Balakrishna Never Spoke to Me: RGV on Lakshmi’s NTR

Share

Ram Gopal Varma is presenting Bhairava Geetha, which is releasing on December 7 and the director was in town to promote the film and here is what he said about his upcoming films. Directed by Siddharth Thatholu, the film has Dhanunjay and Irra Mor in lead roles.

You usually don’t praise anyone. But why were you all in praises for Siddharth?

Siddharth brought the script to an experienced director like me and I will have a certain idea on how the shot or the scene is going to be pictured. But his work has reached above my expectations and so, it is obvious that he will be praised. That is the only reason I appreciated Siddharth during the pre-release function.

You have said so many times that you want to direct biopic of NTR. What happened ?

That topic never went into discussions with Balakrishna and he neither spoke to me about the film. They had their own ideas about the biopic. But I always had one, and it was more about the darker part of NTR’s life and his relationship with Lakshmi Parvathi. That is what I am going to show now in Lakshmi’s NTR. Even after announcing this film too, Balakrishna never spoke to me.

Lakshmi Parvathi asked you to show the script, right? So did you do that?

I asked her to let me to do the film if she believes in me. I told her that I may even change the script later, to which even she had nothing to say. So she has to believe me when I have taken the responsibility of showing the truth.

Are you intentionally releasing the film with NTR biopic?

It wasn’t planned. The film will be over by then and I want to release it. I have no choice (laughs). I am not here to hurt anyone’s feeling I am here to make film and I will be doing it. Nobody can stop me from releasing the film and I am not afraid of anyone.

Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas now a married couple

Share

Jodhpur: Actress Priyanka Chopra and American singer Nick Jonas are now husband and wife as they had their Catholic wedding at the Umaid Bhawan Palace here.

According to people.com, the groom’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr officiated Saturday’s Christian ceremony, where the couple exchanged wedding bands by famed jeweller Chopard.

On Sunday, the bride and groom will continue their epic wedding weekend with a Hindu ceremony.

“It is super important to Priyanka to have an Indian ceremony that honours her heritage and culture, just as it’s important to also have a Western ceremony that honours Nick’s Christian upbringing,” a source told people.com earlier this week.

Priyanka, 36, was a glowing bride in a custom made Ralph Lauren wedding gown, and Jonas, too, wore Ralph Lauren. In fact, so did both families, all of the bridesmaids, and all of the groomsmen who included Priyanka’s brother Siddharth and Nick’s three brothers, Joe, Kevin and Frankie.

Ralph Lauren is an important designer to the couple not only because he is a close friend of the actress but also because she and Nick, 26, both rocked Ralph Lauren Collection at the 2017 Met Gala, which took place one week after their unofficial first date.

Ahead of their big weekend, the couple celebrated Thanksgiving in India together. Days later, they held a puja ceremony at Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra’s house in Mumbai to spiritually celebrate the upcoming event.

Weeks beforehand, Priyanka celebrated her bachelorette party in Amsterdam and had a bridal shower in New York City.

The couple first began talking in 2016 via Twitter, and met in person for the first time at a party for the Academy Awards in 2017.

After Demonetization another Monetary Crisis is on the anvil

According to sources the new Rs 2000, Rs 500 notes issued during 2016 are becoming unusable due to its poor quality as compared to the old notes, as published in some reports. Meanwhile if the currency notes are used extensively, folded and soiled they become unusable either in banks or ATMs or for any other transactions and the sensors inside the ATM machine won’t detect them.

Furthermore same would be the case with the new RS 200, 50 and 10 Rs notes which were issued in 2018. The report said the banks have started categorization of these notes under ‘non-issuable’ category. Meanwhile banks categorize notes under ‘non-issuable’ category when the currency can’t be used in ATMs or be accepted, exchanged by the public. Further according to the RBI circular, RBI/2018-19/3 DCM (NE) No.G-2/08.07.18/2018-19 it has sought to mitigate the hardships faced by the public with regard to soiled notes and help public in genuine cases.

Moreover currency notes in India have been used roughly, folded soiled and written upon because of low awareness on upkeep safety and usage of notes. Reportedly this has been a practice since a long time and the RBI has time and again educated the public at large on how to keep currency notes carefully.

TRAI against telecom operators!

Share

Telecom regulatory authority of India has reportedly taken an action against the telecom operators like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and prominent operators who were threatening their subscribers that their incoming services will be cancelled if they are not doing a recharge of Rs 35 every month.

Since a lot of complaints were received by TRAI with regards to this cancellation of incoming facility, the TRAI regulation committee has made moves to control this moves by telecom operators. The subscribers were threatened over SMS by operators like banks asking customers to maintain balance that if they don’t recharge every month with a minimal balance their incoming facilities will be cancelled.

Now TRAI has ordered that in such cases of no minimal recharges, the telecom operators cannot cancel services, and ordered that the carriers like Airtel and Vodafone can make requests to their customers to recharge, but must not disable incoming, or disable the sim card. It has been said by the carriers that after the arrival of Reliance Jio there are heavy losses and to face the losses only they had to make this move of minimal recharge mandating.

For acting in that small yet impactful role of a widow in Mirchi movie, small time actress Madhavi has shot to immense fame. Since then she is getting some interesting roles in big films and even big heroes are encouraging their directors to bring her for crucial roles.

Madhavi is actually a soft-skills trainer, who works with many colleges, teaching the students, and took up acting as a part-time thing. She has acted in many films, but of late she is said to be little choosy. And finally, a most awaited opportunity knocked her doors.

While she was supposed to play the mother of Jr NTR in Jai Lava Kusa, she was replaced in the last minute. And now, she got a call from another Nandamuri hero, none other than Balayya, for NTR biopic. She will be playing the role of politician Nannapaneni Rajakumari on the silver screen. Hope this will give a much needed spin to Madhavi’s career in Tollywood.

Coming to Nannapaneni, she is the popular Andhra Pradesh politician who entered into politics when NTR announced his political debut. She traveled with Congress and TDP in her lifetime and got a name for herself.

‘You’re Hurting Party, Party Will Hurt You Back’ – KTR Threatened Konda?

Chevella MP, business honcho and gentleman in Telangana politics, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, has made shocking prediction for the TRS in the coming polls. Letting out his prediction on the party that he had left recently, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy said that TRS would get less than 30 Assembly seats in the Telangana polls and stated that Congress-led Praja Kutami would sweep the election.

Vishweshwar Reddy said he had faced ill treatment in the TRS and said he is compelled to quit the party. When asked him about whether he hasn’t tried to talk to KCR about the things, he replied that there is no such democracy, healthy atmosphere in TRS.

He said what TRS leaders speak are the words and script handed over to them by KCR and KTR. Vishweshwar Reddy said national political parties suit him and hence he said he has joined Congress. He described his political journey in TRS as a “great learning experience”.

Admitting that he was threatened by KTR during the time of quitting TRS, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy shockingly revealed what KTR had told him. According to him, KTR told him, ‘You are hurting party, party will hurt you back’.

Thrill Vs Romance Vs Action Vs Comedy: Game Is On

With 2.O giving only simple competition, there is a new sense of energy filled in the hearts of those films that are hitting cinemas on December 7th. Guess what, the game is among themselves now and everyone wants to score big.

In a bid to cash on this date, as other Fridays of December are quite busy, as many as five films are hitting on the screens on 7th. Among all of them, the trailer of Sumanth’s Subramanyapuram has created some interest, though it resembles of earlier thriller hit Karthikeya in some ways. And then, RGV’s Bhairavageetha is made to make news as the maverick director promoted it big time. That said, the hot adult romance in the trailer is catchy for masses.

And we have Bellamkonda Srinivas’ hyped action film Kavacham, which is hitting screens on that day. The presence of big starlet like Kajal is a great attraction for this movie. Also, milky siren Tamanna’s latest love story with Sundeep Kishan, Next Enti, has attracted youths for its visuals.

Along with these films, some other small films like Husharu that is a bit of adult comedy and Subhalekulu which happens to be a matured drama, are competing at the box office this Friday. We have to see who will score as the ‘game is on’.

November Box Office: The Few Ups and Many Downs

Share

Tollywood hasn’t registered single hit film in September and October in spite of big movies like Aravindha Sametha, Devadas, Shailaja Reddy Alludu and NOTA hitting the screens.

November, which is usually considered as a dull month for Telugu cinema box office has done better compared to previous months.

Dubbed film Sarkar turned out to be a decent hit in Telugu. It has become the first ever hit for Tamil superstar Vijay. Political backdrop and Murugadoss factor helped Sarkar to fetch decent openings and the film capitalized on it to go past the breakeven mark.

Vijay Deverakonda’s long delayed horror comedy Taxiwala has become a hit against all odds. Despite the leakages and low buzz, Taxiwala managed to collect more than Rs. 20 crore share, which is almost triple its making costs. The film’s success cannot be compared to Geetha Govindam or Arjun Reddy, but it is a blockbuster nevertheless.

Much awaited high budget visual extravaganza 2.0 opened well in spite of releasing during off season. The film has generated good word of mouth and the buyers are hoping that it would hold well for few weeks to be a successful venture.

Mythri Movie Makers got rude shock in November with two of their movies Savyasachi and Amar Akbar Anthony ending up as disasters. The latter has put a huge dent in Raviteja’s market and has put director Sreenu Vaitla in a terrible spot.

Films like Adhugo, 24 Kisses, Rangu etc. were total washouts.

Is TRS Vote Bank Eroding?

Share

Youth and students, employees, farmers and Muslim minorities constituted the major vote bank for TRS in coming to power in 2014.

However, with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao failing to meet the aspirations of these sections in the past four years, this vote bank is eroding fast and can adversely impact the prospects of TRS in ensuing Assembly elections.

In the initial days, the TRS government earned a reputation for being ‘employee-friendly’ but government employees slowly started distancing themselves from the Party after KCR failed to implement the recommendations of the new Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and extend Interim Benefit (IR) till new PRC is implemented.

He held meetings with various Unions in May and promised IR from June 2, 2018 which was later postponed to Aug 15 and then to Dasara.

And then, his sudden decision to dissolve the Assembly on Sep 6 before Dasara without giving IR has led to severe resentment among employees who are now reportedly rallying for Mahakutami.

Similarly, youth and students who played a key role in Telangana Statehood agitation moved away from TRS after KCR failed to fulfill his promise of one lakh government jobs.

Muslim minorities supported TRS as KCR had promised 12 per cent reservations in education and jobs against the existing 4 per cent. Even this remains unfulfilled.

On Thursday, during an election rally in Kagaznagar, KCR abused a Muslim man who questioned him on the 12 percent quota. This has further dented the Muslim vote bank of TRS.

The video which went viral on social media has put KCR in an uncomfortable position with all sections of society criticising his high-handedness.

As for the tenant farmers, lakhs of them are miffed at not being included in the Rythu Bandhu scheme which is only for land owners and not the cultivators.

With only a week to go for the election, will all these factors turn out to be KCR’s Waterloo or will he emerge from the battle smiling?
