Record: Harish Rao Wins With 1,19,622 Majority

Share

In an unprecedented incident, TRS leader Harish Rao has won the hearts of Siddipet constituency and today his majority over his rivals from BJP And TJS (Praja Kutami) is simply mind-blowing.

Apparently, the lead which Harish Rao gained after the 14th round of counting is 1,19,622 votes. Already KTR and other TRS leader predicted the same about Harish Rao a week back and the conversation between KTR-Harish Rao during poll-day is getting repeated now.

As Harish breaches the record 1 lakh mark, we have to take a note that he has first beaten his own record of 90000 majority he achieved in the 2014 election. With TRS likely to form the government, Harish might retain his portfolio as a Minister and will get ahead to play a crucial role in the Kalvakuntla-family led Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Buzz: “KCR Ane Nenu” To Take Place Tomorrow

Share

With Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s win seeming imminent, the party leaders are now getting ready for the oath-taking ceremony.

According to political buzz, former Chief Minister K C R feels that tomorrow is the best day, an auspicious one, and want to take oath as Chief Minister of Telangana state. Today evening at 4’0 clock, TRS party leaders are going to meet at Telangana Bhavan and elect KCR as the leader of their TRS Legislature Party in the assembly.

On the other hand, some pundits are said to have advised KCR to take oath on December 14th, another auspicious day. So we have to see what is the final decision KCR will take as he happens to be a huge believer of astrology and mystical elements.

Revanth Reddy accepts defeat

Share

Despite being extremely confident of winning in Kodangal constituency, TPCC Working President A. Revanth Reddy lost to his TRS opponent Patnam Narender Reddy and said that he will continue to serve people as a political leader.

Revanth Reddy, who is known as firebrand leader and the only strong opponent against KCR, accepted his defeat gracefully and said that he we will continue to hold the government responsible for its actions. “I will raise issues which need the government’s attention and play my role effectively,” he added.

Just few days before elections, Revanth Reddy was arrested by Telangana police illegally and was detained for few hours. This was seen as high-handed behaviour by Telangana government and was expected to bring him sympathy. However, going by the poll trends, the TRS has swept the state by decimating the Prajakutami and indicating a clear wave.

Looks like the Congress will have to accept this defeat and introspect on what they can do better next time!

5 Reasons which helped TRS secure majority

Share

The wave in Telangana is clear. It is Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) Day today and its Chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao will become the CM of Telangana once again.

With Lagadapati’s survey going down the drain, here are four main reasons:

Rythu Bandhu Scheme: The scheme which is aimed at providing liquidity to farmers to take care of their inputs ahead of the agricultural season. Disbursals for Rabi and Kharif were claimed to be credited on time to the beneficiaries. This has proved to be a huge vote gainer for the TRS.

Muslim votes: The votes of the Muslim community, which were earlier a vote bank of the Congress, across the state have been sealed by the TRS. One of the reasons could be because of AIMIM’s support to the TRS. Excluding voters in Hyderabad who are loyal to AIMIM, the rest of the voters from the community seem to have chosen the TRS.

Telangana sentiment: Despite Telangana sentiment initially gaining steam, it faded during October. However, in November and December towards the end of the poll campaigns, the sentiment proved to be a positive for the TRS. With massive maligning of TDP and Congress and raking up the anti-Andhra sentiment, this TRS gained hugely in the process.

Systematic campaigning and poll management: The planning and early declaration of candidates by TRS initially seemed like a hasty move. However, that helped the party plan its campaigns and roadshows much in advance. Additionally, huge spending and funding on the campaigns as well as successful poll management worked in favour of the TRS.

Welfare schemes: The welfare schemes such as pensions, sheep distribution scheme and several other schemes that worked for beneficiaries won TRS their votes. Meanwhile, Opposition’s remarks on KCR not visiting Secretariat or neglecting Martyr’s families and other reasons did not matter to these beneficiaries, unlike the urban population which thought of these as pressing issues.

Bandla Ganesh reacts on Congress defeat!

Share

Film producer and official spokesperson of Congress party Bandla Ganesh was in headlines during the election campaign. With his comments, he exuded confidence in Congress party’s victory in the elections and at one point of time, Ganesh said he would cut his throat if Congress doesn’t come into power.

As the verdict is out, Ganesh has become a talking point. He took it on his official Twitter handle but did not went on to make any controversial comments. “We respect people’s decision and accept the defeat. Best wishes to TRS party,” tweeted Ganesh.

Probably this is the best way to settle down things instead of making unnecessary remarks further.

Our victory was never in doubt: KCR’s daughter

Share

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha said on Tuesday that there was never a doubt that the party will retain power with a huge majority.

Kavitha, a member of the Lok Sabha, said there was no anti-incumbency as the TRS government had done well on all fronts during the last four-and-a-half years.

The TRS leader said the so-called tough fight between the TRS and Congress-led People’s Front was showcased only on paper. She told a news channel that Telangana had voted for development.

“KCR’s hard work has paid off,” said Kavitha, adding that it was both welfare programmes and Telangana pride which worked for the party in this election.

The Nizamabad MP said Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu hijacked the People’s Front to hide his failures in Andhra Pradesh.

She said after this huge victory, KCR would now focus on national politics to work for an alternative to both Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party.

Top Congress leaders trailing in Telangana

Share

Hyderabad: Several top Congress leaders were trailing in the Telangana Assembly elections as the initial trends from across the state indicated on Tuesday.

The party’s floor leader in the dissolved Assembly K. Jana Reddy and its state Working Presidents Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Revanth Reddy were among those who were trailing behind their rivals of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Another senior Congress leader former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha was also trailing.

Former ministers Jeevan Reddy and Mohammed Ali Shabbir were also trailing.

Celebrations at TRS HQ in Hyderabad

Share

Hyderabad: Celebrations began at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) headquarters here on Tuesday as it became clear that the party was heading for a landslide victory in the Assembly elections.

Holding pictures of TRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, party workers gathered at the Telangana Bhavan raising slogans of “Jai Telangana” and “KCR Zindabad”.

They also burst firecrackers, distributed sweets, while some other enthusiastic workers, including women, were seen dancing.

They said the welfare and development works undertaken during the last four and a half years paid rich dividends to the party.

From 8 AM, New Equations In Five States

Share

December 11th is going to be a big day for all the political parties in the country itself as major equations are likely to change after having a look at these five states. As the states of Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Mizoram are going for counting today, here is what the predictions are like.

While BJP is ruling in the three states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, Congress is ruling Mizoram and TRS in Telangana. It looks like there will be some power reshuffle as per the exit polls. In Rajasthan, almost all the exit-polls predicted that Congress will sweep the state, pushing the ruling BJP into opposition. In Madhya Pradesh, there will be a tough fight between BJP and Congress.

Chattisgarh is quite prestigious for Congress because they are out of power in that state for straight 15 years. Can Congress win this time at least? But in Mizoram, it looks like Congress will come to power yet again. And then, it is a challenge for TRS to keep their power, while Congress-led Praja Kutami is looking forward to ousting CM KCR from the throne. While all the exit polls gave TRS an upper hand, Lagadapati Rajagopal predicted Congress’ win.

Anyway, as the counting starts as early as 8 am, by lunchtime, the results will almost be predictable. Let’s see what happens.

Telangana: Congress blames ‘EVM tampering’

Share

As Congress faced another defeat at Telangana, despite being a part of the alliance called Prajakutami, it was trailing in the Telangana election results, as per the latest trends.

However, Congress blamed its apparent loss on alleged tampering of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM).

Telangana Congress President N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that all the Congress will lodge a complaint to RO officers “We will also complaint to ECI on this matter. How can TRS leaders say before counting that who will lose in elections?”
