Naidu’s dilemma: YSR belongs to Congress or YSRCP?

Share

Ahead of crucial Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, TDP president and AP CM N Chandrababu is facing a big dilemma on what stand he should adopt on Congress strongman and late AP CM Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

The AP Assembly elections have become a straight fight between TDP and YSRCP as Congress, BJP and Jana Sena have failed to make their mark in AP politics before elections and have no chances to show any impact in upcoming polls.

On one hand, Chandrababu has joined hands with Congress in Telangana. In AP, a decision on TDP-Congress alliance is yet to be taken.

But at national-level, Chandrababu is already rallying for Congress-led Front to take on BJP.

In this scenario, Chandrababu is confused how voters will react if he criticises late YSR while maintaining friendship with Congress.

For TDP and Chandrababu, the main weapon to attack YSRCP and Jagan is criticising late YSR as ‘raja of corruption’ and highlighting YSR-led Congress government regime between 2004 and 2009 as ‘most corrupt’ due to which Jagan amassed illegal wealth on a large scale.

AP Congress leaders are opposed to criticising late YSR’s Congress government by Chandrababu if TDP maintains ties with Congress.

TDP leaders on the other hand argue that late YSR no more belongs to Congress after his son Jagan quit Congress and formed his own party YSRCP.

Naidu is confused whether late YSR belongs to Congress or YSRCP?

Balayya And Danayya, That Is The Best Move!

Share

This Sankranthi, Tollywood’s journey hasn’t happened as expected. It took lot of turns that could possibly cause 100+ crores loss in all possible ways. Needless to say that the underperformance of NTR Kathanayakudu and Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama are the reasons for this.

Producers of these two films, Nandamuri Balayya and DVV Danayya, have now taken some stunning decisions to make sure that they will not be hurting any distributor who lost money.

Balayya has already declared that he will be giving Mahanayakudu rights to all the distributors for free and they will be paying him back after they recover their investment lost on the first part. That’s a splendid move because ditching those distributors will not help Mahanayakudu pretty much when it comes to theatres and allocation of proper centers.

Then we have DVV Danayya partially returning amounts of #VVR distributors without worrying them a lot. Because he has a huge lineup of films coming including that of #RRR and any ill-treatment to distributors will give shockers then. So both Balayya and Danayya made best moves when it comes to saving their distributors.

DSP One Film Short Of A ‘Mega’ Record

Share

Tollywood’s star composer Devi Sri Prasad’s association with the Mega family heroes needs no introduction. DSP has given numerous musical hits for Mega heroes, starting from Chiranjeevi to Varun Tej recently.

Now, DSP is on the verge of a Mega feat. The composer is just one film short of the Mega record. With Chiranjeevi’s nephew Vaishnav Tej’s debut film, DSP has composed music for all the Mega family heroes, except Allu Sirish. DSP himself revealed this interesting tidbit at Vaishnav Tej’s debut film’s launch this morning.

Shankar Dada MBBS and Khaidi No 150 with Chiru, Jalsa, Gabbar Singh and Atharintiki Dharedhi with Pawan Kalyan, Yevadu and Rangasthalam with Charan and Aarya, Aarya 2 and DJ with Allu Arjun are some of DSP’s best albums for the Mega heroes. Interestingly, DSP is the only composer to have scored music for all the Mega heroes.

#VVR Shows True Mega Power Of Ram Charan

Share

In its ten days of release, Sankranthi bonanza #VinayaVidheyaRama has gone through a lot of hardships at the box office. From getting a negative talk from the very first show itself to becoming a funny bone for trollers, this Ram Charan and Boyapati Sreenu film has faced all the hurdles.

But the silver lining is that, despite getting a disastrous talk after the first show itself, the film made 61+ crores share so far. Of course, that doesn’t make the loss any lesser as the film got sold to 92+ crores, but that explains the stamina of a mass film and the true mega-power of Ram Charan as well.

Earlier we have seen only movies like Agnyaathavasi that recovered 60 crores ‘share’ from the box office with disastrous talks. Films of other big stars are sinking below 50 crores and above standing above 40 crores if they score a disaster. In that aspect, Ram Charan is enjoying pretty good support in mass centers, we have to say. And that brings to one point.

Without giving any explanations or giving up to formalities, Ram Charan should pick right films and make good name and fame for him. Because if he does more like Rangasthalam kind of movies, not only that they make good money, he will be the true and bigger heir to Megastar Chiranjeevi. And we could proudly say, no other superstar’s heir in India is as successful as Charan!!!

#RRR: First Indian film to use this technology

Share

The second schedule of the biggest multi-starrer ‘RRR’ has resumed on Monday. Being made with a budget of Rs 200 crore, the film is using new technology in its making.

Cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar has shared his update and also revealed what it is. Well it’s the use of lens belonging to Arri group which is a global supplier of motion picture film equipment.

ALEXA LF camera, ARRI Signature Prime lenses are being used for its filming. These lens helps in capturing images in natural light thus reducing the effort of using artificial light while shooting and this in turns gives a true cinematic quality. On the whole the visuals of ‘RRR’ are going for a huge makeover.

These are said to be the most expensive lens and ‘RRR’ is the first Indian film to be using them. Rajamouli so far did not reveal anything about the movie but the expectations are very high on it.

What will be the result of this new technology, that we will get to know when the film releases which is expected in sometime in 2020.

Rakul Preet Looks Forward To A Busy Year

Share

Actress Rakul Preet is excited about Milap Zaveri’s “Marjaavaan”, and says it is a very performance-oriented role but with a commercial touch. The actress is also looking forward to the release of “De De Pyaar De” as she feels the movies will help her find her base in the Hindi film industry.

“‘Marjaavaan’ comes out this year. We are shooting for it at the moment. What is exciting for me is that both the roles in ‘Marjaavaan’ and ‘De De Pyaar De’ are very different from each other. I can’t reveal much about ‘Marjaavaan’,” Rakul told IANS.

“But I can tell that both are very performance-oriented. From my look to the way I walk or my dialogues, ‘Marjaavaan’ is absolutely different,” she added. It also stars Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Tara Sutaria. The other details of the film are still under wraps.

Giving a glimpse into the universe of “Marjaavaan”, Rakul said: “More than the fact that I haven’t done anything like this, I don’t think Hindi cinema has seen a role like this. Milap is known for giving heavy dialogues.

“I remember when I signed the film he told me that ‘this is the first time my heroine has such heavy dialogues’. I have that 1990s touch with all the grace and a lot of commercial mass dialogues — which I am enjoying a lot while shooting. I hope people also like it.”

She is having fun shooting with her “Aiyaary” co-star Sidharth.

“It is really nice when you have a certain comfort level with your co-star and when you know them well. And that good equation really helps in our performance,” she said.

Rakul says 2019 is a very exciting year for her.

“2018 was a year when I shot for five films. ‘De De Pyaar De’ which took a major chunk. There was a lot of prep which went into the film. And then I signed ‘Marjaavaan’, shot for the NTR biopic. It is a special appearance. Then I shot for three films in Tamil.”

The actress says her work will come out in front of people this year.

“Especially in Hindi where people haven’t really seen me do much commercially, or seen me in a performance-oriented role. So, I am very kicked about ‘De De Pyaar De’ be it the songs or the character.”

“De De Pyaar De” is a romantic comedy co-produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Akiv Ali.

Has Akhil’s Goodtime Started?

Share

Akhil Akkineni was hailed as a perfect star material even before his silver screen debut a couple of years ago. But unfortunately, Akhil tasted two straight disasters with Akhil and Hello.

This prompted the makers of Akhil’s upcoming film ‘Mr Majnu’ to not splurge money unnecessarily and instead make a medium budgeted film like other upcoming stars. Compared to his first two movies, Mr Majnu is Akhil’s least expensive film and also far from any special attractions.

Initially, expectations on Mr Majnu among fans weren’t too high. However, the neatly cut trailer which was released a couple of days ago received a decent response from fans and it raised the expectations. Thanks to NTR’s presence at the pre-release event, Mr Majnu managed to gain attraction from all quarters.

All these factors resulted in the sudden rise of positive vibes on Mr Majnu. Another advantage for the film is that it releases on January 25, when there’s hardly any competition. Hello ended up as a failure as it was released alongside a commercial film like MCA.

But with Mr Majnu, things seem to be in Akhil’s favour, and it looks like his good times have started. Even if Mr Majnu turns out to be an averagely decent film like Hello, it will go on to become a hit. Whether Akhil will get third time lucky or not remains to be seen.
