If Baahubali Was Made In Hindi, The Cast Would Be..
There was never a dull moment on the Koffee With Karan 6 episode featuring the Baahubali trio – director SS Rajamouli and actors Prabhas and Rana Daggubati.
Needless to say that Rajamouli’s ambitious epic film series Baahubali remained a recurrent topic of conversation with the show host Karan Johar asking his guests to share their experience of working on the magnum opus project.
“It’s like all of us went to a film school for four years,” said Rana, who was cast at the villainous Bhallala Deva in the films.
Prabhas, who appeared to be the shy one amongst the trio, added: “We had three-four birthdays on sets!”
Prabhas also added that on the day of Baahubali: The Beginning’s release in 2015, he was so tensed that he asked his friends to call and wake him up early only if it received a blockbuster response.
“Nobody woke me up,” added Prabhas. He was in New Delhi at that point to attend an event but he said he called up Rajamouli and said: “I can’t come, I am too tensed.”
Baahubali: The Conclusion redefined box office history with as many as over Rs. 1,500 crore at the box office. Rajamouli added that: “I was terrified,” ahead of the first film’s release over three years ago.
Now, cut to the Rapid Fire Round in the show, when Rajamouli was asked which actors he would cast if Baahubali was made in Hindi.
After giving it a thought, Rajamouli said Deepika Padukone would have been best suited for the role of Devasena (originally played by Anushka) while he simply could not think of replacements for Prabhas and Rana. Earlier, both Prabhas and Rana had named Deepika as their favourite actress from Bollywood.
Prabhas and Rana were also individually asked to name probable alternative actors for each other’s Baahubali roles when they made it clear that only a Prabhas can be a Baahubali and a Rana can be a Bhallala Deva.
Meanwhile on the show, we also learnt that Anushka’s real name is actually Sweety Shetty and that Anushka is her stage name, that Prabhas loves to host massive parties at his plush farmhouse in Hyderabad and that he is a complete foodie.
Rajamouli also revealed Prabhas is the “bad boy” amongst the two actors but nobody’s ever likely to know about what he’s up to. The filmmaker termed Rana as the extrovert and Prabhas as the introvert.
Karan Johar also asked Rana Daggubati about his rapport with rumoured ex-girlfriend Trisha Krishnan, when he said: “We were just good friends.”
Later, he added that: “We’ve been friends for very long but things didn’t work out.” Prabhas was also asked about the dating rumours about him and Anushka Shetty, which he dismissed.
Meanwhile, the Koffee hamper was taken home by Rajamouli because of his to-the-point and honest answers.
Prabhas and Rana Daggubati could not defeat Rajamouli even in the Gaming Round as nobody received their calls to say: “Hello Karan, it’s me!”
I Didn’t Join Congress, Says TRS MLC!
With the threat of disqualification looming large on the four Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLCs who had defected to the Congress party before elections, they are now trying to find excuses to save their posts.
While one of the four MLCs – Konda Murali resigned from his membership right royally stating that he was ready to face the by-elections, the other three – Ramulu Naik, Yadava Reddy and Bhupathi Reddy are looking for legal loopholes to avoid being disqualified.
On Monday, Ramulu Naik gave his reply to the show-cause notice issued served on him by legislative council chairman K Swamy Goud. In his reply, Naik said there was no proof that he had actually joined the Congress party.
“It is true that I had met Congress president Rahul Gandhi, but I did not join the Congress. I only met him to submit a representation on tribal issues,” he said.
He pointed out that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was also meeting leaders of several other parties in the country in the name of third front.
“Does it mean he is joining their parties?” he asked.
The MLC clarified that he had been appointed by Governor in recognition of his social service to the tribal community and as such, the Anti-Defection Law did not apply to him.
He said he had been suspended from the TRS only because he was raising the issues pertaining to STs.
Naik sought to know why no action was taken against the Congress and Telugu Desam Party MLAs who had joined the TRS.
“I am being victimized only because I am an ST. The TRS is trying to foist false cases against me; and eliminate me physically through supari gangs. KCR alone is held responsible of something happens to my life,” the MLC said.
Why Congress Is Better Than BJP For Naidu?
Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is desperately trying to defend his decision to join hands with the Congress party after disassociating with the Bharatiya Janata Party in March this year.
Notwithstanding the recent debacle of the party in Telangana elections despite forging an alliance with the Congress, Naidu still wants to continue friendship with the national party, since he feels he can compensate the loss of two per cent votes following disassociation with the BJP.
But he has to give some reasoning to the people. That is why he has been trying to brainwash the people saying Congress was much better the BJP.
“We have joined hands with the Congress, as the latter had promised to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh,” Naidu said speaking to media.
He reminded that Congress President Rahul Gandhi while addressing a gathering in Kurnool in September had assured that his party will confer special category status on Andhra Pradesh after it emerges victorious in next year’s general elections.
He alleged that the BJP had betrayed the faith of the people while Congress has promised the state with special category status.
“BJP is more dangerous than Congress. It’s true that Congress caused loss to the state earlier. But they are ready to support AP in the matter of special status. BJP didn’t implement the things in AP Reorganization Act and betrayed our state. Now BJP is more dangerous than Congress to the state,” he said.
Furious with the BJP, Naidu accused it of betraying Andhra Pradesh.
“Modi had sworn at the abode of Lord Balaji to build a capital for Andhra Pradesh, which would be greater than Delhi, to fulfil the promises of reorganization act, to give special package in the lines of Bundelkhand package. But he did not fulfil not even a single promise,” he alleged.
ABN Radha Krishna Takes Anti-KCR Stand!
It’s official now. ABN-Andhra Jyothi owner Radha Krishna has taken anti-KCR stand and issued strict instructions to his editorial staff to highlight news stories, reports against KCR and TRS government.
While his reporters were asked to file anti-KCR, anti-TRS stories, the desk staff were asked to give good display to these stories.
The ‘love-and-hate relationship’ between KCR and Radha Krishna has been continuing since Telangana statehood agitation days.
KCR was angry at Radha Krishna for opposing TRS and Telangana statehood agitation then.
After bifurcation of AP and KCR becoming CM of Telangana in 2014, he imposed ban on ABN channel citing ‘anti-Telangana stand’.
But two years after, both compromised and their honeymoon went on till a week before recent TS Assembly elections polling on December 7.
A week before polling, RK written a big article on PG 1 of Andhra Jyothi saying that TRS car facing jerk after formation of TDP-Congress Mahakutami.
He also highlighted Lagadapati Rajagopal’s survey before polling which stated that TRS will lose and Mahakutami will come to power.
This led to tussle between KCR and RK.
After coming to power, KCR reportedly took a decision to fix RK and trouble his media groups by stopping advertisements.
KCR’s son KTR also warned RK of serious consequences in future for taking biased stand during elections to favour Mahakutami.
Though RK reportedly tried to get closer to KCR, KTR recently by expressing apologies, they didn’t allow him to do so.
Left with no chance, RK has decided to go ahead with anti-TRS stand till Lok Sabha polls in April 2019
In his recent Sunday column “kotha paluku”, RK took a dig at KCR asking him is this the ‘qualitative change” he wanted to bring in national politics by encouraging defections from other parties and wiping out Opposition in Assembly.
Naveen Patnaik Not Impressed With KCR Plan?
If the reports coming from Bhubaneshwar are to be believed, Biju Janata Dal president and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik did not evince much interest in the formation of federal front of regional parties at the national level, as proposed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
According to sources, it was KCR who had called Patnaik and sought his appointment to meet him in Bhubaneshwar.
“When the chief minister of a state wants to meet another chief minister, he will definitely be welcomed. That is what Naveen Patnaik did. He not only welcomed KCR, but also offered him a night stay at the CM’s official residence,” sources in Bhubaneshwar said.
During the hour-long meeting, KCR explained the concept of federal front to Patnaik.
“In fact, KCR was requesting the Odisha chief minister not to entertain his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu who is making efforts to stitch together an anti-BJP front. He told him, if the regional parties can come together, they would have a greater lobbying with the BJP, which is most likely to emerge as the single largest party,” sources said.
However, Patnaik reportedly told KCR that he did not have much interest in the national politics at present and his whole objective is to come to power in the state assembly and win good number of MP seats.
“I will consider about my stand in national politics only after the Lok Sabha elections,” he is learnt to have said to KCR.
The Telangana chief minister told Patnaik that they could have another round of talks at a later stage, after watching the political developments in the coming days.

KCR to Perform One More Mahayaagam?
It is almost confirmed that Telangana CM KCR to planning to perform one more Maha Yaagam very soon for the welfare of people and development of the country. It is now unclear if it is a Sahasra Ayutha Chandi Yaagam.
It is already known that KCR had private talks with Swarupanandendraswamy during his visit to Vizag and the Yaagam is heard to be having the center seat in the discussions. KCR is having a great belief for Yaagas as he performed them during the Telangana movement and also later when he became Chief Minister.
KCR performed an Ayutha Chandiyaagam in December 2015 at Yerravelli and a Rajasyamala Yaagam for two days just before the recent elections. Though there were plans of performing the Sahasra Ayutha Chandi Mahayaagam right after the Ayutha Chandiyaagam in 2015, KCR now seems to be relieved with the win in elections and is looking ahead to perform the same now.
KCR during his visit to Sarada Peetham on Sunday performed special rituals along with his wife after giving a Sashtamga namaskaaram to Peethadhipathi Swarupanandendra Saraswati.
Security for KCR during his visit to Vizag is completely driven by Telangana police and intelligence wing. Telangana police authorities looked after the protocol and list of guests who were there to meet KCR.

Talk: Change Of Director Worked Well For This Film?
For some films, more than the story it is the execution that is most important. Vijay’s Puli and Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani might have better stories than Baahubali, but this gigantic movie became such a dashing hit only due to Rajamouli’s terrific narrative. Why are we talking about this now anyway?
The film that is being talked about at the moment is none other than #NTRBiopic, whose trailer that was unveiled other day got a stunning response from all quarters. After watching that couple of times, many felt, it the trailer would have evoked a similar response if it was directed by Teja who was supposed to do it in the first place.
“Without Krish, this film would have not turned out this way”, iterated Kalyan Ram at the audio release event, which is actually pretty true. Because the way Teja visualizes some scenes and carves out few sequences will not look as massive as how Krish sees them. Also, grandeur is not Teja’s cup of tea and he always loves to go for natural looks coupled with simple makeup and serious scenes. That trend might not work for NTR Biopic.
For good projects, good things always happen in abundance. And cinema lovers are feeling that the exit of Teja has happened for the good only. That said, hope Teja directs Balayya in his style of film one day!!
