Governor’s dilemma: To praise or not to praise Modi?
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor E.S.L Narasimhan has always been at the center of political discussions ever since bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh. As the Constitutional Head of both the Telugu States, he has also played the role of a mediator in ironing out differences between the state but also has created them by being close to the Centre.
Despite having a limited role, Narasimhan has been accused of being loyal to the BJP after TDP broke off its ties with NDA and walked out. Simultaneously, he has been extremely positive towards TRS to the extent of plotting against Andhra Pradesh. Several instances and examples have shown his interference in bringing pro-TRS allies together. He is also believed to have brokered a deal between Jana Sena and TRS, despite bitter relations both the parties had earlier. Similarly, he has also been responsible for the most recent tie-up of anti-TDP allies, the TRS and YSR Congress.
His behavior has been questioned by the Opposition party (Congress) in Telangana which has accused him of behaving like a “TRS leader.” In fact, Congress leaders also alleged that Narasimhan is lobbying for the extension of his term at a time when there is speculation that he will be replaced. Incidentally, Narasimhan happens to be the only UPA appointed-person that the BJP has retained for its political gains. Given his nature in meddling with the politics in both Telugu states, he has been double-faced in his approach towards both the states.
On one side, the TRS is believed to have a secret understanding with the BJP at the Centre and hence, recently at the Telangana Assembly session, he had praised the TRS and the BJP for supporting Telangana’s growth. However, in Andhra Pradesh, the ruling TDP government which is up in arms against the BJP government at the Centre compelled Narasimhan to criticize the Centre. In his speech at the start of the Assembly session in Andhra Pradesh, Governor praised AP Government’s development efforts despite not receiving adequate financial assistance and lambasted the Centre for doing injustice to Andhra Pradesh.
Apparently, Narasimhan has been upset about the speech he read out in AP Assembly because he wanted to prove his loyalty to the BJP government. Now, he is also in a dilemma whether he committed a blunder by unnecessarily praising the AP government and showing the TDP in a positive light which might turn out to catalyze BJP’s negative image in Andhra Pradesh. While he has enjoyed his time as the Governor of two Telugu states as a rare honor, he has also put himself in a difficult situation that may come back to bite him later. Looks like his biases got him into trouble!
Mahesh Kathi On MP Ticket From Chittoor?
This is one surprising news that is surfacing. As per hearsay, Mahesh Kathi, the controversial critic, and political activist is keen on contesting MP election from Chittoor on behalf of YSRCP. Sources say that Mahesh is projecting his confidence of winning the election but the party high command is still skeptical considering his financial background. But, the constituency being SC reserved, the requirement of funds will be relatively less, as per some political analysts. While it is sitting MP Shiva Prasad from TDP who may contest from this place again, YSRCP is still in quest of the right candidate.
Grapevine says that some key leaders in YSRCP are seriously considering Mahesh Kathi on the grounds that he can voice out his opinions so strongly accompanied with constitutional and legal knowledge. Some businessmen and leaders are also trying to convince high command by assuring financial support to this candidate. If everything goes well, Mahesh Kathi will start to become an active politician.
On the other hand, there are assumptions that Chinta Mohan, the Congress candidate may jump into YSRCP shortly. If that happens, he will become a competitor for Mahesh Kathi owing to his experience and hold on the constituency. But so far, he didn’t get any invitation from YSRCP high command, as per the sources.
It cannot be forgotten at this juncture that Mahesh Kathi became more popular with his continuous verbal fight with Pawan Kalyan fans for weeks together. He was recently externed by the Telangana police for a period of six months followed by his comments on Hindu God Ram. He is now back in Hyderabad and appearing in TV debates as usual.
Hyd Mayor Fined For Wrong Parking
No one is above law. Hyderabad Mayor has been fined for parking his car in the ‘No Parking’. Hyderabad city mayor Bonthu Rammohan is the first citizen of Hyderabad city. He is a rule maker. But he had broken the traffic rule. In a traffic violation, the Mayor’s car had been parked at a ‘No Parking’ area near Inorbit Mall in Madhapur. His Fortuner AP09C 9969 was parked on Thursday afternoon at I-Lab near Inorbit at ‘No Parking’ zone. Despite the sign of ‘No-Parking’, the car was parked.
That’s when a smart citizen had taken a picture and posted the same on Twitter tagging Cyberabad Traffic, Cyberabad Police and Telangana DGP. Taking up the issue, Cyberabad police have forwarded the tweet to its traffic wing. Responding to it, Cyberabad Traffic department has fined Mayor.
Cyberabad Traffic police have thanked the citizens for being responsible and bringing up such issues to their notice. Netizens are heaping praises on Cyberabad Traffic police for fining mayor and proving that no one is above law.
Panchayat Results: Kodangal still Revanth Reddy’s adda
Even as Telangana Rashtra Samithi has been rejoicing over sweeping 60% of panchayats in the recently concluded Panchayat Polls, results in Kodangal have come as a surprise to people as the difference between Congress and TRS is massive.
According to the results, Congress secured 67 while TRS secured only 17. This huge difference between the Congress and TRS clearly indicates that the grand old party still enjoys popularity with its maverick leader Revanth Reddy ruling the roost. On the other hand, this has also raised doubts about Revanth Reddy’s loss in the constituency. In the Telangana assembly polls, Revanth Reddy lost to TRS candidate while this was believed to be a rigged election.
Despite several accusations that Revanth Reddy could not lose the election, the results showed that he lost it. Not only that, but several voters from the constituency were deleted from the list by the elections commission. Going by the numbers in the Panchayat Polls, Congress alleged foul play by TRS government as the results of Panchayat polls have clarified that Revanth is still Kodangal’s favorite and that the constituency is his “adda.” In addition to this, the case on EVM manipulation during Assembly elections also is being taken up in the High Court. Wonder what TRS has to say about this!
Industry Talk: Akhil Building Up A Relation
For a film that is not posting enough numbers to paddle all the distributors to shores, why would the hero decide to tour theatres? What will be that of great use to the movie’s performance? That’s the doubt one gets after watching Akhil Akkineni’s theatre tours now.
Along with his heroine Nidhie Aggerwal and director Venky, the young Akkineni lad is busy touring various theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, to meet the audiences who are watching his ‘Mr. Majnu’. Though the film is not collecting huge at the box office, Akhil has decided to take up this tour. Here goes the reason.
Insiders revealed that it is his third film and he wants to know what audiences are really thinking about him. Perhaps that’s what motivated him to go to theatres and meet them, such that it would build a relationship with them. For a hero to be acceptable in all roles and shades, definitely a relationship with the viewers is quintessential. And seems like Akhil took that seriously.
That’s a good move for sure, and next time he has to make sure that the content will be a bit more engaging.
Mammotty’s Two Conditions For Telugu Filmmakers
Right from offering the role of Sai Kumar in ‘Prasthanam’ movie to that of YSR in ‘Yaatra’, there are many times when Telugu filmmakers went all the way to Kerala to offer talented star hero Mammootty a role. But the actor is not game for all.
That is the reason he is making his Telugu re-entry after 25 years post the release of his straight Telugu film ‘Swati Kiranam’. Explaining more about this, the actor stated that he will be taking up roles only that cast him in a positive role. And he is ready to do more Telugu film if they give him central characters of the plot. If these two conditions are met, he’s ready to jump into the boat.
These are the days where imported character artists like Satya Raj, Mohan Lal, Rahman, and other Mallu-Tamil actors doing big in Tollywood. Seems like Mammooty don’t want to miss this opportunity and he wants to increase his footprint in Telugu after the release of YSR biopic Yaatra.
Meanwhile, he is seriously waiting to see how his re-entry film fares here as he has kept blood and soul into the role of late AP Chief Minister.
Arjun Reddy Comedian Goes To Hollywood
Success follows hard work and it looks like ‘Arjun Reddy’ fame comedian Rahul Ramakrishna is having a ball in the same lines. After scoring as hero’s friend, the actor felt unhappy for a while and finally became a hero. And now, he is becoming the leading of a Hollywood film.
In an indie film that will be based on the life of Telugu graduates in the USA, filmmaker Pradeep Katasani is debuting as a producer and director. Now, Rahul Ramakrishna is gearing up to play the role of the lead actor in this Hollywood film. Titled ‘Silk Road’, the film deal with cyber crimes and drugs in Los Angeles.
However, Rahul will not be doing any sorts of comedy in this movie, and it will be a serious role for him. The makers are planning to take this 2-hour long film to international film festivals and make it a super hit. We have to see how Rahul fares in this international movie.
On the other side, the actor is busy with various Telugu films where he is playing comedian friend as well as character artist roles.

Mega Hero With Foreign Girl In Mumbai!
Long back mega hero Sai Dharam Tej himself revealed that he is ‘single’ and asked his heroine for a date, regarding which she said NO. But things got changed now it looks like.
Back then during the filming of ‘Tikka’ movie where Brazillian beauty Larissa Bonesi is the lead girl, the mega hero is said to have asked her on a date for which she said she already has a boyfriend. Later, Larissa hasn’t got any big offers from filmdom, and recently she appeared in Sandeep Kishan and Tamanna’s ‘Next Enti?’ which bombed at the box office.
Since then, Larissa is staying in Mumbai only, exploring other modeling opportunities. And then, it looks like she has finally agreed to go on a date with Sai Dharam as well. Other day she took to Twitter to share a photographer where the mega hero posed in a rather hidden way. It takes nothing to guess him, but actually, the question is why he met her?
The industry is now buzzing, whether they are just good friends, or they went on a first date?
It’s wrong of Krish to attack me: Kangana Ranaut
Actress-director Kangana Ranaut feels it is wrong of Krish to accuse her of taking away his credit from “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”, and says he will get nothing out of it.Krish, who co-directed “Manikarnika…”, is upset as Kangana had claimed that she had directed 70 per cent of the film.
“He (Krish) has been credited for his work in the film and it is very incorrect on his part to say something like that. If he has any issues with the film, then he should talk to the producers and should not attack me for that reason,” Kangana said.
“He should prove whatever he is saying. Nothing will come out of it if he will keep talking about it in the media,” she added. The actress opened up about the controversy to the media as she stepped out of the airport here on Friday.
“Manikarnika…” captures the life story of Rani Laxmibai. Kangana essays the role of Rani Lakshmibai.
The actress said: “Fortunately or unfortunately, I have directed the film. All important decisions regarding the film were taken by me. So, I just want to make one thing clear that this film has been released and nothing can happen now.”
The “Queen” star is confident that her next directorial will be better than the period drama.
“People are saying that we want lead roles in the film. I just want to tell them that work hard for that. They will not get anything by crying in public. They should earn their place. Today, I have become a filmmaker on my own credibility. I will once again direct a film and it will be better than ‘Manikarnika…'”
The actress also expressed her viewpoint on the remarks made by Mishti Chakraborty, who said that she is “hugely disappointed” to see the final screen time given to her character in “Manikarnika…”; Sonu Sood who had to walk out of the project due to date issues; Apurva Asrani who also blamed Kangana for taking his credit from “Simran”.
“I would suggest Krish one thing — he should make one film with this entire company. In that film, he should cast Sonu as a villain, Mishti as lead actress and he should hire Apurva to write the story of the film.
“He should make such a film that I can get to learn a lesson from that.”
