also, we have Thaman scoring for the first mega blockbuster of 2018, through Anushka’s Bhagamathie, where his background score is half the hero of the movie. Let’s see if he repeats the same magic this year too.
#RRR Breaks The Record With 132 Cr Deal!
If there is a Megastar in the family of directors, then definitely the name is nothing but SS Rajamouli. And the talented director makes sure that his films are not just a minimum guarantee but they are maximum effective at the box office. That is his success mantra.
Recently Rajamouli has stunned trade circles by the way #RRR has been sold. There is a huge demand for Telugu films these days across Indian markets and that too if it is a movie of Baahubali director, imagine the craze. That is the reason this Ram Charan and NTR starrer has now beaten the records of Superstar Rajnikanth’s #2PointO sales.
While the satellite and digital rights of #2.O for all languages have fetched 108 crores, now Rajamouli’s #RRR has beaten them. Reports are coming that a leading channel that has a presence almost all over India, has now acquired the satellite and digital rights of #RRR for almost Rs 132 crores. That is a record of sorts for any South film.
Going by this, the investment of 300 crores that will be poured in by producer DVV Danayya is nothing, as it will be on its way to recovery even before the first teaser of the film releases.
Oppn MLAs waiting for time to defect to TRS!
The decision of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to defer his plans to expand his council of ministers has led to the postponement of the defection of some of the opposition MLAs into the TRS.
According to the TRS sources, at least half a dozen Telangana Congress MLAs and the two TDP MLAs are eagerly waiting for clearance from KCR to join the party, but the latter is said to be not in a hurry to admit them.
“It is quite obvious that at least some of them are expecting berths in the state cabinet and depending on KCR’s decision, they would take a plunge into the TRS. But with KCR not keen on expanding the cabinet at least for another two weeks, these MLAs have deferred their plans to join,” a TRS leader said.
On Sunday, senior TDP leader and Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah had an hour-long meeting with the TRS president at Pragathi Bhavan, after taking his oath as an MLA in the assembly.It is a customary for Sandra to wear yellow short whenever he attends Assembly session in the past, but this time he wore white shirt.
After entering the Assembly, he straight away went to Speaker’s chamber and had a brief meeting and then entered the house to take oath.This led to the talk that he would join the ruling party shortly. However, Sandra clarified that his meeting with CM was informal and few Congress MLAs were also met Chief Minister at that time.
“I will change the party after informing people of my constituency,” he asked.Another member from TDP Meccha Nageswara Rao, who has been denying defecting to the TRS, is also learnt to have changed his mind and decided to jump into the TRS.Sangareddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy also had a meeting with KCR and appeared very jubilant.
He already made it clear that he would not make any allegations against KCR or TRS which have got the people’s mandate in a big way.He is also likely to take a plunge into the TRS, if everything goes well.
Trump made 8,158 false or misleading claims in 2 years
Washington: Two years after taking the oath of office, US President Donald Trump has made 8,158 false or misleading claims, according to The Washington Post’s database.The daily’s Fact Checker’s database analyses, categorises and tracks every suspect statement uttered by the President, it said in the report on Monday.
In 2018, he made an “astonishing” 6,000-plus such claims.
The President averaged nearly 5.9 false or misleading claims a day in his first year in office, but he hit nearly 16.5 a day in his second year, almost triple the pace.The Washington Post started the Fact Checker online project as part of its coverage of the President’s first 100 days, “largely because we could not possibly keep up with the pace and volume of the President’s misstatements”.
The project’s interactive graphic displays a running list of every false or misleading statement made by Trump. A reader can also search for specific claims or obtain monthly or daily totals.According to Fact Checker, the President in his first 100 days made 492 unsupported claims.He managed to top that number just in the first three weeks of 2019.
Before the midterm elections in October, he made more than 1,200 false or misleading claims.The biggest source of misleading claims is immigration, with a tally that has grown with the addition of 300 immigration claims in the past three weeks, for a total of 1,433, the Fact Checker said.In the President’s immigration address on January 19, the last day of his second year in office, there were 12 false or misleading claims.
According to Fact Checker, there were only 82 days or about 11 per cent of the time that there were recorded no claims.
“These were often days when the President golfed,” it added.
Vinaya Vidheya Rama Ends Run in Nizam
Ram Charan starrer ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ has ended its run in Nizam region. On the first Monday after the end of Sankranthi holidays, the film registered almost nil collections shocking the trade. It has run into deficit now.The film has collected Rs 12 Cr share so far and it will not add anything further.This is the first time that a Ram Charan movie running its run in just 10 days of release since the disaster “Toofan”.
If Dil Raju, the distributor of the movie in Nizam region, decides to continue to run the movie, the film will eat further its share and bring down its total revenue. So, he will have to terminate the movie immediately across the theaters in the Nizam region.
He bought the film from UV Creations that bagged the entire theatrical rights for whopping Rs 73 Cr.
UV Creations is looking at Rs 20 Cr loss overall, while Dil Raju will be losing about 5 Cr.While Dil Raju is minting money from his own production “F2”, the distribution of “Vinaya Vidheya Rama” put a dent to his account.
