One-Scene Not Enough Balayya
NTR Kathanayakudu, the first part of the two-part biopic movie on the life of Sr NTR is currently out in the theatres. Nandamuri Balakrishna played his father’s role in the movie and produced it too. As the film released today, everyone who watched it started discussing about one particular scene that became the one and only major highlight in the film.
There was a situation during Maya Bazar making where NagiReddy-Chakrapani has to choose actor for Lord Krishna. While KV Reddy finalizes NTR for Lord Krishna character, the duo NagiReddy-Chakrapani objects his decision. During the discussion, NTR applies makeup for himself and gets ready as Lord Krishna and comes out of the room to present himself to them. After seeing him in Lord Krishna getup, the duo immediately gets surprised and Nagi Reddy even folds his hands by believing that Lord Krishna himself has come out to the earth.
This scene looks normal and ordinary on paper but the way it was shot is brilliant. The background effects, establishments, elevation given, slo-mo effect and Keeravani’s BGM have breathed life into the scene and it turned as a massive highlight.
But, in the entire 170 minutes, no other scene is as good as this one in satisfying the fans. Hence, a lot of them have expressed an opinion that three to four such scenes would have been included in the movie for the fans to enjoy. All in all, in the end, the film appears good but there are not many scenes to talk about or to take home with us.
Nagarjuna Should Think About It
Director Krish and Balakrishna Nandamuri worked so hard and finalized the actors for the characters in NTR biopic. We have seen a lot of real characters included in the first part of the movie and a lot of noted actors were seen playing them. Except for a couple of real characters, we do not know the real behavior of other characters. ANR character is one to which every one of us is familiar.
Sumanth was a perfect choice for ANR character in the movie. He was apt and convinced everyone as ANR without a single doubt. It is actually tough to play a character like that as we all knew how ANR walks, sees, sits, talks and behaves. Sumanth breathed life in the character and made us believe that we are watching ANR on the screen. There was a scene in the movie where NTR and ANR will light a cigar, which came out really well. The Nandamuri and Akkineni fans are celebrating the movie together.
Going by the way he is getting the appreciations now, Nagarjuna Akkineni can surely think of doing a biopic of his father with Sumanth playing ANR.

Can Anyone Dare Beat Jagan’s Record In Future?
At last, the marathon padayatra of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy came to an end with a public meeting at Ichapuram in Srikakulam district on Wednesday.
Christened as “Praja Sankalpa Yatra,” the walkathon began at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on November 6, 2017 after paying homage to his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s Samadhi.
It was the longest padayatra ever taken by any politician. Jagan has covered 3648 kms in 341 days over a period of 429 days.
He has visited 134 assembly constituencies and more than 2500 villages, across all 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Now, political analysts are wondering whether any other politician will dare beat this record padayatra of Jaganmohan Reddy.
Forget about physical and mental strength, one should have the “sankalpam” (will power) to take up such a yatra that went on for more than 14 months. It was marathon, except for the mandatory breaks for the court cases every week.
The question is which politician in the contemporary Andhra history has such will power. For the present-day leaders, who are used to travel in special flights these days, walking for such a long distance and such a long duration is really impossible.
“Some leaders in future may try this time-tested path of walking long distances to reach out to the people, but this record of Jagan is insurmountable by any means.
“It will take yet another generation to make any such attempt. But by that time, there would be major changes in the political system and one might not be willing to take such a risk. So, it is going to be a record for a long time to come,” an analyst said.
SC order on CBI director a lesson to KCR!
The latest judgement given by Supreme Court ordering the Centre to reinstate Central Bureau of Investigation director Alok Verma should be an eye-opener to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
This was observed by Telangana Congress Committee leader G Narayan Reddy. He said KCR should learn some lessons from the Supreme Court’s order on CBI Director’s reinstatement and stop misusing police force and other institutions.
He said both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and KCR had misused Executive, Legislature and Media, the three pillars of democracy and did not show respect towards the Judiciary. They demolished all the democratic institutions and tried to rule like dictators.
However, he praised the role being played by judiciary in protecting the democracy and Constitution in the country.
He said the Supreme Court order reinstating the CBI director was a direct indictment of the Prime Minister and he must now learn to follow the rule book.
He said the SC order had reversed the precedent attempted by the Modi Government to take control of democratic institutions like CBI.
The SC order has now set a new precedent and no party in power in future would ever try to interfere in the functioning of democratic institutions.
The Congress leader said that the Supreme Court’s order would act as referral whenever the party in power, anywhere in the country, tries to misuse the democratic institutions.
NTR Kathanayakudu’s Premiere Show Collections
NTR Biopic titled “NTR Kathanayakudu” has raked in average gross from the premiere shows despite unprecedented hype was created before the release. The film released with Tuesday premiere shows and offers in USA and grossed $473k from premiere shows. This is highest number in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s career.
Balakrishna’s previous best was “Gautamiputra Satakarni” which grossed 375k dollars from premiere shows. So, ‘NTR Kathanayakudu’ had collected 100k more than ‘GSPK’ did rake in. All in all, a good number for a Balakrishna movie. However, the film has underperformed given the buzz and hype when relatively small film like “Geetha Govindam” grossed nearly $400k with ordinary pre-release buzz.
With average ratings of 3 from the critics, the movie has chances to pick up its collections over the weekend. ‘NTR Kathanayakudu’ is directed by Krish.
KTR’s Friend Buys Out Park Hyatt?
Rumour mills are rife that KTR has bought out T Subbarami Reddy’s Park Hyatt that is located in the heart of Banjara Hills Road No. 2. It is buzzed that one of KTR’s friends have bought Park Hyatt for a fancy deal and the star hotel’s name has been changed now to Rolex.
Apparently, Park Hyatt had been on sale for a while as Subbarami Reddy wants to sell it off. Finally, a close friend of KTR said to have bought the hotel.
Meanwhile, it can be noted that popular regional news channel TV9 also went into the hands of close friends of KCR’s family. My Home’s Jupally Rameswar Rao had invested into TV9. Looks like, friends of KCR and KTR are getting into a lot of businesses.
45 days and Chandrababu will be gone from power: Dharmana
Launching a trenchant attack on TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP senior leader Dharmana Prasads Rao said that “Chandrababu’s government will not last beyond 45 days.” Criticizing AP Chief Minister, Dharmana said that the TDP government has failed miserably. “They have failed to fulfill at least one promise in their manifesto. Go and ask them, they will not have any answer,” he said.
Lauding YSR Congress Chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy for his Padayatra, he said that “a leader is not the one who has to only sit in the Assembly and leave when the session is over. He is someone who goes into public to understand how the government is doing and how it can be better. That is what Jagan is doing today.” Additionally, he said: “Everyone on the roads and the streets are telling, this government will last for 45 days more. That’s it. So, there’s a feeling that this government won’t be back in power. Ask anyone…!”
Stating that Chandrababu’s opportunistic politics are irking people, he said the TDP chief will face a drubbing defeat in the upcoming Assembly elections. “Election trends are dependent on the current political trends across the country. So, going by those and the recent surveys, it is clear that YSRCP is leading in the state. TDP will not see any victory and we are confident of our win,” he concluded.
Anushka Still No.2 In Terms Of Remuneration
Returning from the European spa session, Anushka Shetty, the Devasena of Baahubalian era, has been shining like never before. And continuing her cinematic journey, she is signing many films too.
Currently, Anushka has a lineup of films, one with director Hemanth Madhukar and another one being produced by Kona Venkat. All these movies will be made on a decent budget and also they will be shot abroad for most of the time. Guess how much Anushka is charging for these films?
Unlike Nayantara, who has become the superstar of Tamil cinema by charging nearly 4-5 crores for a film, Anushka is yet to get into that league though her Baahubali act is a bigger hit. She is said to be taking home 1.25 crores with these Telugu movies. At a time when the likes of Kajal Agarwal are pocketing 2 crores, this is too low for Anushka, isn’t it?
Looks like Anushka has to seriously grow her market as a solo contender thereby steering more films like Bhagamaathie to become blockbusters.
